I have a form with a listbox in it. I want the listbox to update as the record changes.Let me get a little more in-depth...The form will be used to identify merchandise that exists in the company to fulfill current POs.
What I want is for the listbox (which displays Store Locations) to update when the PO# updates on the form (so as the record changes).Currently, the listbox only pulls all the store locations no matter if you hit next record to get a new PO.The two main fields I am working with are PO# (text box) and Store Locations (the listbox).How can I get the listbox to update as the record changes on the form?

I have 2 forms: frmExcEntry and frmItemSearch. frmExcEntry is a data entry form where the associate enters PO#, Item#, Qty, etc. frmItemSearch is a popup form that is used to narrow the search of the Item# from frmExcEntry. Right now, when the associate types the Item# (either PartNo or FactNo)in the txtItemNo control on frmExcEntry, frmItemSearch opens (frmExcEntry remains open) with all potential item #'s associated with the text entered in [txtItemNo]...(there could be multiple FactNo in our inventory system but PartNo is unique and the bound field for the control). frmItemSearch uses an unbound textbox (txtSearch) that populates with the text from frmExcEntry on txtSearch_GotFocus and queries a listbox with the list of possible PartNo to select. I want the associate to be able to double-click the accurate PartNo from the list box which will then update the value initially typed in txtItemNo and copy the PartNo over txtItemNo in the currently open frmExcEntry.

I have an inventory of equipment that is assigned to different locations. When repair is needed, the equipment is brought in and swapped with a loaner. How can I update on a form the location change from "A" to "Shop" that will show up on the related equipment table? I have "Location" in the table, but don't know if I need something to the effect of "NewLocation" to assist in showing the equipment swap.

I have three forms: Form1 that contains subform1 and Form2 which is totally separate. Form1 contains a listbox that I use as a search form. When a record in the listbox is clicked, it populates Subform1 with more details.
If I am in Form2, I would like to be able to click a record which opens the listbox in Form1 to the same record (this will automatically update subform1 with the details).

Hi there!
Been away from access db's for a couple of years and have suddenly job i have to do, and of course the client wants it finished yesterday :rolleyes:
Anyway, my problem is that i have a simple form with suppier details in it - and a combo box which shows the products that that supplier has. The combo box runs on a custom query object i created that matches the supplierID's. Simple!
But for some reason when i change the supplier record, the combo box doesn't with the new list of products. The dynamic QUERY updates just fine, if i check it, however these results aren't reflected in the listbox.
If i use a subform, then that updates just fine. Alas, not the list box, though.
I must be forgetting something simple! Is there some kind of update event i have to create?

I have a navigation form that has a tabbed form on one of its tabs. The tabbed form has a 'current client' query record source and allows one to choose from a list of current clients and when a client is selected - details relating to client are displayed on various tabs on tabbed form.
I want to duplicate tabbed form and change record source to a query selecting 'exited clients' so I can see same information but for exited clients.
I have created a new tab on navigation form for my new exited clients tabbed form and changed record source by creating a new exited client query but when I change record source on exited client tabbed form it automatically changes record source of current client tabbed form to the exited client query and visa versa.

I have a table with a multi-select listbox as one of the fields. I want to loop through the recordset (table) and changes the listbox selections for each record.
To go into a little more detail, the table (tblEmail) has a field (Label) that is a multi-select listbox. The listbox pulls from another table (tblLabel). I want to loop through records in tblEmail and edit/change the Label(s) for each email though VBA.
I've tried doing something like this:

in a continuous form i want to click on one record and have the one field change the background colour to highlight it. When I use the code: Field. BackColor = vbYellow it changes the background on all the records. Is there a code to say only for the record with focus?

I have a list of codes that need to be changed if it is part of the a list that need to be updated after being entered into the database. I created a function that holds the old values and what they need to be updated to. To get this accomplished on a form do I just need to write a Update query and then reference the query to the appropriate field I am trying to update with new codes for the 11 codes needing to be changed and leaving the other codes the same.

I wish to change the backcolor of a field on a current record being dispalyed in a 'multiple items' form. However when using me.A.backcolor = makes refrence to all fields called A on the 'multiple items' form and therefore all fields change colour not just the current record.

I want to be able to differentiate between current and past staff using different colors, i.e. Black text for current employees and red for employees who have left, based on a field (True/False) in the original staff table.

Using a popup form
1. On my main form, I have a listbox, I would like to edit the values of the listbox.
To do this, I have a popup form with 2 listboxes, one to have the values of the listbox on the main form, and the other listbox with option values for the 1st
1) how to i pass the rowsource sql of the listbox on the main form to the listbox on the popup form
2) how on closing the popup form, do i update the rowsource sql listbox on the main form from the changed value of the popup form listbox rowsource sql

I have been looking for days on the net for my listbox problem. It is there and found a few, even on this forum. but when i try the solutions mentioned i am in a total loss and do not know what to change to make it work for me.
I have a form named A/B Retriever with a record source qry input AB Bins Than i have a unbound combobox with row source qry input AB Bins. This populates 8 textboxes with B through I carton boxes, stored in a bin. The user selects a Bin location from the combobox and can put a "x" in a textbox to illustrate that the box is empty. This works perfect.
Underneath the input bin and box part i have 8 listboxes that shows a query that has counted the empty boxes with the corresponding bin location. this also works. but the question from users where, If i click on a, lets say empty B-box at Bin location 12A20, they want the combobox automatically focus on the combobox with the corresponding Bin location. This is a quick way for them to delete a empty box (remove the X).

I have a simple data entry form on which there are about 30 to 40 data fields to be update by users. One of the field is called "Stage" which is a combo box with 2 entries "Formal Case" and "Informal Case" with no default value whien a form is first opened.
Users will normally create a data entry which updates the table and save.
However if in future users open any one existing record and try to change Stage field from Informal to Formal or vice a versa I would then like this action to
1) update a time stamp concatinated with the stage change value in a text field perhaps
2) save/close the form
3) open a new form with all the existing entries(plus changed status of "Stage Field") with a new record ID and new time stamp.

I have a form that currently uses a "catch all" table for listing available equipment to choose from for an equipment field. I call it tblEquipment. What I want to do is to make it so when I type a name in (1 of 35) in one field of the current record, the record source for the equipment field immediately looks at a different table that has equipment available only for that name. To do this I plan on making 35 different tables with limited data originally found in tblEquipment. I would call these tblEquipment1, tblEquipment2, etc. I do not use a sub form, nor do I want to.
So my questions are:
1) can this be done
2)If it can be done, how can I do it?

I am trying to update values in an unbound text box based on a selection in the combo box on the same form; however whilst I am easily able to display the information for the first selection the values do not update when I change the value in the drop down.

I have created three tables, all of them are connected by one-to-one relationship by same field, as you can see in the screenshot. and at the same time I have created three forms for each table. then I brought two forms in one remaining form. so whenever I entered data in first form and click on the next tab in which another form exist, it gives me this error: "you cannot add or change a record because a related record is in table".

So i have a field called [LastUpdate] that i want to have change to the current date to show when the form was last updated. which event do i use to make this happen and should this be a form event or this field event? I tried using the On Data Change even for the form and then just assigning [LastUpdate] = Date, but that didn't do anything. any ideas?

I have a Listbox that I want to use to go to a record on a subform. I know that it cant be done with the wizard.
The records that I am looking at don't have an ID so I want to look at both a date field [TrainingDate] and a Time Field [TrainingTime]. I have set the querry up and the list gets populated with the correct information. And I have added the following code to the AfterUpdate Event

DoCmd.SearchForRecord , "", acFirst, "[TrainingDate] = " & Str(Nz(Screen.ActiveControl, 0))
The reason that it has no RecordID is that the records could be imported and that would produce duplicates.

How to do a 'Delete from ListBox' . My listbox is populated, but I want to be able to put a button on the form, select a record from the listbox and press the button to delete that record from the list.
I should add that this is an unbound listbox so it needs to be removed from the listbox and the table that is populating it.
Listbox is List22 the table that populates it is 'tblShootingTasks'

It works great apart from when i type too many characters and no search results can be found i get a run time error '2105' you cant go to the specific record.

I have a form which uses a listbox to display a given record but when a user without edit rights opens the form in read only mode
Code:
DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria, acFormreadOnly
The user is unable to use the listbox to select a record to view.
I have also tried opening the form in edit mode (acFormedit) and then setting the allowedits etc. to False
Code:
Me.Form.AllowAdditions = False
Me.Form.AllowDeletions = False
Me.Form.AllowEdits = False
But this didn't work either.

I have a listbox with checkbox's based on a table.
The listbox reflects everything great, except it shows an extra checkbox at the end of the list that does nothing.
I think this is the "next record" from the table, but I don't want this to show. How do I hide or get ride of this extra checkbox?
