Forms :: Updating Date Field Via Button
Feb 19, 2014
I'm having a problem trying to update a date field from a button.
I have a form called Add_New_Domain which runs from a table called Domain_Names.
Within the form there is a field called Expiry_Date which tells me when the domain is set to expire. When I first create an entry I manually enter a date in here.
However, every year when the domain renews I would like to increase this date by exactly a year by clicking a button which is also on the form.

Hi all
I have searched the forums and tried various options but I get an error message about the syntax.
The button is to run a SQL query to update a field by calculating on the value of a another field on the form. The query is
DoCmd.RunSQL "UPDATE BatchPayments SET BatchPayments.[GST Amount] = (BatchPayments.[Net Amount]*0.1) WHERE BatchPayments.BatchPaymentsID=" & Me.BatchPaymentsID&";"
The error message is a compile error where it is expecting a list separator or ).
Probably simple but it has got me beat.
Any help will be appreciated.
Regards

Looking to create two command buttons or two keystrokes sets in an Access 2007 form that will allow me to place a current date and time in any allowable field where the Cursor is presently placed. Similar to what was in Access 2000, ctl: (for the current date) and ctl shift : (for the current time).

I can't seem to get my date field to update to today when I add information to another field.
My table has a lookup field, date field, text field, text field, text field.
I have set the date field to default to today for each new record.
I work with this table as a subform.
I would like to have the date field update to the date I go back to the record and update the first text field.
I have tried using after update, and an if - then statement, but nothing seems to work.

I am working on a web database with a form which is bound to an underlying web table where the submissions occur.My challenge is that the fields on the form get submitted to the table even before the submit button is clicked regardless of whether the form was completely filled.
My request is that I want the form to only submit to the submission table only when the submit button is clicked.When I searched on the net, the only solutions I got are VBA written code but my web database cannot use VBA code.
VBA code:
Option Compare Database
Option Explicit
Private blnGood As Boolean
Private Sub cmdSave_Click()
blnGood = True
Call DoCmd.RunCommand(acCmdSaveRecord)
blnGood = False
End Sub
[code]....

I have a single form which becomes either readonly or editable or addnew using a circular toggle switch. The toggle switch is activated by a command button and the caption of the command button is used as the display of the mode.
The SetAddModeBt is a separate command button that initiates the add mode. The problem is that various form or field properties when defined on the fly are not stored and they get lost when you open the form again. Look at the code below:
Code:
Sub tglEditBt_Click()
'-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
' Circular toggle button to change display mode of the form
' ReadOnly - Edit - Add
'-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
' On Error GoTo NotFound
Dim ForName As String
Dim strSQL As String
Dim FMode As String
[Code] ....
Here the first two cases fail when executing the last statement saying it is not supported.

I am currently updating an old Db which rosters staff. One of the enhancements will allow the user to automatically allocate staff details to a Roster after a given date. i.e. Roster date 20th Feb 15, repeat for 3 days. 21st 22nd 23rd Feb 15. I have created a form with a medium date field and then a Combo box with drop down values of 1 thru 7 days. I want to link the combo box value to the Date box.

I am building an Access database for a client. It is an employee staffing database. With that being said they would like the ability to automatically populate the "T2PPCD" date field based on what is entered into the "Report Date" field. (Same table)
The date is the Monday after 180 days from the report date.
I already know how to get it to auto fill 180 days from the "Report Date" but I'm not sure how to tell it to give me the Monday after 180 days.

I want to create a button that when clicked automatically changes a field on the input form and also fills in the current date on a field displayed on the closeout form. I then want it exit my two forms and take me back to my switchboard. Can anyone out there help?..Thanks.

I am setting up a "to_do" list in access. One of the field is the date the task was last completed. I want a button to update that date to the current date for the record that i am viewing on the form. Below is the code that I am using. When I click on my button, it updates the first record in my to-do table but not the current record displayed in my form.
Private Sub Cmd_Update_Click()
Dim DB As Database
Dim rs As Recordset
Dim i As Long
On Error GoTo Command4_Click_Error
Set DB = CurrentDb
[Code] ....

I am trying to figure out to have the current date populate in table field by using a button on a form and not having much luck.
I have a table with 2 date fields, a 'created' field and a 'received' field. I already have the date set to auto populate for the 'created' field but I don't want the 'received' field to populate until the employee has gone into the database to receive the work.
I know I could have the employee just enter the date, but i want to avoid any typos or people simply forgetting to do it.
Ideally I would love the button to enter the current date into the 'received' field and save the entry, but I fine it needs to be 2 seperate buttons.

I have a form that contains a combo box (cboEmployeeName) that pulls data from a query and populates three text boxes (Work Area, Last Name, First Name), This part works fine. Because the text boxes are being populated by the Combo box, they are not bound to the record source tblTrainingSchedule). I need the info that is in the text boxes to populate the respective fields in the record source.
I tested by adding "=tblTrainingSchedule!WorkArea=[cboEmployeeName].Column(3)" (column 3 is the work area) to the "after update" control but it does not populate the data.

My database has a text field "Status" where the text is either, A, W, C. There is a form to update this field; currently it uses a standard Access created text field. The users want a checkbox which will show up as checked when the status is W, if the status is anything else, the checkbox will be blank. If the user clicks the checkbox within the form the status will be changed to W.
If [table.status] = 'W'
then checkbox = 0
else
checkbox = -1
and then somewhere on the update it would be
if checkbox = -1 then [table.status] = R
Except that Access doesn't think the way I do.

I have a form listing tasks to which I make personnel assignments with a multi-value list field type. It takes some time to select from 15-25 employees on the list for each task, especially considering that small groups of employees will be assigned to the same selection of tasks.
What I want to do is select multiple records with the mouse, then click a command button opening a form in dialog mode with the selection list. The user then clicks to make his selections and clicks ok, which then updates the multi-select field for the selected records.
