Forms :: Using COUNT Function On Subform Which Is Based On Query?
Nov 4, 2014
Doing a school project and need to add a count function to a sub form that is based on my query. The count function just needs to be displayed on the bottom of the sub form showing how many records are in the sub form.
When I do this, the function works all good.
When I add the function to a header or footer, so that it doesn't show a column and repeat itself each time.
I run a physical therapy office and patients come in for treatment either 3, 4 or 5 times per week. My database is used to track these frequencies (among other things).
I have 3 queries which count how many patients come in 5, 4 and 3 times/week.
In my main table I have fields called "how many 5's", "how many 4's" and "how many 3's".
I have tried to design an update query which will update those fileds in my main table to reflect the counts in the 3 queries mentioned above.
(I'm not using SQL view, I'm using the query design view)
In the "update to:" row, I use the Build function and locate the count I'm looking for.
Problem: when I run the query I get the error: Operation must use an updateable query.
On my master form I have a subform called invoices this is tied by Site Number to the record on the form which is has the following important information, site code. group code, exp code an amount.
On another subform via a query I have a summary of all the invoices by exp code and group code.On another subform I need to create a Income an Exp.
I have two combo boxes 1 for the Group Code, and another for the expense code what I want it to now do is look up group code exp code = Total amount. There is currently only 1 line as you will see but there will be many rows of summary data...do i need a subform for the summary?
And I need to do it this way as not all exp appears on the income and exp and I want to be able to lay out the expenses for each site differently Attached is the zip file, of the database the only record that has data is site code 0289S
I want to be able to use the Count function that will reside in the header of the main navigation form that will count the records in each navigation sub form (of which there are 6 sub forms)
Each sub form has the same primary key which is what I am doing the count on.
I have done this on another form with no subforms by creating a Textbox with this code: =Count([PCNumber])
I have tried to put this in the header of the main navigation form with various itterations, the last being: =Count([Form]![NavigationSubform].[PCNumber])
But what ever I do seems to come up with "Error" in the textbox.
For info, the form names are:
Main form :StockViewsForm Subform:NavigationSubform
PCNumber being the PK I want to count.
Is this possible of do I need to specify the names of the actual forms that reside in the Navigation Sub Form ??
I have designed an attendance database, with fields for personal details and fields for the days of each month.
I need to have a query that will ask for a certain date(i.e. find the specific field) and then search on specific criteria (i.e. ON SITE) to see which staff are available.
What is the best way of doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated
I have a query that creates counts of fields based on the data in other fields, basically it tells me that in a table there are two entries with value ABC????? and three of DEF????? , the query works perfectly.
When I create a form to display this data and base the form on the Query I keep getting a message box asking for the ID (key field) from the base table.
If I type * in the box (to denote all values) and press enter I get the results expected.
i'm trying to count the total number of records found for this query. i used the following expression (code) in the QED field row Total Incidents: Count([IncidentID]) which, result in an error message.
Can sum1 help me solve this problem. any help would be highly appreciated.
OK, I have a database that manages Work Orders. There are 7 statuses that each work order could possibly be in. They are:
0 - NEW 1 - Open 2 - WIP (Work In Progress) 3 - Serviced 4 - Reviewed 5 - Followed Up 6 - Closed
I have several menus for Admin, Manager, Supervisor and Technicians. I have 7 textboxes on each of these menus that are all grouped together to display the count of how many work orders are in the system for each status. I have totals queries for each status that use the Count function to get the total number of work orders, but having trouble knowing how to get those numbers to show up in the text boxes...
The work order table has a lot of fields in it so I won't list all the irrelevant ones here, but the fields that are important are:
WorkOrderT (Name of Table) WorkOrderID CustomerID StatusID
I have a query where I want to see a percentage of executed demos. I currently have Name of the promo (group by), # of demos (group by), Status (criteria = E for executed demos, count) and Percentage: Status/# of demos. Everytime I run this query I get this message: "Data type mismatch in criteria expression." The only data in Status is either a O for open or an E for executed. The E in Status is the only criteria I have in the whole query. If I take the count function off Status, it runs, but does not give the right results. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Sum Function in Unbound text on Datasheet subform..How to make a sum formula without count orange color rows Amount. Because that orange color rows is product return items so no need to count in SubtotalRs. Actually I have used below normal sum formula so it is ok but need to change the formula. how to give a formula without count orange Amounts?
1) show the number of records in the subform on the main form 2) count the number of records in the subform where a value [Public] is True 3) count the number of records in the subform where another value [Analyst] is True.
I can achieve the first two by using the following VBA on the Main form current event -
Quote:
Private Sub Form_Current() Dim rst As DAO.Recordset Dim lngCount As Long
[Code]....
when i try to get number 3 done I get the same value as for [Public] (using lngCount for both...not surprising really!)
how i can get a count done for [Analyst] = True in the same event?
I have a form that contains a number of tabs, each tab then contains a subform. The basic gist is that there are clients and each client chart needs to be audited to make sure that the every clients chart has all of the correct information in it. So if for example, each client needs an initial treatment plan, there would be a tab called Initial Treatment Plan that would contain a subform (continuous form) displaying all of the clients that are missing this information.
I would like to display the number of records that are being displayed in each subform in the tab next to the name to make it easier for the auditor to know how many which tabs have content to be updated. For example, if there are 10 clients that are missing their initial treatment plan, the tab would read "Initial Treatment Plan (10)".
I was able to get a total number of rows in datasheet view, but I don't know if there is a way to have that field as a hidden field in continuous form view that can have its value displayed in the tab.
I need to check the recordcount in a subform of a navigation frame form in VBA. What is the proper syntax. I have tried multiple things but cant seem to get it. I would rather not use dcount.
I have a main form [frmZone] and a sub form (single form) [fromZoneSub] linked master/child by [ZoneID]
If there are, say, 5 related sub form records I'm trying to get a label [LabelCount] on the sub form to say "1 of 5" and as you click through the sub form for the label to change "2 of 5", then "3 of 5" etc....basically letting the user know how many records there are and as they click to the next record know which record they're on.
I have an IIF function specified on a continuous sub-form as below - basically it checks to see if the value of two text boxes is equal, and if they are it displays 'And', if not it displays the value of the column EntitlementName. I'm trying to work around grouping not working in continuous forms.
When I view the form directly it works no problems but when I view the form as a sub-form instead of showing the correct output it shows #Name? Both the text boxes I refer to have the correct values in them.
I am trying to count the number of records in a subform where the text box (txtFinal) = RPR-RPR & RTN. The subform is called PartNumbers. The table name the subform is bound to is named Completed.
I tried using =DCount("[Part Number]","Completed","[Final] = 'RPR-RPR & RTN'"). That is counting the total number of records in the table, not the total number of records in the subform. How do I get it to count the total number of records in the subform?
I am trying to get a subform to be hidden when the value of a textbox (txtAllocationID) is empty but when a ID number appears I would like it to become visible again. This is what I have tried so far but doesn't seem to work:
Code: Private Sub txtAllocationID_AfterUpdate() If Me.txtAllocationID.Value >= 0 Then Me.frmStockAllocated.Visible = True Else Me.frmStockAllocated.Visible = False End If
End Sub
My allocation ID is a primary key so all auto number generated and only an integer.
Scenario: When I enter a stock ID of 121 and search I want the subform to remain hidden as there is no Allocation ID related to that Stock ID (see attachment tblAllocated). If I was to enter a stock ID of 122 I want the subform to become visible as the stock ID has a relation with the Allocation ID 6 and therefore the textbox txtAllocation ID would display '6' in it.
I have researched but couldn't find any working filter criteria for subform criteria.i have used the code, searching the web but still no luck.I have attached the picture and sample northwind database (accdb). I just want to filter customers in Orders navigation using text criteria.
I have a Form named 'Opening_Screen' which consists of various objects - Combo Boxes, RadioButtons, Check Boxes which the user can select. There is a subform called 'Report' within the 'Opening_Screen'. The source object of the subform is a query (called 'QueryX').
There is a button called 'Generate Report' on the form which when clicked - an SQL must run on the backend, update the query which in turn should update the Subform 'Report'.For me, the QueryX gets updated, but the subform doesn't. When I manually switch the form to Design View and then back to Form View - the subform gets updated. I tried the same through the vba code instead, but it doesn't update the subform.
Then I created a form named MAINF with FLOWER_SHIPPING as its RecordSource. The form only has one TextBox: Date.
Then in MAINF, I created a subform named SUBF with FLOWER_SHIPPING as its RecordSource, in Datasheet View. It shows all fields in FLoWER_SHIPPING as it is.
The link between MAINF and SUBF is Date.
I want SUBF to only show record based on the Date chosen in Date TextBox in MAINF. So far, yes it did what I want. But with problems:
1) [SOLVED] SUBF does show record based on the Date I've chosen in MAINF's TextBox Date, but it ALWAYS ALSO shows the first record on the FLOWER_SHIPPING table. And the date in the first record always changed into the Date I just input in the TextBox Date in the MAINF. Automatically.
Example: I chose 6/22/2013, and there are 2 records with that date. the SUBF will show 3 records: those 2 records + the first row of FLOWER_SHIPPING with its Date automatically set to 6/22/2013.
2) When I chose a date in MAINF, I have to click everywhere in the SUBF so that it will refresh its content. Can I have it refresh automatically everytime after a date chosen?
