Forms :: Using Calendar To Control A Test Box - Click Search For Specific Date
Jul 2, 2013
I am trying to allow a calendar to search through a text box with a large amount of data in which will have headings using the date so i wanted to use a calendar search. Hopefully this will be be like the find function in word where you type (or in this case select a date) then click search or next which will take you to that specific date.
I have a date control and on the Click event I run the following code. Trouble is the Date Control stops working, ie you can't change the date after one click ?
CODE.
Private Sub Calendar7_Click() weekofyeartxt.Value = DatePart("ww", Calendar7.Value) End Sub
I need to set calendar control as criteria for date in VBA query. I cannot find Calendar control in ActiveX tools in Acc 2010. Where is it?
Date picker seams like very slick and simple solution but I can see it only in database. As it might be solution to my problem, can date picker be used on a form as criteria for VBA query?
I'm recently added the CalendarControl 9.0 into some combo boxes in order to quickly input dates - however only the dates are then added, not the day of the week. The day of the week would be really useful if it was visible as the form is outputted to a HTML page for our intranet for other staff to see.
My (relevant) code at the moment is as follows:
-------------------------------------------------
Option Compare Database Option Explicit Dim cboOriginator As ComboBox
Private Sub cboStartDate_MouseDown(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single)
Set cboOriginator = cboStartDate
ocxCalendar.Visible = True ocxCalendar.SetFocus
If Not IsNull(cboOriginator) Then ocxCalendar.Value = cboOriginator.Value Else ocxCalendar.Value = Date End If End Sub
Private Sub cboEndDate_MouseDown(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single)
Set cboOriginator = cboEndDate
ocxCalendar.Visible = True ocxCalendar.SetFocus
If Not IsNull(cboOriginator) Then ocxCalendar.Value = cboOriginator.Value Else ocxCalendar.Value = Date End If End Sub
Private Sub Form_Load() ocxCalendar.Visible = False End Sub
Private Sub ocxCalendar_Click() cboOriginator.Value = ocxCalendar.Value cboOriginator.SetFocus ocxCalendar.Visible = False Set cboOriginator = Nothing End Sub
a couple of months ago i found a celndar control replacement that Microsoft kindly provided. i have made a few mods that allow me to change the day/week etc. i would now like to tell it to open on a certain date. the reason is that on each of my client records i have 'Future Appointments'. i would like to be able to select a future appointment and click a button that then opens a form that includes the calendar and go to the date of the future appointment. the calendar controls the diary. whatever date the calendar is on the diary matches. so to change to the date of the appointment i need to change the calendar date.
that didnt work as the calendar does not seem to recognise it.
i am totally lost with this as i dont even understand most of the code that is behind the calendar, so i dont know what i am looking for to use to open it on a given date.
Dont be overwhelmed by the following, but it may require some extensive thought and I dont expect everyone to understand....
I want to have a unbound form control a subform. On the form I have an unbound text area entitled txtDate. In this area it displays the current date being viewed. I have put left and right buttons on the main form that will add (+1) one day to the date being shown and subtract (-1) one day from the date being shown. I want to conrol it though the "On Click" but I dont know what to enter in the "On Click" field that will allow me this. The reason is, co-insiding with the previous, when the date is changed, the subform is also changed to a new day. Therefore instead of displaying 24 hours of today, you can view 24 hours of yesterday, tomorrow and so on. See, if one is to set the onclick to be: Me.txtDate=Me.txtDate-1, or Me.txtDate=Me.txtDate+1, it calls for a custom macro and I dont know why. I know it somehow resides in some similar command set up.
I also need to know how to make the subform bound but continous, and what exactly does that mean?
A form with a text box expecting a date has the validation property as, >#1/1/2010# And Is Not Null. If a date is entered older that this the error is caught however if the field is left null it is not caught as an error. I have tried several modifications of this statement with the same results.
I want to use the calendar control on a form, but cannot find a way to 'minimise' it when it is not needed. I feel sure that there is a way to do this. Can anyone help?
I am having an issue with the sort order on a subform.
Basically I have a main form with Client Details and a subform hich displays the associated test results for this client. Each client can have multiple test results which should be displayed in date order.
Initially the form was based on the table 'TestResults' and I set up the form with the Orderby property set to the field 'TestDate' and OrderByOnLoad set to True. This didn't work and the records were displayed in random order.
Next I tried setting up the form based on an SQL query with the field 'TestDate' sorted in Ascending order - same result. Tried this with OrderBy and OrderByOnLoad both set/unset as a pair and individually - always the same result.
How can I get the subform to display the test results in date order?
I want the calendar to show the date in the field [Next Payment Due] - whenever this value changes, the calendar date should change accordingly.
I want the calendar to be assigned to a text box (txtCalDate), so this would also contain the date of [Next Payment Due].
However, If the calendar date is changed (on the calendar), I want txtCalDate to show this date, but [Next Payment Due] to stay as it's original value. Next Payment Due can only change the value, but not be changed itself.
So I presume VBA would be needed to say when [Next Payment Due] is changed, make calendar this date. And then to simply assign the calendar to txtCalDate so if calendar is changed, this will change with the new date.
On the form I need to give the user the option to select a 'from date' and 'to date' and for this I have put in 2 calender controls which have the same control source(same table column). The problem I am facing is when I select a date from one calendar, the other calendar control automatically populates with the same date and vice versa.
I need to have a functionality where 2 different date can be selected and then when the Search button is clicked, then data within the date ranges should be displayed.
what changes I need to make to acomplish this ? find a screenshot of the form attached.
I have created a Datasheet Form which when opens shows lots of records. I was looking to see if there was a way that if i clicked on a specific field name within a record it would open a new form with all the information of that record only.
How can I move to control on form when user clicks on another control on same form? In other words... have set validation on controls and unless I disable all the other controls on form until I need it enabled, user can click on other control and get out of the validation sequence. Need to send user back to control they were on when they click on a different control elsewhere...
I have a simple application where a user clicks on the name of the person he wants to update from a drop down box.
The record is then retrieved and the fields are filled on the form. The user will then enter a value in the # in household field. The user is then required to click on the save button to write the record for this person.
I do not have strong users and they invariably forget to save the record and go on to the next person, resulting in the record not being updated.
I coded a message box as part of the save button which displays "person was successfully updated" and then instructed the user to make sure that they see this message before they go on to the next person. They still fail to update correctly.
My question:
Is there a way when the user selects a person from the drop down box and it is loaded on the form, to warn the user that they have NOT updated this person, before they go to the next person?
I don't know what else I can do with these users. They are all volunteers and elderly and the application is for a Food Pantry.
I have a task completion database. Each record of model consists of an expiry date. I need to review and update the records before the expiry date. Each model may have more than one record as I have updated the models a couple of times. I would like to select all of records with the expiry date less than 30 days so I can plan to review and update them on time. How to select all these records.
How to open a search form with a mouse click on Button_Search
My idea is to pop up a form where user can enter the search text and select the required name and get back to the old form with all details about the entry. This form alone is workign fine. I want to call it in a mouse click. and pass the data back to old form.
I have a form which displays the records from a query (i have included a picture of this form) and allows me to filter them and create a report from the filter.
I'd like to be able to select a record with the record selectors (or preferably without) - and then go onto edit it in a new window and save the edit...
If possible also to select a record with or without record selectors and click a button to delete the record
Is there an efficient way to have default text in a textbox on my form (like a search box), but have it so that when a user focuses on the textbox (to type in a search term), the word should disappear.
Just like the search box on windows 7 start menu.
Then, is there a way to have the default text not be the actual text in the box? Otherwise, my search box will search the default text.
If Me.Setfilter.Caption = "Search By Hedging Program" Then Me.Filter = "Hedging Program" Me.FilterOn = True cmd.Setfilter.Caption = "Don't Search By Hedge Program" Else Me.FilterOn = False cmd.Setfilter.Caption = "Search By Hedging Program" End If
Hedging program is the column from the table I am trying to filter, it is a yes/no column. I want it to return all yes values in my query if it says search by hedging program and if it says Don't search by hedging program I want it to disregard the filter. I also have it set so that when I click the button it changes the caption from one to the other. So I don't know if I really need the cmd.setfilter lines because they may do the same as my command button on click function.
I currently have a database where new records can be entered in a "New Part" Form and Records can be viewed(but not altered) in a "Part Search" Form. The forms are the same except one is allowed to edit. I have also created another form where I am trying to search the "Part Search" Form via a tracking number. I want to have a text box where users enter a tracking number then click the button to take them to the record on the "Part Search" Form.
I want to add a date from viewing the calendar. When I click on the date text box then want to see the calendar and I will choose the date and that date will appear in the text box.
I have a form based on a query in datasheet view. What i would like is to show only those records that fulfill the truepart of iif statment, and do not show the ones that fulfill the false part.
I have the following fileds in the query
month currency 1 checkbox currency 2 checkbox sum
In the form, the control named month contains the following code:
control source: =IIf([checkbox1]=no;[month];0)
So this gives the appropriate months, but also shows the all other records with a 0 in the month field. I would like to get only the records shown that are correct with the truepart of the statement.
