Forms :: VBA Calendar Control With Two Text Boxes

May 14, 2013

I want the calendar to show the date in the field [Next Payment Due] - whenever this value changes, the calendar date should change accordingly.

I want the calendar to be assigned to a text box (txtCalDate), so this would also contain the date of [Next Payment Due].

However, If the calendar date is changed (on the calendar), I want txtCalDate to show this date, but [Next Payment Due] to stay as it's original value. Next Payment Due can only change the value, but not be changed itself.

So I presume VBA would be needed to say when [Next Payment Due] is changed, make calendar this date. And then to simply assign the calendar to txtCalDate so if calendar is changed, this will change with the new date.

Calendar Control And Text Box

Jul 25, 2006

Hi,
I have a form that has 2 Calendar Controls that is used to select a Start Date and an End Date. I then have some code that will enter all the dates inbetween into the database.

One thing I would like to have on the form, is when the users selects a date from each calendar. The date is displayed in a text box under it. Just to have a visual double check to make sure they selected the right month/day/year before they hit the submit button.

Anyone know what code I would need to put in my form to make it do this?

Thanks
Chris.

Calendar And Text Boxes To Show Info

Apr 20, 2005

Ok, nobody chew me out... I know there's over 500 posts regarding calendars on here because I've read just about every single one and haven't found any answers yet. All of the posts that vaguely resembled what I'm looking for had no replies.

Here's what I'm trying to do:

First I've got 4 tables, each has different data including a start date, start time, end date, end time and description. Each table pertains to a completely different subject. The tables are already populated (imported from excel).

I've got a form with a calendar control (Ms Cal 7) in it... and that's about has far as I have gotten.

I would like to be able to open the form and have the calendar show all events for the current date (i found how to make the calendar show the current date, it's just populating the text boxes that I'm having a problem with).

So, here's how I would like it to work...

When the form is opened, you can click on a specific date (or don't click anything and it shows the current date). Then the textboxes show the info for that date.

Example:

Calendar = 4/20/2005 (Calendar control here)

Textbox1 = select from table A where subject="codereds" and start date = calendar control date

Textbox2 = select from table B where subject ="codeblues" and start date = calendar control date

Textbox3 = select from table C where subject="codegreens" and start date = calendar control date

Ok, anybody got a clue on how I can do this because I've had no luck finding it anywhere.

Thanks ;)

Forms :: Using Multiple Calendar Controls With Same Control Source?

Feb 26, 2014

On the form I need to give the user the option to select a 'from date' and 'to date' and for this I have put in 2 calender controls which have the same control source(same table column). The problem I am facing is when I select a date from one calendar, the other calendar control automatically populates with the same date and vice versa.

I need to have a functionality where 2 different date can be selected and then when the Search button is clicked, then data within the date ranges should be displayed.

what changes I need to make to acomplish this ? find a screenshot of the form attached.

Control Array In Access / Text Boxes As Objects

Apr 13, 2005

Hi,

Is it possible to simulate a control array in MS Access?

I’m using a restricted version of Access 2000. I can use all normal features but some Active X controls are not licensed and it will not be possible to licence them in time I have available for my project.

I have a form which has 14 combo boxes and 24 text boxes to allow user to choose shift type and enter start and end times of shift. I know in VB 6 I have used control arrays which has vastly simplified the whole code.

I have experimented with treating the text boxes as objects and trying to create a string with the first part of the name and using numbers to differentiate between the textboxes but Access does not seem to like this.

The code I have tried is below:

Dim obTextBox As TextBox
Dim str As String

str = "Forms!frm_Shift_Entry_3!txtFST2"

‘Set obTextBox = Forms!frm_Shift_Entry_3!txtFST
'Set obTextBox = str

obTextBox.Name = "txtFST2"
obTextBox.Value = Format("12:35", "Short Time")
'b = 7
'obTextBox.Name = "txtFST" & b
'obTextBox.Value = Format("17:12", "Short Time")

commented out sections are other options I have tried.

Can anyone point out any mistakes I’m making or advise whether this is possible in Access?

Thanks

Frozbie

Text Boxes Control Source = Calculation Can't Save Sum

Oct 7, 2005

Hello,
I've got a text box on my form header with a calculation in the control source that adds values from other text boxes on my form.
My problem is that since the calculation is in the control source of my text box I can not save the sum of the calculation to a field on the forms bound table.
Is there a way to move this calculation out of the control source and still have the calculation populate this text box with the sum of the calculation, so I can choice a field in which to save this calculations sum.

Calculation in the text box control source=
[Tot40yrcomp]+[Totfelt1536]+[Totfelt3036]+ there will be many more other text boxes added.

Thanks--Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Forms :: Changing Multiple Text Boxes To Combo Boxes?

Mar 14, 2014

there is a way to convert multiple text boxes to combo boxes all at once, rather than right clicking on them one at a time, and selecting Change to.

I have a form with about 50 fields and most of them need to be converted to combo boxes. I'd always done it manually one at a time up to this point, but I'm trying to build up my learning and look for smarter ways to do things.

Forms +List Boxes +Text Boxes With Formulas

Nov 8, 2004

I have a form with a List Box (List BoxA) that returns a value from a query. I then have a Text Box (Text BoxB) that uses the value from List BoxB and multiplies it by let's say 2. It works giving me the correct value but only becomes visible after I click inside List BoxA. How can I make it visible as soon as the form is opened? I tried refreshing the form data, didn't work and I tried a requery macro which didn't work either.

Forms :: Cascading Combo Boxes Don't Show Control Source Value Until Requery

Dec 31, 2013

I have a set of cascading combo boxes. When a value is selected in Cat 1 ID, it narrows down the selections in Cat 2 ID which narrows down the selections in Cat 3 ID.

However, the values don't show up for columns Cat 2 ID or Cat 3 ID until I enter the row. Then I have it set to requery the fields because the underlying data isn't populated. But then when I leave the row, the values go away.

Why doesn't it show the underlying value from the table? Each column is bound to a field in a table - I would assume that the recorded value would show up. Did I miss something easy?

I've attached a picture of exactly what I mean.

Forms And Text Boxes

I have a form with numerous text boxes, combo boxes etc. I want to make two of the text boxes active (visible) only if the value entered is "Yes" in the text box above. Otherwise, if the value entered is "No," I want these other text boxes to remain hidden. For instance, if the user selects "Yes" the DVD is out on loan, I want three other text boxes to appear so that the user can enter the borrower's name, date borrowed, and date returned. Thanks!

Calendar Control

Aug 26, 2006

I am using Access 2003. I have a form with two text fields that I have configured as "Short Date". I set up Calendar Control as a new popup form (frm_Calendar) and set up the date fields to popup the Calendar on double click. I have 2 problems.

1. The calendar does not want to default to today's date. I tried entering "=Date()" into the "Value" field of Calendar Control, but it removes that code after I click off of it. So how can I get Calendar Control to default to today's date?

2. When I double click on a calendar date, I want that date to be posted into the date field. How do I get it to do that? I looked at all the properties, but did not see a way to tell the date field to accept the calendar entry.

Thanks for your help.

Help With Updating Text Boxes On 2 Different Forms

Jul 7, 2006

I have similar text boxes on two different forms. On the first form when I add a value and click the add button it automatically submits that value to the second form. However, on the second form when I select a value and click add, it deletes the previous value given by the first form. I have written code that allows the user to input more than one value on the second form, which works fine.(The previous values do not get deleted) I want to write some code that allows the user to submit a value on the first form, and that value remains on the second form's text box even when the user adds more values on the second form. Also the values are inputted to a table.

One previous suggestions was to put field2=field1 & field 2. However this does not work.

Any suggestions would be a of great help. I am pretty new at Microsoft Access. Thanks for the help

Forms :: Totaling Up 7 Text Boxes

Nov 15, 2014

I have a form that has 7 text boxes, each of which contains a time value (hh:mm)

Two of them are to be permanently totaled into one text box (lets call it Rate1), and the other five are to be totaled into another text box (lets call it Rate2) - BUT, if the value of a combo above each one of the five text boxes is set to 'BH', I want the value to be totaled in with the Rate1 totals.

I did think about doing an After Update event on each of the five textboxes where the value of the totals text box is updated by doing the current value + the value in the textbox (and the totals text box that is updated is dependent on the value of the combo) - but that idea landed flat on its face upon the realisation that if a user entered a value, then decided to change that value, the old value would not be deleted from the total.

Issues With Calendar Control

May 10, 2005

I am creating an employee scheduling application to use for ambulances. In one form, I am trying to list those scheduled to the various shifts by date so that we can edit an individual day.

I firstly, want to open the form with the today's date and the employees accordingly. I am using the following code in the form_Current(), the form_GotFocus(), form_load(), and form_Open(Cancel as Integer) subs.

ctlCalendar.Value = Date

I cannot get it to display to today's date.

I am then wanting to pass the date to the query which selects the employees that are working each duty position. When the form opens it opens the oldest record, not today's. I think that there's a problem with the WHERE portion of my SQL statement.

When a user selects a date on the Calendar Control, I want to re-run the query and display the employee's scheduled to work on the selected date.

Any ideas?

Calendar Control Question

May 26, 2006

I have a form with calendar control 11.0 placed on it.

When the form opens, the calendar is invisible.

When the cursor enters a field called ClassDate the calendar (calClassCalendar) becomes visible.

When the user clicks a date on the calendar control I want that date to appear in in the ClassDate field.

I would have expected the Calendar Control to have an OnClick Event Property that would have allowed something like
ClassDate.value=calClassCalendar.val

To my complete dismay there is NO OnClick event on the Calendar Control.

How to I get the Calendar Control's date to display in the ClassDate field?

Thanks for the help.

Rick
