Forms :: Create One Form / One Form Is Blank
Feb 2, 2014I have 2 tables and I can create 2 forms from them but when I try to use both tables to create one form the form is blank.

Forms :: Way To Continue To Blank Form After Entering Information Into Previous Blank Form?
Mar 25, 2013When entering information into a blank form, I would like to be able to continue entering information to another additional blank form after my last entry. Is there a way to continue to a blank form after entering information into the previous blank form? I would just like to continue without having to close the entire form and then reopening another form.

Jun 6, 2013I have one table containing name of restaurant with its address etc. Then i created another table to list out the restaurant workers names and details. Just as an example,

I have the main form that has all the restaurant details only. And i have another form containing the Staff information. Please note the two table have a relation and it works well.
Now to make it user friendly(basically easier for the lazy ones), I dragged the staff contact form on to my main form and displayed it as a datasheet(basically a sub form).
Now, my boss does not want users to add/delete on this sub form(datasheet). So,he wants me to create buttons to open new record of staff for each restaurant(new form)
My issue is with opening a new record to enter a new person to the staff list and give them a role as well in form view.The new form has

Mar 20, 2014What I would like to do is create a list box that will only display the information from another form that is related to the current form.So I have a form call Equipment Catalog and that form is related to Equipment features 1 to M relationship and the Equipment Features is related to a Features form M to 1.
So what I want to do is display all the related equipment features in a listbox that is related to the current PK of that form.So if there is only one feature on one form the list box will only display that one item however is there is 6 features on another it will display all 6.I have been trying SQL and Queries but I still can't get it to work.
Forms :: Based On User Selection In A Form / Create New Records For Subsequent Form
Feb 3, 2014The user will be creating a new project that contains a bunch of releases. The releases have standard names which are stored in a table tbl_ReleaseNames It should be noted that the list of names is not static.
The user selects which of the releases pertains to their project and then based on their selections, new records would be created in tbl_RFP_Release and then a subsequent form would open where it would display each of these newly created releases where they could enter additional information. I thought of creating an unbound checkbox associated with each of the standard names, and then checking to see if the checkbox was checked and then creating the new records followed by opening up the new form.
Forms :: Create Search Form That Returns Subset Of Other Form Pages?
Sep 25, 2013I've built a PostgreSQL database for some ecology data and am trying to use MS Access 2010 to make a front-end for it.
I've created a form to display site data; it includes such fields as site ID, site name, county, state, landscape, etc. (There are more, but if I can get the idea down with a couple of these, I should be good to handle the rest). One can click through the form and see 14 pages of site details, which is fine because there are 14 sites.
What I want to do now is make a search form in which one can enter values for site ID, site name, county, etc, and somehow get the pages of the display form that match those values. It's not terribly important to me how that output looks - whether it's a list of matches that allows for clicking on a match and showing just one page of the display form, or whether it's a filtered subset of the display form pages that one still clicks through to view them all.
if there is code to write, where do I type it? Do I start my search form by making a form with the search fields as values, or is there some other way? How do I make those search fields into search boxes rather than display boxes?

May 13, 2014I am trying to create a form to enter data in a table. I would like to make it pull in info from a switchboard. If the record already exists I would like it to find it and allow me to edit the info. If the record doesn't exist I would like to be able to add a new record with the data input. What is the best way to accomplish this?

Nov 22, 2013I have comboboxes on forms that i have entered the values for the drop down list in.They are on a form with textboxes and go through a one to many relationship via an intermediate table.I deleted one value from the list as it was no longer required and i also deleted the records that used to use that name.
When i looked at the list, the value is still there?I tried inserting a new Combo Box - the same?Will it clear if i create a new blank Database and import everything?

Jun 26, 2013In Access 2007 I'm trying to print out a blank form so users can fill in rough notes while on the phone with a client, etc. I currently have a print macro button on the form, but the entire page shows up blank (titles, everything) when I try to print a an empty form.
A possible solution I've thought of is to check if the form is blank and then open and print a separate report that's just a copy of the form and printing that, but it doesn't seem like a very elegant solution.

Feb 26, 2015On a continuous form, I would like the user will add a new record via button click instead of popping open a blank record at all times. With AllowAdditions set to False on Form load, and turning it back on button click I can get a new record added. I am having trouble determining where to turn it back off. After Insert - doesn't seem to delete the blank row until I move to the blank row, so this doesn't accomplish what I am looking for.
AfterUpdate (for each field on continuous form) - this did what I wanted, but I was only able to update one field on the form for the new record. The combo boxes then were viewable, but I could not make a selection.

Oct 26, 2013I have a form that I would like to have blank fields when it is opened. I put the following in the "On Open" Event field of the form properties:

However, it does not work. I have an unbound combo box on the form for users to select from, in which all the records on the form will populate with whatever is selected in the unbound combo box. I thought this was the problem at first, but even if I remove that from the form, the form still opens to the first record. If I set the "Data Entry" field to "Yes" on the Data tab, that works, but then none of the fields populate when using the combo box.

Feb 20, 2014I have a continuous pop up form which, at the most, will contain about 10 records. The ten records take up less than half the screen space - but there is a bottom half to the form - even though there is nothing there. How can I get rid of the unused space on my form?

Sep 7, 2013I have a [Order Central table] that compiles products from four different categories that employees can order from.
Employees using the database will select from four categories on buttons which opens up the order form EX: [Category 1 form].
They enter their order info on [Category 1 form] into a subform sourced from [Category 1 Table] called [Category 1 subform].
Is there a way that they could select the "Category 1" button, which would run a macro opening [Category 1 form] with the [Category 1 subform] having a where condition of 1=0 (or just so that the subform appears blank)?
Forms :: Records Don't Show When Created From Blank Form?
Aug 29, 2013Very suddenly today, when I'd done seemingly nothing, all of the records from my form that I'd built from a blank form disappeared, with the exception of the first record. When I try to just close everything down, nothing changes. When I put in a new record to the form, however, it's saved in the table. But when I save and close, the form goes back to only having the first record! This is very annoying, for easily perceivable reasons. I even tried creating the form from scratch, to see if it's some residual SQL update code acting funny, and nothing changed! It seems to work if I select a table and just create a form, though. It doesn't even work when it's a splitform and whatnot.

Jun 5, 2014I have created a navigation form with quick access to the forms and reports I use most often. The Navigation Form (which I named Control Panel) automatically lands on the Tutor_Information Form on a current record. However, I would like for it to open to a blank form instead while retaining the ability to access the current records. Individually, when opening the Tutor_Information Form from the Navigation Panel, it opens to a blank record.
I used a 2 step macro
1. OpenForm
2. GoToRecord - New.
How can I make it do the same thing when landing on the Navigation Form (Control Panel)? I am using Access 2013.

Feb 14, 2014I have a form that I populate after making selections in two combo boxes but when I load the form the text boxes are already filled in with the first record. The combo boxes load blank, which is what I want.
How do I get the rest of the form to be blank on load? It is made up of text boxes and check boxes that are all bound. Will this only work if they are unbound?

May 15, 2014I have a subform with a textbox in the footer to count[id]. then on my main form i have another textbox that has a control source of =[subform].[form]![subformfootercontrol].
However when the subform updates the main form text is blank. typically i see a ?#Name or#Error if the control is pointing to the wrong place, but i have never see it stay blank.

Jun 7, 2013I have a tabbed navigation form. I have a form on one of the tabs, [tab1frm] that a query that consists of 6 fields that are each from a different query.as the record source. This shows a percentage field, an image field, and a count field for current month and then then the same fields for year-to-date.
The problem is that when there are no records for the current month, the whole form [tab1frm] is blank. I read that if no records are returned this can happen, but since there are always records returned for year-to-date, I don't know why its happening. Is there any way to make blank fields show up or to show the most recent records so the form is never blank?

Jun 13, 2013I have decided to move away from Switchboard in Access 2010, to what I find to be more user-friendly; the Navigation Forms.
However, when I attempt to export any of the data from my navigation forms, the result is a blank Excel sheet. I can easily go into the forms themselves on the left navigation panel and export from there, but when myself or a user attempts to do this from the navigation forms themselves; well, the blank Excel sheet is the result.
How do you create a work-around, so that it is possible to export to Excel from these navigation forms?

Mar 30, 2013My form was working fine but when I added an extra tab it started showing as completely blank in design view. When I deleted the tab I had added I still was left with the same problem!
I've attached an image of the form properties. I want to use the form to enter data so it needs to show even if there are no records.
I had read that it could be if there is no data but typing data in the tables hasn't worked either.

May 6, 2015I've recently decided to move a database that had all its information on 1 table and divided it into multiple tables.
Attached is the relationship as well as the form.
The issue I have is that when I click the form, it only shows a blank record with none of previous records.
Data entry is already set to NO. I'm wondering if it's an issue with my relationships, tblStudioDescription is the parent table and the others are child tables so I linked them with the ID and set referential integrity.

Dec 17, 2014I am having an interesting time on a project. I am trying to create a small inventory management database with BOM (bill of materials) control.Today I am working on how to create the BOM's. In case your not familiar with inventory management, a BOM is basically a list of items and quantities used when creating a product.
Since it is possible for a single BOM to have over 200 Items associated with it, I can not have a single table with all my BOM's (fields max at 255)
So I was thinking I would be able to have a Master table with the BOM list and then create individual tables for each specific BOM.I am not 100% sure how to make this all work together but I am struggling forward on my quest..
I was hoping I could create a form for BOM management, (create/edit/delete) but since I can not keep the BOMS in a single table I would need this form to create the new table.
Is it possible for a form to create a table? or do I have to create the table first than have a specific form per table to do the editing? or perhaps a drop down selector to choose which BOM/Table I am working on.
Forms :: Create A Quotation Form?
Dec 18, 2013The current database has the following tables (fields):-
1. Salesman List (Salesman, Supervisor)
2. Customer List (Customer No, Customer Name, Salesman)
3. Product List (Product Name, Product No, Price)
4. Quotation list (Quotation No, Salesman, Customer No, Customer Name, Product Name, Product No, Price) - The data of this table is input by a quotation form.
I'm trying to create a quotation form (by using the quotation list) for others to input. My questions are:-
1. In the quotation form, there's a Supervisor field (which is not in the quotation list table). I want the value in the Supervisor field to show up according to the Salesman selected in the form. So, I'm using the sub-form method (Main form:Quotation form; Subform: Salesman List form). Am I doing correct?
2. While inputing data into the form, one should select Salesman first and then Customer Name (by doing so, only the customers of which the Salesman is responsible are shown in the list for selection - this will need to link up the customer list table). How can I do this?
3. For Product No and Product Name in the form, we assume one customer may ask for quotations of many items. When I just copy and paste the Product No and Product Name several times in order to create several fields, I find that when I input one field (let's say Product No), all other Product No fields will show up the same product no as well. They are not treated separately. How should I fix this problem?
4. For the product price, I want the price in the Product List will show up according to the product I choose in the form. But then, it will allow me to amend as needed.
5. Finally, I want to place the save and submission buttons at the end of the form. Once it's done, the form will be sent to the Supervisor. The supervior will review and approve if correct. The Salesman can look up the database and be able to see the status of the quotation as:new/ waiting for approval/ approved by.... by opening the submitted quotation form (the status will be shown on the top of the form).
