Forms :: Exporting Form To Another Database?

Apr 16, 2014

I'm trying to export a form to another database. I've tried both simply copy/paste and using the export function. In both cases the form is copied to the other database, but my buttons go missing. Is there a way to move the form to another database and keep it intact?

Forms :: Exporting Completed Form To PDF VBA

Mar 20, 2013

I have a form that a user fills out and the record is not uploaded to the database until the user hits the submit button. In other words, if the user closes the form without saving, the record is not inserted.

My end goal is to have the user click the button and have 3 things happen:

1) Record inserted into the database
2) A PDF of the record is saved to a per-identified directory
3) An outlook new message window opens with recipients pre-entered and the newly created PDF included as an attachment.

I can achieve steps 1 and 2 no problem. However, the way I get the PDF is by having the VBA simply print and the user selects the Adobe PDF. This does not let the VBA dictate the directory (or file name) and then makes me completely stumped for step 3.

Forms :: Exporting To Excel Via Navigation Form

Mar 15, 2013

I have decided to move away from Switchboard in Access 2010, to what I find to be more user-friendly; the Navigation Forms.

However, when I attempt to export any of the data from my navigation forms, the result is a blank Excel sheet. I can easily go into the forms themselves on the left navigation panel and export from there, but when myself or a user attempts to do this from the navigation forms themselves; well, the blank Excel sheet is the result.

How do you create a work-around, so that it is possible to export to Excel from these navigation forms?

I am fairly new to Access 2010.

Exporting Database Into Exe File?

Nov 8, 2011

I wonder if there is a way of exporting (or something) the database into an exe-file or something? I would like it to be as easy as possible to use for users that cannot control Access. In other words, I don't want to be able to be able to make changes to all the tables, querys, macros, etc. I only want the master form to start when I start the database (I use a macro for that).

Is it also possible to use it without having access installed on you computer?

Exporting Records To An Archive Database

Aug 2, 2005

I have been trying to figure out how to do this and the transferdatabase function wouldn't do what I needed. I have a table that has a bunch of records, each being a request for cad work somebody wants me to do. I change the status of each one to pending, working, or complete. Anyway I want to only keep the completed task records in the database for 90 days. After that the records will be exported to an archive database and purged from the working database. The problem I face is not getting the records I need “I used date stamps ;)” but getting the records I filtered to append the archive database table and not overwrite it. I made backups ;) of my db and am testing on those and cant figure this out. Below is the code I used to export. Like I said it overides the table rather than append...

DoCmd.TransferDatabase acExport, "Microsoft Access", _
"X:Archive.mdb", acTable, "tRequest", _
"tRequest"
MsgBox "its done"
Any ideas, pointers, stern words and a link to a post I missed, anything to help is appreciated. :o
Thanks,
Eric

Is It Possible To Synchronise By Exporting And Importing Database Objects?

Aug 14, 2007

:o:confused:
I'm desperately searching for a way to synchronise different copies of the same access 2003 database i created. I have tried brief case synchronisation, and I have also tried the replication manager that comes with access but they both haven't been much help.
My experience with them leads me to believe that they both work best with a LAN or internet connection.
I'm seeking a solution that will work without a LAN or internet connection. Something that will copy my tables and other required objects to a folder that i can copy and move to another pc where another copy of the database resides. It should then import the same tables and objects and hence synchronise the copy of the database.
I recently saw a visual foxpro database that has the kind of synchronisation solution i'm looking for. I think it works this way;it exports all the tables and necessary objects to a folder that it creates allowing you to copy or move this folder via portable storage device to another computer. It then synchronises by importing the tables and other objects from this folder into the database resident on that computer.
I think there might be a way to do this using macro's or VBA but alas my knowledge of these areas of access is very weak. Is there a way to recreate this functionality in access 2003 using VBA code?

Dim db As DAO.Database 'Inside the transaction.
Dim bInTrans As Boolean 'Flag that transaction is active.
Dim strSql As String 'Action query statements.

Then I can't export anything to it. I don't know why it should suddenly become read only. How do I make the database changeable, and not read only?

Exporting Data To Excel Form

Sep 18, 2012

When equipment is returned to our company the details are put into an access database, then the same details are filled into a excel sheet to be printed and handed around for other depments to fill in by hand then sign. I have been asked to see if it is possible to alter the database so that the appropriate parts of the excel sheet could be filled in automatically. You can see an example below, its only the sales section that comes from the database the rest is filled in by hand.

Is it possible to setup a query that would ask for say the RER number and serial number to find the correct record then export the data to fill in the right cells; or is it easier for me to try and recreate the excell sheet as an access report and have it filled in that way.

Forms :: Saving Form To Another Database?

Jul 5, 2013

I have tables, forms, and (will be) many data. But many data means that the file will be heavy (e.g. need a longer time to open it) and since it's located in server, meant that it'll also burden the servers when someone is accessing it. So, the idea is to make an access file consisted only of forms (and maybe tables), and another access file as the data-bank. And everytime the form is filled, it'll save the new data to the data-bank. So, it will be easier for the end-users to acess the form (e.g. saving time when opening the file).

My question is:

1) Is it really lessening the burden on server?

Because I think that even if the end-user only accessing the form, the form itself will be accessing the bank-data, and I do not see how it'll lessen all the process.

2) How to save to another database?

I used this command on VB:

Code:
Set db = CurrentDb

Can it be used to save the form's data to another access database? How?
