Is it possible in Access 2010 to create a textbox (Team) and a textbox (Captain) on a form that auto-fills depending on a key word in the (Data) textbox? The color is the key word.
For Example, if in Data:
The color is Blue Team auto-fills with Team One Captain auto-fills with Chris
The color is Green Team auto-fills with Team Two Captain auto-fills with Juli
The color is Tan Team auto-fills with Team Three Captain auto-fills with David
All of the values for the auto-fill are on (tblList) in separate columns:
Color Team Captain
Blue One Chris
Green Two Juli
Tan Three David
I have a report, in which i have a unbound text box i want to control the size of the text box as actual characters means,
if the word is in box is elephant so in report it show complete word then next and if the word is small like cat then it resize then the other word next to cat comes automatically at normal space by auto resizing of text box ..
I was trying to filter a word using Not Like "word" in my query cirteria, some data is blank also, From this record i want to retrieve the result. But when i use Not Like Criteria, filter is working but blanks columns are also filtered.
I want to display all records (including blanks) except what i shown in the criteria.
I have a filter (via textbox) on a form that only allows 1 character at a time to be typed (!!?) ie: after typing in "a" it highlights it, which means the next letter I type in, replaces the "a".When I use the mouse to re-click after the letter entered, it does allow further characters. What am I missing here? The code for the filter:Private Sub txtClientSearch_Change() On Error GoTo ErrorHandler Forms!frmClient.Filter = "Name Like " & Chr$(34) & "*" & Forms!frmClient!txtClientSearch.Text & "*" & Chr$(34) Forms!frmClient.FilterOn = TrueExitProcedure: Exit Sub ErrorHandler: DisplayError "txtClientSearch_Change", Me.Name Resume ExitProcedureEnd SubMany thanks!..Is it anything to do with Focus?
I have a subform in datasheet view for tracking calls from clients. The Client Name is a combination of the first and last name. I want to create a text box that allows me to start typing in the client name and it will filter for only those Clients that match. Currently, I have the following code (below) for the textbox, however when I start typing in a client name all the clients disappear from the table. The client name is in a combo box so I don't know if that is making a difference.
Private Sub Text3_Change() Dim strFilter As String Me.Refresh
I have a date textbox (Week_Ending) and number textbox (Staff_ID) in a form (frmHourEnter), when both have values I open another form (frmStaffReport) with textboxes (txtDateStart and cmbStaff).
How do I open the second form with the values of the first form pre-entered?
I have a database for billing. In my database, I have a form that consists of a main form "Order" and 2 subforms "OrderDetails" and "Customer" OrderDetails are to enter the products to be connected to the Order. All function super, but I want to have some information from one of the forms "copied" over to on of the others.
Here is what I would like
In the subform "OrderDetails" I have made a textbox that summarize all prices to a total, his tekstbox i called "Tekst31". I would like the amount in this textbox to appear in a field "Belb" in the main form "Order".
I have tried some different commands, but nothing has worked, also I have made a query which dose the same ting as the tekstboks, as the information in that tekstbox it not stored anywhere.
I have a text box on 'Forma' & a textbox (named text3) on 'Formb'. I want to copy the contents of the textbox from 'Formb' to the textbox on 'Forma'. I have used the following code in the textbox on 'Forma'....
=Forms![Formb]![Text3].text
This doesn't seem to be working whether both Forms are open or only 'Forma'. Could somebody please advise as to what I am missing. Your assistance is very much appreciated.
I have a continuous form based on table "INCOMES" that shows all the payments received, which mediums can be (field "PMNT_MEDIUM"):
- check - transfer - taxes - cash
Table "INCOMES" is filled using another form, but in this particular form I just want to show "check", "transfer" and "cash" (not "taxes") so that I can track all the cash incomes.
Note: taxes are loaded because they appear in my invoices and I need them there to reach the invoice total amount. So my form has a search bar which allows me to search by PMNT_MEDIUM listing all "checks", all "cash" or all "transfer". I can also search by payment number (meaning: check number). To that end I have a "search" button that applies the filter. And I have another button that "cleans" the filtering by "putting a "" in the search-bar and then calling the "on click" of the search button".
What I need is, no matter if I click over the "search" or "clean" button, it NEVER shows me the "taxes".Search button, on click code:
If IsNumeric(Me.busq_chq_med) Then Me.Filter = "[PMNT_MEDIUM_NUMB] =" & Me.SEARCH_BAR Else Me.Filter = "[PMNT_MEDIUM] like'" & Me.SEARCH_BAR & "*'" Me.Filter = "[PMNT_MEDIUM] like'" & Me.SEARCH_BAR & "*' or [INVOICE] like'" & Me.SEARCH_BAR & "*'" End If Me.FilterOn = True
I have a form that is showing data from 1 table. That table has 12 different fields on it and I want to be able to filter based on selections I make in a combo box in the header of the form. The filter string must be dynamic enough to allow filtering based on 1 criteria selected, or multiple criteria selected. For example:
If I have values in filter fields 3, 5, and 9 I'd want the filter string to be created as follows:
"...WHERE field3 = field3filter.value AND field5 = field5filter.value AND field9 = field9filter.value"
If I have values in only field 7, I'd want th efilter string to be created as follows:
"...WHERE field7 = field7filter.value"
And so on and so on.
I have created some filters before but all of the different VBA syntaxes I'm using seem to come up short.
I currently have two froms, "add record" and "add record cont." The reason I have two seperate forms is because when clients create a new record information needs to be saved to two different tables and when creating one from with fields from both tables I ran into many problems. The two tables are named : tblMain, tblFileLoc Currently there is a textbox on both forms named "fileID" the FileID in the first form is from tblMain and is the primary key for that table, the FileID on the second form "Add Record Cont." is just a normal field. When clients enter in the new FileID in the first form "Add Record" and then move onto the next form "Add Record Cont." i need access to bring the entered FileID from the first form and Fill it in the FileID field in the second form. Currently I have tried making the control source for the textbox on the second form = the textbox on the first form but it brought up an error.
I am using MS Acess2000 and need to make a report that will be passed around with production work. My primary key is the invoice number of the work order. Currently to open an invoice i have a macro, attached to a query with the following qualifiers; Like [Enter invoice]
This pulls up the current record fine. for the form and flags the folloing in the property filter sectin of the form
(((([CustomerTableMasterRef].[Invoice]) Like [Enter invoice])))
PART 2
Now I am trying to use microsofts how to filter a report using a forms filter... This picks up on the Invoice query as shown above but does not just insert the query results...
Is there better code or another way to approach this... Currently i am using:
Name:cmdOpenReport Caption: Open Report OnClick: [Event Procedure]
Private Sub CmdOpenReport_Click() If Me.Filter = "" Then MsgBox "Open an Invoice First" Else DoCmd.OpenReport "rptCustomers", acViewPreview, , Me.Filter End If End Sub
Using this code not only does my report not detect the correct fields to import data (no data is filled in) but it requerys the invoice or atleast should, which I could do with out all of that code...
When I click the filter button I get a blank message box titled 'Microsoft Access" and an OK button, when closed the filter works perfectly.I have checked this procedure in other forms and it works without showing the blank message box.The only difference with this form is that its control source is a union query.
How to match 4 character word or number or combination by identical 4 characters word or number or combination in one word have 10 or 15 characters.
I have to two separate tables (Table A and Table B). Table A has one column (Tag No) and Table B has about 15 columns with one column name Tag No as below
Table A
Table B
Tag No
Tag No
2009
ZZZ-2030-DC
2010
ZZZ-2010-M9P
[code]....
They're both in MS Access.I am trying to match 2 tables - columns (Tag No) with join query, but not success. I want to match 4 characters in Table-A with 4 similar characters in Table-B (Tag No) cell. What query is suitable to compare two tables.
My end goal is to populate a pre-existing table in an MS Word document with records from a query. The easiest way I've found (through scouring the internet) is to start with the code below (ran during OnClick() even in Access) to get the table the same size as the recordset:
Code: Dim wDoc As Word.Document Dim wTable As Word.Table Dim wCell As Word.Cell Set wDoc = appWord.Documents.Add(strDocLoc) wDoc.Visible = True
[Code] ....
The code will shrink the table down just fine if the table has more rows than the recordset +1 (for header column). My hangup with this is the last line ("Selection.InsertRowsBelow 5") isn't executing; rows are not being added to the table. I get no errors -- it just does nothing. I set it as "Selection.InsertRowsBelow 5" arbitrarily just to see if it would even add rows, and sure enough it's not.
In ContactIDForm it contain 1 textbox name 'TextBox' with Button Name 'Btn'
In ContactIDForm there is only 1 Text Box ContactIDTextBox and 1 Button. User Enters ID in TextBox and On Button Click Event it should check data from TextBox in Table name (ContactDetailTable) in field ContactID and if there is record matching, ContactInfoForm should Open else NewContactForm should open with ContactIDTextBox value in it.
Maybe this shouldnt even be done in a form as simple of a task i need. I have a query of multiple tables andi want to be able to export it to word with only a few of the columns from the query as well as displayings yes/no instead of -1/0. Basically im just trying to make a table in word so i can have all the correct pages headers and such to make our document control people happy.
Is there a way to publish a form to a word document and get the header of each column to appear at the top of each page? I noticed that if i export the form to HTML then copy and paste the table in the html file to word its works but thats a huge pain in the you know what, and the table ends up looking a bit odd in word and no amount of table formatting seems to fix that but thats a different issue.
i have a form which displays 2 charts, i am able to export them to word document but i donot know how to paste them one after the other. currently they get printed one over the other.
here is the code :
Code:
Private Sub cmd_Print_Click() Dim MyChartObj As Object Dim MyLineObj As Object Set MyChartObj = [Forms]![MainForm]![Sub_DisplayFm]![Graph_Chart] Set MyLineObj = [Forms]![MainForm]![Sub_DisplayFm]![Graph_Line] MyChartObj.SetFocus DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdCopy
I have a query that pulls information from a combo box in my form, now I've made a pivot form to report the outputs, however my legend will only display the first two letters of word... I need to show the entire word.
I am trying to take the data that is put into a form or report and export it to a certain document in word.
The user will be filling out a Reciept. On the form there will be a to and from box for them to fill out, along with many other options. Once the user enters in all the data required I want them to be able to click a button and it generate onto the attached file, in its perspective fields. Is there a way to match the documents to correspond to my program?
I would like to have a button (cmdPrintIntroLetter) on my Client Details form that takes the client name, address and company data of the record that I'm currently viewing and putting it into an address box in a Word document.
e.g. when I contact a new customer and input their details into my form I want to then be able to send them an introductory letter (standard wording) from me with just the click of a button.
FAO: FirstName LastName CompanyName Address1 Address2 Address3 Town County Postcode
I've been faffing around with concatenating my address fields into an address textbox in a report but I really don't like using a report to write a letter, it just feels wrong - on every level.I also want another button (cmdEmailBrochure) which opens an email template using the records email address and inserting the name of the client into the body of the email.
I am creating a database. I have all my forms, queries, tables, reports just as I need them. However, I would like to have a command button on my switchboard that will pull from a query to feed to a Word document (that's actually a letter on my company letterhead). I know a Macro has to be involved with this, but again, I have little to no knowledge of Macros. Also, I would like to be prompted to enter a client ID number when I click on this command button (because I only want to print a letter for a new client, not all of them).
I have 5 textboxes and a multiline textbox in a form in my Access Database. I am going to type several keywords in those textboxes and I am going to type an article in the multiline textbox.
What I need to do is I want to calculate the keyword density in the article. I can do that if i know how to search the whole text in the article and count the specific word. And I want a function to count all the words in the article too.
I would like to open a Word document using a button control on a form to a file path listed in a field on the form. I use the following code when I want to open a single specific document...
Dim wdApp As Word.Application, wdDoc As Word.Document On Error Resume Next Set wdApp = GetObject(, "Word.Application") If Err.Number <> 0 Then 'Word isn't already running Set wdApp = CreateObject("Word.Application") End If On Error GoTo 0 Set wdDoc = wdApp.Documents.Open(File path here) wdApp.Visible = True
...but in this case the file path I want to use will be designated by a field on the form. I know I could just use a hyperlink but I don't like the way it looks on the form. I would rather hide that field and have code pull that path when I hit the button.
So how would I change my code to make it so the value in the file path field on the form goes in where it says "File path here" in my code above?
I have a bit of a problem with a database in Access 2013. On 1 of the forms, I have a number of buttons which open other forms and filter the results using an embedded macro. All has been well until a few days ago when error 2950 pop up box started appearing. After fiddling around for a while it all works OK (without actually changing anything) until next time the database is opened. I checked to make sure the location is "trusted" and all seems OK.
