I have a combo box on a form that is liked to a table (current). That table has a list of available items and a count at the end of it. For example, apples, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, 4. Is it possible to have the combo box on the form subtract 1 from the count when an item is selected from the list? So when apple is selected the count of 4 is changed to 3.
I have a field called PriceSoldFor and I need to calculate and display this field multiplied by 3.4%. This is what I have tried and reading elsewhere it should work.In the Control Source of an unbound TextBox I have entered the following:
=[PriceSoldFor]*[.034]
But when I view the form the field displays the following:
I am creating a driving school database and have four different tables. Student, Instructor, Lesson and Lesson Type.
In the footer of my subform which works out what lesson type the student has taken and from which instructor, I have created a calculation to multiply the number of hours a student does to what type of lesson they take.
=([LengthOfLesson]*[cost]) (This works ok)
I then want to add all of these options together. I have tried:
=sum([OverallTotal]) in the footer (This doesn't seem to work)
and then
=[Booking].[Form]![OverallTotal] to show it in the form
The name of the subform is correct (booking) and name OverallTotal is also correct but I keep getting #error message.
I have a bound form to an invoices table. The form details all invoices raised, all payments made and an outstanding balance. The outstanding balance control is just a basic text box.
On form load, I go to the payment table and select all payments into a recordset, I then add up all payments and use the following calculation:-
Balance = InvTotal - paytotal
The Invtotal is the control on the form that has it's control source set as sum(invoicetotal)
The calculation used to work and the correct balance was displayed, indeed, for one particular client, the calculation works, but for all others, the summed value is blank and so the balance is effectively set to the paytotal value.
I know this is to do with the timing as the form loads and it's records/data are made available, as I have an update button that does exactly the same things as the form load and when pressed, all numbers work.....primarily because the summed invoicetotal value is now available in the form control.
I can see what is happening, but not sure why...I thought that form load gave you all records and would have populated the summed control before triggering the load event....obviously not.....
I'm pretty new to Access. I was wondering if it's possible to make a calculation for a specific row in an Access form.
I placed an example in the attachment (I made it quick in paint, because the actual Access form is in my language "Dutch" ):
Value1 and Value2 come from a database, so the amount of rows can change. When I click on "Calculate" on the first row, it should calculate 12 * 13 and show the solution only on row 1. If I click on "Calculate" on the second row, it should show the solution of 10 * 20 only on row 2.
I tried to solve this by using the following VBA code:
Private Sub Calculate_Click() Solution.Value = Value1.Value * Value2.Value End Sub
But if I click on the first "Calculate" button, it will fill all solutions with the first calculation (12 * 13).. The same happens when I click on "Calculate" on the second, third row etc.
I have a form that currently uses a "catch all" table for listing available equipment to choose from for an equipment field. I call it tblEquipment. What I want to do is to make it so when I type a name in (1 of 35) in one field of the current record, the record source for the equipment field immediately looks at a different table that has equipment available only for that name. To do this I plan on making 35 different tables with limited data originally found in tblEquipment. I would call these tblEquipment1, tblEquipment2, etc. I do not use a sub form, nor do I want to.
So my questions are:
1) can this be done 2)If it can be done, how can I do it?
I have a Suppliers database which contains a form that will allow me to place orders with Suppliers.The Main form has a combo box that allows me to select the supplier. The combo box is called SupplierID with the following:
Row source: SELECT Suppliers.SupplierID, Suppliers.CompanyName FROM Suppliers ORDER BY Suppliers.CompanyName;
The subform is called Stock Subform witha combo box called ProductID with the following:
Row source: SELECT DISTINCT Products.ProductID, Products.ProductName, Suppliers.CompanyName, Products.Discontinued FROM Suppliers INNER JOIN Products ON Suppliers.SupplierID=Products.SupplierID WHERE (((Products.Discontinued)=0)) ORDER BY Products.ProductName; Event Procedure - AfterUpdate: Private Sub ProductID_AfterUpdate() On Error GoTo Err_ProductID_AfterUpdate Dim strFilter As String ' Evaluate filter before it's passed to DLookup function. strFilter = "ProductID = " & Me!ProductID
[code]..
The Link fields are done on the Purchase Order ID (PONoID).What I want to achieve is to select the supplier from the combo box (SupplierID) on the main form and then the combo box (ProductID) on the subform to filter to only show products directly supplied by the Supplier selected on the Main Form.
hi, i have a query which retrieves data on products.
my problem is how to display a specific total i need.
there are three fields; [itemprice],[itemlabour],[itemdiscount]
the item price and labour columns are in currency format, but the discount column allows the user to select a discount between 0 and 50%.
now in a form, when i want to calculate the total price to be paid i have a simple code like this: [itemtotal] = ([itemprice]+[itemlabour])/[itemdiscount].column(1) the idea being, when a discount is selected, there is a hidden column in the combo which contains a specific number to divide the total of [itemprice]+[itemlabour], thus giving a total.
now i tried to use this code within a query, but it doesnt work.
I have a form which calculates many fields in the form. However, the issue that I have is how to use a different field in the query than the field that is shown in the drop down combo box in the calculation of an expression.
I have been tasked with creating a tool to analyse mobile phone bill data and present the analysis, and our recommendation, to a customers. Being new to Access (other than basic tuition) this has been a slow uphill task, which is finally nearing completion, however there is a problem which I have not yet been able to overcome.
The requirement is for the DB to open first on a splash screen (lets call it Form A) with fancy picture where our customer is selected from a combo box, the customer is then telephoned, a linked computer screen is established and our staff then click "Go" to proceed to a second form (Form B) showing an account overview and more details.
The problem I have is when "Go" is clicked, the second form loads via on click event, and even populates the correct customer in its combo box. Unfortunately that is as far as it gets - the combo does not look up the information. The customer needs to be selected again for the subforms and subreports to load with the customer overview. To clarify, form B just sits there blank until the customer is re-selcted from the combo box in form B.
I'm trying to get a combo box & button to work together. On the main form of the attached database, I just want the button to go to the associated record based off my selection (or entry) in the combo box.
I've tried the following:
- Looked through the Northwind sample database for a close example. Tried my best to replicate the functions but it didn't work - Looked through other examples posted and tried to manipulate the code to no avail - Tried using [Forms]![Main Form]![cmbLastName] in both the filter & criteria section of the macro
I am taking a value from one form into another. The value I am taking needs to select an item In a combo Box.
So far I can move the value to the new form but cant seem to copy the value into the combo box.
Private Sub Use_By_Date_Click() Dim Partno As String Partno = Me.Form.TRAN_ItemNo TRAN_ItemNo = Partno 'MsgBox Partno DoCmd.OpenForm "Frm_Stock_Transactions" DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acNewRec End Sub
I want to add a series of strings to a combobox on a Form using VBA. I can add one string but how do I add more. The one I see is the last one entered, how do I add more than one string to a comboBox
Im using the below code to open a from depending on what option is selected on a combobox.
Code:
Private Sub DirectPCombo_Click() Dim cboVal As String Dim stDocName As String cboVal = Me.DirectPCombo.Value Select Case cboVal Case "One"
[code]....
If you select the first item [One] it will open the correct form [TestOne]. But when you select any of the others an error comes up saying that the name is no a form. So I added
Code: DoCmd.OpenReport stDocName
But the no items would select.I know If split the reports form the forms and make two comboboxes it would work, but it would be better it both could be in the same combobox.
I have a form for adding new bookings to a database, as well as the original form for adding the passengers.
I have created a combo box on the 'add booking' form which brings a drop down of existing passengers to choose from under the 'surname' field. However it was not assigning the bookings to the passenger on the 'add passenger' table.
I changed the control source of the form property to the Customer ID (the autonumber) and the bookings now seem to be linking to the passengers. However the 'surname' box in the table is empty - if I change the control source back to 'surname' then the bookings stop linking again.
i am looking to generate a list of dates in a combo box. I want the dates to be from 1 week ago to today. And all other attempted entries to be invalid. This means the user could only select one of those dates, with any other entry returning an error
Im having trouble filtering a combobox on a form. I have two Comboboxes, one is called (FleaTickWorming) depending on what is elected in this cobo, will deside on what is available in the other combo which is called (Product). The form is a continuous form. The filtering works, in as far as it changes the list each time, but it also deletes the item that I have chosen on previous records if the list is different. My code is as follows:
Code: Private Sub FleaTickWorming_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer) If Me.FleaTickWorming.Column(0) = 1 Then Me.Product.RowSource = "qry_FleaProducts" ElseIf Me.FleaTickWorming.Column(0) = 2 Then
I'm currently using a Dlookup function to display a calculated field from a query. This works fine when only one record is entered on the many side; however when additional records are entered it doesn't add the additional records. What function/code can I use to add each record's total as it's entered on the many side?
This is what is working when the many side only has one record:
I have a field called PriceSoldFor and I need to calculate and display this field multiplied by 3.4%. This is what I have tried and reading elsewhere it should work:In the Control Source of an unbound TextBox I have entered the following:
=[PriceSoldFor]*[.034]

But when I view the form the field displays the following:
I have a form that is used for data entry; from there I want to create a new form where I can select a field from a combo box which would generate the amount associated.
Example on the first form it has a Carpenter that has a calculated output of $1000, on the second form I would want to click on the combo box and pick carpenter and I would like the calculated field to be shown next to it.
I tried making an if statement on an unbound box but I found it difficult
I can't work out how to update the selections available in a combo box as follows: I use a combo box in a main form to select a record (yacht) If it's a new yacht then I use an event linked to a button to call another form to add the new Yacht On exiting the Yacht Maintenance form I return to the main form The combo box in the main form doesn't list the yacht i just added unless I exit and re-load the form
I'm not sure of the best way to refresh the combo box selections or main form without exiting.
I want a combo box in a form for data entry. Is the best method in doing this creating a new combo box in the form and linking it to a table, or using a lookup field in my table?
When I enter a combo box on a form, whatever I choose from the combo box, it populates everything. If I go to a different row to change it, it changes them all. How do I get that to stop? And why does it do that?
Can I use combo boxes placed in the detail area of a navigation form, above the sub menus but below the navigation? I am not able to get one to work properly . I can set it up but when I run the form, and try to pick an item from a list, it will not work...
I have a reservation form and I want to tick a checkbox that will filter the form based on what is in the "Reservation Status" combo box.When the checkbox is ticked, the code would remove all records that have "Complete" as a status in the "Reservation Status" combo box. The non-working code that I currently have is:
Code: Private Sub chkHideComplete_AfterUpdate() On Error Resume Next If Me.chkHideComplete = True Then Me.filter = "[ReservationStatus] = 1" Me.FilterOn = True
combo boxes and continuous forms.I have a continuous form (works great), with two combo boxes that navigate (rather than limit/ filter the list) to the desired selection.One for suburb and one for postcode.
I have expanded the select criteria for the suburb to include postcode as some suburb names are used in more than one state. (I do not want to have to select a state, then suburb).I changed the column count to see the postcode next to the suburb, however when the selection is made only the first instance is selected.
Example. Epping 2121 Epping 3076
If I chose Epping 3076, Epping 2121 is selected and the continuous form navigates to that suburb (rather than the one with 3076).Can I change this so that I can still search by postcode, or search by suburb and have the form navigate to the corrected suburb postcode combination?
