I have defined a recordsource based on a predefined query. Now I intend to use the SQL statement which works to produce other recordsources based on other queries. More concretely here is my code as of now:
Code: Dim J1 As Long Dim SQLRecordSource As String J1 = Forms(ParName).MemID SQLRecordSource = "SELECT DISTINCTROW [MembersTbl].* FROM [MembersTbl]" & _ "INNER JOIN [ActiveMembersQy] ON " & _ "[MembersTbl].[MemID] = [ActiveMembersQy].[MemID] " & _ " WHERE [ActiveMembersQy].[MemID] = " & J1 & ";"
In the future instead of writing it like this:
Code: Select Case QryName Case "NonMembersQy" SQLRecordSource = "SELECT DISTINCTROW [MembersTbl].* FROM [MembersTbl]" & _ "INNER JOIN [NonMembersQy] ON " & _ "[MembersTbl].[MemID] = [NonMembersQy].[MemID] " & _ " WHERE [NonMembersQy].[MemID] = " & J1 & ";"
[Code] ....
I wish to write it like this (which does not work):
Is this possible ie put the name of the variable that holds the name of the query in quotes or sometimes put the name of the query instead of the contents of the name. If there is a contents function for variables in VBA that can be used by I doubt whether it exists.
I have been given a form that you pass a parameter into and on the basis of this it performs certain amendments to the particular data AND also runs 2 stored procedures on this data. I need to get the data to display on the form so that the user can visually verify if it is the correct data and then they will on click to execute the amendments and stored procedures.
I cannot get the data to display on the screen? I have tried to create a variable in the VBA code to store the data in and then used a message box to try to display it but to no avail?
On my Form I have a comman button with ControlTip Text that advises the user of what will happen when they push the button. Could someone please tell me why the Text is now not appearing when I put the mouse over the Command button? Thank-you for any help given.
Mouse hover over control will not pop up the standard yellow window with tips entered in the control's ControTip text property.
I tried to bring the control to the front but that doesn't work either.
At one time I disabled all bars and menus to have control over which ones appear for this application. However, I removed the registry entries for all preferences for the current user and the popups still dont appear.
Is there a way to disable/enable this functionality either by some configuration change in tools/options or programatically using Application.SetOption?
Just tried out ControlTip Text on some command and toggle buttons. The text pops up on some but not on others and I cannot determine what the difference is (the properties are essentially the same except for name, caption etc). What buttons work and what do not seems random but if I copy/paste a button that works, the copy always seems to work.
I have a field named "PICK_DATE" in text format where pickup date is stored in DD/MM/YYYY format.
Now I wanted to generate a report with the order by clause of PICK_DATE. But it is not giving me the desired result. I want to see the latest PICK_DATE at the top of the report in desending order.
Can any one pls help me out to solve this problem ?
I'm trying to make a search form that makes use of queries that search a table based on what fields I have. How would I go about having the query display all the fields for the record(s) that match the search criteria? This is for Access 2010.
As far as the query is set up, I have several fields with a search criteria, and the others are for displaying the relevant information about the results (since they're not search criteria, I used "Like '*'"). When I ran the query, it doesn't come up with anything - even if the record actually exists in the table with specified criteria.
I am trying to get a text string from a table to convert to the proper date format in access 2003.
The text string is formatted as 140930 for Sep 30th, 2014 for example.
I have tried using the formula following formula: Format([PCCSDTA_DCSDIU]![DTEAVL],"mm/dd/yyyy") but this format returns the date 11/06/2285 instead of the desired 09/30/2014.
I have a number field in my subform that's autoupdated but I'd like it to display "weeks" beside the number without trying to store it, is this possible?
I have six textboxes in my form. First 5 textboxes have dates ( MMDDYYYYY). In the sixth textbox I need to display the minimum date among these five dates.
I am having problem on formatting text on a report based on a Yes/No field using Conditional Rules Manager in Access 2010. When adding a rule [field name] = Yes the font color does not change. I have tried setting the expression to [field name] = True and still does not change the color. Adding a Yes or True in query works OK.
Is there a way to use conditional formatting with a date? For instance, in my form I'd like the date field to turn red once a particular date has passed (to show that memberships are expired). Can this be done or am I better to just format a report of upcoming expiration dates?
I have a time/date field. The format for the field is short time hh:mm I created a Private Sub for when the field is double clicked the time is populated. On Double Click:
Private Sub Time_of_Call__DblClick(Cancel As Integer) Me.[Time of Call:] = Time() End Sub
It works great. I double click the field and "poof" the time appears. My problem is when the time appears it is in hh:mm:ss..I need it to be in 24 hour/ military time.
I have a series of forms in my shiny new database and I have added the auto time and auto date fields to the form headers. I have added the code to keep the time ticking over and it all works fine.
Unless the is no data. If for any reason there is nothing in the Details part of the Form, the date and time do not display. As soon as any data shows up, so do the date and time.
The VBA code is running in either case so I am a little baffled. Usually Google is my friend but not in this case.
I'm trying to write code which writes text into text boxes on a form depending of certain content of other text boxes. The names of the text boxes are all very similar
F.i. R1, R2, R3 ...... R12 if the content of these boxes are empty then the content of the corresponding text boxes VR1, IR1, VR2, IR2, VR3, IR3.......VR12, IR12 should also be empty.
In fact I am trying to write something like this
DO UNTIL i=12 if me.R(i).value = "" then me.VR(i).value = "" me.IR(i).value = "" endif LOOP
But this isn't working. The solution below works but isn't a very nice one, writing 12 times the same code
if me.R1.value = "" then me.VR1.value = "" me.IR1.value = "" endif
if me.R2.value = "" then me.VR2.value = "" me.IR2.value = "" endif
I have successfully put together some VBA code that will accept a user's input into a textbox on a form. A cmdFindprinter button is clicked and the query is ran. The user is asked via an inputbox for their login ID so that the query is exported to a text file on the desktop. The query then pops up in a new tab and also automatically exports the queried record to a text file on the desktop. I have upward of 30 users using this form at any given time and I need the following automated.
What I would like to do is to have the text file go into a specific format. For example:
IP address: Serial number: Location:
The name of one of the queries is "Xerox IP Query", the field names would be "IP Address", "SerialNumber", and "Site Name".
This is what comes up in the text file right now:
"CXF345946","157.229.243.58","123 Happy Ave"
I'd like to remove the quotes and have the info fall into place as shown in the example above.
This is the code so far:
Code: Private Sub cmdFindprinter_Click() On Error GoTo cmdFindprinter_Click_Err Dim strPath As String userNT = InputBox("Please enter your NT ID", "ServiceBase Xerox Printer Query", "Enter your NT ID") strPath = "C:Users" & userNT & "DesktopPrinterQuery.txt" If Heading = 0 Then Exit Sub
I am trying to get the text in a couple text boxes to turn green if a certain Yes/No field is left blank.
I know the conditional formatting is working, because condition 1 and 3 are working fine (those expressions are referencing text fields).
I would like to have Condition 2 look at [DM_Approval] from the bound query and if it is unchecked, execute the conditional formatting.
I've tried all kinds of statements, but i'm starting to think that the expressions in the conditional formatting window just won't work when referencing a yes/no field.
Specifically (at the very least) i know i tried [DM_Approval]=False, [DM_Approval]=No, [DM_Approval]=0, and [DM_Approval] is null.
In my form I have a calculated field that works out the time elapsed for a job, worked out as the QTY/RUN RATE which gives me the time in hours. However I couldn't format the box as a date/time, as it is a calculation and the times may go over 24 Hours which results in the date/time giving me something like 31/12/1899 16:00 for example.
I've got around this now and I've formatted the results as HH:NN:SS using a public function in a module, but the problem is this is now stored as a text field. I've tried setting this to a number field but the formatting doesn't carry over. I've tried setting a custom format in the table as HH:NN:SS but then all I get is just a bunch of 0's, no calculation results.
So how to format this as a number field properly?
Also for any extra information:
- I know you're not supposed to store calculated results, but this is slightly different, the calculated field is a standalone text box and the bound field is a formatted text box. - The reason I have to store the calculated results is because my boss wants to eventually see a chart of the total hours of jobs each day, hence why I'm asking if this can be done as a number field.
Need to confirm whether the Default formatting option in the Conditional formatting Dialog won't work in datasheet view of a form. Please note that all conditional criteria are working fine but not the Default Formatting option - only in the Datasheet view (In Single Form view the default formatting is working fine)
I want to print text based upon the content of the field but need more than the IIF statement. For example, if the field contains an "A" I want to print "Active", "C" I want to print "Closed", "N" I want to print "New", etc.
Thanks in advance for any help. You guys have always had an answer in the past!
I am trying to view the contents of a text field in a form. The field can only be a limited size in the form, but I want to store a lot of text in the field and have it visible without having to enter the field and use the arrow keys to view the contents. Is it possible to programme a function that shows the contents of a field when I roll the mouse over it or something like that? The "Control Tip Text" is the principal of what I am trying to do except this gives a fixed value. When used in web page development I think this function is refered to as "Alt tag"
I've set the 'Font Italic' method to 'True' for my 'scientific_name' text box control in a datasheet form. It does not render in italics. I've gone so far as to create an On-Load sub with a single command:
