I would like to make a calendar in excel for project tracking like the attached image. I would like to choose a whole project date and then tasks with dates of project and it will show in coloring with dates.

Project Tracking Reports - Working With Monthly Data Updates

I receive monthly project tracking reports and I'm looking to compare a few things between these monthly updates. I should add I'm new to Access and have been using Excel and dual monitors to manually compare data sets!!! My life might be getting a LOT easier.

Here's what I'm tracking:

I get monthly excel reports that have unique values from a "Project ID"each "Project ID" stays the same every month, but the project status changes from "Installed", "Commitment", "Pre-Commitment", etcSometimes new projects are addedSometimes old projects disappear from the reportA few other columns have numerical data that changes every month as well "Project Cost", "$ Incentive", etc.

Here's what I'm trying to automate:

Find out what Project IDs are newFind out if old Project IDs are missing from the new reportSomehow "flag" or identify projects that have status changesSomehow "flag" or identify which numerical values increased or decreased i.e. "Project Cost", "$ Incentive", etc

Do I create two tables? Do I append the new monthly report to the old one when I import my data, then somehow work with the new information?

Project Launch Calendar

Hello All,

I am new to this board and have a question about your opinion on creating an Access project that will be a project launch calendar for an organization. Basically, there are numerous projects with start and end dates and they need to be tracked every month and Gantt chart type reports are created that how their current status and if they have slipped or not. It is done in Excel now, where are set of people gather information about different sets of projects and at month's end compiles them into one Excel sheet which is then used as the basis for generating some reports through Mail merge and also manual Gantt charts in power point.

So, the idea is to port this system to Access where data is continuosly fed by the users through the month and then at month's end reports generated that are similar to what is produced manually now. My basic questions are:

1) What do you suggest regarding the process of having multiple users interact with Access to feed in data throughout the month, i.e. can this be done concurrently or is there a best practices process of having multiple users interact with the system without disturbing each others work?

2) Is there a sample project or technique someone can suggest that enables production of Gantt chart type or MS Project type visual timeline reports from the underlying data?

Will appreciate any pointers. Apologize to folks for whom all this is very basic.

All, using access 2010. I am using this code to make a folder upon exporting a query to excel:

MkDir sPath

It works however I need a space between the date and the folder. But when I use "", it tells me path doesn't exist. get a space in the name when creating the folder.

Tracking Changes From Imported Excel Document

I am Extracting that data into an excel document from the fillable PDF and importing into Access.... NOW. Here is what I am trying to figure out. I have to alert the field of major changes, SO I am wanting Access to compare the document I imported last with the one I imported just now. Example. I change my contact information, I need a query to find that the information I submitted last time, is not the same as what I just submitted. My issue is, I cannot get a vision for this database. I can import these documents to a table BUT I cannot compare these line items with line items of the same table...

I have been able to successfully set up code to be able to add appointments to microsoft outlook based on data within a few forms that I have. My question is this however, how do I get access to make that appointment to a specific calendar on outlook. This calendar is a shared calendar. Currently, access is just adding the appointments to "My Calendar" and I could like it to place the appointment on "HVCalendar". a version of the code I found online is listed below:

Calendar To Select Ranges From Access To Excel Using VBA

My goal is that the user can choose start date and end date use the calendar implement in the userform, and then the VBA will automatically select the data range from access and updated into the defined worksheet in Excel. I managed to connect to access, just don't know how to implement the selection with the two date(the start date and end date).

How Do I Complete This Project? Need A Few Answers To Finish DB Project.

I have tables and forms setup but I have 3 general questions on how to finish the project.

1. Should I create a folder where all the files reside for instance, create a phone log folder, put the DB file into the folder and export XML's into the same folder?

2. How do I get the form to launch as a self-contained form without the Access application in the background?

3. How can I get this form and table to automatically update an XML spreadsheet whenever records are added?

4. How can I get the form to sort all records according to time logged? The time will be entered in manually and we need all the records to sort automatically by time in ascending order.

I'm creating a Gym Database and need to be able to track attendance for specific classes. I need to have a system in place allowing me to do a register for attendance for each activity.

I also need to be able to calculate fees based on attendance. So if a person attended Gym 5 times in the month (£5 per session) and then Swimming 3 times in the month (£2 per session). My system should automatically calculate this based on the attendance tracking.

Also: In the booking stage, I need to have a field telling me how many spaces are left on each activity. Say for example I'm booking Person 99 in for Swimming and there is only 11 places left I need the field to display 11 places left. After that booking it should update saying 10 places left because Person 99 is booked in.

I have a task of managing hardware assets like desktop, monitor, HDD, routers etc. Each item is marked with a unique ID.

These items could be transferred from one city to another city; so need to track that too.

1. There will be two tables

One (say AssetDetail) will have the following fields
RecordID
City
AssetID
Description of the asset (desktop/monitor etc)
ProductSerialNumber of the asset

Second (say AssetTransfer) will have the additional fields
NewCity
AssetTransferredDate

2. I only want to open a single form :

a) where on the basis of either AssetID or the ProductSerialNumber, I could open a particular record and edit it.

i) if the asset is transferred from city A to city B; then the "City" field value in AssetDetail table should change to "city B"(New City field value).

ii) At the same time, each asset transfer record should get appended to the AssetTransfer table even if the table has an existing record with the same AssetID or ProductSerialNumber.

3. Also need an option to make a new entry to the AssetDetail table from the above mentioned single form.

I am attempting to create a patient tracking database for a clinic I work in and I am stuck at one small but major part.

I have a parent form called frm_Patient_index. On this form you can enter patient details such as personal details, observations ect. I need to create a lab request form for certain tests to be performed.

I want so that a button on the frm_patient_index form opens a subform where the relevent tests can be requested via tick boxes. Now here is my problem I have managed to create all of that except for the information to be entered into the frm_lab_request automatically and get SAVED to its corresponding table. It will not save for me.

I can get the information such as Badge Number, First Name, Surname and DOB to all enter into the fields automatically but getting them to save to the table is not happening.

The forms are the same except one is allowed to edit. I have also created another form where I am trying to search the "Part Search" Form via a tracking number. I want the calendar to show the date in the field [Next Payment Due] - whenever this value changes, the calendar date should change accordingly.

I want the calendar to be assigned to a text box (txtCalDate), so this would also contain the date of [Next Payment Due].

However, If the calendar date is changed (on the calendar), I want txtCalDate to show this date, but [Next Payment Due] to stay as it's original value. Next Payment Due can only change the value, but not be changed itself.

So I presume VBA would be needed to say when [Next Payment Due] is changed, make calendar this date. And then to simply assign the calendar to txtCalDate so if calendar is changed, this will change with the new date.
