I am trying to make something to make my job easier. To be honest I am a beginer in this field. I am having a field, when I enter one value ( let that be 10) it should pop up one form and if another value ( let that value be 20) it should pop up another form.
or else I can explain in this way
If data field value = 10 then it should run macro 1
& if data field value = 20 then it should run macro 2

I have a 1 row table as a result of 2 queries that give me the 'MaxYear' AS 'DefaultYear' and 'MaxWeek' AS 'DefaultWeek' in that year for a selected retailer and stores, from a master table.I want the default Year and Default Week text boxes to display the values of these
I have tried pointing to a table holds the results and pointing to the queries for each box...I have used Form.Refresh and Forms.Requery but nothing picks up my values.
I need to enter workload counts for 10 people, and it is done on a monthly basis. So I have a table of Months (Jan-Dec), a table of names, and a joined table with the months, names and a field for the workload counts.
I would like to make a form where I could select the month and all the names show up so I could go and enter the counts for everyone at the same time. I've attached a diagram to show what it would look like

I am new to VBA, and i need some help in my system..... basically i am creating a appointments Form, and in this i have some txt fields and a listbox which contains the available times ... What i want my form to do is that as the user enters the values in the form and the time selected, as clicking the "set Appointment" button it should add the values to the table.

I have a form for entering Retirement Plan information (frmRRSP) that has tblRRSP as its recordsource. The RRSP Rate is a field with a Number datatype (in the table) and a Percent format on the form. When I enter a value on the form it originally displays the value I enter, until I press the Enter key, then it changes to "####" an enters a value of 0 in the table field.I tried entering a value directly in the table and it changes to 0 when I press Enter.I have an almost identical form and table for Vacation and it does the same thing.

For this particular project, the user must choose from a variety of options, and each option has a number value assigned to it for a rating. Now at the end of this form, I want a sum of the ratings, and then entered into the table. I am using a text box for the sum of ratings, and can get the sum of ratings to work on the form, but this data is entered as a 0 in the table. If anyone could help me find a way to put the actual sum in the table, that would be excellent.. thx a lot.
If it would be any help, here are the names of text boxes that I'm adding:
Health and Safety Rating, Maintenance Rating, Equipment Rating, School Size Rating, Student Enrollment Rating, SD Priority Rating, Project Requested Previously Rating
Those ratings must be added into "Total Rating"

I have a table that holds the ID to another table where I pick up the name to display instead of the ID. If a name is added or changed then the ID needs to be added/updated.
The name (and other details) are displayed on a form from 1 to ,many rows.The field that holds the name is a combo box and I can change that field by selecting the bane from the combo box or typing the name in. What I want to be able to do is type in the ID (I'm actually scanning it in from a bar code) but display the name. How do I do this.
As I say this currently works if name is typed (Or scanned in)and the ID is written to the table.On the data tab for the field I have as the control source the ID itself. In the Row Source I have select 5 fields from the second table which includes the ID and name (both from 2nd table). The Bound Column is set to 1. In the Format tab Column count is 5 and column widths is set to 0cm;3cm;0cm;0cm;0cm. This allows the name (2nd column) to be displayed. But the 1st column to be stored on table 1. However I can't scan in the ID which I want.
I was wondering if it is possible to load multiple forms into one subform? For example: I have form [SO2Menu] and form [Critical]. Can I have one subform in a main form that by the click of a button ill load either menu depending on the users selection?

I have set the tabs in the order I like but I have to tab to the next dropbox, then double click to open the box, then double click on my choice then double click on the next one. Is there a quicker way to go through 25 dropboxs?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've created simple data base with 2 connected table with relationship one to many, then I have built the querry based on those 2 table and then I have done the form based on this querry, so there are fields from those 2 tables in the form.
When I try to fill in the fields with information I get error message:
"You can not add record (records); missing foreign key in the table"
When I checked relationship property window everything seems to be ok.
I have built a database which has a number of forms with a frm_PartNo subform in.When ever I click a button to load one of these forms I get the following error message: ECN Database v1.31 cannot find the referenced form 'frm_PartNo'. But when the form loads the sub form is there with all the related data !

The filter on the agents works and the filter on the completed date of null apeears to work however when a record is completed it diappears on refreshing of the form even though the record has been completed on todays date.I have investigated the code an the issue appears to be with the DATECOMPLETED = #" & Date & "# part of the code.
I'm trying to open a specific set of records when the form is first opened (namely the most recent date that was added). I'm trying something along these lines and am simply unable to get it to work:

I'm not a complete Access beginner, but I'm also far from an expert and not much of a programmer. So I feel that there's a chance this might be a relatively simple issue I'm merely making more complicated than it should be. But hopefully someone can at least point me in the right direction. (For the record, I'm using Access 2007.)
I've created a form to which I've added three tabbed pages. Each of these pages contains a subform the user can use to enter data into three different tables. The tables' relationships look to be set up properly, and there doesn't seem to be a problem with typing the information into the subforms. However, I want a single button press to update the information across all the tables and clear all the fields in the subforms so that the user can then go about entering the next person. I can't seem to figure out how to do this.
I downloaded a number of template databases from Microsoft, and some of them have exactly the kind of functionality I'm looking for: a "Save and New" button that inputs all the data across the tabbed pages and then lets the user start over from scratch with blank forms. I've spent a fair amount of time studying the various forms in the Student template, but I'm having absolutely no luck replicating that functionality. I basically want everything to work almost exactly the same as that, except with different field and table names (of course).
Can someone please explain what I'm doing wrong and how I might fix things, or at the very least how to look at the Students template database to get the information I need on how to do this myself? I'd be very grateful for any help on this matter. Thanks.
What is the best way to open a linked subform using a button while in a newly created record?

I know some basic code to disable a control after updating but, I have 20 or so controls that I want that to happen to as the record is updated over time. Is there a way to group all those controls and have them evaluated after going dirty instead of having to code each control?

to warn the user that this will change the contact type of the record.When I click the field everything works fine except I'm not able to enter the next field. All other fields I'm able to enter. Also, when I try top enter the next field (Phone) I get the message box for the other field even though I have nop message box function for that field.
I need to execute some VBA to load a new form in my navigation view, not a popup form.
If use DoCmd.OpenForm "DB History" it opens the form as a new form.
DoCmd.BrowseTo acBrowseToForm, "DB History" set the focus on the DB History navigation button but doesn't open it.
So I think I need to add the path.

I have a form which is for searching for and then viewing a record based on a text box and pressing enter. This is working fine. My ID field is 4 digits and when I change the 4 digits and press enter it shows me the details for the record in all of the other boxes:

My question is, as this is not a data entry / additions / deletions form (I have editing and filters to yes though) How do I get it to load empty? Not on a new or blank record but empty until I have typed my 4 digits. Just to clarify, my txtJobID box is empty on load but all of the other fields show the first record.
There are 2 issues I am trying to figure out for an Access2007 form:
1) I should first state that I am working off of 3 tables:
a) Marketers
b) Companies that belong to those marketers
c) Points of Contacts (POC) for each Company
2) In my frmMain, I have 2 combo boxes. The first loads the second and the second loads a CompanyID text field (IDc) that the subform bases for which record info to pull. How do I get the CompanyID (and subform) fields to load blank upon form open and until the 2nd combo box selection is made?
3) A company that doesn't have any POCs entered yet won't load its CompanyID even though it DOES have an ID number. Well the Id not being changed doesn't change the POC info either. I am guessing it's because there is no info to fill in the subform yet. However, I need to be able to still pull up the blank fields so I can ADD a POC.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a bound form to an invoices table. The form details all invoices raised, all payments made and an outstanding balance. The outstanding balance control is just a basic text box.
On form load, I go to the payment table and select all payments into a recordset, I then add up all payments and use the following calculation:-
Balance = InvTotal - paytotal
The Invtotal is the control on the form that has it's control source set as sum(invoicetotal)
The calculation used to work and the correct balance was displayed, indeed, for one particular client, the calculation works, but for all others, the summed value is blank and so the balance is effectively set to the paytotal value.
I know this is to do with the timing as the form loads and it's records/data are made available, as I have an update button that does exactly the same things as the form load and when pressed, all numbers work.....primarily because the summed invoicetotal value is now available in the form control.
I can see what is happening, but not sure why...I thought that form load gave you all records and would have populated the summed control before triggering the load event....obviously not.....
