I am using the code above and what the desired action is when the Check237 is checked then the Text239 is visible for the user to put in a comment. However, as of now when the check237 is checked the textbox dissapears.
Often I use Labels as buttons due to the fact I can colour them the way I want, and use the on click event to trigger code.
The code below however works for a command button, but not a label button.

When this code is run by clicking on a command button, it works fine.
If run by clicking on a label, frmdatetime opens, but the mouse will not work on either of the 2 open forms unless you go down to the windows task bar, jump onto another window, and back onto frmdatetime.
If I remove the loop with the DoEvents in it, then the problem does not occur.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why this behaviour occurs.

I have a simple application where a user clicks on the name of the person he wants to update from a drop down box.
The record is then retrieved and the fields are filled on the form.
The user will then enter a value in the # in household field.
The user is then required to click on the save button to write the record for this person.
I do not have strong users and they invariably forget to save the record and go on to the next person, resulting in the record not being updated.
I coded a message box as part of the save button which displays "person was successfully updated" and then instructed the user to make sure that they see this message before they go on to the next person. They still fail to update correctly.
My question:
Is there a way when the user selects a person from the drop down box and it is loaded on the form, to warn the user that they have NOT updated this person, before they go to the next person?
I don't know what else I can do with these users. They are all volunteers and elderly and the application is for a Food Pantry.
I need to create a message box or a form or something to flash on the screen to tell the user that a piece of "Update" code is running. the update code will be updated reports from marketing returns, but the 3 branches who use the information are separate so I am creating an update form to download and update the table.
The code for the update is already working, but can take a while, so I thought a message or splash screen would be useful as the update runs on start up.
It would have another use, I have a report which is made mainly of calculated fields on an onPrint event and also takes a while to work it out, so a similar screen would be more useful than my current spinning circle and blank screen.
I have a textbox on my form that is for "week of", always a Monday. There is vba to populate the appropriate Monday when the user selects something other than Monday via the date picker. This code is in the on change event. However, this is not friendly to a user entering a date in this field. I did try after update event, but that requires user to leave the "week of" field. This is not acceptable in this instance, there are other form fields that change as a result of this "week of" value.I also tried evaluating the length of the text or else exiting the code. However, I was expecting the date being returned from the date picker to always be 10 positions, but for March 3rd, it would return 3/3/2015...which is only 8 positions.

This simple event on double clicking a field on my form increments the number in the field by 1. There are 10 fields in all where I want the user to be able to do the same. Is there an elegant way to code this event for all those fields using one routine or is it best to add the event to each field?

I have the following two tables:
Applicant and Investigator
Applicant:
ApplicantID
InvestigatorID
etc
Investigator:
InvestigatorID
etc
The relationship is setup as 1 investigator to many applicants.
What I am trying do is this. I have form with a subform in it. In the subform there is applicant info IE SS# LName, FName and that is it. What I want to do is be able to double click on the SS# have the form "FrmApplicantFullDetails" open so you can view the work up on the applicant or edit info on the applicant.
Am I going about this the right way with the above code? Or is there something else I am missing in the code or is there code out that will do what I am looking for that is easier?

I'm currently trying to make the call answering screens a bit better in the call centre that i work in. i'm trying to make a caller i.d. for incoming calls. i have a reference library from the telephone software people in vba that lets me dial and hangup the phone, now i'm trying to place a text box on the form that will update to show the number of an incoming call which will enable me to search a table of contacts and display the details of the caller if they are available. i'm guessing that i need to create a loop that will run until there is an incoming call but i don't know where to place the code without it needing a mouse click or mouse over to trigger it. i just want it to run constantly.

I would like a way to auto-generate a pdf when a user clicks a link based on available tables within my database.
Basically i have developed a pricelist database and our reps need a printable pdf version of that available items and there attributes.
I have done some research and it appears that visual studio and crystal reports may be what I am looking for. This is an access web database that is accessed housed in sharepoint.
I have a Word 2010 document linked to an Access 2010 data source. When a user clicks a button in Access, the Word document loads and performs a email merge using the below VBA code:

However, as the .mailsubject part is not in the loop it is only retrieving the first Return Code. I have tried to integrate in the loop to no avail. Also, how do I add static text to the Subject, I need something like "Your Return Code" + "Return Code"..
I am trying to edit the following code to be able to require the user to enter a Loan number and keep prompting the user to enter a value as long as the field is blank. Once the field is filled in, then the code should go on to check if the sql condition is met and make the necessary change if met, then finally, I have a save command code that will require the user to save the record. Right now I am getting errors when I added the code to require the user to enter a field. I am new to loop and if statements in vba so I am not exactly sure how to structure it.

I have created a multi-user database and stepped through the security wizard to create accounts etc. The database also has VB code in it that calculates values for a text box based on values in the form.
The PROBLEM is that when I open the database which Auto Executes the form (with VB) to open, it halts with RunTime error 2147467259 which reads "You do not have necessary permissions to use the .mdb object".... then when I "Debug" this error it takes me to the VB code???? :confused:
The code works fine without security....

My db is secured using Access security but now find myself needing to code a little security work around if possible.
I have a form that has a subform. On the subform is a field named "Comments". The subform security only lets a particular group write to the fields it contains (including "Comments"). I have a new user that I need to allow to write to "Comments" but not to any of the other fields on the subform. I could make another subform with "Comments" only field and redo my security so that the original group can write to both subforms and new user can only write to "Comments" subform but I think it might be easier to code in that the new user is only allowed to write to field "Comments" in the existing subform. Every user logs into the db so I can get the user ID.
Is it possible to do this?

I am planning to give different rights (AllowEdit, ViewOnly…) to the user on accessing forms and reports in a db on a single pc instead of dealing with server as my client have only one pc.
As a present requirement, db would be in one pc only and would be used by 3-4 users. I need each of users to limit their access to some of the forms and reports in the same pc. To get it, what I did is as follows:
Example:
One of my tables called tblEmployees (Back End Table) linked in FE containing following fields:
1.Unumber- Autonumber
2.UNames - Text
3.Pwd- Password
4.F1- Yes/No
5.F2- Yes/No
6.F3- Yes/No
F1, F2….stands for form1, form2…
There is a login menu form. Something like 2 text boxes on the form and opening at the startup. User selects his name from a combo and types his password. If the user is available in the tblEmployees, Access opens main form and store UNumber and UName with time stamp in a local table called “T_CurrUser. If user not available in tblEmployees, it should close or give some msg.
Now, when the Main form opens (after login with correct user and pwd) and user wants to click different command buttons to open the form, I need to write code to check whether the current user have right to open the selected form (check marked to allow opening this form in the table tblEmployees) BEFORE opening it.
If check mark is set to false on F1 in the table tblEmployees, it means he can’t open form1, and a msg should pop up “Not allowed to view”..Something likes that.
1. I don’t know the code I created with simple if then, where to write ? I mean on which event of form ? On open / On Activate or where. Bcz the code should run before form opens and should check the table whether the user have check mark value true or false.
I tried to write the following code but some time it works some time doesn’t. What is wrong with code lines?

Some times, the system become stuck, which forces the user to end the program using Windows Alt+Ctrl+Delete. I have MS Access code which I want to execute when the user made the 'End Program' event using the Alt+Ctrl+Delete.

Making a small database, Got 1 Table.
1. ContactDetailTable
Got 3 forms.
1. ContactIDForm
2. ContactInfoForm
3. NewContactFrom
In ContactIDForm it contain 1 textbox name 'TextBox' with Button Name 'Btn'
In ContactIDForm there is only 1 Text Box ContactIDTextBox and 1 Button. User Enters ID in TextBox and On Button Click Event it should check data from TextBox in Table name (ContactDetailTable) in field ContactID and if there is record matching, ContactInfoForm should Open else NewContactForm should open with ContactIDTextBox value in it.
I have 480 textboxes in my form. What I am looking to do, is that any time any of thest textboxes are clicked (or double clicked) I want to then get the name of that textbox saved into a variable.
So I have created a public variable called tbName.
What I need is this:
- if the active control is a textbox then
- tbname = active control name.
It is important that I dont just take the active control name all the time as I want all controls other than textboxes to be igored. Secondly, under what event would I even put the code? Would it be the form Click event?

The problem that I am having is that I call the script to add the right click from the form open event and then multiple users can not access the same database.
I use one for forms and then another for reports.
If I manually close the open forms then reopen them then multiple users can use the same database.
If I close and reopen forms with vba the right click still remains making the database not accessible to multiple users.
It is definitely this as when I comment it out from the open event of the forms then everything is OK.
