If so, how would you go about it?

Feb 12, 2013I need to display the out put of a table as chart in ms access 2007. My table is as below.

In the chart X co ordinate should be the "ItemID" and the Y co ordinate should be the week number (eg, week1, week2 ...etc). Is it possible to display the chart with the above table? Or do I need to transform the table and then dosplay as chart? Also can I transform the above table as shown below using a single Transform query ?

Graphs In Report Not Working In ACCDE Version
Sep 6, 2013Using Access 2010 32-bit. I have a report that contains a Graph Chart (class = MSGraph.Chart.8). The reports works fine using the uncompiled .accdb. When I compile to .accde, the report is not rendered...I get an empty report screen as though Access is going to produce the report and nothing happens. I have to terminate Access using the "X" at the top right.

Sep 19, 2004I am looking for help to to generate a command line to automatically run a report within a windows program I am using. The program I use has command line fields to automatically open the access report when I complete my program session. I have tested the command line with a standard C:.... .exe to open Word, Access, etc.
I have tried using the create shortcut and snapshot methods without success and wondering if a macro is needed (havent a clue).

Dec 13, 2007I have a youth soccer database and I have fields for the Father, Mother, Phone, Address and Parental Support (coaching, concessions, Organizational, etc). The Parental support fields are attached to yes-no checkboxes. What I want to do is run a report that generates a list of people that have indicated they are willing to help by checking any particular box, coach, asst, fund raising, etc what is the best way to handle this ??

And that works perfect for sending the current report to the Digital Sender Folder... but I'd like to be able to send it to a certain county folder within the digital sender folder, based on what is listed for the county on the form. same for municipalities. and then, have it create a folder based on the name inside the form..... how to lead it through the path of the folder through the given information on the form, or how to make it create a folder.

Auto Email PDF Report Daily From Access 2007
Oct 17, 2011I am working on Access2007. I designed a report that I need to email every night automatically to my client. The report resides in the Access database. I currently use a macro to auto email this report for me but it still requires me to double click the macro to make it run. I actually want the report to be email at night without having me running the macro manually. Is there any way to make this happen?

Feb 5, 2008I have a database that works fine on access 2000. The problem is that when I open it in Access 2007 the switchboard does not display correctly and my command buttons do not work. Also, my field that autofill from a combo box do not fill in. I am assuming that access 2007 does not recognize the code for all of these. If this is the problem does anyone know of a reference that can be used to change the code to work.
Also, thought I would mention that I opened it in Windows Vista. I have read about problems with Vista. I have not tried opening the database on a computer running XP.
Just wanting to get working now in case my company changes over to Office 2007 in the future.

Nov 29, 2014I have a module which reads a CSV transaction file line by line and adds the correct transactions to an access table and places the wrong ones in a logfile.Now some transactions are rejected twice there is even one rejected six times. Whereas one wrong transaction is processed only once. I am certainly overlooking something obvious in the logic but what. Here is the relevant code.

Sep 30, 2013I am writing a book, using MS Access 2007 (seemed like a good idea at the time I started, and the report that creates the formatted book content works quite well).
The book content is "per paragraph" which gives me total flexibility to move content to whatever spot in the book I might wish, simply by changing the paragraph number (free field, not auto-number primary).
To save paper (or pages) in printing (or viewing) the book, I have the report printing off para by para (as many whole paras as will fit to a page). This is fine but I want each new chapter to start at a forced new page, for "presentation"/appearance sake.
The relevant fields for the purposes of this post are:
paranumber
paratext
chapternumber
forcepageifticked (a Yes/No box), which goes with each paragraph and which I thought might come in handy, I had in mind to link it to a page break control at the top of the "detail" part of the report in design view, and which would be "invisible" except if the report formatting process had got to the start of any chapter, and the Yes/no box was ticked.
Reports :: Access 2007 - Report Not Rendering Until Fields Are Clicked
Jul 24, 2014Upon opening a report (it does this randomly), the report opens and it is completelty blank - no lines, lables, or fields - nothing. However, when I click on an area, the group I clicked on will render and display perfectly. So when this happens, I either have to click every where on the page or scrolling up and down (if the report is long enough) will render the whole report. It doesn't do this everytime; about 25% of the time though.
As you can imagine, when other people use the database and this happens, they freak and just think access is broken. What is causing this or what can be done to prevent this from happening?
I'm using access 2007.
General :: Alt Key Scrolls Subform To Top - Access 2007
Oct 22, 2014It seems that if I have a continuous subform open and scroll down through the records, then hit Alt, the subform immediately scrolls back to the top again?
I only noticed this today when I scrolled to a particular record, then wanted to use Alt+Tab to switch to a different window. When I Alt+Tab'd back to my DB, the subform had scrolled back to the top and I had to scroll again to find my record. It was only then that I realised the auto-scroll was happening as soon as I hit the Alt key.
How to disable this behaviour as I use Alt+Tab pretty frequently (as do my users, more importantly) and it will get pretty annoying pretty quickly if the subform keeps reverting to the top?

Mar 25, 2014I am upgrading an Access 2000 system to 2007 and replacing user toolbars with Ribbons.I have a strange parsing error that I think is not my error.
I have placed the following control into a group:

t turns out that it is finding the word Group within the double quotes and interpretting is at part of the XML syntax.
Change to another idMSO and the problem goes away. Same happened with another control that had the word Group in the id.

Aug 2, 2013I think the answer will be very simple but I can only seem to graph one field using the Graph wizard. I have a table that have running totals:

I can only seem to chart the first column after the date.
General :: Access 2007 Show Form On Top
Apr 10, 2013I have a button which runs some VB, it brings up various message boxes as it prints a report to file, runs a query etc etc. I am hoping to display a basic form, which simply covers most of the screen and states "Please Wait" or something. I have already built the please wait form (frm_please_wait) and have set it to pop up. I have added it to my VB to open before I run the queries/output to file however the messages still appear on top..
How can I force the form to display on top of everything else in access ( it is only visibly for a few seconds, depending on the spec of the pc).

Apr 14, 2014I have DB in access 2007. I have a report that is uses a select query to generate the information for the report. It has been working great, But however lately like maybe with in the last month, it has been causeing Access 2007 to crash. I am having the same issue with another DB that uses the same information but that information is imported in. both Databases have worked great up until two months ago. Microsoft states that it is because of the program. I have tried to repair the DB by using the Repair option. I am confused as to why this would be happening. I can create a new report and it seems to work. but I do not want to change all the DB on everyone's computer just for this reason. I also have two buttons on my report that utilize macros to close or print the report.

May 1, 2013I've been updating the look of some of my db's and am trying to access the new style colour picker per Office 2007/10.
Up to now I have been using

which displays the pre 2007 style.
I've looked all over the web but cannot find anything relating to the current style (other than using it from the ribbon or control properties), so not sure if I should be looking for a different function or a change to the ChooseColor type values.
All db's are running 32bit access and at the moment 32bit OS but will no doubt have OS upgrades to 64bit soon.
General :: Access 2007 Many-to-many Relationships Export To Excel?
Jul 18, 2014how to export Access' many-to-many relationships in excel.
My database is a Project portfolio management tool. One project has many different fields, some of which can only be single values (one-to-one, easy to export to excel) and many others are multiple values fields, built as many-to-many relations (through junction tables).
One usage that was not specified at database creation time was the ability to export the portfolio to excel, so non-access-savvy users can browse, filter, sort and play with the portfolio however they want.
If I build a report, it will contain as many sub-reports as there are junction tables, rendering it un-exportable to excel. A Form would have to be continuous, barring the use of sub-forms for the m2m relations.
Building a query will generate many lines per project (as many as the most populous multiple field), making the excel sheet nearly unusable (in my users opinion, and here, the client's the king).
The best route I have been exploring so far involves "transforming" the multiple fields, so a the different "rows" become additional "columns".

Jul 27, 2015I am on a deadline today and when I went to open an Access 2007 (I abhor the fact that I am forced to use 2007) database, it will not open. It gives me the error message Unrecognized database format [file path].
I have tried creating a brand new database and importing all objects from old to new but I get the same error message.

Usually there are logged-in users, then I have to ask them (mostly via communicator) to please log off, because I can not modify with users in the db.
I would like to send these users a message via Access, like "Please log off from the db for maintenance blabla".
