I would like to get a third party to edit a database and record those edits by changing the colour of the font. I know this can be done in layout mode, but it changes the font in all records, I only wish to change the font colour in one record, how I can do this, without changing all the records in the database.
I have a access 2007 file. with a table with a yes/no field. When I link the table to another db using lnked table manager, the yes/no display is not a checkbox (as set) but is turns into textbox.
I have a Header with basically four rows of Text, all in Calibri. The top row is White text, 14pt, on a Dark Grey Rectangle. The other rows are Supposed to be Calibri, 12pt, Black text on White Rectangles. The issue is that when I am in Design View, it displays properly, But when I go to Layout View, the Black Text changes from Calibri to Garamond. If I look at Design View again, it Displays as Calibri, but even if I go to Layout View, Change the Font, and go to Design View again, the next time I try to Print, it changes to Garamond again. Everything else stays he same, whether the text is 12-14pt, the Color, Bold, Underline, Italic Settings. Only the Font Changes.
how am I suppose to change the form name in the forms in VBA access, now see I would not want to change the names by using the coding.
Please note that I have got so many forms, however I have worked with the default names to start some of them would be, form1, form2 Now, when I am trying to follow the best practice approch, by changing the form name by right clicking and hitting rename, I am unable do so as it is popping up and giving me a statement as below.
"The form name 'Form2' is missspelled or refers to a form that does not exist" and continued in the next line as below
"if the invalid form name is in macro, an Action failed dialog box will display the macro name and the macro's arguments after you click OK. Open the Macro window, and either the correct name."
I am experiencing a problem in MS Access 2013. I have a form which was working just fine until now. It has form labels in Calibri font and their font colour is one shade lighter than black. Today, I changed the font colour of the form labels to be Automatic - black (shows as 'Text 1' colour in the form properties). I did this in Design view.
I find that when I switch to layout view, the font of the labels appears as Century Gothic. This is the font that appears in the Form view. So while the font colour is correctly changed, the font name is not what I had set in the Design view. When I go back to the Design view, and change the font colour back to the original colour which was one shade lighter than black (Text 1, Lighter 50%), the font is correct in the Layout view and the Form view (Calibri).
So it seems that there is some sort of binding between the font colour (black) and the font name (Century Gothic). When I change the font colour, the font also changes. When I restore the original colour (one shade lighter than black), the font Calibri is correctly retained.
On a form I have a combo box - let's call it cmboSickness. it has two options "flu" and "malaria". On the same form I have two command buttons - one ehich opens a malaria form and one which opens a flu form. If I select flu then I want the words on the flu command button to change to red. How do I do this and where do I put the code?
I have tried - If me.cmbosickness=flu then cmdflu.color=255
Is it possible to use two color fonts on one label? I want to bring attention to the user that by clicking a certain button they can perform a search by "Name" and by clicking on the other button, they can perform a search by "Appointment".
I have a switchboard type form with some buttons. The two buttons in question are labeled, "Search for Appts by Name" and "Search for Appts by Appointment". I want to keep the "Search for" section of the button in black font, but change the "by Appointment" and "by Name" to red font.
I have a report that prints labels (similar to avery labels) which pulls data from a query. These labels are all unique and vary in length. Due to the length variance, I want the font size to get smaller for labels with more characters. I want the text to go down to another line when necessary.
In my report under the OnPage Event Procedure I wrote this:
Private Sub Report_Page() If Len(Text2) > 20 Then Text2.FontSize = 8 If Len(Text2) > 10 And Len(Text2) < 21 Then Text2.FontSize = 10 If Len(Text2) < 11 Then Text2.FontSize = 14 End Sub
This works to some degree but the problem is that once there is a longer label, all of the proceeding labels are resized & the longer label that should have been resized was not.
Is there another place I should be writing this code? I looked under events for the textbox but there doesn't seem to be anything that would work since none of them would trigger when printing labels
i have a text box which displays the current stock level of an item, when the current stock level reaches 1 i need the font to change colour from black to red. for example, if the stock is 2 - font is black if one item is sold the stock will become 1 - font changes to red
how do i go about this? any help is VERY VERY welcomed and muchly appreciated. thanx alot.
On open I change the Picture property of an image control to another image. I do it 2 places. Access crashes on the first change or on the second. In about 50 % of the cases.
I believe thats the proper word for it. Attached is a screenshot of a section of the database that I have started working on. It is to track placement for a college. Its my first ever and I am fairly good at making things look good, but as far as function - I am terrible.
I can change the raised box that the tab control sits on to a dark maroon when someone has a felony (so it notifies the user of this status)
Private Sub Form_Current() If [Felony] = True Then Felonybox.BackStyle = 1 Felonybox.BackColor = RGB(159, 19, 44) Else Felonybox.BackStyle = 1 Felonybox.BackColor = RGB(208, 207, 202) End If
End Sub
I also have this done on After_Update.
I am trying to change the font on the Tab Control to Red when this occurs as well (only change the 'Criminal History CONFIDENTIAL' to red). I can not find this option anywhere, is this something that has been done or CAN be done?
I have sever forms and selecting a Theme Font work fine with all except one form.
The field is a Memo Field (I have other forms with different memo fields and they are fine) that just doesn't want to use the Theme Font(s). I have several Theme Fonts and it doesn't work with any of them.
So far I've deleted the control saved it and then put it back... no good. I even created a new form and the same thing happens.
I'm having a problem changing the hyperlinks in my access table.the hyperlinks point to locations of various documents on the server i.e. Server Quality DocumentsDoc1.docx
we have 2 domains at work so on one domain the hyper link works but on the other it doesn't.I did a find and replace so i have formatted all hyperlinks as such..Server.mydomain.localQualityDocumentsDoc1.doc x
However, this approach hasn't worked as it has only altered the 'text to display' and not the actual address (if i right click the hyperlink -> edit hyperlink the address is still ServerQualityDocumentsDoc1.docx).Is there away to change the Address fields of all the hyperlinks in one go?
I have a small Access DB (multi-user) on a network that keeps turning into a read-only DB, with a message bar saying please save as . . . and it will not let you complete that. It seems to lock the application, and when I can get everyone out and copy the file out I can finally get it back to its normal state.
I am trying to write a code that will run through one of my tables and copy a value from that table and then open SAP and run a search of the value, then save an excel copy of the results of the search, and repeat for each value in the table.
I am not asking for the code for the entire thing, just the code to access SAP similar to the way you open up other applications like internet explorer.
I have a question about user level security / access control.For my database I have a back-end containing the tables and a front-end with forms, queries and everything. I have set up the access user level security.Dependent from the access level of my users, some front-end options will be hidden and some queries retrieve only part of the data. For example: I have a form to calculate clients' end prices. A vendor can only see prices for his own clients, not for other vendor's clients.
BUT: to make the query work, all users need access to the tables and the back-end must be stored in a public place, right? Now all vendors can just open the back-end and see all information.Maybe protect the BE with a password and store this in the queries?
I would like to copy one control, then close this form, open concrete form and pass value to control.
My code is
Private Sub Menu_Click() DoCmd.OpenForm "frmZleceniaMarzenaNawigacjaPD" Forms!frmZleceniaMarzenaNawigacjaPD.Form!Imie = Me.Imie Forms!frmZleceniaMarzenaNawigacjaPD.Form!Imie.SetFocus DoCmd.Close acForm, Me.name End Sub
The problem is, still opens the previous form, not form "frmZlecenia"
e.g If I open form x then from this form I open my modal form "frmZlecenia" and then I will click "menu" button - now form "x" is open :/, but should be "frmZleceniaMarzenaNawigacjaPD"
There is some way to open concrete form from modal form?
I have a data entry form which have a date field.This field retains the existing date after the record is saved with vba after update event.
Private Sub Form_AfterUpdate() Me.ProductionDate.DefaultValue = Chr(35) & Me.ProductionDate.Value & Chr(35) End Sub
Almost after a year of perfect working i am facing a problem.When i save the record , in date field my date and month values are reversed if date is between 1-12.although my database stores perfectly valid date. for example if date is "10-09-2014" (dd-mm-yyyy) after saving form date field becomes "09-10-2014". but if date is "13-09-2014" The date form field retains this value .
Is there a font that comes installed by default in access(windows) that supports subscript? My subscript in access is showing up as a box. If I change it to a font that I have installed/purchased seperate from windows it gets displayed properly. The problem with this, is when it pulls this info displayed in that font to the website, it reverts it to a font that the user doesn't have installed and goes back to a box.
So need a default windows xp font installed in access/windows that supports subscript....
I have a subform on my main order form. I would like to click a button on my main order form and have it change a control on the subform. For instance, I have 2 controls on my subform, control 1 is a text field, and control 2 is a yes/no box.
When i click the button on my main for order form, I would like it to evaluate control 1 on my subform so that it can adjust control 2.
I would like to see if control 1 is null then set control 2 to yes or true. Thank you in advance for all your help.
I I have a SpouseID field in my Contacts table to link spouses.When a spouse is selected in one contact's record, I want to be able to automatically update the other contact's SpouseID control.I have created a calculated control called txtSpouseID that uses DLookup to find the ContactID for the other spouse:
Using Access 2010, I have a subform in datasheet view and I want to set the font size to 10pt. Setting font sizes for datasheet fields in the Format tab does not change the font size displayed.
I understand that the font size can be set using VBA (for example: Me.DatasheetFontHeight=10). Where do I put this code for it to work in a) a single datasheet b) all datasheets in the db?
