I have setup a small application with front/back end in local network. On client machines i have installed access runtime. Although it works fine but it suddenly quit when there is any run time error while working on client machine. Although on server machine ( where full version is running it didn't close the application ).
What i need is an option to not quit the application completely. As i am not expert in coding of try/catch statements I need a simple solution for time being .

My database was working fine. Now, if I have to save or edit a record, I get a message Run time error 2107. The value you entered does not meet the validation rule defined for the field or control. I am able to enter and edit new records in the table. I did not change any validation in form. Then it goes to debug mode and highlighted this code (me.recordsource=Listsql - is highlighted)
Private Sub ListSearch_Click()
Dim dBS As Database
Dim Rst As Recordset
Dim Listsql As String
Set dBS = CurrentDb()
Listsql = "Select * from MasterData where employeeid ='" & [Forms]![MASTERFORM]![ListSearch] & "'"
[Code] ....

Access 2010 on both Windows XP and Windows 7..I have an application which USED to use a postcode address utility that created an Activex. I have removed all references in vba to the utility but Access runtime gives an error 'cannot create Activex' on my clients PC's (both with Windows XP and Windows 7).On my own PC the error does not show with either full Access or simulated runtime. I have tried decompiling the database and even using the old trick of copying the modules code into Notebook and pasting back, but to no avail.

In short, here is what I am trying to accomplish:
1. I have a two-tier, tabbed Navigation form (Menu-Main).
2. One of the second-tier tabs opens a form (VendorMain) which displays a Datasheet based on [Query.Vendor_Query]
3. VendorMain contains a Command Button (EditButton), which calls a subform (VendorForm) used for editing.
4. Upon saving the edits, VendorForm's OnClose event is supposed to Requery the datasheet on VendorMain, so the edits are reflected when the user returns.
I have tried over a dozen different permutations of the following, but nothing seems to work:
Me!Parent.Requery
Forms!VendorMain.Requery
Forms![Vendor_Query].Requery
Forms!Main-Menu!VendorMain.Requery
Etc...
VendorForm opens, edits, saves and closes perfectly. However, I consistently get the following error and the parent form is not requeried:
Runtime Error 2450 - Cannot find the referenced form VendorMain
Code available upon request.

I built a form—frmDataEntry—whose Record Source is a query called qryEvent, which contains various fields from tblEvent. The primary key field is called EventID.
I also build a subform—sfmDataEntry—whose Record Source is a query called qryEventImages, which contains various fields from tblItem. One of those fields is ItemEventLink, which links records from tblItem to the EventID field in tblEvent. There is also an image box in this subform: filling in the field ImageFile with an image name (example: Logo.jpg) causes that image to display in the image box.
I’ve inserted the subform into the form using the Subform Wizard. Now I’m getting an error message that says "2450: Microsoft Access cannot find the reference form ‘sfmDataEntry’." Why this is popping up. The Link Master Fields and Link Child Fields sections of the property sheet are filled in correctly. Moreover, the subform records are still appearing, but the images linked to each record aren’t loading.

I'm creating an item look-up form with 2 criteria that I wan't to auto-filter as the user types. I'm placing my code in the Change event of the textbox, and only calling the .text for the current textbox (.value or no property at all for the other). The filter works smoothly and as intended until it returns no results in my table, and then it pops me with the error. I've tried forcing focus to the textbox in different places throughout the code, but to no avail. If I use the .value or no property for the current textbox, I'm not getting the CURRENT text, but the old text before it was changed, so the filter doesn't work properly.
Private Sub txtVendor_Change()
Me.FilterOn = True
Me.Filter = _
"((strSearchVendor Like '*" & Me.txtVendor.Text & "*' AND strSearchItem LIKE '*" & Me.txtPartNum & "*'))"
Me.txtVendor.SelStart = Len(Me.txtVendor.Text)
End Sub
It usually pops the error on the last line "Len(Me.txtVendor.Text)", but I've had it do it on the Me.Filter line as well (only when debugging and messing with next statement placement).

I have been writing databases for several years now, so I know my way around access pretty good. I have come upon a strange error though. which is confusing me to now end. I wrote a Database on my work machine which has the latest version of MS Access and SP2 for Office. I just tried to send it to another employee for them to test. Now they do not have the full version of MS Access installed on their machine, they only have the runtime version which only runs the Database. The load works fine and the first screen uses ADO to lookup some value and display them in a list box, nothing crazy, everything works fine. Now using this form, when they click a button the info in the list box is used to set the Fields a new Unbound form. And this is where the error happens. The on_load event of the form fails for some reason, and gives a msgbox which says, "Runtime error occured and the App needs to close", but the prog works fine on my machine. I am baffled. The file is a MS Access 2000 format, I tried changing it to MS Access 2002/2003 Format, and when I do that they cannot open the file because it says they do not have thje latest MS Access version. I have no idea what, why the error occurs, any ideas??

I'm trying to open a recordset in vba and I'm getting the 3061 runtime error,Expected 1.
I'm trying to open a recordset with a query that uses a reference to a form control.
Code:
searchtable1 = "qInVisio_RSV"
Set rs = db.OpenRecordset(searchtable1, dbOpenDynaset, dbSeeChanges)
This is the sql of the query:
The highlighted parted is the form referance ( I know it's obvious, just for easier spotting )
Code:
SELECT dbo_FOLIO.FOLIOID, dbo_FOLIO.KIND, dbo_FOLIO.RSVID, dbo_FOLIO.CHKIDATE, dbo_RLIST.ROOMID, dbo_ROOM.ROOMNO, dbo_AGN.LINAPRG
FROM (dbo_ROOM INNER JOIN (dbo_FOLIO INNER JOIN dbo_RLIST ON dbo_FOLIO.RSVID = dbo_RLIST.RSVID) ON dbo_ROOM.ROOMID = dbo_RLIST.ROOMID) LEFT JOIN dbo_AGN ON dbo_FOLIO.AGNID = dbo_AGN.AGNID
WHERE (((dbo_FOLIO.KIND)=101) AND ((dbo_FOLIO.CHKIDATE)>=[Forms]![frmCleaningPlan]![DTPicker]));
also as you can see it's a datepicker control, so the value is a date...

We are currently using Access 2007 and I've got a database that sends emails out to multiple users depending on the data that was entered. We are about to upgrade to Access 2010 and I am testing it now. I was originally getting runtime error '287' when I was adding addresses to a Recipient object. I got past that by adding the addresses in a string and concatenating. Now I'm getting the error with .Send.

WindowsNT 4.0 Service Pack 6 error in access runtime install
I have an access runtime install package that has worked numerous times
installing on XP Home. It was built using Office XP developer's packaging
wizard.
I tried installing it on a brand new PC running XP Home but it generates the
error:
Visual Basic 6.0 Setup Toolkit
The office system pack cannot be installed on this system because it
requires Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 or later.
I cannot find any info on this - any ideas?

I have been working on a bound form that I can't seem to get working.
It records deliveries and what I am trying to achieve is after the form has been filled in the user will click a save button where the record will be added to the table and a record automatically printed via a report and emailed to the shop manager, but i keep getting the error "No Current record" no matter what way I try to do it, I have tried using to run the report. Is the best way for me to accomplish this o change it to an unbound for and run an insert query on click?
I have attached a copy of what I have been working on : DatabaseDelivery.accdb

I'm using Access 2010 and I want to export a query to Excel by clicking a button. Every time I click on it Excel opens but doesn't open my worksheet, it's just gray like you just open the program without a table. After exiting it Access tells me I got a run time error 1004: the open-method of the workbook object couldn't be executed. After opening my Excel file it says that Excel found unreadable content and asks if I want to restore the content of the workbook.
Here is my code:
Code:
Private Sub Befehl62_Click()
Dim cdb As DAO.Database, qdf As DAO.QueryDef, SheetName As String, xlApp As Object
Set cdb = CurrentDb
Forms!Export_to_Excel!txtSheetName.SetFocus
SheetName = Me!txtSheetName.Text
[code]....
where my problem is?

I saw a demo that the user could copy and paste a JPG format file physically to ACCESS, and then something happened, and ACCESS could read the JPG length and width size (e.g. 1.3 meter length and 1.15 meter width) into 2 individual ACCESS cells which is acted the same as user input to that 2 clells.

When distributing a program using 2010 runtime, I find that the spell check doesn't work. Is there a spell-check .dll or is there anyway I can get a spell checker?I have several memo fields with long report-type data entry which is being keyed by mutants. Spell checking is essential to get an intelligible report.

I have a Access front end connected to a MS SQL database using a ODBC connection which is working fine of course.
When I compile it as a runtime version and install it on the business computer I get an error with the ODBC connection (I can't remember exactly what pops up). On the business computer I have installed SQL Native Client and in the ODBC added a System DSN (which works).

My office recently purchased Microsoft Access for our secretary to keep track of our contacts. No other employee owns Access so we have to distribute the tables through Access Runtime. However, there seems to be a problem.
I save and publish a database using the Packaging Wizard. I then send the associated folder with the install program to a computer which has Access Runtime installed on it. But, when I install the file I created with Packaging Wizard it just opens an Access window that is completely blank. It's actually the same thing that occurs when I try to open an Access file on a computer that doesn't have Access or Runtime installed on it at all.

I have created an application. It has a split front end and back end. I plan to distribute the runtime version. I have used code throughout that "hides" the microsoft access shell for popup (modal) windows. In every form & report I have a function to show or hide the access window. Everything works great until I get to my reports. I open reports in print preview. I created a custom table (USysRibbons) and added a Reports print preview ribbon & xml. I assigned that ribbon to my report(s), and I assigned it in options as the default ribbon. If I test the ribbon (by working in the database using "shift" open) I see my ribbon. But, in when I open app without shift or or if I emulate runtime, I can't get the ribbon.
I have multiple popups forms, several non popup forms and a couple of reports.I just want to keep all the access background stuff hidden - except for needing the ability to print.

:confused: I have a particular Windows XP Home edition machine that is giving me a headache...
On the DB - users can access a form that displays pictures in a Picture control (via file path) with no problem at all. The problematic machine displays 'Access does not recognise the file format and so can't load the picture....' or something of that ilk....
Yet the file format is JPG and if I use the qualified path (on this same machine), eg. \SERVERFolderPicsPICTURE.JPG from the XP Start/Run menu - XP Image viewer opens and displays the JPG with no problem at all!
Why is this happening only on this XP machine and not on the others..???
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance.
Regards
Guido
