I need to create a method of calculating -week number, hours worked per week and a leiu hours total.
Explanation
Users enter their worked hours per day. I need to calculate the total hours worked per user per week and if this is greater or less than their contracted hours a record of this figure over a continual time period (or year).
Variables :- Time worked,Holiday hours,Leiu hours taken,Sick leave, Other authorised leave.
I realise that i'm asking on a lot but working for a charity has financial limits.
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, this is my first time. I hope someone can help me with my problem. I am creating a small database using Access at my work place. I came forward with 2 problems. 1. I need to create a field (Down Time) in a form that can store hours and minutes like 40:30. If I format the field as Short Date it wont allow me value higher than 23:59. Also, let you know that I am using the field (Down Time) in a calculation.i.e. Run Time - Down Time = Actual Time. 2.I also need a help on for the following calculation. Unit per Minute =Quantity(number field)/Actual Time. Your help is greatly appriciated.
I have a table with the start and end of their shifts.
We have four possible locations and four weeks.
So I have four tables for each location.
I have a module that can work out hours and deductions based on time in and out. I built that into a seperate databse working on a one time in and one time out setup.
I want to incorporate the two so I can get the hours worked over four weeks at all locations and divide that by 4 to get the average weekly hours for a staff member.
I have 6 machines that run jobs Monday thru Friday but I will focus on doing one machine to avoid confusion.
The machine will be running 23 hours a day Monday thru Thursday and 18 hours on Friday and is shut down on Saturday and Sunday. Monday morning at 5am (start of the work week) Job A starts. The job will run for 30 hours. Then Job B will run for 160 hours. I need to know when Job B will start and end. Although it would be nice to know the time of day, just knowing the date would be good enough.
As I said I have 6 machines and each one is running anywhere from 7 to 10 jobs. My end result could be nothing more than a report, but a datasheet form would be ideal. On Mondays, new jobs are added and schedule is updated based on actual productivity from the prior week.
I need to make a report that shows a work schedule for 10 employees. I need it to print in a monthyly calendar format with horizontal lines to show start and end date and time. I need it to show that there is or is not any overlap for that machine."
It has been a while since I have created a DB and I get some of this okay. So far I think I need three tables. One is the machines. Two is the product schedule (how long it takes to produce X number of products). The last would be work orders and that pretty much covers the data.
I think most of the data can be maniputated by queries and that is even done on the report. The report as we all know is the reason for a database. If it was just about the data it would be simpler to do a spreadsheet. It could get fancy and make a pivot table. That output can be a calendar of sorts.
I have been tasked at my work to create a database for tracking time off from work. I have built several databases in Access 2003 and have now transitioned to 2010 and it is seems to be going well. My past databases have been rather simple data in data out not really that big of a deal. However on this database they need a report that will show them a week view that shows them all the employees regular days off and any additional time off they have schedule in that week.
I have an employee info table that has employee basic info, Emp name, Emp number, Work Week code (which identifies which days off the employee has) Hire Dates (for seniority sorting) and then I have 7 fields listed as D1, D2, D3 and so on until D7 (I will try to explain these fields later).
I have another table (Time Requests) that has 3 fields, Date, Emp number, and Time code (which identifies why they are off work or unavailable to be assigned).
The last table I will refer to has 7 fields, they are Date1, Date 2 – Date7
I now have a form. This form has the 7, fields Date1, Date2 – Date7.
On my form Date1 field is updated by a manager with a date that is a Sunday then Date2 = [Date1]+1, Date3 = [Date1]+2 and so on until I have all 7 fields showing date from Sunday – Saturday.
These fields are lined across the top in a vertical direction positioned above a subform of the employee info table. So directly below the 7 Date fields are the D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, D6, D7 fields then to the right is the Emp name and Emp number, This gives me a Week view of who is working.
I have been able to get the D1, D2….. fields to show their respective Work Week codes by writing very simple “If Then” statements . So here is where I AM STUCK…When I am showing this week view how do I get D1 –D7 to identify what date they are supposed to be in reference to Date1 – Date7 then compare themselves to the table “Time Requests” to see if they have a match and then set the value of D1, D2 …. to the “Time code” in that table. D1 – D7 need to auto populate and do this for about 50 employees.
Here is a screen shot of what I have so far and where I am stuck: [URL] ....
I have a table full of meter readings. I want to have a field called consumption which looks at the reading just entered for that month and then subtracts the previous months reading for that meter which leaves the consumption.
Can I get a formula that can work this out automatically?
I need to create a database use access that the access can update the database based on a schedule, like daily. For example, in the table there are several columns, and each column stands for a meter point, and in real world, each meter will have a reading every 5 mins. Now the database consists of all the readings till yesterday 11:55pm, by right, tomorrow for example at 8am, the database will update the readings till tonight 11:55pm, today's readings will be placed right after below yesterday 11:55pm row in the same table. The data source will be generated in CSV file every day 8am and put into a specific folder. What I need to do is to update them into this database.
- tbl_company (containing company info) - tbl_employee (containing employees info) - tbl_cim (containing working contracts info, related with both tbl_company and tbl_empployee)
In the tbl_cim i have starting date of the contract, working time per day (in hors, according to the contract), ending date of the contract, etc.
I need: - once a month i have to generate a "excel-like" sheet containing employees (rows) on a selected company, days of the month (1-31) i choose (columns) and hors worked on each day (according to the working_time from tbl_cim). The working hours i have to be able to modify. - the days before start date of the contract have to be empty; the days after end date, also. - the saturdays and sundays have to be marked ina different color (cell background).
I ask: - what tables i have to create additionally? - how can i create a form for this infos? - is there a way to do this with less vba as possible?
In my country, Romania, this type of "spreadsheet" is called a "pontaj" and companies have to do it every month. I would like to step from Excel to Access with it.
I am facing one problem while calculating the number of hours an employee spent in the office. Each employee will have a swipe card and the swipe data is stored in an .mdb file. Some employees will have different shifts and may come after 6pm and will go next day 5 am , while calculating their spent hours getting the problem. The swipe data is stored in IOData table , I wrote a simple query below to get the data., it is calculating correctly for the employees who come in between 11AM to 8PM but who are coming after 6PM and going next day , facing problem. Time is storing in 24 hour format in table with Status as Entry,Exit . There may be any no.of exits and entries , so i took min and max of the time in the below query.
I am attaching the mdb file data in an excel sheet(Master_Data.xls) and also the data of the below query(Swipe_Data.xls) and highlighting the employee for which we got problem.
SELECT HD.JobTitle, HD.HolderName, IO.IODate,IO.IOStatus, min(IO.IOTime), max(IO.IOTime), DateDiff("n", min(IO.IOTime), max(IO.IOTime)) AS Minutes, [Minutes] 60 & Format([Minutes] Mod 60, ":00") FROM HolderData AS HD, IOData AS IO WHERE HD.HolderNo = IO.HolderNo and HD.DepartmentNo IN ('0008', '0009') and IO.IODate between #01/20/2014# and #01/24/2014# GROUP BY HD.JobTitle, HD.HolderName, IO.IODate,IO.IOStatus;
I am in the process of putting together a database for use in a hotel to log details of customers, enquiries, and sales.
I have one table for storing customer contact details in ("Customers"), another table for storing enquiry details in ("Enquiries") and a third table for storing sales data in ("Sales").
Each record in Sales is linked to a customer from the Customer table, so with a simple query you can see what any given customer has spent their money on.
My boss would like to have a list of who her "top 10" customers are, over a given period, so she can work out who spends the most. I was wondering if there is a simple way to do this?
The only way to do this that I can think of is to run a query for every customer (to isolate their sales data), use the total function to add their sales together, note down the total, and input into excel (to work out the ranking). However, seeing as we have been collecting data for around a month now and have around 400 customers in the database this would clearly take a very long time. Is it possible to automate this process?
I am trying to make a report in which I can see the amount of money that I have to pay weekly to an employee. To explain myself clearer, I have different rates for each employee. For example:
NameNormalPayRateVacationPayRateSickPayRateOvertimePayRateStandbyPayRate John Smith$15$10$15$30$8 Ken Jonson$10$8$10$20$8
I am doing this in a query. So what I want to be able to do is, for example, take 4 hours that the employee worked at NormalPayRate and multiply it. But if tomorrow the employee worked at a different rate, for example 3 hours overtime, I want those 3 hours multiplied by OvertimePayRate.
The way I saw it on my Google researches, is that they have only one rate and the amount will be [SumOfHours]*[Rate]. But how can I tell my query to skip, for example, one rate because the employee didn't work at that rate that day. So I can have different amount for the different rates.
By the way, entering the information I can divide at what rate the employee worked x day. So if the employee work 6 hours at regular, and later on 4 hours at standby, I have those information separated in my table.
Results that I am getting: I can easily get the amount in money multiplying the whole hours by a rate, so my result in my report will be multiplied by the same rate.
The project I'm working on is an action list with the following tables;
itemnumber - autonumber PK originator - text dateentered - date/time actiondescription - text assignedto - text targetdate - date/time forecastdate - date/time actual date - date/time remarks - text due - text (not sure if this will be correct)
Basically, when a new task is entered, all info will be manually filled in except last 3 fields. targetdate needs to be locked after entry, and forecastdate initially set to targetdate.
"due" should show how many days between dateentered and forecast date, and preferably update everytime the DB is opened. IF the current date is beyond the forecast date, "due" should read "OVERDUE".
Changing forecastdate would obviously reset the "due" field to show how many days left to complete. If a date is entered into actualdate, then "due" should show COMPLETE.
Reports will be generated based on what is coming due, what is over due, and not show what is already complete.
I manage the production schedule of over 150 reports. Some of which are due daily, weekly, bi-weekly & monthly. (some reports have multiple due dates for the current month.) I have the production schedule in a table with multiple DueDate columns: DueDate1, DueDate2, DueDate3, etc. Some reports are due every business day of the week. I need to:
1.) Display the due dates (without having to enter them manually) so I can perform calculations, conditional formatting, etc.
2.) Should I display a column for each due date (31 columns accross for those that are due daily?) or show a duplicate row for that report for each day the report is due?
3) is there a formula that can be written to autopopulate the duedate fields for every instance and every month? (Sales_Report due every Mon, Wed, Fri (5/13/13, 5/15/13, 5/17)
I am currently putting these dates in manually every month and it would be a pain to continue that given our reporting production schedule will only increase.
I have a form which calculates many fields in the form. However, the issue that I have is how to use a different field in the query than the field that is shown in the drop down combo box in the calculation of an expression.
I'm using a calculation on my form that subtracts one number from another and stores the difference between the two in a 3rd field. This works correctly but I want the difference to show 1 decimal place at all times.
So for instance if subtract 35.1 from 35.2 I get a difference of "0.1".
But if I subtract 35.0 from 36.0 I get a difference of "1".
The first case is fine but I need the difference to be "1.0" in the second case.
I've set the number of decimal places in the table from auto to 1 and changed the format on the form to a standard number with 1 decimal place. Neither of these show a difference of 1 as "1.0"
Hey thereI'm currently doing an ICT project for some school work, in which we all have to make access databases. My database is based around a fictional company that provide driving lessons. I've set most of the tables up including clients employees, bookings etc, but i'm wondering if its possible to implement a schedule within access?I would like to know if its possible for say if someone booked 2 hours of lesson, 2 blocks within the schedule table would be filled, or similar to a calender function, e.g. each day has 6 openings within it, and as these become booked the next day is filled.i've searched around a bit and can't really find anything but i'm very new to access so any advice would be much appreciated, or just being told that it isnt possible to implement such a schedule or calender would also be useful as then i wont be wasting time looking :PHope i've posted this in the right place, sorry if i haven't.Thanks in advance.BenJust found this website: http://www.aislebyaisle.com/access/calendartool.htmkinda similar to what i'm looking to do, just wanna know if theres anyway of doing this thats less complex? or free?
