General :: Append And Update Records Daily From One Table To Another

I want to be able to append Records daily from table1 into table2 OnClose. But i do not want duplication of record in the same day.
If changes occurs in table1 after append,table2 should be updated using If conditions

Sep 14, 2013Trying to modify this calendar database to track employee leave. I need the calendar form (frmCalendar) to show all employee leave on the calendar using the "Show All" command button on click event. This works if I specify a uID (UserID from employee table) in the code, but only for that specific employee. I need all employees at the same time up on the calendar so I can see if there is more than one employee off on any given day.
Events or leave is populated on the form through "Private Sub DisplayEvents" and the mdlCalendar module.

Queries :: Rolling 12 Month Query - Keeping Track Of Orders Placed For Given Part Number By Month
May 5, 2014I am trying to create a database that will keep track of the orders placed for a given part number by month. Currently, my table houses the part number, and the ordered amount for the past three years by month (there are thirty-five columns for every part). My column headings are ORDER_MAY_2013, etc. I would like to set a query up that will look at the column headings and pull the amounts ordered for each part for the past twelve months. In other words, I have three years of data in my table. In my query, I just want one year. However, I don't want to have to rewrite the query every month so that it will pick up the new data. Is there a way to accomplish this?
Is there a better way to build this database? I thought about just have four columns in my table - PART_NUMBER, ORDER_MONTH, ORDER_YEAR, ORDER_AMOUNT. The only problem there, is that every part (there are about 450 parts) would have to be listed 35+ times. That seemed too redundant to me, so I built the table this way. However, now I am having trouble querying against it.
Update Access Table With Daily Excel Spreadsheet
Apr 28, 2014what I have in Access is a table which lists jobs via their HB Number (as well as a ID number access gives them). For each job there is a bunch of details and some Yes/No fields.Each day I will get a dump from another system that will list jobs like this, I then need to "Update" the Access table with any new information from the excel dump. The update would need to:
1. Insert new records (jobs) from Excel dump into Access Table
2. Update any of the records fields (except HB of course as its unique) in the access table from the Excel dump (the Excel dump obviously wont have access ID numbers, but will have the HB)For a real basic example:

the actually data has lots of different fields and many many many more records. But yeah basically need to update the table from an excel dump.I thought it was as simple as doing a Excel Import > Append Table thing in Access, but that just seems to add the new records and ignore the updated fields?
Modules & VBA :: Entering Orders Into The Orders Table?
Mar 5, 2014I have a database where I have 3 tables. first is client data, second orders data and third the products data.
What I would like, is to have a button on my form that after selecting from a combobox a product, it wil enter it in the tabel orders in the next available free record (row). I created a button and the combobox in the client form. The Products table has also the price per unit in it. It should take the whole row of data and put it in the Orders table.
Is there a way to do this? I guess it needs to be done with vba, but not sure.
General :: Including Custom Notes On Orders
Feb 24, 2015I'm looking to simplify some aspects of our company's order database, including standard notes that appear on the sales orders that we send to customers. We have different lines of business and the notes vary. We currently have several reports, depending on the type of order, with the notes hard coded in labels. It's not an elegant, nor scalable, solution.
Our ideal solution: One order report only, with an option for the user to select one or more notes from a list when they enter the order. I'm thinking a popup form with a checkbox next to each note, where each checked note will print on the order report.

Feb 16, 2013I am writing a database to track our (and others) wine collections. i'm wanting to track what bottle is where. so i can look up what i have, look up where i have put it and away i go to get it, simple right?
just to complicate things i want a system in place. where the end user and use forms to add/remove or modify wine racks.
assuming that all racks are rectangular i would like to be able to add a rack and call it rack 1. rack 1 has 4 shelves all able to hold 5 bottles. the database would then say that bottle X is in rack 1 shelf 1 position 1.
if possible there will aslo be a screen that is auto generated by the database showing a simple grid with grrn and red squares denoting if the position if full or empty. the ability to click on a position to see what is in there or to add a bottle there would be amasing but not fussed if that can't be done.

Jul 7, 2014I want a field in my table (called 'ContactTotal') that tracks the total number of times the date was changed in the field 'LastContacted' - through either table or a form, but it should exclude any changes made on the same day.
I'd also like a second field (called 'Popularity') that does the same thing, but multiplies any changes made in the last 3 months by 3, the last 3-6 months by 2, the last 12 months by 1 and anything before that by 0.

May 18, 2015We have small data dumps from a webservice delivered to us daily in csv format. I'd like to create a system where we can have the data automatically imported into either Access.
My idea is this:
1. CSV is downloaded to <x> folder.
2. Scheduled Task runs script to look in folder <x>
3. If CSV is found in folder <x>, import it's data into a fixed Access db->table.
4. Move CSV to an archive folder to avoid re-processing.
Is this feasible? How complicated would it be, and how to get it on track?
General :: Track Number Of Records In A Query
Nov 20, 2012I have a form based on a query. I've disabled "Navigation Buttons" on the form and am trying to recreate their functionality in a little more user friendly way. I've created next / previous record buttons and have those working great.
I'm now trying to re-create the record counter / tracker. I'd like to setup a box that shows which record I'm on (this can simply be based on the order the query returns them, the same way the navigation buttons does it when they are enabled. ), and how many records there are total in the query.
I tried messing around a little bit with =DCount but wasn't able to make it work I suspect because I'm counting the number of records returned in a query, not in a table.

May 11, 2015I have a login screen that works fine but I need to lock some part of the system from normal users but I can't figure out how to track if the user who is logged on is security level is high and can authorize the transaction!!!
I have users table and in it I record the users, passwords, security level. So when someone logs on I have no way of knowing who they are and in order check their security level. I did it in the past by setting the C drive VOL into a value and search but as we use Citrix XenApp this is not possible the C drive is the server drive and if multiple users login to to that server then the VOL value would be wrong.

Here's what I would like:
A table of the employees and their location.
A table of the metrics.
A form that you can select an employee and it would autofill the location and then you could fill out the metrics.
the ability to change an employee's location without it effecting past records.
A report, by month and location of the employee's metrics. (pretty sure I can do this on my own, just can't get to this point.)
I've tried to use a auto lookup query but that then changes the employees location on past records.

Example:
You earn a licence to do X. You need to renew your licence every 2 years or so. But also, to maintain currency, you need to do what the licence gives you the right to do often enough, or else you need to do a test.
Specifically, you need to do X a specified number of times N within, say, last 3 months at any one time to maintain currency. If you have lost your currency, you need to do a test/check. So at all times, you need to have N times on record within last 3 months, or a test.
In addition, to do X legally, you also need to document that you have done X at least 10 hours within, say, last 6 months, or that you have another test within those last 6 months. This is independet of the previous requirement (concerning the number of times you did X).
Both requirements must be fulfilled at all times for you to do X legally.
So, any suitable model out there? Essentially, something capable of defining and tracking currency for various ratings and license privileges of pilots would do just fine.

Should I create a table with many date fields (up to several); or just two; one FROM and one TO and try to draw the information out through a query? Feb 25, 2014I have a report that shows the daily activities. it shows how long it takes to do each task. however some tasks are 8 hours andsome are 10 hours. when all these times are added together it will give the time on a clock. not a total of hours spent.
i.e.
treatment1 : 8 hours
treatment2: 10 hours
this will give 06:00 in short time. in medium time it will give 18:00.
however if I add another 12 hours to that it will give 06:00.
I want it to show either 1 day and 4 hours /or 30 hours.
