I have a Access 2010 DB. The mainform have a subform with one table alone.
I have a button who close Access when the user are finish on the mainform. Still I have the upper right corner X-button who also closing the app.
My problem is that when the user use the X-button then a dialog box appear and ask for saving the changes for the table in the subform on the main form. The user must then do the choise 'yes' , 'no' , 'Cancel'.
There is no need for this dialog box, (I take care if it's necessary earlier) but I can't get rid of it.

I do not have a split db. I am prompted to enter my password when the db opens which is fine. However, when I close the db it prompts me to enter a password (not normal) and when I enter it it says invalid password. Also, when I try to change my password it says invalid password and when I try to compact and repair my db it say invalid password.

Where would I access the event properties for when the entire database closes? Something like the On_Close event for a form, but for the whole database.
I want to have Access prompt to back up the database upon exit, so when someone clicks the close button, a dialog box opens and asks "Do you want to back up?" with an Yes or No option. Yes would obviously run the backup code, and No would simply exit.

I've been working on a large project for my employer for a year now (but software development isn't part of my normal day to day duties). Most of the work (around 70%) has been done in my own time at home. The company were going to buy a system that would be customized by developers at a cost of around $60,000. I've developed a solution that is probably better than what they would have got. At my last appraisal my boss said that it had been discussed that i would be rewarded if i delivered it. My question is:
Is it possible to password protect access to the source code? I'm working with Access 2003 just now. I know I can create a .mde file to prevent access to the source code but that would make further development difficult. e.

I am just starting out learning how to connect Access to Excel. From an Access form, I need to connect to an Excel spreadsheet, and loop through every row/column to look for data that matches a database field data, then populates the associated cell data. I don't want to import the spreadsheet since the user who created it is using it manually, and I am attempting to automate the task. This is probably the most elementary code, but I would like to start out with the best way to do this. What I am finding is code that appears to be much more complicated than I need, for more complicated situations.

I have a 'tblStock' with fields 'ProductID', 'InitialStock', 'Buy', 'Sell' and 'UpdatedStock'. I also have a form 'StockUpdate' add values and also add new records to 'tblStock' .
If I have value [100] for IntialStock quantity, Buy [0] and sell [10], UpdatedStock will be [90] (that's done and fine!).
The problem is, I would like to make the UpdatedStock value [90] to be the NEW InitialStock, so that any BUY or SELL will keep updating the UpdatedStock and making it the NEW InitialStock for the next transactions and so on....

I have a bound form with a few fields. I would like to run a sub after some of these fields are modified, but not others. I would like it to run only once, after user finishes his work on the form.
When using the Unload event - the form on the form is not there anymore (or did I get something wrong?).
Is there a way to trap Data on form just before the form closes?

I have a split db that has been in use for a few years by about 12 people. The front end is compiled into an accde file.
Ocasionally a user (randomly) might get an error message "Microsoft has detected that this database is in an inconsistent state...." when closing the db and when that happens, a copy of the front end is automatically placed on their desktop.
This front end is always deleted and the original front end continues to work just fine afterwards.
Why are my users getting this error message? Why is the front end automatically copied onto their desktops?

I have a Ms Access split database where in the backend database grows up very fast and needs to be compressed everyday. I have written a batch script to compact the same and have scheduled it to be run every night. But the script is unable to compress the backend every time since the users tend to leave the application open at the end of the day. Ideally i am looking for a command line script to forcefully close the back end database if open before attempting to compact it.
I searched on web but could not find a command line script for forcefully closing the back end database.

I have recently done a fresh install of access 97 to our 2003 server. I load up an access app, it brings up a form with a button...I clidk the button, and it closes the app with no errors, and leaves the ldb file in tact. Checking the event viewer, I get this message:
Faulting application msaccess.exe, version 8.0.0.5903, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00202878.
It appears to be on the buttons that open forms / reports, but not those that run queries. Any ideas?

Recently Access has started to suddenly close. Usually when I have been developing although I do not appreas to have lost anything as I Save, Save, Save all the time. Last week I had a report that a live access 2000 is doing the same thing. Users are in the middle of entering data and suddenly the database is gone, with no messages. They can re-open the database and continue.
Anyone else experiencing this problem with Access 2000?
