I'm currently running a replicated database in Access 2003 (plan on migrating to 2010; but have several users on 2003). I guess I pushed the number a fields within a table to be close to the 255 max and of course had a conflict in that table which put me over the top. Now if I receive the following error: "Cannot add a new column to conflict table 'Table_conflict'. Delete obsolete columns and compat the database."Since this will occur with all of my replicas is there a way do either automatically clear the data in the 'Table_conflict' or remove the table?
I am using access 2010. I have "classlevel" table with 2 columns-Class and Value1 .Value1 column has numeric values that i ll input from webpage (webpage to ms access connectivity).
I want to sum the values of column "Value1" and i have another table-"Volume" which has 2 columns "VolumeLevel" and "Value2". So i want to match the sum that i calculated from first table-"ClassLevel" with the "value2" column in "Volume" table and get the corresponding "volumelevel" column value from that table and there is a third table that will get this volumelevel value.
There is no common column to join these tables.
Classlevel-
Class Value1 Class 0 3000 Class 1 2000 Class 2 300 Class 3 400 Class 4 500
I have a form with subform that uses colour as background colour for all fields on the form, and also a very light background for the whole form. This outputs very well to PDF, retaining all of the layout etc.
However, consisting of over 100 pages I do not want any colour at all in the printed report, no do I want the colour converted to black or grey. Inkjet cartridges are just too expensive!
Is there an easy way to remove all colour before printing or do I have to design another report?
I tried splitting my main database in Access 2010 but came up with a 'subscript out of range' error, so in order to solve this, I've imported all my database objects into a new database. The splitting process (and other problems like web incompatibility) issue is now solved and works fine, but for some weird reason, all the objects that are one particular shade of blue in the forms and reports (shape fill, outlines, text colour) have changed to red.
Blue: Accent 1, Darker 25% (the colour i want) Red: Accent 2, Darker 25% (the colour it changes to)
There is no code anywhere that specifies these colours in any sense, and even importing single forms at a time as a test yields the same result. I could change them all back manually to the right blue, but seeing as there are around 900 forms and reports, each with multiple labels/shapes etc...well you get the point.
I have a SELECT INTO query that pulls info and drops it into a table, after deleting the target table and making it anew upon insertion of the selected records... Is there some way to accomplish the same feat without deleting the target table, so I could retain the target table's fields/field lengths?
I would first set up a target table with fields of specific lengths, and when the data is inserted, the data that fits would insert into these fields, and data that didn't would be truncated..I guess my problem is that when the new table is created it makes all the fields string 255 which is too long when I goto export the data, without having to clip/trim the data for use.
Is there a way to have multiple validation rules in one column in a table. In one column, I need the values to be in all lower case and the first three characters need to be three letters.
I've been updating the look of some of my db's and am trying to access the new style colour picker per Office 2007/10.
Up to now I have been using
Private Declare Function ChooseColorAPI Lib "comdlg32.dll" Alias "ChooseColorA" (pCHOOSECOLOR As ChooseColor) As Long
which displays the pre 2007 style.
I've looked all over the web but cannot find anything relating to the current style (other than using it from the ribbon or control properties), so not sure if I should be looking for a different function or a change to the ChooseColor type values.
All db's are running 32bit access and at the moment 32bit OS but will no doubt have OS upgrades to 64bit soon.
I would like to get a third party to edit a database and record those edits by changing the colour of the font. I know this can be done in layout mode, but it changes the font in all records, I only wish to change the font colour in one record, how I can do this, without changing all the records in the database.
create a datasheet from 2 odbc linked tables which I will be exporting to Excel. The resulting datasheet will have four columns, 'Purchase Order Number' 'Stock Code' 'Delivery Date' 'Unit Price'. The information I require in the datasheet is a unique stock code (one occurrence of each stock code) with the most recent unit price based on the last delivery date for each product. The linked tables contain many Purchase Orders for the same stock codes over a time period of a number of years where the unit price has varied.
I'm trying to query excel file which contains a column named "Date", so when I'm trying to do a query like "select * from Table_Name" it's working fine, and I'm getting all the data including the column named Date, but when I'm doing any query which is referencing "Date" I'm getting an error "Syntax error in date in query expression" This is due-I think- to the fact that Date is a reserved word...but when I'm trying to change the column name Date to anything else say "Date_Debut" the problem is still there, so is there any special thing to do when querying Date column type? Please help! Thanks, welid
In the organisation that I work for employees get paid every 2 weeks on a Saturday. So for this financial year the pay period end dates have been 08/07/2006, 22/07/2006, 05/08/2006 etc
I have a column in an Access table listing various dates. I want the next column to be populated with the next pay period end date after that date.
So if DATE is 05/07/2006 I want PAY PERIOD END to be 08/07/2006 and if DATE is 09/07/2006 I want PAY PERIOD END to be 22/07/2006 etc
I am creating a repayment schedule (as a report) and I want to display a series of fields as a column which return (show) a date one month after the date in the field above.
The first repayment date field (Line 1) will show a date one month after the loan was paid out. the Next field below will show the date one month later.
I can't simply insert the "Date + 30" because that would get out of since over the year. If the loan was issued on say the 15th of January, I need the first field to display 15th February and the next would be .... 15th March.... Yes - You've got it!
Now I could do that in Excel, but I don't know how to get Access to do it.
I have a table having column as date, format as mm/dd/yyyy and i update the column as now() using VBA.However some places the date is in mm/dd/yyyy and in some mm/dd/yyyy nn:mm:ss are appearing which is making the filtering of the data ambuige.
I am trying to add a value to a column in a query based on the value of another column.
I am using an iif statement for it but can't get it to work. I have a column called [Was Worker Born in UK] which has 3 options of "Yes, "No" and "Unknown". The next column is the [COUNTRYOFBIRTH] column.
I basically want [COUNTRYOFBIRTH] to say "866" if [Was Worker Born in UK] is "Yes".
i didn't think things through when i initially created the DB, and created a column called dateOfBirth that holds user entered dates as dd/mm/yyyy. This causes many query issues, and I would LOVE to have this changed.
Is there a script i can run that will take dateOfBirth, determine the month, write the month as Jan/Feb/Mar/... in a column named dobMonth, and take the day value from dateOfBirth (1-31) to a column called dobDay?
this is part of my table. It mean that empid-1 will work task 2 from 17/7/2013until 20/7/2013.Now i face problem in query that I have criteria that emp_id is 1 and date is 23/7/2013, I want to know which task_id assigned to emp 1 on 23/7/2013. The result should return 3 as the task_id
