I have designed a datasheet in a subform and it has a nested datasheet inside of it. I have it all designed and now I want to disable the user from doing anything to either, such set column widths, set colours etc. How would I do that?

when i click on the datasheet row and delete the row it only delete the record from tbl_SerialTrans but record on tbl_Serial was not deleted
is there any way to delete it?
I have a subform in datasheet view and a button on the main form which is used to clear all filters in the subform.
The button's OnClick event calls a procedure on the subform. The procedure in the subform has the following code :

I also have debug print outs which shows the current filter on the forms OnLoad and OnClose events.
Everything works fine but somehow when I reopen the main form (with subform) the filter gets reset to the previous one.
I can change filters and that saves ok but if I clear filter it always returns to the previous ones when I reopen the form containing the subform...
For reference the filter string in subform looks like "(qrySubformQuerySource.Fieldname)="xx""
I have a subform that is in Datasheet view. If I open this subform on it's own, the Date Picker works for the Date field. However, if I open the main form with the subform on it, the date picker doesn't work? Nothing happens when I select a date on the calender.
I am using MS Access 2010.
I already make textbox name: TbBanyak on subform footer with control source =sum([Jumlah])
I success display it on mainform with texbox control source =[Jualsubform].[Form]![TbBanyak]
how to enter/record the result to table record??
I have a query that creates a table.
I then use another query to sort and remove duplicate entries, using the 'Totals' option Group By and Last.
I then export the datasheet to an Excel spreadsheet.
All goes well, except that the headers on the spreadsheet show LastOfXXXX or GroupByXXXXX. Now I can run a replace function in Excel to remove LastOf and GroupBy from each column header, but it would be more useful if the replace routine was performed prior to the export to Excel.
I've got a main form with two lists boxes. I want to show the visible columns in my subform (which is a datasheet) in one listbox and show the hidden columns in the other. Also I want to allow the user to hide / show columns using right or left arrow buttons between the list boxes. My subform is bound to a stored procedure using ADO.

My problem is that I keep getting a message telling me that someone else is editing the record.. which is an impossibility as it is a stand-alone copy on my hard-drive at home! How is this possible? Will this problem be solved once I have this database on the sql server and the tables has been upsized to sql? Also this database is to be used by up to 100 people is this going to be a problem?

is there any way in which i can prevent the user operating a form from adding or deleting or editing any records ?
Good morning! I'm building a database for use by four technicians in a call-center type operation. The call records are purely transactional in nature -- once the call has been logged, the record is closed. If the customer calls again, a new record is opened.
The supervisor doesn't want the techs to be able to go back and edit a record once it's entered -- the records are for quality-control purposes and he doesn't want them gaming the system by going back and changing things after the initial call is logged (let's not discuss the issue of employee psychology, motivation, Office Space, etc.). So I'm trying to figure out how to do that; they all have wheel mice, and I can currently see all the records as I scroll back and forward with my mouse wheel, so I'm assuming they'll be able to, as well.
Any help?

I have a form and I want show a message on the form when the it is locked as another user is editing the data in a particular record.
I know the record selectors show the records lock status but it a very tiny symbol which will mean nothing to the users of the database and anyway I don't want record selector bar on the form. How I would do this???

I create a form using a wizard, then I go into my subforms and edit it to look more easy on the eye. I save the form and close it, when I re-open the form it looks fine except that the subform appears as a blank white space with
Name Subform in top left corner of the sub form??

I've got a master form, which is used to search for records, and display links to them in a list box. When the user selects a record, they get the full details of the record on a subform. At the top of the subform, I have two buttons, an edit button, which allows them to make changes to the record, and a "new" button, which allows them to create a new record.
My problem is, after a new record is created, the subform adds a new page. So instead of having record one of 1, it shows record 2 of 2. So if a new record is saved, and the user tries to access another record, nothing appears because the subform stays on record 2 of 2(which is a blank undirtied record). If you press navigation button back it will show the record they selected.
Maybe I could make the new form a pop up form, and pass it parameters rather than making a new form within the subform.
I've tried putting the command DoCmd.GoToRecord , , acPrevious in the subforms Current() method, but I get an error saying I cannot go to the previous record.
I'm successful in adding data from the form to the table using VBA. But I couldn't retrieve and edit the data. For retrieving and editing the data I have a different form "[Forms]![Editor]". I have all the fields listed in the image in both the form and table.
1. I want to allow the user to search and retrieve a specific row based on the condition Incident ID and the Package code are same
2. I want the user to edit the fields in the form and update it in the same row again.

View 14 Replies View RelatedIn my form I have a subform, which displays A, B, C. Then information C is displayed in textbox. User should have a possibility to modify this data in order to modify data in database.
I am able to display information C in text box based on this subform. However it is uneditable, although property of enabled is yes and locked is no.
It seems to me, that it is impossible to edit data because it is taken not directly from database but from sub form, so I make special query which takes data directly from database however I lose an event which is based on selecting proper record from subform (there is only onEnter and onExit events)
I have many forms in my database, three of which completely freeze the database if I edit the slightest thing on them. These forms are all the same, and are unique to any other type of form in my database.
An example of one of the forms is the following:
The form is an "Edit Record" form which allows the user to edit a record directly from a form without going into the table. It is only possible to bring up the edit form by going to the main navigation form that consists of various buttons which a user would press, in this case the user would press the "Edit Record" button. This brings up a unique search form that allows a user to search for a record to edit. The user types their search parameter into the form and once the "search" button is pressed it will bring up the record with all the details in a different form.
Note - The search form is linked to the table where the edit record form is linked to a query.
My problem is this:
I have three buttons on the form; Exit, Cancel & Finish Editing.
All I wanted to do was to ammend the code of the buttons so that "Finish Editing" wouldn't close the form onced pressed and that "Cancel" would simply undo the actions of the user instead of undo and then close the form.
I know exactly how to do the ammendments. But, once completed if you return to the main navigation and click on the "edit" button the search form appears and allows you to type in the search parameters, but once the "Search" button is clicked the search form closes and you are returned to the main navigation where you are unable to click anything in access or even close the programme.
Any issues with using Access 2010 to edit an mdb file..I know there are backward incompatibility issues with 2007 and 2010, but these are both accdb formats.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn A2010 I maintain a database originally created in A2003. The original version was locked down tight. In A2010 I struggled to do the same but got there in the end, as well as allowing me a back door way in.
Now I have an unexpected problem - in the object browser (or whatever it's called) on the left hand side I can no longer copy any object. EG, I want to copy a form for safe keeping while I edit the original.
I want to lock archive records so that they can't be edited, however I want them available to users for viewing. So for example if the file is "closed" the record can not be changed.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a multi user database in Access 2000 that is on a server. The individual users have shortcuts pointing towards the server instance. One user and one user only when opening the shortcut gets the error "you do not have exclusive rights to the database" .
All other users can enter the database with no error box. I have checked the advanced setting under options and they are correct. Ironically if you go to start and open access then navigate to the database shortcut. It opens with no error.
I have encountered several times, and now, that after using any "cut and paste" or "copy and paste" on VBA code in the event sub, even for a few words, Access does not allow me to exit when I answer 'Yes' to save the changes. It forces me to respond "No" to exit and re-enter any changes again without using copy or cut and paste.
This is very troublesome and error-prone in program development that the program statements cannot be moved or copies to another location of the program module.
I have over 30 TextBoxes and ComboBoxes on the form and about 20 pages of program code, using Access 2010 (same situation for Access 2013) on Windows7 PC with 4GB of RAM.
I have a form and a datasheet subform in Access. A form has person info and datasheet subform has 4 fields: QuestionID, QuestionNumber, QuestionName and Answer fields. The Answer field is a dropdown field and has 3 items: Yes, No and N/A. If QuestionNumber from 3 to 6 the answer was Yes or No then lock the Answer field in Question 7. Any idea how to do it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a form (Main) with a subform (MainSub) set as a datasheet.
The main form holds details of employees and the subform holds targets and dates for the employees.
the subform has 4 fields, Target, StartDate, EndDate, AchieveDate.
What i would like to do, is show the date of the target that was achieved last on the main form.
For example,
Joe Young has 3 aims, 2 of which are complete and 1 which is still ongoing.
Joe achieved his targets on 31/11/04 and 31/12/04.
On the main form I would like to show a control called 'LastTargetAchieved' as 31/12/04.
If I am not making myself clear I will see if I can get a sample uploaded, otherwise, thanks for any help.
