General :: Dial Button Not Working In Standalone Database
May 23, 2014
I have an Access 2007 database which has a form on which is a button to dial the currently selected phone number. All works fine. My intention is to send out partial databases to people not having access installed and they will use the access runtime module.
When the same database is run using the runtime it does not dial and does not give an error message. It just stays the same as though I didn't press the dial button.
i have a form with two cascading combo's that work when the form is opened as a single form however when i place the form on Page 3 of a TabCtl it fails to cascade the correct values.
frmSiteDetails > TabCtl33 > Page3 > frm ConditionDetails subform with Combo's 1 & 2 Combo 1 = [ElementGroupName] SELECT ElementGroupID, ElementGroupName FROM tblElementGroup; has Column Count of 2 and Bound Column 2 Combo 2 = [Element] qrySubElements has SQL:
Is there a way to connect access database with a softphone? I have an IP PBX and a soft phone and i need to click on a form and auto dial the contact. My DB contains all the data I need and also PBX.
PBX running asterisk software.
Do i need a module or something like TAPI that call windows dialer (but win dialer use a modem and not Ip phone I guess)..Or something that just wake up voip softphone and paste data?
Can Access be used as a stand alone database? In other words, can I build a complete application and have it installed on another computer wheather that person has access installed or not?
I have seen some database programs that sure look like Access but they install and run as a program in itself. Hopefully I am making sense.
I want to develop a program for the school system but want to be able to do it as a complete application in itself, not dependent on if the user has Access or not. Thank you.
Is there anyway to make the front end of my database standalone? For example, I would like to people to run it who don't have Access installed, what ways are there around this?
I have created an accdb file and saved as an accde file. The accde file opens with a form with command buttons. But the commands buttons do not work with the accde file (they do work with the accdb file). How do I get them working.
I have a sharepoint database accdw which works well as I can update something and sync it to the server, and another user with the same database can receive the changes just by syncing.
However, I want to share a version of this database with a different start up form, some restricted forms etc. If I make a copy of the accdb it creates and make changes to that, it still synchronises those changes and they affect my own version.
What is the correct way to create a different database version from my accdw?
All I want to do is take the accdb it creates, change the startup form and give it to somebody to use.
I have an asked and i want to give the answer , when we create a database application it is possible the database working with voice ? for example when i tell the databse login form username is Admin and password is 12345 the database was opened ? if it is possible, how to do it because before i see it but i don't no how to do it .
For example like this code
Dim message, sapi message=InputBox("What do you want me to say?","Speak to Me") Set sapi=CreateObject("sapi.spvoice") sapi.Speak message
I am Using Access 2010 Version. I have created a Database which consists of Linked Tables (from remote Server), Queries and a Form.
I am using Form to search the required Data. Every thing is working in My PC. But, when the Database file is trying to open from my colleague PC. It is not working. I mean, The Form is opening but when I click the Button nothing is happening. My Colleague is using 2007 Version of MS Access.
I have built an Access 2010 split database on my computer and it functions as built. My next step was to copy it to the server at work and test it. I discovered the tables had to be re-linked and so did that. As I have read in the Access World Forums in order to function as a multi-user database a copy of the front end must be placed on the individual workstation with the back end residing on the server, however the hyperlinks in the back end will not function when the copy on the workstation is run. I simply get an unable to open "filename" error pop-up. I can run the server copy and everything functions as built. I know that the hyperlinks require all the files to be in the same folder (relative vs. absolute), but if the back end contains all the hyperlinks why does the location of the front end seem to affect the operation of the back end?
I am writing an application for my personal use. I have 2 Access databases, one contains the data tables and the other has the forms, queries, reports, etc.
So far, I have been able to use the queries in the Row Source property of my form objects to accomplish what I want to do. Now I want to have a button that appends records to a table, the data in the table comes from several different controls on my form. After doing this the button should requery another control to display the new records added.
The OnClick event for the button allows me to use a Macro builder, Expression builder or Code builder. If I choose to use DAO in VBA code to append the records, do I have to define the database to create a database object to use even though the database is already open? Can I use a Macro to do this? Can a macro reference the data that is in the controls on my form?
i want to ask is there any way to open another access database using when click button at form.. for example i have tracking.accb then at my switchboard form, i would like to have a button that can go to another access which is borrow.accb. can these possible for me to do it..?
Everytime i want to make some changes to my "Testing" Database , always got somebody using it / opening it...
I am trying to create a button , the function of the button is close "Testing" access database who using it or opening it , Example : 5 users included me in a company , when I click a button , 4 of them will received a notification with close "Testing" database message , can do that ?
frmPayments (Bound to tblPayments) - Main Form for payment entry. frmInvoice Sub (Bound to tblInvoice) - Sub form to display not paid invoices.
What i need is a Command button , lets named it "Commit", to perform a few tasks :
1. When click, prompt message asking whether to Save current payment record when all relevant input is completed during data entry.
2. If Answer is "Yes", then it will compare the "Invoice No" on the Main Form with the "Invoice No" of the Sub
Form , and if found to match, then put a tick in the "Yes/No" field of Invoice Table (tblInvoice) against the matching "Invoice No" of Main Form. This is to record payments made to this particular Invoice in Invoice Table.
3. Proceed to save current record, Refresh Main Form to be ready for a new data entry.
4.If Answer is "No", discard all current entries in the Main Form, Refresh to be ready for a new data entry.
I have an Access 2010 database with two tables and two forms. The tables are Organizations and People. Similarly, the forms are Organizations Entry Form and PeopleEntryForm. The People are linked to the Organizations table. Several people can be linked to the same organization. On my Organizations EntryForm, I created a command button to duplicate a record using the wizard. It works fine.
I did exactly the same thing on the PeopleEntryForm, but instead of copying the record, it creates a new blank record. I don't get any error messages. Is my problem due to the fact that the People table is linked to the Organizations table?
Is there any way to take make access convert numbers into DTMF tones so as to quickly call a number being viewed on a form? I am currently using external software... Have a command button that copies the number onto the clipboard and then opens the "dial" software using shell. I then have to click on the "paste" button followed by "play DTMF" within the "dial" software. 3 clicks... I want it to be just one! Is there a way to get access to emit the tones directly? Please help, this could be usefull for so many people!!!

I was trying to incorporate the changes suggested by a member of this forum into my Form. I opened the Form in Design View. I clicked the Command Button and placed the mouse at the insertion point. The command button also appeared. Thereafter, nothing happened. Earlier, whenever I placed a command button, it asked for action to be performed in relation to that command button. But now nothing happens and I don't know what to do. Please tell me how I can bring back the feature. Thanks.
I just created my very first db... I used the wizzard to create it most of it, including command buttons that permit you to move from the one form to another form/report. I saved the db to a shared drive (two people total accessing/updating it) only to find that the command buttons don't work for her. I created the db in 2003, but she has 2007. If I upgrade to 2007 and convert the db, could this solve the problem? THANKS!!

I have a cancel button on an add new record form and its not working for some reason. When I press cancel it prompts if I really want to cancel and when I press yes it cancels the record creation BUT it adds a number to the recordID autonumber as if one has been created. Is there anyway to stop this? Here is my code
Option Compare Database Private Sub Cancel_Click() On Error GoTo Err_Cancel_Click If Me.Dirty = True Then
I am currently compiling an Access DB to manage my work in progress, Payments due etc.
The DB is starting to work well and have requests from fellow contractors to purchase a copy (there are over 400 subcontractors in the group), with this in mind I have decided that when I complete the DB I will take it to a proffessional programmer and have it converted to a fully standalone programm.
My question: Is there a programm format that is preferable or would C# be the best option or is there a product out there that I could purchase and use.
