I have an access icon (*.ico) file associated with my DB. But when I try to access the database from a place other than my desktop where the icon is located the icon doesn't show up. Is there any way to embed the icon into the application so that when the database is loaded on a different machine the icon loads too..
Is it possible to make a path or a shape in access? I'd like to do some graphical representation of some data and change colors of the shapes based on given values that would correlate to the shapes.
I'm using Access 2010's DoCmd.OutputTo in VBA to export reports to PDF. The "look and feel" of the PDFs are very important, as they will be distributed to clients of my company. I'm using special corporate fonts that are legally licensed for embedding as a subset. Two are .ttf (TrueType) and two are .otf (OpenType) fonts. The ttf fonts embed fine; the otf fonts do not, and the PDF viewer substitutes something it thinks is close (but really isn't). In the properties of the fonts in Windows Control Panel, the embedding properties are exactly the same for both.
Any way to force the fonts to embed? or any other workaround? Also, is there any way to edit-protect PDFs with VBA code? Or apply any other type of PDF security such as requiring a password to open?
I have a database in which i have a table imagemaster including fields as id,name, image(attachment)
Now I have a form on which image name is there on label
I have an imagecontrol on the form with no picture at start
I use dlookup function on formload event which pull image from the imagemaster table.
When my form is loaded it show ( can't open the file 1.png ) which is exactly the file from the table that i want to open. It means it goes right there to the source but cannot open that or embed that into my image control.
I have a database that runs a fews tasks for me me when no one is in the office as the systems are quicker and the admin work tedeous and boring, yet necessay. The problem Im having is in calling a database. The problem stems, i think, from the names on the folder. Unfortunately renaming isnt an option because its got many hundreds of users on the server and I dont have the admin rights besides.
The error message I get says that u: eam.mdb isnt valid .... when its not. The error is caused presumably by the " - 's " and probable after it passes this the " Res. Sales" will cause an error too. So my question Im asking is, is there anyway to make the path read in full, I've tried preceeding with < and ending with > and "" or even ' but still no joy. Can anyone please help, its getting annoying now. :o
In an attempt to keep the aged and wise users of the DB from overlooking the "display as Icon" cbo when embedding PDF's, and thus finding them unaware of attached documents, I'm searching for a way to select this by default to eliminate the problem altogether.(leban's didn't seem to say anything helpful on the matter)
I am wondering if it is possible to embed all of the photos that I have into my photo table automatically. I have the table set up with all of the data that needs to be there but I have over 1500 photos that need to be embedded and wanted to save myself some time and automate the process somehow. I already know that embedding these photos is going to make my database huge but that isn't an issue for this particular project.
As far as I can tell from this forum, the help and the Northwind database this isn't possible without manually going through every photo but I am pretty new to Access so thought I would throw the question out there.
What I want to do is something similar to using a subform, but I want to use a subreport as part of a region of a form (linked by the master/child fields).
The reason for this is because it is impossible to draw lines on a form. I MUST be able to do so (I've been through all the API stuff and after 3 hours, I realize it's just not an option). I can easily get a report to look the way I want it, and I want to display the section that has lines in the report.
Yes, I realize that it's read-only; there will be another interface for getting the data in. I just want to display it graphically with connecting lines.
Is there anyway to change the icon on a microsoft access database. I mean the actual File Icon, eg. the icon of Database1.mdb etc. I do not mean the icon once the database has loaded. Thanks for your help.
I'm trying to change the table links to a password protected BE DB. I found an example online, which I adapted to my needs. When I set it up to fail to find the normal BE it seems to work as intended until it gets to the line "Tdf.RefreshLink". Then it crashes with a 3031 "Not a valid password" error. The code is:
Code: Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer) Dim Dbs As Database Dim Tdf As TableDef Dim Tdfs As TableDefs Dim NewPathname As String
[Code] ....
I can't find any references or example to relinking a password protected table.
My company wants to store both a digital copy and a hard paper copy of the files in the access database. Because of this I need to figure out a way to show in the reports the paths to the attached files so that people reading the paper versions can locate the corresponding files on the computer in the future. I have been searching the internet for several hours and have come up with nothing. Is there a way to do this?
I am setting up a form to send multiple attachments to an email.I have a query "qry_DwgEmail" that has an ID and a path column. On the form I have a button with the code below in the Click Event. The code below all works fine unless the path is incorrect, so I would like some error handling to be able to either:
1) Stop the code from running and display a message box with my message. 2) Continue the loop and then have the message box display what files could not be found (Preferred).
Note, the following code was taken from one of the forums I am not 100% on what it all means.
Code: Private Sub btn_CreateEmail_Click() Dim MyDB As Database Dim MyRS As Recordset Dim objOutlook As Outlook.Application Dim objOutlookMsg As Outlook.MailItem Dim objOutlookAttach As Outlook.Attachment Dim TheAttachment As String
From advice I have read on here I have worked out how to create a button on a form which opens a report to show the values which match the record open on the form. It then attaches that page as a txt file to an email. Which is great.
What I would like it to do though is insert into the body text of the email the text from the report. Have looked as much as I can at the properties of DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport but cannot achieve this myself.
What I have is pretty much this: Code:DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport, "Your matching details this week", acFormatTXT, Me!PersonEmail, , , "Details this week " & Date, "Please see the attached text file for details this week which match your selection criteria.", False
How can I make the text appear within the email body?
I'm running Access 2000 and want to use some different icons than available through Access on some command buttons. So far, I can only get it to accept bitmaps. This isn't a problem if bitmaps can have a transparency. I don't think they can though. Any suggestions?
Hi everyone, does anyone know how to remove the little replication icons next to the db objects when a replica is converted back to a design master. I know there is a way cos i've seen it here before but I can't find it searching. Thanks.
I would like to use icons and interactive buttons for my forms to give them a more professional look. does anyone know where i can get such icons? i'm quite an illiterate fool when it comes to making the icons using icon editors. i tried searching on the web but it always throws up stuff relating to windows xp. i use office 2003. can i use them? if not can anyone tell me where i can find such icons? :(
i am having no end of trouble trying to display just the print preview buttons and print button at all times during my Database being open.
i have tried adding various options through the startup option but i find that when i activate things so that i can print via an icon i also get the option available to go to the database window, which i want to prevent.
well the highlighted stuff are the things i have to put into an Access database...so ive just setup a table but how do I add boxes so they can tick whatever option? And what do I need to do to make it save. Also would it be better using forms because i wouldnt mind using a background image as well.. thanks alot.
I'm currently looking to change the ending of all filepaths of imported files whenever I run the import. I want to change the path ending from .txt to .doc. So basically, the link/path to the file should be got, the ending changed from .txt to .doc and then the path (with the .doc ending) put into the table.
Code: Private Sub bimportinternal_Click() On Error Resume Next strFolderPath = "S:Foo reportsSearchable" strFolderPathSave = "S:Foo reportsSearchableArchiveword" & objF1.Name Set objFS = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set objFolder = objFS.GetFolder(strFolderPath) Set objFiles = objFolder.files
I have a form that I call the AdminForm. It allows the user to store administrative information about the business; business name, address, telephone number, etc. I also have as a part of the table that stores this information an Attachment Field where an image of their logo is stored in a field called, [Logo]. No problem here. The issue is that I want to use the [Logo] field elsewhere like in reports.
I've added an Attachment type control to the report and I've used DLookUp to use the image stored in the admin table, but it doesn't display on the report. There isn't any relationship between the admin table and any report so I can't join them unless I do something "unnatural" by adding a fictitious field to every record to tie it back to the key field in the admin table, (there is never more than one record in the admin table; I ensure that). That doesn't seem like the right way to accomplish this.
I would like to create some custom icons and use them in Access. Does anybody have an experience doing this that can start me down the right path? Thanks:)
I searched without success for a solution to show small pictures (icons) in a table field to show up in a continous form.
Purpose is: a communication log table has comm codes such as - mail out - mail in - tel call in - tel call out
the comm log table has the fields CustomerID, datetime, CommCode
The CommCode table hast the fields CommID, CommCode, Icon
The form (subfrm) should show in continous form mode to each customer..Datetime, (commCode), and to visualize the Commcode the small image (icon) presented by an envelope with an arrow right, an envelope with an arrow left, etc.
I cannot find a solution for storing those little images and retrieving them from an OLE-Field.All my other pictures I do not have stored in the tables, but only the image path, but for that I would prefer to store them directly into a table field as they do not blow up the database.
