View 6 Replies View RelatedI do not have a split db. I am prompted to enter my password when the db opens which is fine. However, when I close the db it prompts me to enter a password (not normal) and when I enter it it says invalid password. Also, when I try to change my password it says invalid password and when I try to compact and repair my db it say invalid password.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used the Contacts Database Template to import a comma delimited txt file of contacts data. The template included a number of tables, queries, forms & reports which I did not require. I deleted them leaving only a Table entitled 'Addressbk'. I added an Entry Form using the standard access tools and this works fine with the table. However, on running the access database I get the following error message; 'The form named "Main" is mis-spelled or refers to a form that doesn't exist. My only form is labelled 'Entry Form', so it would appear that one of the forms I deleted must have been named 'Main'. If one ignores the error message the database & entry form function perfectly.

I cannot sort below query in descending order by absolute value. If I do not use sort, all works fine but as soon as I try to sort by absolute value I get message to 'Enter Parameter Value'. I tried to replace Abs([Variance (W2 - W1)]) with filed name AbsoluteValue and still the same result ;(
Code:
SELECT [Query Union].[Stock Code] AS SKU, [Query Union].[Pallet No] AS [Pallet No], [Query Union].[Batch No#] AS Batch, IIf(IsNull([qW1 SOH].[Physical stock]),0,CDbl([qW1 SOH].[Physical stock])) AS [W1 Qty], IIf(IsNull([W2 SOH].[Good Stock]),0,CDbl([W2 SOH].[Good Stock])) AS [W2 Qty], [W2 Qty]-[W1 Qty] AS [Variance (W2 - W1)], Abs([Variance (W2 - W1)]) AS AbsoluteValue

why I get a pop up asking for parameter value of fields I no longer have in my table? It says this when I open my form. I deleted the fields from my form but it's still asking for it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having some problem with the Microsoft Access. I want to preview the report but it always show the popup asking me to enter the parameter value after I clicked the button. For your information, this problem doesn't occur in the subform. But when I try to test it with my main page, the problem is occur. Need to remove the popup.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a list (table) that I've created in sharepoint 2010.I link to the sharepoint table with Access 2010 to update mass amounts of items at once. Some of the queries have no problem updating the sharepoint items, but other queries require me to "Enter Paramater Value."
In this particular queries; I'm trying to populate field A with dates from field B, when field A is null.
---------------------
UPDATE Table 1 SET Table.[FieldA] = [FieldB]
WHERE (((Table 1.[FieldA]) Is Null));
--------------------
When I run the above, I receive the "Enter Parameter Value" input box.All records have Field B populated (it's actually the created date.)
The goal is for field A to be populated with the values in Field B, without the query asking for parameters.
Note; I can go in each individual record and update them via access, one at a time. But it's the running of the update query that failing.
Edit: Removed spaces in table and field names.
I have a MS Access 2010 application when the User opens form CONTACTS Form
◦User finds single record to be used CONTACTID is identifier to be used for selection
◦User clicks button to open form frm_MAIL_MERGE
◦Frm_MAIL_MERGE has a drop down combo box that reads the folder location where the application resides and displays all .DOTM files (that is all template files) and one more combo box which contains the CONTACTID.
◦User selects single .dotm file for merge
◦Frm_MAIL_MERGE has either drop down to select CONTACTID or UNBOUND data field for user to type in CONTACTID number
◦User enters CONTACTID to be used for the mail merge
◦User selects SUBMIT
◦Application merges selected .dotm file with the information in table CONTACTS for the selected CONTACTID
◦Merged document is saved on the user Desktop as xxx.docx
Is it possible to have a value in an excel 2010 cell be used to update an access 2010 db?
For example, if in a spreadsheet "test" cell A2=3 then in a db "test" a column "value" is 3. However, if the value in the spreadsheet changes so does the db.
I wish to work in Access 2010 with a subset of my Outlook 2010 contacts (all desktop- no network barriers), so I am exploring the Desktop Contacts DB found in Microsoft's templates. It passes contact data back and forth using the standard macros, but I wish to add more fields from Outlook. It seems I need to find the code associated with the macro. I believe I can solve the problem using a Linked table, but am wondering if there is another solution?
Calendar synchronization is another issue. Linking gets me to the Archive Calendars, but not the Current one in Outlook which is what I want.
I have Access database I want to change enter parameter value to option when I want to view a report.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn a pop up form I have a list box. The row source for the list box is
Code:
SELECT tblWebOrder.WebOrderId AS [Web Order No], tblWebOrder.CustomerWebOrderNumber, Format([WebOrderDate],"dd/mm/yyyy") AS [Order Date], tblCustomer.CustomerName AS [Customer Name], tblArea.Area FROM (tblCustomer LEFT JOIN tblArea ON tblCustomer.[PhysicalAreaId] = tblArea.[AreaId]) INNER JOIN tblWebOrder ON tblCustomer.CustomerID = tblWebOrder.CustomerId WHERE (((tblWebOrder.Processed) Like [Forms]![frmSelectWebOrderToOpen]![txtOrderStatus]) AND ((tblWebOrder.WebOrderDate) Between [Forms]![frmSelectWebOrderToOpen]![dteStartDate] And [Forms]![frmSelectWebOrderToOpen]![dteEndDate]+1)) ORDER BY tblWebOrder.WebOrderId DESC;
I have the following "On Click"event on the list box
Code:
Private Sub lstWebOrder_Click()
lngWebOrderId = Me.lstWebOrder.Column(0)
DoCmd.Echo False
DoCmd.Close
DoCmd.Echo True
End Sub
When I click on some of the records on the list box the form closes. On some of the records I get a parameter prompt to enter:
Forms!frmSelectWebOrderToOpen!txtOrderStatus
Forms!frmSelectWebOrderToOpen!dteStartDate
Forms!frmSelectWebOrderToOpen!dteEndDate
I inserted the echo commands to prevent this, but this has not worked!
Why am I getting the prompts? How do I prevent them?
I've been using the following code successfully in Access 2003 & now I need to migrate to Access 2010. The purpose of the code is to use the items that the user selects in the list box to build the criteria of a query. Access 2010 keeps giving me a syntax error when I try to run the query & I don't know why:
My code is:
On Error GoTo Err_Command151_Click
' Declare variables
Dim db As DAO.Database
Dim qdf As DAO.QueryDef
Dim varItem As Variant
Dim strCriteria As String
Dim strSQL As String
[Code] .....
The syntax error I get in Access 2010 is:
Syntax Error in query expression 'SELECT * FROM
qryContractListSummarybyDateContract3TYPEBREAK WHERE
qryContractListSummarybyDateContract3TYPEBREAK.Rep ortableName IN('Adbri
Masonry NSW');'
I'm working with an old database and I am getting this error. I have have access 2010. I starting to receive this error after I unlinked one of the tables.
Private Sub Command9_Click()
On Error GoTo Err_Command9_Click
Dim stDocName As String
Dim stLinkCriteria As String
[Code] ....
We are currently using Access 2007 and I've got a database that sends emails out to multiple users depending on the data that was entered. We are about to upgrade to Access 2010 and I am testing it now. I was originally getting runtime error '287' when I was adding addresses to a Recipient object. I got past that by adding the addresses in a string and concatenating. Now I'm getting the error with .Send.

I'm using Access 2010 and I want to export a query to Excel by clicking a button. Every time I click on it Excel opens but doesn't open my worksheet, it's just gray like you just open the program without a table. After opening my Excel file it says that Excel found unreadable content and asks if I want to restore the content of the workbook.

where my problem is?
is there a way to have both Access 2010 and 2003 exist peacefully on the same desktop. My company uses Office 2010, but my department has an Access 2003 application. As a result, I have to have A2003 on my desktop and use it quite frequently for this one application.
I have some small databases that I really want to move onto A2010 so we can take advantage of SharePoint functions, etc. Is there anytning I can do to be sure that the .mdb and .mde open in A2003 and the new .accdb opens in A2010, without getting errors and the Windows installer going through the Office installation process for the respective version? I've gone to the file locations and set the "Open with" setting to the respective version.
I am using Access 2010. I Have the 'Display Status Bar' box ticked in Application Options but the Status Bar is not being displayed.

I have a button who close Access when the user are finish on the mainform. Still I have the upper right corner X-button who also closing the app.
My problem is that when the user use the X-button then a dialog box appear and ask for saving the changes for the table in the subform on the main form. The user must then do the choise 'yes' , 'no' , 'Cancel'.
There is no need for this dialog box, (I take care if it's necessary earlier) but I can't get rid of it.
