I've composed a table in Access 2010 that I want to use as an annex to a printed document. However, each time I try to print out a hard copy it includes the table title and the date of printing. How do I stop this?
View RepliesI've been using a series of 5 tables to export an XML file using Access's native XML export. In order to keep the XML intact, there are relationships setup to link each sets of elements together via an ID number(link) field in each table.
Access does a great job at exporting, but then we need to rely on another program to delete these link fields that links the tables together so our XML validates. Additionally, we use this program to reorganize some of the XML, as one of our tables puts itself at the end of the XML element and not in the middle where it should be. This is not a problem when I'm dealing with a few hundred records, as the 3rd part program does the trick. The problem is when I have enough data to generate a 30+MB file that my other program chokes on when trying to manipulate the XML.
So my question is...how can I export these 5 tables to XML while omitting the linking member fields and organizing it how it should be? I have examples of code below. How Access Exports it

take a look at the 2 databases and the queries qryOSHAbyJob in the one database and qryOSHAJob in the other database?
One will return the data I want and the other one only returns the last record entered.
I will attach the db's. I am working in A2007.
I use this to record piece counts and weight of items of freight that I pick up in Boston ( all seafood by the way) Anyhow here is the problem I'm having. Anytime I create a report one of my field names (RECIVER) keeps displaying as a unique number. Example, "New Enland Fish Market" display's as "14" which is its auto number assigned to it when I created the Table of recievers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLet's say I have a list of customers. For each customer I have much more info on other lists (order list, personal info list, bank info list, and so on) - all are of course connected properly.
Now let's say a certain customer is no longer my customer, so I want to remove him from the customer-list. But, I want to move him to a different list - past-customers - so all the information that was related to that customer will remain so. In short, I want to remove from the customer-list without affecting the related data.
I have done this before and can't remember how I did it and I can't fogure out how to do it. I have a form with textboxes that are for displaying info to the users. I want to lock them so that users can not click on them or high light the fields. So basically the user can only click on fields I want them to.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a form where I can add a new resident. It runs off a query that shows ID as null and has a button to add the data and refresh the form and query. I used to drop in OLE files but have since changed it to a linked image file. What I want to do is pull the info from the data that I input as a new resident.
Basically it means that any staff member can take a photo of the resident and put it in a folder and the database will point to that file.
The location is..."C:UsersRP"&[First Name]&" "&[Last Name]&".jpeg" First Name and Last Name are in the table already. I have tried using an append and an update query to no avail.
By the way, my FO line manager wants an IT report, i am wandering if there is any possibility to search and export users. The report should show in the status column who are disabled, who are enabled, date created and date expired in date column in active directory windows server 2003 environment?

I store Quote data from phone calls into tblQuotes. There is a seperate table that holds much of the same information except that it is for actual orders called tblOrders.
As far as function goes, I have each working much the way I need it to except for one thing... If a sales person is on the phone with a customer with a quote already in the system, right now they re-enter the data into the Order table. Most times, the order is what was quoted, but maybe with a few small changes (so I will wnt to keep a historical record of the quote). How could I copy the contents of the quote recordset into the recordset for an order, where all the sales rep does from there is edit the quote to the actual order?
Would I use VBA or an update query that is executed via VAB? Honestly, I am unsure how to do this at all, I hope someone has seen this before and has a good suggestion...

Does a (the) .ldb file have to be closed for another user on a network (separate FE linked to network drive BE) to read/write info to a table? Or even select info from a table?

1. Run a macro with the same value that is in the combobox
Or
2. Run a set of reports and print them off but are linked to the combobox value.
The combobox name is ODTyper
The combobox control source is ODType which is a field in TblType
The combobox row source is SELECT [TblType].Model FROM TblType;
The value inside the combobox are in the format of TE4700
The name of the macros are in the format of TE4700
The Main form is called FrmOrderDatabase.
Plus somehow i need to get the value of the combobox and link it to print off the correct reports.
Is there a way to get information in the print dialog box (File -> Print)? Like when i click ok or cancel? Or any other way that i will be able to know that the report is sent to printer or being printed.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I have the Home and Create default ribbons showing... then when I choose to Preview a report the Print Preview Ribbon is displayed and the Home and Create Ribbons are hidden or not visible.I have created a CustomRibbon and this CustomRibbon is not hidden when I choose to preview a report. The Print Preview ribbon is shown but the CustomRibbon keeps the focus and is not hidden.I would like for the CustomRibbon to not be visible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just finished putting together an access database as a payroll. It is working fine and it will now save the company a lot of man hours in calculations.
When the employee clocks in or out there is a form and the employee has to key in a unique employee number and a password, which of necessity is hidden from view. Of course the password can be divulged from one employee to another.
Consequently, eventually I will need to incorporate a finger print reader and use the information from this instead of the password.

I have been asked by our admin person if I can make it possible to be able to print labels from it. I know it is possible via the wizard but very limited.
What we really need is to be able to select the people from the table that we want labels for.
I have added a true/false check box to the table called 'label?'
I wish to produce a delivery note which needs to print an empty box for manually ticking.
I need a box for each item quantity i.e 5 items on the job print 5 boxes. 20 items print 20 boxes.
I have been able to use very crude code if there is only a few items, using if qty =1 then / 1/ else if qty = 2 then / 1/ / 2 / etc etc ...
That works and prints the / 1 / 2 / which is ok but there must be a simpler way as it the job has more that it would be much better and far more useful for other reports to print a box or item.
How do I print the complete code of a project? If I select all the code with CTRL+A in the code window does it print all the objects of the project I'm in or I have to select each object from the drop down list at the top of the code window?

And I have a table "Job List" where i select from a drop down menu the clients and it auto fills all the requirement check boxes based on what is stored in the Client Info table. However I can't get the code to work.

In attached Preview.png I can see the Dates. When I print the report (Print.png) the dates are substituted with "#Name?"
In the report the date fields are bound to
Control Source =CDate([Forms]![frmTransactionPopup]![dtmFrom])
where frmTransactionPopup is a form which is open but not visible.
I have report that i have in preview. In that report i have ribbon that has buttons close and print. Close works fine, with print it goes ok but when "printer selection" comes, i try to change printer it informs that not enough memory. All this code that is in ribbon buttons is in VBA.
What could be the reason for memory stuff or how could this be made that this inform wouldn't come.

I'm trying to print a barcode to be used for data input into another system.
The data contains alpha number and some special characters like space, underscore, / and &
I want the form to print the bar code
128 and 3of9 don't handle this data.
I applied conditional formatting to a subform in a form and it works fine. The screen dispaly is showing the highlights but the print privew does not. It does not matter which printer I select.

The problem I'm having is when I use the print button (access macro) on one of my forms, as soon as i click the button, the "all access objects" window opens on the left side navigation. This window shows all of my tables, forms, queires..etc.Is there a setting that will permanately stop this from opening?
