General :: Form Starting At Wrong Position Of A Page

I am a newbie to ms access and forms and I have a small problem with a form. The solution has lots of different forms with different tabs for each section. This particular tab has a few sub forms in it. When I switch into the specific tab in question, the screen moves down ever so slightly and I always have to scroll up to see all the other tab headings.Is there a way to do something by code or a property setting I can use to make the page start from the top without users having to scroll up each time?
I hope I have explained myself clearly enough, if not I will be more than happy to provide more info.

how to make my form controls change size / position as my form is resized / loaded on a computer with a different resolution. Several of the tutorials out there suggest putting code on the "on resize" property of the form. When I looked at the Northwind database to try to mimic their code however, it looks like they must be doing something different as there is no on resize code under the form properties and I was unable to find the code they do use.

Im working on an access 2000 application, So far I'm able to open internet explorer page and navigate to any URL and get the sorce of the page. But what I realy want to do is browsing to page inside the form, and I need to do it with access 2000.

Can I open a tabed form to a specific page?
If I'm in the form I can move focus by using
Me.[Page 12].SetFocus
but when opening using that code produces and error Page not available?

I am creating a DB for race results and have a field which calculates the elapsed time based on the start and finished times. What I want to do now is populate a field "position" with the finishing position relative to other competitors elapsed times in the race. But I cant see how to do this.
I understand I would probab;y have to use some sort of query but not sure how to create it.

I have created a 6 search boxes with names Author, Published, Language, Title, Keywords and University. If I enter "A" in Author search field then it should return all the 6 fields which contains "A" in Author field. It worked well.
My Requirement :
The column published is the year. In search box of Published if I search for 2000 then it's returning all the 6 fields which contains "2000" in Published field.
But most of the people doesn't know the exact year in which the book is published so they need some favour like, If they search for 2000-2010 in Published field then it should return all the fields which are between 2000-2010 in the published field.
For this do I need to create 2 extra text boxes and name them as Starting year and Ending Year? or else we can achieve this in single text box as xxxx-xxxx?

Is there an automatic way of moving the cursor when an outlook email is opened using a VBA event??
Right had a look and haven't managed to google this yet but the background is as follows
I have some code that puts a recordset of people's email into outlook and leaves users with the outlook message open ready for them to append anything they want to the message body.
At the moment the cursor flashes at the very start of the message and users need to scroll down with keys or the mouse to the end before they can add additional text.
I want to automatically move the cursor to the end of the outlook email message opened using a VBA event?

i have created a login form that opens the home page when the correct credentials are entered. i would like to add an 'access level' so that when logging in the database checks the access level and opens the appropriate home page. (i.e. level one has selected options.. level three has admin)
i just need a code that checks what the users level is and then open home lvl#
(i.e. user level 1 - open 'home lvl1', user level 2 - open 'home lvl2 etc)...

I have a table period with three columns
ID, Period_Start_Year, Period_End_Year
I could have many periods in a future. What i want is to allow users to insert just first start year and lenght of period and table will be automatically updated based on these two values.
So user will insert Period_Start_Year and Length of Period, for example 2010 and 2 and table should be>
ID Period_Start_Year Period_End_Year
1 2010 2011
2 2012 2013
3 2014 2015
While i am writing this i realised that user have to specify also ending year, i do not want to have infinity.. I am thinking about form and update query but can't get it...

I am working a database that manages student's Records including marks for various subjects, but i would like to do the following on each of the students' report cards:
a) Display the marks for all the 12 subjects .This one i have done.
b) Display a total for all marks of each student.Done as well.
c) The problem is, i don't know how to display the position of each student on the individual report cards.I want to base this grading on the total marks obtained by each student in the same class.

I am currently developing a database to provide a friend with an auction tracking and ordering system.
I will have a number of questions the first is related to the Home Page/Dashboard/Summary form I am creating. I basically have a few sections, one of which is a combo box offering the user to select an auction to view in the summary section. This summary section contains the list of lots but I also hope to to expand on this and create multiple text boxes, each containing the answer to a number of queries (totals etc).
I have written all the queries and can see the results however as the form does not have a record source I would like to know how to make each text box populate with the result of different queries (ideally in vb - I am using ms access 2010)?
I have tried a few things, control source doesn't apply as I have no record source (i guess). I investigated Dlookup/Dcount but am unsure if these apply for the same reason. I understand I am likely to need a recordset etc in vb and have already tried a few things but unfortunately none of them work.

I have one-page forms which print a second page, blank except for a block of grey shading at the top. I have tried moving the content of the form up but that doesn't eliminate the second page. If I look at print preview, every second page of the entire database shows up as blank, regardless of where that happens to appear in the record.

to automatically create a second, third, fourth... page depending on how many characters are in the narrative. The only other thing needed to be changed is the page# of Page#.
So right now my form looks like below

Hi All
I have added the Allen Browne Calendar 2k control to my form.
My form consists of 4 pages. On pages 2 and 3 I have subforms and on page 4 I have Personal data. Page 1 is general data and the Calendar is on Page 1.
What is happening is that the Calendar is also being displayed on my 4th page, in the same position as page 1. When I try to move it, cover it or delete it from page 4, it is also gone from page 1.
Any suggestions please?

I have a Logo which is actually startup form. I need a code to position this statrup form on near to bottom right corner of access window in all resolution. How ever at present I am using code :

OK so my situation is a simple 1 to many relationship where the main form has the primary key and the secondary input form needs the foreign key to be passed to it to link the 2 tables.
Say for example 1 Site has many sections (Plants). The main menu form can therefore select the Site and filter to another combo box containing the plants that are attached to that site. The user can then either edit the plant or add a new plant record linked to the site.
I have figured out how to edit the plant attached to the site using a macro that opens the form Plants with the site ID passed from the main form however when I want to enter a new Plant I still need the site ID passed to the Plants form however using the following code
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmPlants", acNormal, , , acFormAdd
It simply opens the form as a new record and therefore will not transfer the SiteID
No doubt this is not the hardest thing to do I just can't work out how to do it
I have seen somewhere using code similar to this
stLinkCriteria = "[SiteID]=" & Me![SiteID]
DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria
But I can't seem to get it to work.

I use this to record piece counts and weight of items of freight that I pick up in Boston ( all seafood by the way) Anyhow here is the problem I'm having. Anytime I create a report one of my field names (RECIVER) keeps displaying as a unique number. Example, "New Enland Fish Market" display's as "14" which is its auto number assigned to it when I created the Table of recievers.

I'm trying to ensure that each time a new record is opened in a form, that the cursor is positioned in the first control/field... I have this throughout most of my application but not in a few individual forms.
I know I've done something in the past to ensure that this happens, but I can't remember what it was...

I am having a problem with my form. When it opens up, it is maximized, which is what I want. However, the vertical scroll bar on the right does not begin at the top of the form, but towards the bottom. I have to scroll up each time so that I can see the top of my form. Is there a way to make the form startup at the top of the form?

in access 2003 i am not able to get the wizard to start. as per MS KB site the wizards are diaslabled due to security risk and i have to installed KB patch 829558 still unable to get the wizard to come on. anbody having same problem pleeese help

I have created some control buttons using the built in functions of Access2007 and then using the script supplied here modified the control.
So far the controls can add new record, save record, exit form, open next form and close existing form, open previous form and close existing form.
My next question is when the user reaches the end of the form fields how do I stop the form from automatically starting a new record?
For example, I use the TAB key to move from field to field and when I tab out of the last field the form goes straight to the next empty record.
I want this to be a deliberate action performed by clicking the Add New Record button and not an accident of a key press.
The other thing is, how do I get the form to open with blank/empty fields and not at the first populated record?
Some of the data is updated frequently so the records need to be able to be edited but I need to prevent accidental editing of the existing records.

have a vba code written to have my MS Access 2007 tell Outlook to send an e-mail with several attachments to whom it may concern, but I need it to change the "From" field in the e-mail, because there's many people who can send this, but it's looking like it's all being sent as my user. This is the code, it all works, but it doesn't change the sender field. Should I make some sort of auto-login macro or something?

hi i have a button that loads a report. If i then close the report the form, which is set with no border/no max/min/close/non movable and opens maximised, places itself off centre. I want it to stay maximised full screen. The only work around i currently have is when the use moves the mouse over the form it maximises itself. Will this then be calling this function everytime the mouse moves(cant be very efficient). is there a better way to maximise the form Immediately after closing the report.

I have been trying to make forms open scrolled to the top and have had very little success.
I found a function on the following site http://www.lebans.com/SelectRow.htm that works great as demonstrated and when I attach the following code to a text box the form scrolls to the top.

What I am trying to do is have the form scroll when it opens but by attaching the above code to the form's on_open event there is no effect.

I have a form in datasheet view, with the record ID column frozen and users typically scroll to the right to see certain columns. Different users scroll to a different position.
I dont have the option to reduce the number of columns or create separate forms for different users, - they all need to see all the columns but typically a user scrolls horizontally to see a certain set of columns most of the time. I want to save that position for the next time they open the form.
