I have a frame on a form with 2 toggle buttons in it - i want to be able to toggle the buttons to set criteria for a query which i can load as a report from clicking a button - is it possible to do with IFF? or is there an easier way - is it possible to have the report as a sub-report on the form and it to change when i toggle the buttons?
View RepliesJust tried out ControlTip Text on some command and toggle buttons. The text pops up on some but not on others and I cannot determine what the difference is (the properties are essentially the same except for name, caption etc). What buttons work and what do not seems random but if I copy/paste a button that works, the copy always seems to work.

Hi - I have another problem. I hope you can help me out on this one.
Right now, I have 3 toggle buttons to control the visibility of 3 subforms. However, I only want a single subform to show at any given time. So, if I were to select toggle 1 it should give me subform 1, and afterwards if I select toggle 2 it should give me subform 2 WITHOUT showing me toggle 1.
Is there anyway to get the toggle buttons to work with each other?

I have a form with about 40 Toggle buttons on it. I want the form to populate from a table. This table stores the status from rooms.
My table name is [Room]
Fields [Room] and [Room_Status]
I want to call the button BtnBS1 (Room BS1) and if the status for that room is occupied the button when loaded will be RED, and if it is available it must be green.
I want the form to be an graphical overview of what rooms are occupied and what rooms are available. By clicking on a green room I want another form to open to allow me to fill it with data.
How do I point to the table when I load the form?
I have a tab control at the bottom of my main form, and some of the tab pages contain subforms. On one of the subforms I have created a filter to divide the content into "complete" and "incomplete." I have also added a toggle button option group to the subform to toggle the filter (one button for "complete" and one for "incomplete"). I'm using a macro to apply the filter, but it isn't working. The filter does work properly if I use the "Toggle Filter" button on the Ribbon, but I want to create something a little more user friendly.
I have :
Main form: Search_by_name
Subform: Action_Items
Underlying table: tbl_Action_Items
Subform control: sfctlActionItems
Toggle button option group: tgl_Complete_Incomplete
Here's the macro as it stands right now:

I get the error message "The 'ApplyFilter' action requires a valid control name that corresponds to a subform or subreport."
If I remove the content of the Control Name field and open the subform independently (i.e. not as a subform), everything works fine.
I have VBA to send multiple reports to a group of people depending on a toggle button selection. what I'm wanting to do is have it loop through the e mail process until all 5 toggle buttons have been selected and the reports have been E Mailed. Is this possible. Toggle buttons are named toggle1, toggle2 and so on.

Is it possible to set up the option group such that only one toggle button is visible at any given time (i.e. the unselected option) So the group has a default value. Clicking the visible button should switch the value, hide the button (option) associated with that value and show the alternate button (option) for the alternate value?
Basically only having one visible button at any given time which toggles between the two values (but I'd like to retain it as an option group, rather than as two independent buttons, as that gives me a handy value from which to determine control sources elsewhere)
I've tried setting the visibility of the buttons from the AfterUpdate event of the option group but it doesn't work.
I know I can do this with independent buttons but was hoping there was a quick(er) and easy way to do it with an option group instead?
I have form with a number of of combo boxes that filter a query that populates a list box. It's used to track inventory. I want to add a toggle button that when press will filter my query so that it shows only items with a value > 0 in the quantity field. And when not pressed it won't filter by that field at all.

Specifically they are date criteria. I want to be able to toggle between evaluating on a start basis verse a ship basis.
If the toggle is set to 'Start Date', the query would use the start date as its criteria. If the toggle is set to 'Ship Date" it would use the ship date.
The other complication is that within the query, "Start Date" and "Ship Date" are two separate fields always contained in the query, so how do I write the query so that it only applies criteria to the appropriate field based on the toggle setting?

I have got a DB being used in the office, its a big one so obviously it has quite a large number of tables and forms, alotta the forms are either split forms or have related tables inside them (and in a few cases both)
Everything working fine but people in the office are getting confused, as there are many fields in some of these tables I've set default values to make things easier for everyone, however when people look at the info on the DB they sometimes see a new record, with some fields seemingly filled in (default values) and hence assume its a record that exists which caused confusion
I've attempted to explain that a star on the left hand side indicates a new record which doesnt exist, however this just adds to their confusion..... (seriously makes me wanna facepalm), anyways im thinking it might be simpler if there were a way to toggle on or off the new records row (or hide/unhide it)
of cuorse i know this may cause problems, as if im successful some people will go "hey what happened to the star in it?" or simply ignore the last row outta habit, however i figure ill cross that bridge when i come to it.....
I have form using a toggle option with four buttons. The values are 1,2,3 & 4. How can I convert the values to read (in the table) as words instead of values.

The forms are fed by the TaskQ query.I have sort and filter on all fields except date field which i would like to have 3 buttons which will dynamically update the criteria in the TaskQ DueDate field. Is that possible or the way to do it??
The buttons would include 'Due today' 'Overdue' 'Next 7 days' and they update the criteria in the TaskQ query and hence filter with the following;

I have a query that has 2 fields of currency labour rates (current rate and baseline rate), but sometimes there are some blanks in either of the fields and is causing my text field which has a Sum formula (Rates x Hours) to #ERROR and throws out my other calcs. The only way to find out which blank line items are throwing my query numbers out is to manually type in "Is Null" in the criteria.
However, I would like to keep this process fully automated so I tried to create 2 lots of option buttons for my form, one for each of the 2 fields of currency labour rates and after I click on either option button and then run my query it will show all the lines that have blanks. I was able to link 2 text boxes to the option buttons (Select Case - Case 1 - Me.txtBox1.Value = "Is Null") and then link the text boxes to the criteria field using [Forms]![frm_labour]![txtBox1]. However, none of this seems to be driving my criteria in my query.
I'm working with a form in Access 2013 that uses the navigation buttons. I'm trying to have my criteria for a query link to a dropdown box on the form. I had no problems doing this in Access 2010 with normal forms, but I can't link the criteria, in the query to the Navigation buttons form box. I'm tried using
[Forms]![TheNavigationTab]![NavigationSubform].[Form]![Field]
And various forms of the above... but i still can't see to tell the query to find the critiera at this location...
Well, I apologise now, because this will probably be badly explained, but anyway, I was wondering if there is a way to create a button in a form, which would act like a frame (or inner.HTML, etc). So for example ::
Button 1 | Button 2 | Button 3
And when you click "Button 1", it comes up with a certain section, and makes the others disappear, which could for example be a section of text, and a button to open another form, etc.
You get me? Sorry if you don't. I've always been quite bad at explaining this kind of stuff. If you don't, I'll gladly explain myself again.

I need to add extra buttons to the code I already have for my ribbon. Do I need to change more than the code in UsysRibbonsor do I have to make changes to BasRibbonCallbacks also? I am in the process of trying to build a template in forms for my boss to quickly enter information and construct a PowerPoint presentation from this information.
Basically, I have a form that he can enter information, but it needs to look professional (not datasheet view). Is there a way that I can make a subform and frame it, so that I can copy the entire form (not just the data) and paste it onto powerpoint? I need the formatting to be consistent and appealing!
I've created a frame but I'm not able to actually to put textboxes inside it, only radio buttons. Is there anyway to force textboxes inside the Frame? Thanks in advanced.
