Is there a way to get information in the print dialog box (File -> Print)? Like when i click ok or cancel? Or any other way that i will be able to know that the report is sent to printer or being printed.
I used the code below to hide all the toolbars and then created my custom ReportToolbar so the user can print the report. All works OK; however, the PRINT button on my custom toolbar sends the report imidiately to the printer. How can I create a button that I could add to my custom toolbox which would open the dialog box that allows to choose the printer, number of pages to print, etc.. (same action as I can get by going to File->Print)?
PS> Also, is there any way to remove the drop down arrow from my custom toolbox? I disabled Customize Toolbox but the pulldown arrow still appears. I found making an MDE would take care of this, but was wondering if there was another solution.
Code used to hide toolbars:For i = 1 To CommandBars.Count CommandBars(i).Enabled = False Next i
Users of the db I am working on print using a regular network printer 95% of the time. 5% of the time however, they need to change that printer to another one, or to a PDF printing program. All of the printers they need are installed in their Printers folder.I can think of two possible courses of action here:
1. load the printer dialog box (preferred)
2. provide them with a custom interface to select a temporary printer
I don't want them to have to load the printers folder and switch the printer temporarily.how to load the printer dialog.
This for an app being used in Access 2003. I'm trying to (sort of) automate naming a PDF report. After the user selects a printer from the print dialog, if the printer name is like "*PDF*" then I want to put the PDF file name in the clipboard so it can be quickly pasted in the file name of the PDF printer's save dialog.
Something like this:
Code: Dim strSelectedPrinter as string DoCmd.OpenReport "rpt1", acViewPreview DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdPrint
[Code]....
but that returns the name of the default printer, not the selected printer.
I want to put a print button on my data entry form that prints the current record in a report that is laid out all nice and pretty. I found this code that works, but it goes straight to the printer - it does not bring up the printer dialog so you can select a printer.
Code: Private Sub RecordPrint_Click() Dim strWhere As String If Me.Dirty Then Me.Dirty = False End If
When trying to set a password I receive the following message.
You must have the database open for exclusive use to set or remove the database password.
To open the database exclusively, close the database, and then reopen it by clicking the File tab and using the Open command, In the Open dialog box, click the arrow next to the Open button and then select Open Exclusive.
When I follow the instructions, I don't get a dialog box. How do I set a password?
I have a Access 2010 DB. The mainform have a subform with one table alone.
I have a button who close Access when the user are finish on the mainform. Still I have the upper right corner X-button who also closing the app.
My problem is that when the user use the X-button then a dialog box appear and ask for saving the changes for the table in the subform on the main form. The user must then do the choise 'yes' , 'no' , 'Cancel'.
There is no need for this dialog box, (I take care if it's necessary earlier) but I can't get rid of it.
I have a client I'm currently working for that has dumped Access on me. I'm not originally here for Access and am sort of learning as I go along (I'm here to setup, run, and maintain servers, etc.)
The problem is they have a large contact database in Access, and want the forms to pop up a dialog asking if data changes are okay before actually updating. I know that Access normally just does the change, but there is an issue with someone that doesn't understand computers at all making a mess of it (adding in one client 15 times, each with one different piece of information, erasing things in an attempt to search, etc, etc.)
I've been going all over the place trying to research the issue for hours and have had no luck finding a solution. Any help would be beyond appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help!
I am asking my users to interact with the Get External Data dialog, and I'm trying to restrict what they can do.
Code: DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdImportAttachText
I really like the mapping feature Access uses so I want to use that part of the Wizard, but I don't want my users to import data to the wrong table. Can I skip the first page of the 'Get External Data' Dialog series? Invoke the 'Import Text Wizard' without the previous dialog?see: AWF2. I can get the file path from a File Picker dialog.
What i need to be able to do is write vba to find the value inside the comboxbox and then either:-
1. Run a macro with the same value that is in the combobox Or 2. Run a set of reports and print them off but are linked to the combobox value.
The combobox name is ODTyper The combobox control source is ODType which is a field in TblType The combobox row source is SELECT [TblType].Model FROM TblType; The value inside the combobox are in the format of TE4700 The name of the macros are in the format of TE4700 The Main form is called FrmOrderDatabase.
Plus somehow i need to get the value of the combobox and link it to print off the correct reports.
I've composed a table in Access 2010 that I want to use as an annex to a printed document. However, each time I try to print out a hard copy it includes the table title and the date of printing. How do I stop this?
While I have worked with computer all my life I am new to Access. I managed to create my database and the report I wanted to generate. However; I cannot get the Report Header to print on all pages. It only prints on the first page.
When I have the Home and Create default ribbons showing... then when I choose to Preview a report the Print Preview Ribbon is displayed and the Home and Create Ribbons are hidden or not visible.I have created a CustomRibbon and this CustomRibbon is not hidden when I choose to preview a report. The Print Preview ribbon is shown but the CustomRibbon keeps the focus and is not hidden.I would like for the CustomRibbon to not be visible.
I have just finished putting together an access database as a payroll. It is working fine and it will now save the company a lot of man hours in calculations.
When the employee clocks in or out there is a form and the employee has to key in a unique employee number and a password, which of necessity is hidden from view. Of course the password can be divulged from one employee to another.
Consequently, eventually I will need to incorporate a finger print reader and use the information from this instead of the password.
I am using access 2010 and have made a simple database for the company I work for. This consists of the a table of the raw data and a form to make the data printable.
I have been asked by our admin person if I can make it possible to be able to print labels from it. I know it is possible via the wizard but very limited.
What we really need is to be able to select the people from the table that we want labels for.
I have added a true/false check box to the table called 'label?'
I wish to produce a delivery note which needs to print an empty box for manually ticking.
I need a box for each item quantity i.e 5 items on the job print 5 boxes. 20 items print 20 boxes.
I have been able to use very crude code if there is only a few items, using if qty =1 then / 1/ else if qty = 2 then / 1/ / 2 / etc etc ...
That works and prints the / 1 / 2 / which is ok but there must be a simpler way as it the job has more that it would be much better and far more useful for other reports to print a box or item.
How do I print the complete code of a project? If I select all the code with CTRL+A in the code window does it print all the objects of the project I'm in or I have to select each object from the drop down list at the top of the code window?
I have report that i have in preview. In that report i have ribbon that has buttons close and print. Close works fine, with print it goes ok but when "printer selection" comes, i try to change printer it informs that not enough memory. All this code that is in ribbon buttons is in VBA.
What could be the reason for memory stuff or how could this be made that this inform wouldn't come.
Code below: Sub EnnakkoMyButtonCallbackOnAction(control As IRibbonControl) Select Case control.ID Case "MyBtn1" DoCmd.OpenReport "Tuotanto Ennakko", acViewPreview
