How To Show The Database Objects In The Windows Task Bar
Sep 11, 2007I have a problem. This problem is that I cant see the Database objects (Forms,Report,...) in the Windows task bar. I want the user to be able to see any opened form, or report directly in the task bar as any file opened by the Windows user.
I have tried to check on the (Show Windows in TaskBar) option available in the Tools -> options of the MS Access, but it doesn work with me.
What is happening now that I am forced to show the Menu Bar and use the Window menu to switch between the objects, however, This will not be OK for me because my system hides all the command bars the MS Acccess use.
Is the any way to solve this hard problem?
Change Font Color Of Selected List Box Item
Jun 3, 2013My list box will be used to populate a form, is it possible that once the item is dble-clicked, it reverts to a different color to let the user know it has already been selected once or can the row be locked once it has been selected?

I checked the Ribbon and it appears to be a custom toolbar. I deleted that out of the box but I'm still unable to view the design of any objects. How do I enable the menu items?

Aug 1, 2014I am experiencing a problem in MS Access 2013. I have a form which was working just fine until now. It has form labels in Calibri font and their font colour is one shade lighter than black. Today, I changed the font colour of the form labels to be Automatic - black (shows as 'Text 1' colour in the form properties). I did this in Design view.
I find that when I switch to layout view, the font of the labels appears as Century Gothic. This is the font that appears in the Form view. So while the font colour is correctly changed, the font name is not what I had set in the Design view. When I go back to the Design view, and change the font colour back to the original colour which was one shade lighter than black (Text 1, Lighter 50%), the font is correct in the Layout view and the Form view (Calibri).
So it seems that there is some sort of binding between the font colour (black) and the font name (Century Gothic). When I change the font colour, the font also changes. When I restore the original colour (one shade lighter than black), the font Calibri is correctly retained.

1 - Does it load limited amount of records on start-up and then load the remainder upon user interaction (scrolling for example)?

I know this can be done in layout mode, but it changes the font in all records, I only wish to change the font colour in one record, how I can do this, without changing all the records in the database.

Dec 4, 2012I'm using Access 2007. I have designed a database for one of a two division set up. All of the raw data in the tables is similar yet there is one unique identifier for the two divisions. Let's call it DivID, four characters in length.
To keep the maintenance simple I want to have one set of forms, queries and reports. I do not want to duplicate all of these. To the user they will only see one set of the menus, which will show all of the necessary sub-menus.
The first or main menu will have two buttons, Division A and Division B. The user simply clicks on the appropriate division button, and off they go. I'm thinking that it would be easiest for me if the DivID is stored after they click on their division button, and this value is used for any form or report that they run afterwards. Also, this DivID value would generate custom headers at each menu and submenu to confirm which division they chose.

Jun 3, 2015I have an access database that was set with security about 10 years ago.
I have now created another database in 2010 and I am importing all the objects to make a clean non secured database.
When I import tables it imports system table objects like MSysRelationships, but as it already exists it adds another MSysRelationships with a 1 on the end (MSysRelationships1).
Should I delete the original MSysRelationships and then rename the MSysRelationships1 as MSysRelationships.
There are numerous others like MSysAccessstorage, MSysACEs etc...
I am gathering that if I don't rename MSysRelationships1to MSysRelationships then the relationship data would be incorrect and the database wouldn't work correctly, but maybe I am wrong.

Jan 9, 2014All of the sudden I get an error message when I try to open my database from a file rather than through Access. If I open Access first and open the file that way, there is no problem but if I click on it from Windows Explorer, I get the error.

Feb 28, 2015Is it possible to conditionally change a font name? Report field is set for Wingdings 2 so I can print a check mark if underlying value is true. Wanting to change back to calibri to print "X" if not true. Haven't been able change it in an if statement. A macro setvalue fieldname.fontname to "calibri" throws type mismatch error. Setproperty choices don't include fontname.

Jan 17, 2006I've been working on a database for quite a while now, and i've now given it out for testing, and i've come across a little problem. One of the users is colour blind, and the colour theme i've used throughout this database is causing him problems.
I have a function that can single him out when he logs in, question is, is there a way i can change the font colour for the whole database in one go through code??
I have around 12 forms with many controls and labels, i'm kind of hoping i don't have to name each control and label separately to change the font colour.
Please tell me that there’s some clever piece of code that can change the font colour on a form in one hit…..

May 16, 2014All I want to do is change the font color and weight of a couple of columns in a form. No conditions or change when button is pressed or anything like that. Just be blue and stay blue.
I've tried making it a memo, rich-text field and it didn't work.

Jan 23, 2015I am creating a form and I have some fields I don't want people being able to change so I selected to disable them in the datasheet but now the labels have a strange double text, it looks different than all the other labels and is driving me nuts. when I enable it the font on the label goes back to what the others are but once I change it to disabled it goes funky again. how do I fix this?
