General :: Lookup Criteria - Rate To Calculate Salary

I have one table with employees and positions. Each position has a specific rate which is stored in another table (table2). Since the rates of the positions are changing, I want each time the employee get paid with the correct rate.
The problem is that I do not want to lose historic data since I want the rate to calculate the salary. I thought that the best way is to look up for the rate according to the position and the period that is valid.
I have attached herewith a small example with the two table that I want to use the relationship.

How to find out the Salary. A school remains closed for Winter vacation from 15th Dec. of Current year to 28-29 Feb next year.)
The management disburse the salary to the school as per following procedure
If the Employee has not completed 6 months period (180 days) as on 15th December of current year he will not be entitled to winter salary (2 and a half months) from 16th Dec. of current year to Last day of Feb. next year. For rest of the period he will get normal salary. i.e. for 11 days of June and July, August, Sept. Oct, Nov and 15 days of Dec. of current year he will get full salary.
To elaborate it further it means that if an employee has been appointed on 19th June of the current year his winter salary with effect from 16th Dec. of current year to last day of Feb next Year will not be disbursed. For other time period he is entitled for normal salary.

I've built and implemented an Access 2010 application for a corporate client. It's entirely menu driven, with no user access to the navigation pane. It's split with multiple BEs on a share drive and the FEs on individual PCs (distributed via Auto FE Updater). Two hundred users have been defined to the application but so far there are only up to 10 max concurrent users at a time.
The clients want to add more users to the system but after that will go into maintenance and support mode. The question is how much I should charge for the maintenance and support service on a monthly basis.
I'm not looking for a $ amount as much as strategies/guidelines for pricing. The clients anticipate using the application for about four years, at which point a new, corporate-wide application should be rolled out and my app will get replaced by it. They will probably need to convert the data from my app into the new app, and will want/need occasional enhancements to the system over the next four years as well.

I have a database with:
2 tables, tblStudentMarks and tblGrades
2 Queries qryResults and qryStudents_Grades
1.qryResults:Calculates the TotalAverageMaths+English+Science)/3.
2.qryStudents_Grades:Calculates the students grades based on the TotalAverage by comparing the total average to the min & max marks on the tblGrades.
Grades are compared within a range specified in tblGrades with the following SQL wich is the query qryStudents_Grades:

Question: i would like to also calculate the grades of the individual subjects in the same query (qryStudents_Grades), where the marks got by a student in the subject..say maths is compared to the (tblGrades) and grade is displayed in a colum say maths_grades for each student.
How can i do this for all subjects in one query. (qryStudents_Grades)?

Hello,
For the last few months I've been developing a database in access for the company where i work.
The database stores all kinds of waranty cards, and marketing campaign information about customers.
It is currently still in beta phase(it is being improved all the time) but it is fully functional, having an advanced search engine, multiple GUI's for all kinds of user information to be typed in and an advanced statistics engine.
It is currently being used by around 4-5 persons, and I am the only one working on its development.
My question is, around how much money should I get paid a month ? I must specify that i get paid the minimum salary. I know that it depends upon the country which I am in ( I live in a country in Scandinavia), but still I would like to hear some opinions from pro's or non-pro's who get paid to develop Access databases.

I have 2 tables: Employee (first name, last name, position, start date) and Salary table (salary, bonus, total)
What is the code to get salary by month for each employee, also seperate qury for salary by quarter, and then salary ytd.

I have a database with 10-12 fields containing dates certain things were completed. There is also a field for the 3 different locations we have and a program year 2006, 2007, or 2008. What they would like to do is click a button and get a list to choose the first date they which to compare, then a list to choose the second date, calculate the number of days between the two dates, select the program year from a list, and a location from a list. Can anyone help me with how to do this if it's possible?
The fields look something like this:
Prog Year Location DateA Date B DateC DateE
2006 G date date date date
2006 G date date date date
2006 P date date date date
2008 D date date date date
2007 P date date date date
For Example, I might want 2006 Program Year, Location P, calculating days between DateA and DateB, except that the next time I might want to choose a different set of criteria.
Any ideas?

I'm trying to produce a query that will bring up a list of all employees with their current salary amount. The table however, has all changes for an employee and reads as follows:
Table Name(NBRJOBS)
Employee ID-- Date of Change -- Salary Amt

Hi,
I am trying to create a query that calculates Bonus Prorate and Salary Prorate. In my query I had the following fields: Employee Id, Name, start date, Salary, Bonus, Disc Bonus, Guaranteed Bonus, Total Bonus.
The formula I was told to use to get the Salary prorated value is:
start date/365 x salary. How can I incorporate this in Access query?

I created a database to record time logged per workorder for each employee on my job. Each time log has a specific "Trade" attached to it along with a number of hours the employee spent on that workorder. I've created a report to display how much time the selected employee spent on each workorder (within a date range) and now I want to see what percentage of their time was spent on a particular "Trade" (for instance, during September Employee "name" spent "percentage" of their time on Electric, "percentage" on HVAC, "percentage" on Plumbing...[and so on])
I have trades listed in the table and in the time log, the form writes to the trades area of the table (probably very elementary for this discussion) and the report lists the name and grand totals with percentage of total time on each workorder, but does not list any trade information.
How can I add this into my report, preferably at the end (Report Footer?)

Need some help trying to filter out some data so it can be deleted from the main table so updated data can be pasted into it that table.
Table name is "dbo_VG_PropertyValues"
AppID - Number
DNIS - Text (This is the column i need filtered)

I had a query where i would just type in the 3-4 DNIS numbers that i needed to search for by using "11111" or "22222" or... etc... in the simple query view under criteria..
I'm now getting lists of 50 + numbers i need to do searches for, delete and replace with updated data. I can't run a string of "or" statements on 50+ numbers, it won't allow it. I created a table called 'DNISList" with the 50+ numbers i need to search for out of the "dbo_VG_PropertyValues" table. In the simple query view i linked on the DNIS number from both tables and set the join property to show all the records that matched. Hey it looks good, so far, i got the results i wanted but can't delete anything.
Is there anyway in the criteria field under the column DNIS from "dbo_VG_PropertyValues" where i can so a search on that table without linking the tables? I hope I'm making sense. You know something like:
IN ([DNISList]![TFN])

I want the lookup to be performed with criteria based off of the same row that record being selected is on.
I wrote typed out the Columns and rows that my queries return, and attached a screenshot as well.
You enter your phone number which provides you with an indexed location. Based off of that location only certain products are available and I want them to be filtered accordingly. I have it working to some extent, here is an example below:

The lookup displays products available where the indexed products match the same location. Here is what the query returns:

This is the affect that I want to achieve but, if I add another location like so:

The lookup returns all products available for all the records for each location entered rather than based off of the selected record.

I have written a user defined function that calculates the end of the current month. This I named EndOfThisMonth. It works well as a function. Now I would like to use it as date criteria to include in a query. The function is included as such EndOfThisMonth().
The field on which this function is to enter as a criteria is another calculated date function called Due.
When I run this query I get an error message saying Undefined Function 'EndOfThisMonth' in expression.

I have a drawing register database which notes the revisions for all drawings issued. One drawing can be revised several times so I have a details table which notes the revision letter, date issued and the notes for each revision. Using this table I created a max date query to show the latest issue date and revision for each drawing. This query is used for a transmittal form for issuing drawings. Both the form and report is working perfectly.
The TBLTransmittal consists of the following fields
ContractName
IssueDate
SubSup
DwgNo (multi-value checkbox)
Using the TBLDwgRegisterDtls or the query QRYDtldDwgReg (which includes the drawing titles) I would like to create a query that would look up the latest revision at the date of issue and show the revision letter.
I started a query combining TBLTransmittal and TBLDwgRegisterDtls and in the criteria for DateIssued of the TBLSDwgRegisterDtls (which is when the drawing was issued by the architect to the contractor) I put "Not > [IssueDate]". This is filtering the information to show revisions issued up to the date we (the contractor) issued the drawing to our sub-contractor but I need now to pull the max revision only from this information.
Before I go I will give you an example of what I want from the end result
Drawing BK2-02 rev. D was issued by the architect to the contractor on July 17th. This drawing was in-turn issued to our sub-contractor (Sub "A") this Saturday, August 9th. The same drawing was revised this morning and rev. E was issued to Sub "A" today, August 11th.
I want the end report to show that Sub A received Rev. D on 09-08-14 and Rev. E on 11-08-14.
I'm wondering if another max date query on this new query would work? I'll try and see what happens.

All users will interface with a form that will fill in data on the TransactionT table. I would like the data that is being input into the TransactionT.Quantity field to change the data ItemT.ESBuildingQty or ItemT.D3Qty based on which is chosen from StockLocation (they will only be able to choose either "ES Building" or "D3" when inputting the data).
For example, if the stock amount at the ES building of a particular item is 3 and the stock amount of that same item at D3 is 1 and a user inputs that a quantity of 3 of a specific item are taken from ES Building and Added to D3, I want the new values of ESBuildingQty to be 0 and D3Qty to be 4.
