May 5, 2014
so i had created query using query design wizard for which i i needed to enter year of the data everytime the query is being made all my data are correct when just using the query.however when i turning it into report where the query will still be runing and with adding in another field from my original table to get on the montly rearrangement that's where the some record are shown duplicate on the report
I want to use Access to collect data for our research department. I have created a number of forms to assist the department in collecting data. I created a query with all the fields from the relevant tables to be used to collect the data. I used the option Collect and Update data via email to generate the form for collecting the data and emailed the form to myself for testing (gmail account), however, I cannot edit any of the fields.
I am would like to build a microsoft access database such as complaint monitoring system.. I could integrate microsoft access 2007 with whatsapp? So that I could deliver complaint calls messages from my access 2007 db to whatsapp chat.
Ive recently developed in Emailing from Microsoft Access. When I was researching email methods from Access a thought occurred to me that there should be an A.P.I. that would do this the easy way.All of them did have a web A.P.I. which was all I needed to translate a web request from the other language examples given.
Code: Dim reportName As String Dim path As String Dim fso As Object Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Dim oFile As Object Dim strAttachments As String Dim strTransPort As String Dim byteData() As Byte
My main experience is with MySQL and PHP so I'm kindof stumbling around in the dark here. Heres my story:
We recieved a new server and migrating from (Windows Server 2000, IIS 5.0, Access 2000) to (Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0, Access 2003) has been nothing but problems.
I have setup IIS to work with ASP, I've also setup a system DSN. The access file was copied over from the previous server. We're running Access 2003 and now I can't seem to get this ASP script to work.
When I try to upload a file to the script I get this error:
Line: 42 Char: 7 Error: HELP!!! Error: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Invalid SQL statement expected 'DELETE','INSERT','PROCEDURE','SELECT', OR 'UPDATE'. Code: 0 Url: (URL address blocked: See forum rules)
Its included in a file called FileRead.htm here is the part that refers to the error lines: Code: var TheFile, FileStrm;// Retrieved field namesvar M_ssn, M_inits, M_Lname, M_Fname, M_DSSN, M_ruc, M_paycode;var M_normamt, M_payamt, M_pgrp, M_poe, M_pltcd, Payrollnum, Payrolldate;// var Trash, FieldData, FieldNames;var TrashLineNum = 1;// Create the file Stream Object (ReadOnly)TheFile = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");FileStrm = TheFile.OpenTextFile(FName,1,false);// Setup the Database Connectionvar SQLCommand, TheRS, TheConnection, DSNString, Commands, MyDC;FieldNames = new Array("ssn","inits","lname","fname","dssn","ruc","cco", "payamt","normamt","notsureone","pgrp","poe", "pltcode","recstatus","paychgflg","paystatuscode", "payrollnum","payrolldate");// Connect the the DatabaseDataLib.ConToDB();MyDC = DataLib.GetDC();// Get Payroll NumberPString = prompt("Enter Payroll Number","025");Payrollnum = parseInt(PString,10);// Get Payroll DateDString = prompt("Enter Payroll Date","20000101");Payrolldate = DateLib.FromMil(DString);// Setup the Database Connectionvar NumRecs = 0;//MyTest = DataLib.GetRS("PaydayUpdate1");alert("About to cross into the CurExtract!!!");MyRS = DataLib.GetRS("SELECT * FROM CurExtract");
I set an alert after this line but it doesn't pop up.
ANY HELP WOULD BE VERY GREATLY APPRECIATED. I'll be checking this very frequently.
I want to access Oracle 8.0 Data (meaning Oracle tables) with Access 2002. My problem is that I do not want to enter the username and password every time I connect to the Access db, as I want to create some queries in Access which I will export to Excel.
I do not think that this is something difficult but I can't seem to find any solution. Is there any proposal?
Hi! I have a problem to build Pivot table in Excel 2003. I’m creating this table base on the “External Data” which is a MS Access 2003 table. The table has 50 fields and about 500.000 records. (This is the reason, I can’t just export table to Excel and then do pivoting). One of the fields of this table has a “text” type but stored numbers. Excel does not allowed me do Sum or Max function with this field – it needs to have Number data type. I receiving this table “from outside”, so I can’t get the right data type from the beginning. If I’m trying simply opening the table, before, using as a data source for Pivot Table, in Design mode and just change data type from text to number, I have an error: "Microsoft Access can't change the data type. There isn't enough disk space or memory." Any advice, how to change Data type in existing table using queries or something else what can help me to solve this problem.
I am currently using Access 2010, and have successfully split a database, using the Access wizard. However, whenever a second or third user opens the database - with their front-end database file - they encounter the following message; The Microsoft Access Database engine cannot open or write to the file ". It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view and write its data.
I have researched the internet and see that it has something to do with network permissions. I have worked with my IT department and this appears to be resolved!
Is there a setting I need to check in the front-end and/or back-end copies of the databases? Why is there no file name in the error message?
I am trying to create an ODBC link to a copy of the Northwind data base.I am running Win7 on a 64 bit operating system but am keeping office running as 32 bit for Access, Excel , Visio etc due to the fact that I have a lot of old apps tied to them.
When I attempted initially to create a new system DSN ODBC connection it only allowed me to use SQL drivers. (No plurry good) So after some searching I found out that I could use a file in C:WindowsSysWOW64 called "odbcad32.exe" which has allowed me to view /use the total list of drivers to import data.So I can set up a DNS ODBC named Northwind1 and I can access the database without problems using Excel. However if I try to use the same ODBC link in Access to connect to Northwind1 I get the following error message:"You cannot use ODBC to import from export to, or link an external ?Microsoft Access or ISAM database table to your database".
I am using Microsoft Access 2000 and wanted to know how to import data from another Access database that was done in Visual Basic. I know how to import flat-file database such as Excel but how do I import data that has a One-To-Many Relationship? The end user will need to transistion into the new database so I would need to update it once awhile. Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
I would like to convert a database, which was made for me, in order to enable it to be used on my current system.
I get the error message below when trying to open the database in Microsoft Access 2003.
The database was made using Microsoft Access 2.0.
Will I need Microsoft Access 2.0 to update/delete the database all the time?
Or can I convert this to be used with Microsoft Access 2003?
I have tried opening the file exclusively and I get the same error.
I have selected Show Help and it advises me to import all the objects from the database into a new database. This can`t be achieved as I can`t open the file to retrieve the contents.

Thank you very much for your help and all responses are appreciated, Sam

I have the following tables in my Access database.
A < B < C < D
(The "<" represents a one to many relationship.)A given row in table A can have up to 4 children (stages) in table B (stages 1 to 4).The other one to many relationships do not have any limitations as far as the number of children are concerned. All tables have AutoNumber primary keys. When the user clicks a button in a form, I want to:
Copy all data in the current stage (current row) in table B (corresponding to a given parent row in table A), to the next stage in table B.All data in child tables must be included in the copy process. In other words, for a given row in table A, by use of buttons in the forms for each of the stages 1 3, the user shall be able to do the following:
all data for stage 1 are copied to stage 2 (for user modification), then all data for stage 2 are copied to stage 3 (for user modification), then all data for stage 3 are copied to stage 4
Hi all, I seem to be getting this error when I try to import a query from MS Access to Excel:Too Few Parameters. Expected 1.Now, it runs fine in Access and seems to be a Microsoft Query problem, I know there are some issues around the performance and capability of Microsoft Query but hopefully someone can have a look at my query and see if they can identify my "too few parameters" :)(Sorry about the largeness of the query...)SELECT YPOL_LoadTbl.[Channel Done], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Canvass Code], Sum(YPOL_LoadTbl.[Handl Nisd Amt]) AS [SumOfHandl Nisd Amt], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID]FROM YPOL_LoadTblGROUP BY YPOL_LoadTbl.[Channel Done], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Canvass Code], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID]UNIONSELECT "ALL" AS [Channel Done], "ALL" AS [Canvass Code], Sum(YPOL_LoadTbl.[Handl Nisd Amt]) AS [SumOfHandl Nisd Amt], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID]FROM YPOL_LoadTblGROUP BY YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID]UNIONSELECT YPOL_LoadTbl.[Channel Done], "ALL" AS [Canvass Code], Sum(YPOL_LoadTbl.[Handl Nisd Amt]) AS [SumOfHandl Nisd Amt], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID]FROM YPOL_LoadTblGROUP BY YPOL_LoadTbl.[Channel Done], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID]UNIONSELECT YPOL_LoadTbl.[Channel Done], "ALL" AS [Canvass Code], Sum(YPOL_LoadTbl.[Handl Nisd Amt]) AS [SumOfHandl Nisd Amt], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID]FROM YPOL_LoadTblGROUP BY YPOL_LoadTbl.[Channel Done], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID]UNION SELECT "ALL" AS [Channel Done], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Canvass Code], Sum(YPOL_LoadTbl.[Handl Nisd Amt]) AS [SumOfHandl Nisd Amt], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID]FROM YPOL_LoadTblGROUP BY YPOL_LoadTbl.[Canvass Code], YPOL_LoadTbl.[Issue ID];Thanks!
I have a form which saves to a database correctly. It has a key field name called "code".
I can recall the data into a copy of the first form to edit by using the key field "code".
All works well, however, when I click save data from the edit form it does not alter the original data but creates another form but with the same key field called code.
I have an App that runs a few action queries using:
Code: CurrentDb.Execute "[My Query Name]"
At some point I get this Error: The Microsoft Access database engine cannot find the input table or query <name>. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly. (Error 3078).The query is there, I can run it from the DB objects window.Queries run using CurrentDb.Execute earlier in the code.
This mind sound like a pretty lame question to the pro's....
Is it possible to duplicate an Access database creating a new blank database - retaining only the database/table structure? I have a website content management system and I want to duplicate the database for each new site.
Also, is it possible to reset the 'auto-numbering' to zero?
Whilst I've build a reasonably advanced web-based system based on a database containing a dozen or so relational tables plus queries, I'm no expert on advanced Access functions.
What I would like to know about Microsoft SQL Server & Access 2003 : I am a novice at creating my own database. I would like to use Microsoft SQL Server & Access 2003 . I have in the last 3 months read all I can about creating a database in Microsoft Access 2003 . Now I need to learn about Microsoft SQL Server, and it is very different from Access 2003. I have purchase many bussiness applications over the last 5 years, and fount that over software are to rigid, as I need something very specifil to my bussness. If you intend to reply, please be very specific & in plain English.
Can someone help me ?
1Can Microsoft SQL Server 2000 work with Microsoft access 2003. a.Is this do-able .
2Can Mysql also work with Microsoft access 2003
3What is the difference between Microsoft SQL Server & Mysql.
I'v looking for since a couple months a go to make a report direct from access form using crystal report but i havent found it yet. I'v tried this code and its giving me errors. " run time error 1004 method range of object _global failed "
how to make a report using crystal report direct from ms access as front end application ? is it possible to use crystal report ?btw i use database sql server 2008 and MS Access 2007 as my frontend application.here's the code that i'v found and gives me an error
Dim CR As New CRAXDRT.Application Dim rep As CRAXDRT.Report Set rep = CR.OpenReport(Range(" ??? ")) * i getting error in this line, what should i do to fill it ?? rep.ParameterFields(1).AddCurrentValue "Boston" rep.ParameterFields(2).AddCurrentValue "Cars" rep.Database.Tables(1).SetLogOnInfo "tool", "db_tsel" rep.ReadRecords rep.PrintOut promptUser:=False, numberOfCopy:=1 ' promptUser:=True doesn't work
I have a database that allows multiple entrys of the same information. I also have a report based on a query that pulls out said data.
I just need my query to pull out every record regardless if it is indentical to a previous one. I found under queries > design > properties there are two options unique values and unique records. According to a source online, these are what control allowing duplicates through, but I have swapped them around with no luck. Currently they are both set to "no".
Is there some other setting I have to switch up in order to allow the duplicates to come through?
I have a database with a form called "Main" where users input data and then print a report from it. "Main" has fields in it from another form "Members". This data (from "Members") is shown on "Main' by Dlookup coding, and therefore cannot be selected for input by the user. Now, lets say a user inputs data into "Main" and prints the report on 12/30/2012. On the next day, a member's name is changed and I update that data in the "Members" form. On 12/31, I would like to print the report again, but it shows the updated member's name instead of what is was like on 12/30. How can I keep the old data in case I want to print the report in the future like it was initially printed? What do I need to do to any form(s), report or what VBA code needs to be written?
I'm running an update query that's based on a select query (that runs some calculations). The update query is updating ALL the rows that should be updated with the information in the select query with data from the final row in the select query, and not on a per ID basis as I think I have it set-up to do. The data looks correct in the update query, but again it's not coming out right.
