Forms :: Open Another Form If Checkbox Is Checked?
Apr 7, 2013I am trying to write an IF statement as a macro on the OnClick property of a checkbox and can't get it to work. Basically, if the checkbox is checked (for Yes) I want it to open another form. (The checkbox is a field on a subform on a form).
I haven't even gotten this far yet, but I would also like the IF statement to include an AND somehow....in other words I want the IF statement to basically say if the box is checked for yes AND the offer status field ="Accepted", then open another form. If either is False, then I don't want it to do anything except display a message box saying they can't initiate a contract is both conditions aren't true.

Check A Checkbox If Not Already Checked And Vice Versa
Nov 6, 2011I am trying to create a medical records inventory. We have physical charts which each have a barcode and I have a scanner. The idea is to have employees who want to check the chart out scan their barcode (on their badge), scan the chart's barcode and leave.
I have a table called tblCharts with the fields: ID (primarykey which is also the chart number), a checkbox, Employee ID, Date, and Time checked out.
I have Employee ID linked to my tblEmployees that simply has a listing of the employee ID's and first and last names.
I don't care about keeping a record of who has had the chart in the past.
I just can't figure out how to tell the checkbox to be checked (to indicate the chart is out) when a number is added to the ID field (via scanner).
So here's how it would go:
Scan the chart's barcode which would populate into the ID field. Search to see if the record with the same number is already existing, if not create a record. IF it does exist, check to see if the checkbox is checked. If it is checked then the chart is being checked back in (so uncheck the box). If it is not checked to begin with (still in), then check it out and associate the employee's scanned barcode with it.

Forms :: Textbox To Perform Dlookup If Checkbox Is Checked?
Sep 9, 2013I have a text box on a form, currently it performs a dlookup for me. I want to change it so that it only performs the Dlookup if a checkbox is checked, but otherwise will display the text that's in an unbound text box.
Not 100% this is even possible, but hoping so. So far I have in the textbook:
=IIf([CHECKBOX]=0,DLookUp("TABLE","FIELD","ID = " & [Text57] & ""),[TEXTBOX])
The dlookup works fine by itself, it's just making it conditional that's causing me problems. I know it could just be a small problem with the way I've written it, or it could be a bigger thing with me not understanding the way IIF works.

General :: Sending PDF To A Website
May 5, 2013I have a DB that runs on a user's pc. It creates a pdf from a report automatically at a specific time of day. The user now wants me to automatically send this pdf to his web site so that his customers can view the report over the internet. The pc that the db runs on has an internet connection but no email system (they do not want email on this pc).
I have not been able to find code to do this. I can find code for sending email but this is not what I want to do. I'm sure it must be possible but I've never done anything like this before.

When I open the link using firefox, I can view the website with the data in it, but when I open it from Internet Explorer, I get a save as pop-up message to save a csv file which contains all the data. Currently, I am opening the file using firefox, copying all the data manually, and pasting it in a text file using notepad. After that, I import the file into access. The delimiter of the data is this symbol: |
I am trying to find a way to link my database to the website where the data is located so that I can skip the manual process of opening the website and copying the data and saving it into a text file and then importing that file into access. I was thinking to have like a form in access with a bottom that will automatically import that data from this link and paste it into a table in access using the delimiter symbol mentioned above.
Is this too complicated? Is it even possible in access 2010?

I was wondering how to delete records that have been checked (through a checkbox) in a form...
Also, I want to add a record after the record that has been checked. I only want this ability to add records available if only one record is checked. Otherwise, if more than one record is checked, the "Add Record" button would be disabled.

Nov 12, 2013I need to display a message on a form after a record update has been done depending on whether a table field is ticked or not. If it is ticked I want one message if it is not ticked I want a different message, but here is the scenario.
I have a form and one of the options I have is to call up an address from a record in a table. I want it to display a message to advise whether there is a special requirement for delivery to the address, so in the table I have a checkbox field. If its checked, once the address has been pulled up I want it top advise 'special requirement' or 'no special requirement'.
I need to do this in a macro form, or expression form if possible as I already have an after update macro when that drop down is selected.
So on the dropdown list I have the following on the afterupdate function:

General :: Group By Query And Adding Checkbox Fields To Update A Table
Oct 24, 2014I have a invoice system I have created in Access and it did used to work perfectly and then maybe an update Who knows stopped the system working.
I have an customer order screen that has customer details and then a subform within the same form this takes a total of items & costs for this order and then it entered it into the customers table from the order_Details table using me.Order_total = Order_Total.
I know this is bad design but I store it because once the order is places I need the total to be static because the invoice has been sent and so if someone changes the order then the total owed doesn't change.
I then have a reconcile form which is on a datasheet form straight from the tab;e so it is editable which has a checkbox that then once ticked copies the total from the Order_Total in the table to the reconciled field in the same table and then I use a report to show who owes me still.
So I have made a Select query from the Orders table & Order_Details table and used a Group by Order number (Which is the link between the 2 tables) this shows correctly but now not editable because of the rules So I am trying to add an editable checkbox on the same form.
I tried to use a dlookup makes all of the boxes either ticked or not. I've been looking at Recordsets but I'm unsure if this is what I need or not really
So really I just need to see if I should be putting the Total from the Subform into the mainform and then entering it into the table (Like previously) using a calculated unbound field and then using the Afterupdate event to insert the data into the table. but for some reason it just wont work.
I can get the OnClick to work but then as soon as i go to the next record for some reason it then resorts to 0.00 but then the table shows correctly which ever record the form is working on.
Or should I be using the new query based idea to create the reconcile form and if this is the best way I just don't now where to start on how to get a multiple table query that I can then add a reconciled checkbox which then copies the Order_Total from the table to the Paymet_Recieved field.
Synchronising A LAN BE With A Website DB

The situation is that we have a split DB on a LAN using Windows Server. The BE is on the server and the FE are distributed to each user PC on the LAN. (For historical reasons there are differing versions of Access at each user which was the primary motivation to split the DB)
We also have a copy of the DB on the company website which is to be updated via FTP on a regular basis. This is used for queries only by visitors. We now want our clients to be able to update their information on line in tandem with our local users.
The question is - what is the best method to keep these DBs synchronised?
My thought is to use replication with the LAN BE as the master DB and the website having a replicated version. Then we can periodically download the website version and synchronise the two - presumably we would have to disable the updating function on the website while we do this and then reload the new replicated version up to the website.
A problem I see already is that the website DB is not split where the local version is - is it possible to rejoin a split database? Synchronise it, upload a a replica and then split the BE and FE again?
All Ideas / Suggestions welcome
