I am using a query with parameters set. when the user enters a search and clicks ok they get routed to the correct form. however if they click cancel on the parameters pop up box the form wont open and it leave them without a form to reopen anything within the database. How when they click the cancel button i can make a different form open up?
I have a form, which is comprised of a sub form, and some of the text box controls sided with a button, and the event had been written to the button.
Now, to give a note on how had the sub form had been created is firstly taking a clone of the "Payments" table and using it as a datasheet, and then create a sub form in the form, it works fine
My problem is when I do this I get a pop up asking for a Parameter Value. but there is text in Text89. How to I get a round the Parameter Value box coming up an automatically do this. If I type the first four letters in to the Parameter Value it finds it on Consignment Guide.
Is there a way to open a form from a form in a different database? I'm pretty sure it needs to be done in VBA and have seen some code floating around that suggests it can be done, but I'm thinking there's more to it, like maybe one or both of the DB's need to be in a different format?
I have created a Db in MS Access 2010 and under Options > Current Database I have done the following:
- Used drop down to select a form I want to display on opening - Unchecked display navigation pane - Unchecked allow full menus
This works how I want it to, perfectly. I then send it to a client who also has MS Access 2010 and when they open the file the form I have told it to open doesn't open, the navigation bar is displayed (with the form I want to open highlighted) and the full menus show but are locked.
What's going on? Is it some security setting the client has that isn't letting the opening procedure execute properly?
I want to count the number of occurences in a datatable when loading a form. BUT i want only to count if it is equal to a value on a text box on this same form.
what i made:
1-created a unbound textbox 2-inserted on "control Source" this expression =DCount("*";"T_Pendentes";"[disponente.Procurement]= " & [me].[disponenteProcurement].[Value] & "")
where * is to count all, T_Pendentes is the table, and de expression is the criteria.
I want to build a form that allows a user to book an appointment.
I want them to be able to see a choice of their own or other people's appointments for the day so they can choose a time.
I'm told i can build a query to show the appointments and put that in a subform on the form.
My question is this: to select which person's appointment to display and which day, i need to give the query parameters. I don't really want to do it with the parameter query popups. What i'd like is a couple of pull down lists at the top of the timetable to select and display the person and date.
Is this possible? Should i put the pull down boxes on the form or in the query?
Whenever I open the form 'TrainingF' I get the 'Enter Parameter Value' msg box. I tried to look online but could not get rid of it. I have attached the file.
So I have a report that opens via Parameter. The SQL behind the query that runs the report is (I took out alot of lines that aren't necessary to answer the question)
PARAMETERS [Enter Your Box Id] Short; SELECT DocumentsTable.OrganizationalID, . . . DocumentsTable.Status FROM DepartmentsTable INNER JOIN (Year1 INNER JOIN DocumentsTable ON Year1.ID = DocumentsTable.RecordDateYearID) ON DepartmentsTable.ID = DocumentsTable.DepartmentID WHERE (((DocumentsTable.Voided)<>'Y' Or (DocumentsTable.Voided) Is Null) AND ((DocumentsTable.ID)=[Enter Your Box ID]));
So if I click on the report, I get a little popup that says "Enter Your Box ID", and when I do, the report works just as expected.
However, I also want to be able to open this report via link from another report, and pass the Box ID #. I just can't get the syntax right. I would have thought it was this:
Private Sub ID_Click() DoCmd.OpenReport "Find A Box", acViewReport, , "[Enter Your Box Id]=" & Me.ID End Sub
However when that execute, I still get the pop up asking for "Enter Your Box ID"
I have a stored procedure created in SQL SERVER 2008r2
I have a form in access adp project with combo boxes, when I click the submit button I want the values chosen to be the parameters and the stored procedure called to generate a report
I have a Form opening from Access Options. I would like to close this Form using the Timer. The following is the code I have used but it is not working.
Private Sub Cover_Page_Form_Load() OpenTimer = Timer End Sub Private Sub Cover_Page_Form_Timer() If (Timer - OpenTime) = 5 Then DoCmd.Close acForm, "Cover_Page_Form", acSaveYes End Sub
Next question. If I can get this to work can I then use a DoCmd to open new Form within the code above or do I need a new process.
I was exploring using User-level permissions on databases so I, the admin, can have full permissions to edit/change etc. the database and certain users can only add/edit data. But I inadvertently have now set Access to ask me for a password for any db I open. Even if it's my own personal one. Can I set up Access to only ask for login info on certain db's, not all. I know that 2010 did away with User and group level permissions but was able to add it back through customizing the ribbon and adding this feature back to it.
Windows 8.1, Access 2013, Microsoft Office 2007 , Access 2007 uninstalled When I try to open Options from File, I get the Windows Installer box open up, Preparing to install.......wait while windows configures Microsoft Office professional 2007. File Options was working before!
A colleague sent me an .accdr file, and since I don't have Access, I was told to download Access Runtime. From other forums I see that I'm just supposed to be able to double-click the file to get it to open, but I cannot. The file is associated with .7s, and since I can't locate the Access Runtime program, I can't change the association.
I found the code below online and added it to a process I already use. It works great for what I need to do right now. The code opens the email with the email address, the file attached, and a message in the body. The only thing that is missing is the subject line, which is the month of the report.
It is a monthly report sent via a text file to another group. The form that I send this from has a table as the Control Source. The month is in that table. I can put it on the form and hide it so that it can be accessed. How to add that below so that the month would show up in the Subject Line of the email?
START OF CODE
Dim objOutl Set objOutl = CreateObject("Outlook.Application") Set objMailItem = objOutl.CreateItem(olMailItem) 'comment the next line if you do not want to see the outlook window objMailItem.Display
I have two pop up forms called "frmRepair" and "frmPaid" with a button that opens another popup form called "frmLabels". This final form has a button to print a report with the following code:
The problem is that when this report opens, it is always behind frmRepair or frmpaid and frmLabels so it can't be seen.
I tried to use the popup and modal properties on the report, but this does not seem to do what I need.
My next step was to hide frmRepair or frmPaid when frmLabels loaded and then hide frmLabels when I was printing the report, but the problem is that when the report closes I need to also close frmLabels (easy) but then I need to make visible either frmRepair or frmPaid, depending on which one was used to open frmLabels. How can I do that? How do I know which one of the two forms opened frmLabels to make it visible again?
What are my options to have that report open on top of everything?
why I get a pop up asking for parameter value of fields I no longer have in my table? It says this when I open my form. I deleted the fields from my form but it's still asking for it.
In the database that I use at work sometimes when we OPEN it we get an immediate error saying out of memory, therefore we close it and reopen and all is good.
This is a problem when the average user logs on as they don't close it, they just continue on and then start experiencing issues.
I thought that the memory was supposed to clear when you close the database.
We run the debugger and no errors are ever found, we also run the compact and repair.
This can happen 1 in 10 or maybe 20 times when we open the database.
I need Access to open an Excel file prior to pulling information from it, because the Excel file itself only updates when it is opened. I was able to achieve this with the code below:
Quote:
'Opens a hidden Excel window. Dim app As New Excel.Application app.Visible = False Dim book As Excel.Workbook Set book = app.Workbooks.Open("S:OperationsAssistantDataba sesBUSES.xlsx")
[code]....
This works fine if NO Excel window is already open, but if the user happens to have some file open in Excel already, my code doesn't seem to work right. The file does not open in a hidden window. Instead, it opens in the window already open, and additionally, the file is not closed afterward, which leaves the user wondering where the hell this random file came from, and they have to close it. I need this Excel file to open, but I want it to be completely hidden from the user.
I am trying to open MX Excel using a command button. I have tried using a hyperlink a various codes that i have found online with no luck. The Excel file is being used by the Access as it bring data from the spreadsheet a displays it within a subform. (I think this is where the problem occurs) The subform displaying some data from Excel is working fine but when i click my hyperlinked button i am met with errors and the file will not open.
I am having problems opening my databases. Access automatically opens them in 'Read Only' mode, and I cannot find a way to avoid this - so I can never add data to the original tables ....
Normally when I hold down the shift key when opening an Access database it opens in development mode. When I do this on a certain database it does not. It still opens in program mode. If I hit F11 it goes into a sort of development mode but I do not get the ribbon bar at the top etc.
Has something been set on this database to stop it opening in development mode? Can I switch it off?
I am having some problem with the Microsoft Access. I want to preview the report but it always show the popup asking me to enter the parameter value after I clicked the button. For your information, this problem doesn't occur in the subform. But when I try to test it with my main page, the problem is occur. Need to remove the popup.
I have a simple log table that I am opening from a button on a form and adding a new record to the table. The table opens bu I get "Permission Denied" as a message - however I can then enter the form and enter data with no problem.why the VBA code cant do the same? what does Permission Denied usually mean?
Is there a way to open an Access Database from a batch file or VBS file wait for 20 seconds and then close the Access file. Preferably I would like the Access file to run in either invisible or minimized mode. I would like the Access Database to close again after the 20 seconds has elapsed.
(The reason for this is so that the Database can refresh itself from Sharepoint on another users machine so that the excel reports on his machine are up to date).
I have a split database with multiple users. Since I split the database, it runs slower than the unsplit version. I understand this happens. I would like to have a message pop up when the database is loading. It takes approx 2 mins to load. Users get impatient and start clicking. So, I wanted to have a message pop up to let them know it is opening.
I have the same problem with forms loading, I have 5 forms and each takes about 4 secs to load, so thought about a loading message there too.
