General :: Order Database - Discount Table With Percentage For Each Item
Aug 23, 2013
I have been asked to create a database that creates orders, debits stock etc for my company. Now I have been asked to put in some kind of discount table with percentages for each individual item for each individual customer. What would the best way of doing this?
I figured in the Customer Table I would have a code such as 'CustomerADiscount' and 'CustomerBDiscount' etc. and then in my table maybe
Product A - CustomerADiscount - 10%
Product A - CustomerBDiscount - 20%
Product B - CustomerADiscount - 5%
Product B - CustomerBDiscount - 7%
This link these values up within a query? Would this be the best way of doing it?
Is Access able to determine a percentage in "10%" or "5%" or do I need some type of formula for it instead?
Hi I'm hoping someone can help me with this problem (the access problem.. not the other one ! ) I have a table of Products, each item belongs to a product group, I have a table of Customers, amoungst the normal customer fields I have fields named after the item discount groups so that each customer has his own discount for that group of products... when I enter an item into the sales order form I would like the discount for that customer for that item(item group) to go into the discount box.. sounds easy if you say it fast... I hope someone can help me with this !
I have a work order system that people use but it somewhat randomly puts blank records into my table. I've added a lot of validation checks when submitting, closing and resetting the form and limited the way people can exit out of the form to fight this issue but it still happens.
Is it possible to direct the placement/order new of fields when modifying an Ms Access database in code?
I need to modify the schema of an MS Access database via code - but I want to be able to direct the order or placement of the fields within the tables.
For example - if TableOne has 3 fields - Field10, Field20 and Field30.
I would like to be able to add say Field15 between Field10 and Field20 - not just append it to the end of existing fields.
I believe it is possible as you can do it within Ms Access itself. I can use ADO, DAO, ADOX or SQL for that matter - but it seems all of these offer no placement of the field within the table.
For an assignment I am required to do the following:
Quote: Use an expression (in field name of design view by using the build button) to create a new field (in Design View of a Query) called "Discount Price" in table "Stock" which is a 25% discount for all stock items from the new inflated price in query B (use expression builder if needed and create it the field name of a query; it will not appear in the table if you try to open the table).
So sorry to bug again. Any ideas or processes on how to go about this would be welcomed
I have a subform based on a query. In that query, I have calculated values for price+tax and another price+discount+tax. Now I have a conditional formatting that if the gross total is not equal to amount due, the amount due box will turn red. However even if they are equal visually, it still turns red. Ex. The gross total is 336.00 and the amount due is 336.00 also, so it should NOT turn red, but it does. When I click on the amount due control, the value turns into 335.999999195337. How do I tell access not to make 336.00 into 335.999999195337.
What I'm looking to do is calculate the success rate (%) of compliance rates with Quality Control paperwork. Essentially, each record has 12 "check box" fields representing the different QC sheets that are submitted each day.
I created a table called weld_performance. it consist weld_id, weld_prod, total_rt, accepted, rejected, and rejection rate. from weld_prod until rejection rate, the type data is number. the rejection rate field size is Single, and Format is Percent.
Based on this table, i create a query called query1. and based on this query1, i create a chart. please see attachment pic001. as you can see the data label on the chart is showing 0.66667. but in my query1, the value is 67%. if i click the value (67%) it's change to 0.66667.
So I guess, the chart is read the 0.66667 value from the query. now what i want to ask is, how can my chart data label is shown 67% instead of 0.66667 ??
I'm having difficulty in adding decimal amounts to a percentage expression. On a form in a text box I have a percentage expression of 73.38%. In a combo box I have a drop down menu of: 0.75, 0.5, 0.25, 0, -.25, -.5, -.75With another text box I would like to have the decimal amounts added to the percentage. For example, 73.38% + .5..Which will equal in the text box: 73.88%
I've been looking at all the fine db samples and advice provided in this forum and they are giving me a huge boost in my new job as a DB Admin. :D
Since this forum has a very active group and you guys know and done it all, ;) I thought I would ask if anyone out there has done or could give me an idea on how to buid the following db:
I need to create a db that will keep track of a specific item from the moment it comes in 'til it goes back out. This could be weeks in the process.
What happens is that this is a program where people donate old worned out wheel chairs and they get totally overhauled. As the chairs come in they need to be tracked from start to finish to see where they came from (Somewhere in the USA), what process it took to overhaul it (ItemID and Current location [Storage, Repair BIN, Repair Table, Completed Tabe, Outbound Table, En Route to Destination, etc] and status [For parts, fixable, paint room, repair room, completed]) and where they were donated to, a city in some foreign country (Africa, Asia, Mexico, South America, Etc.).
If someone has something I can use would be great, but if not any idea on how to do it best, would be greatly appreciated.
I have two list boxes on a form. The first listbox contains CATEGORIES and the second contains ITEMS that belong to respective categories. So, when i click a category the next listbox displays the items that belong to that particular category.
I need to know how to add new items to a selected category and also delete items from a selected category. If no category is selected or item already exixts, item should not add.
I have been creating a Access database to hire bikes out. I have created all the tables etc but i am stuck creating a query i want to create. I want to have a sub form on my booking form from a query which will show all the available bikes that can be hired. I have looked at the lending library sample and this hasn't really worked, My database is set out differently.
I have attached a version of the database to the post, this is zipped with some screenshots which may be useful.
I have a list of inventory (SR #s) in a excel under column A. And also there are 20 users using ms-access accessing by their user names. If a user completes one item, the next item from the excel should automatically goes to the next available user. After the item allocated to the particular user, under column B the user name should come and in column C there should be a comment saying "Done" Can i have a code for this in SQL or VBA.
Drop down list equipped with new item input provided. My application now use a drop down list to access/display a form with certain item selected, but I want to entry new item using drop down list which equipped with "entry new item" then I hope the form can be accessed belongs to new item.
Greetings all, I am probably just being dense. But how do I go about entering a percentage of say 5% in a numer field formated to percentage in a table? If I enter 5 in translates to 500%, .05 as 0! Thanks, Brian. Zimbabwe.
I want to develop (create) a database using MS Access 2007 or 2010 about Amazon.com.
My ideas are:
1. Create a form to lookup items in the actual amazon website, and then sort the results of the search. 2. View the results. If I select Add to Cart or Add to Wish List, send the item information to my Access database.
I currently have a listbox. (list32) that is populated with results of a query. I would like to doubleclick on an item and have it open a form that displays the listbox record i clicked on and a "notes" field. Its my understanding that the table fields are limited to 255 chars so i was curious if I could make the notes field reside somewhere else. I will need the notes able to be edited, specific to record entry, and then saved on exit. Is this doable?
Using ms access 2010, I created a table called all items contains the ID, item name, item code, item price.
Second table I created called orders, contains item1,Q1=quantity,Tot1=calculated field.
Then a form to fill the orders table with a combo box for Q1 (gets the value from a table called numbers), second combo box for item1 (gets the value item code and item price from the table all items), and a text box to calculate the total of the Q1-item1(item price) All working perfect except the combo box for item1 ends up displaying a different item code that's only if the items were at the same price, for example, I choose latte from the combo box gives me correct item price but the code is cappuccino, only happening with items with the same price.
If I set the property of the combo box Bound Column to 1, I get correct item code but calculation error, Bound Column to 2, I get correct calculations but wrong item code. how to get the combo box to display the correct item code?
I'm currently working on fixing an older 97 database that I've updated to 2010. I have just populated the Drop down box with about three fields. Ideally what I want to do is after having selected the item number from the drop down box I then hit the button that creates a report with the information about that item number.
At the moment...If the box is blank it reports all the item numbers, however if i fill the box(select an item) it returns nothing i.e the report is blank.
I've looked at the query that builds the report, there are only three fields that populate the. location, part number and description. from a tbl called MainDetails
the only other thing: If([Forms]![frmReports]![FLoc] Is Null,[FUNCTIONAL LOCATION] Is Not Null,[FUNCTIONAL LOCATION] Like [Forms]![frmReports]![FLoc]) it has a criteria of <>False *FLoc is the drop down box *functional location is the location field. I believe all the above does is populate the report if Floc is empty.
What can I put to make the report generate what ever I pick in the drop down box 'FLoc' source the three fields from the 'MainDetails table'.
I want to make an invoice with products and services and totals, the thing that has me wondering is how do I save an invoice with multiple lines in the item section of the invoice. I want to be able to choose a customer and then see the list of invoices connected to that customer, and when I click the invoice to open it as it was. What would be the best way to do this?
The invoice contains:Customer info, adress, name...etc
List - multiple lines of products sold / services completed Totals, date & time...etc Relationship goes like this: Customer -> Invoice <- Inventory / Services
