General :: Outlook Event Based On Query Dates
Dec 2, 2014
I have a query that has some reminder dates. 10 days before an event and 5 days after. I was wondering if it would be feasible to create an outlook reminder based on the query and if so how would I go about it?

I've setup a selection form that returns a specific list of email addresses in a query.
What I can't work out is how to press a button and have the email addresses populate the To: field in a blank Outlook email - I don't need any bells or whistles.

I am trying to create an attendance database, our company introducing the point system attendance,
Called Off (CO) 2 points
Left Early (LE) 1 Point
Tardy (Tar) 1 point
Employee can reduce point if they have perfect attendance for 90 days from the last day of violation. For example, an employee absent on 01/01/2015, he will received 2 points, the credit will giving on 04/01/2015, if there is no violation, but if he absent again on 03/31/2015 not only he will received 2 more points his 90 days will start from 03/31/2015, now he will eligible to get credit on 06/29/2015 and so on.So far I have created 3 tables and 1 query.
Tables
Employees: Id, Last Name, First Name
Points: Id, Description Points
Attendance:Id, Date, Employee ID, Points ID
Query
Date
Employee ID
Last Name
First Name
Point Description
Points
how and which formula to use which calculate the points based on above example.

- I currently have a table that is labeled WorkSchedule. I then Created a query called WorkSchedule Query.
- The column labels are as follows (listed from right to left): Project, Event (something inside of the project), Employee1, Employee2, StartDate, EndDate
- I created a split form that shows each record.
- On each record I made the employee1, and employee2 as a drop down box that allows you to pick from all employees.
*MY QUESTION*
How do I make a pop up form appear when there is a conflicting date based on the employee I picked?
For example: If I had assigned Rebecca to an event that went on from 11/12/2014 - 11/14/2014. Then I tried to assign her to another event from 11/13/2104-11/15/2014. I want a pop up message saying that these dates conflict.

I am trying to "silently" send an email if for instance an event is trigger. In this case, if the amount of X is less to the amount of Y then send an email to remind me to buy more from product X.
I will be using Outlook for this matter.
The .Body should read something like "Your reserves from "Product X" are reaching its minimum. Please buy more of it"...

I have a query in a subform on the main form. I have a search box that updates the subform/query as you type something (using the On Change event). You then click on the record you want which transfers the information to the appropriate text boxes (one of these txt boxes is the clientID I talk about below) located next to the search box.
I have a Contacts subform/query much like the serarch box I created and I am using a txt box (on the main frm) clientID (which I get from the above process) to filter the contacts. Now when I pass the ID to the txt box on the main form I am having trouble getting a event to trigger and update the subform/query correctly.
I am using VBA to create a simulated Click action which seems to work but is not updating the Contact subform/query, it is just resetting the subform/query. If I manually click on the txtbox with a ID in there all works wonderfully. I have attached the database. I made the clientID and btn next to it visible(this would not be visible normally).I just realised I left a button on the main form next to the clientID txt box just ignore that and click on a client then the clientID txt box to see how it updates the contacts subform..

how to return all values in a query when a form critieria is left blank. I have made some progress, the combo box criteria queries were fairly simple, but i'm getting stuck with my date criteria. My query doesn't return null values when I want it to.
I want it to return all records (including null values) if the form OpenFrom and OpenTo dates are blank, and just the values between the selected dates (excluding null values) if the form is completed.
Code:
SELECT qryReportSelector2_Authority.*, qryReportSelector2_Authority.ApplicationDate AS ApplicationDateFilter
FROM qryReportSelector2_Authority
WHERE (((qryReportSelector2_Authority.ApplicationDate) Between Nz([Forms]![frmReportSelector]![OpenFromDate],DMin("[ApplicationDate]","[qryAllCases]")) And Nz([Forms]![frmReportSelector]![OpenToDate],DMax("[ApplicationDate]","[qryAllCases]"))));

I'm creating an equipment hire database, and I was wondering how I would not permit overlaps of equipment hire ie. equipment being borrowed before it is returned. I have a query that lists all bookings that overlap, but I am unsure of how to implement this into the table to prevent overlaps.
The SQL for the query is as follows:
SELECT Bookings.[Booking ID], Bookings.[Instrument ID], Bookings.[Borrow Date], Bookings.[Return Date], Bookings_1.[Booking ID], Bookings_1.[Instrument ID], Bookings_1.[Borrow Date], Bookings_1.[Return Date], ([Bookings_1].[Borrow Date]>[Bookings].[Return Date]) Or ([Bookings_1].[Return Date]<[Bookings].[Borrow Date]) Or ([Bookings].[Instrument ID]<>[Bookings_1].[Instrument ID]) Or ([Bookings].[Booking ID]=[Bookings_1].[Booking ID])

I have a table called Contacts in Access:
ID Email
001 email1
002 email2
003 email3
004 email4
008 email5
010 email6
And I have a table called Data in Access:
ID Date Person Title Yes/No Action
001 20/4 Mr A Consultant
001 20/4 Mr B Supervisor
001 20/4 Mr C Consultant
004 20/4 Mr D Consultant
010 20/4 Mr E Consultant
010 20/4 Mr F Supervisor
What I'm looking for is coding that would start with the first ID number in CONTACTS and see if there is the corresponding ID in DATA. If there is, then I want it to create an Outlook email and have:
1.To field populated with the email address in the CONTACTS table
2.From and CC fields to be my email address
3.The subject line needs to read [ID] "Request" and then today's date backward (e.g. 20150420).
4.The body I need to put some generic wording and then a table with the records from the DATA table (first 5 fields plus the headings).
5. The format of the table etc isn't important as long as it is a table format
If it's created the email I want it to go back to the DATA table and put "Email Created" in the Action column for those IDs.
I don't want the email to automatically send; I only want it to create a draft (as this data needs to be manually confirmed before sending).
If for example it gets to checking in DATA table for ID 002 (and as seen there's none there), I want it to skip creating the email and move on to the next ID.
In the end I would expect to see 3 draft emails open in Outlook ready to be sent, looking something like the below (just 001 below)?
From... my email
To... Email1
CC... my email
Subject: 001 Request 20150420
action the below:
ID Date Person Title Yes/No
001 20/4 Mr A Consultant
001 20/4 Mr B Supervisor
001 20/4 Mr C Consultant
And the DATA table look like this (if only 001 email was created):
ID Date Person Title Yes/No Action
001 20/4 Mr A Consultant Email created
001 20/4 Mr B Supervisor Email created
001 20/4 Mr C Consultant Email created
004 20/4 Mr D Consultant
010 20/4 Mr E Consultant
010 20/4 Mr F Supervisor
I will need to add more data to the CONTACTS table over time, also the DATA table will be different each day so I need the coding to accomodate for both of these possibilities.

I have an Access database update process that is run from the Win7 scheduler. I have attempted to instantiate or reference Outlook and send an email indicating the status of the process.
Outlook fails for some reason, but it works fine interactively regardless of whether Outlook is running or not.
I am now thinking of trying SendObject instead.

with the linking tables thing to outlook can it be reversed. ie if i have a table that was linked to outlook outbox would the records form an email just like the emails from my inbox form a record.
i wanting to send emails automatically to many recipients. so i would have to use a record set and i thought that if i build the email in a record then have outlook pick it up then that would be the easiest way.

Is there a way to auto populate a table or form in Access from an Outlook email? For instance, if I send a survey via email and the survey is taken and sent back via email is there a way to have that data auto fill into the database or will the info need to be manually data entered?

I'm working on an access database and I need to connect that database to the reminder function of Outlook.
At first, I set the reminder precisely six months before the due date, everything was okay and the reminder worked. But after some revision required by my supervisor, I need to set the reminder based on month (not exactly on the due date), so the tasks which have due dates in the same month will be wrapped into a single reminder. The reminder also should be appear in every two weeks. Here's the code I've been worked on :
Code:
Private Sub Expired_AfterUpdate()
Dim outLookApp As Outlook.Application
Dim outLookTask As Outlook.TaskItem
Set outLookApp = CreateObject("outlook.application")
Set outLookTask = outLookApp.CreateItem(olTaskItem)
[Code]...
I put this code on the AfterUpdate event in the column containing the due date. How should I rearrange the code so it would be able for the reminder to appear based on the month? (just consider that the reminder will be active six months before due date).

At the moment though it is adding the information to the default calendar and not ANOTHER FOLDER. I'm just testing at the moment but I have tried all manner of combination but no dice.
Code:
'Error 429 occurs with GetObject if Outlook is not running.
On Error Resume Next
Set objOutlook = GetObject(, "Outlook.Application")
If Err.Number = 429 Then 'Outlook is NOT running.

I'm running the following servers:
1. A Windows Server 2008 with MSEXCHANGE
2. A Windows Server 2008 with Terminal Server - my MSAccess database FE & BE is installed on this server.
3. Both servers are on the same LAN network.
4. The APPOINTMENT BOOK is in the MSAccess database and i have add the the idividual MAILBOXES in my tblEmployees.
5. I want the employees to make their appointments in the APPOINTMENT BOOK (4 above) and then the appointment must also be inserted/displayed in the employees MSOutlook calendar.
6. This works fine when the employees MSOutlook is open on the Terminal Server (2 above).
this will in effect mean that we need to open all users (emplyees) MSOutlook on the Terminal Server to insert the appointments from the MSAccess database into the MSOutlook calendar.I should think that there must be a way to insert the appointments from the MSAccess database into MSOutlook without opening all the the users MSOutlook on Terminal Server?

I want to use Access to collect data for our research department. I have created a number of forms to assist the department in collecting data. I created a query with all the fields from the relevant tables to be used to collect the data. I used the option Collect and Update data via email to generate the form for collecting the data and emailed the form to myself for testing (gmail account), however, I cannot edit any of the fields.

My manager wants to be able to implement a kind of punch card system for managing staff time. I'm thinking we could make a database that links to a folder in Outlook. Staff will be able to send an email to the inbox saying that they are, for example, going on a break at 10:50, and then another at 11:05 saying they have returned and are back to work.
This would probably add up to around 500 emails per day with the number of staff we have, so I don't want to have to keep all the emails to be able to add up break times etc.
I'll be extracting the timestamps, name, break description etc from the email and storing them in another table. What I would like to know is whether Access would then be able to delete the email from the inbox (or modify it in some way to reflect it has been accounted for), or whether this would have to be a manual task?
