I am unable to print the progress bar of the syscmd, I have tried checning the progressbar too under the startup. When I put a debug point, it goes to that area and loops through it, by printing it in the immediate window, debug.print.
I have even put a msgbox, to see whether it is popping up, yes it does.I have tried Application.syscmd and syscmd, here I am gonna paste the coding.
Option Compare Database
Option Explicit
Public Sub ProgressMeterModule()
Dim db As DAO.Database
Dim rs As DAO.Recordset
I want to display the message "Processing Record ? of ???..." on the screen while my vba code is running without interruption. Since the msgbox requires the user to click a button to continue, what is the simplest way to display this message on the screen without interrupting the program or requiring user interaction?
I have a report that is based on a query I have made. It currently shows the values as kept in the table. It is for a MAR sheet. Here is how it looks...
Breakfast 0 Lunch 0 Teatime 2 Bedtime 1
I want it to show blank for each 0 that is shown. I have tried an Iif statement to do this but it doesn't seem to work.
Value 1 which is the number of working Employees and Value 2 which is the total number of Employees
Both are subject to change but my main problem is that Value 2 (Total of Employees) i want to display as 100% in a chart and Value 1 is the percentage of employees utilized.
I have the calculation working fine (Value 1/Value 2).
But if for example i have 35 employees as Value 2, how do i make that show as 100% in the chart?
I get things like 35 or 3500%?
I have played about endlessly changing values etc but just cant get it.
I have a drop down list to select a committee, but my list is only showing half of the list. There's no scroll bar, and when I try typing in one of the others, it tells me it's not on the list and asks if I would like to edit the list. When I select edit the list, it shows all of them.
I have a combo box to show bring up the cost of my products .Although it shows the correct prices in the combo box ,when i select the cost it posts an entirely different cost in the appropriate field. It seems to be posting the product id number with £ sign in front of it
I have a split database, a front for data entry and of course the back end with all the tables. I have created several Append queries to move records from one table to another (from Applicants to Students, once they are Accepted). The queries work - when I go into the tables and look, there's the data right where I told it to go. But when I open the Students input form (which draws from the destination table), the new data doesn't show up. I double-checked the destination table, and yes, the appended data is all there.
I tried running the simply query that populates the input form, and it doesn't show up in the simple query, either. I've tried Refreshing everything numerous times, tried updating the Linked Table Manager numerous times, opened and closed the program, and no dice - the data is in the table but never shows up in the simple query that populates the data input form. There's no filters on the simple query, so everything in the table should show up - but doesn't.
I created a table called weld_performance. it consist weld_id, weld_prod, total_rt, accepted, rejected, and rejection rate. from weld_prod until rejection rate, the type data is number. the rejection rate field size is Single, and Format is Percent.
Based on this table, i create a query called query1. and based on this query1, i create a chart. please see attachment pic001. as you can see the data label on the chart is showing 0.66667. but in my query1, the value is 67%. if i click the value (67%) it's change to 0.66667.
So I guess, the chart is read the 0.66667 value from the query. now what i want to ask is, how can my chart data label is shown 67% instead of 0.66667 ??
I have a listbox on a form that looks up a table to to allow me to pick a stock location. The table only has 2 colums in it, the Primary Key Field (ID) and the Store location. When using this in a a form instead of getting the Stores Location, all I get is the ID. I have tried changing the Bound Volumn Value and the Column Count Fields, however no change.
I have generated a report in acviewreport, after viewing the details I want to save the report as a pdf file with the client name, invoice number and date. In the report design view I added a cmd button and successfully coded it. However, it saves the report WITH the cmd button showing. I don't want this button saved. Is it possible to remove the button from the report AFTER I have clicked it?
I applied conditional formatting to a subform in a form and it works fine. The screen dispaly is showing the highlights but the print privew does not. It does not matter which printer I select.
I've recently moved up to Access 2013 (from Access 2010) and everything went well, until one day my splash screen was blank and the program had empty fields...after seeing that all the links to the BE were OK, I re-booted and everything worked fine....until the next day the same thing happened...... The program randomly falls over about once or twice a week and I have to re-boot to cure it.....
My splash screen has a standard dlookup ( [=DLookUp("Banner","tblCompanyInfo")] ) to display the active company name...and sometimes its populated and other times its not..... if its not populated then loads of other fields on the forms are also blank - even if they point to valid data in the database!
I run Win7 (both 32 and 64bit) with Access 2013 32bit on three PC's - same problem on all!
Is it all possible to create the equivalent of a combo chart in Excel in Access?
What I need is a graph showing a certain dataset as columns but also a line showing the average for that set.
As an example lets take an exercise programme in a school, each child performs a series of exercises every week and data is recorded, to monitor their fitness progression.
Lets say I wanted to show a graph of one particular exercise, with the class students listed along the x axis, and then show the class average for that exercise dataset as a line on the same graph.
I have a work order system that people use but it somewhat randomly puts blank records into my table. I've added a lot of validation checks when submitting, closing and resetting the form and limited the way people can exit out of the form to fight this issue but it still happens.
I have some querys and macro command. All that executed just one click button. Now I need to set a Progress Bar with percentage option over all the process.
All the query and macro commands executed behind the progress bar till the 100%.
I have a report with quite a few subreports in it. There are a number of calculated fields on the form, most of which use Dlookup to retrieve at least one of the figures required for the calculation. The Dlookup runs fine and the report opens but the calculated fields are devoid of data in Report view. When I switch to Print Preview view the fields are now populated. Below are two variations of the DLookup syntax I have used to try and alleviate this issue.
=DLookUp("[8]","qry_MonthlyTotalsByYearFirstAid","[ActivityType] = 'First Aid Injury (FAC) Reported in Safeguard'")/[sub_AllHours].[Report].[8]
=DLookUp("[8]","qry_MonthlyTotalsByYearFirstAid","[ActivityType] = 'First Aid Injury (FAC) Reported in Safeguard'")/[Reports]![rpt_AllFigures]![sub_AllHours]![8]
Note that the field [8] specified here is simply a month number and forms a column in the crosstab query for the corresponding query name.
I would add the query referred to in the DLookup to the source query for the report but the source report's data is derived from a Crosstab query, which only accepts one data field (Access terms this as the value field.
I have a form with a man that does carwheels across the form with the message please wait, i have been trying to get this to run while my other form loads and cant get it to work :( either the please wait screen freezes and doesnt do anything till the other screen has loaded... or I have to load the please wait screen and then use a button with continue on it for it to then action opening the second form which is the one that takes the time... either way I am stuck with a frozen screen....... where am I going wrong?
Hi, I am new to Access Forum and I have a very easy question: I need to show a Progress Meter in a Form whilst my Dbase is running a Macro containing several Queries - these Queries are Delete, Append etc and finally a MsgBox.
Any ideas on How to do a Progess meter whilst the Macro is running??
I have developed several applications in code which take anywhere from 15-30 minutes to run, depending on the amount of data and local server traffic. I would like my clients to be able to tell that their process is actually running through some kind of "percentage complete" status bar or progress indicator, rather than their computer sitting there with an hourglass visible for what seems like forever. I would like to set this up where it runs from the form which triggers the code or the like.....any easy way to set this up or any code repository make this easier?
Hi, I have a report and I am doing some SQL stuff at the back end on the report open. This takes a little time and I want to show the user that its working and I want to prevent him from double clicking the report again. So is there any way to show a progress dialog or something so that the user knows that the list is being built? Thanks in advance! Adwait
I have a form that, when I press a button it loads another form. The second form takes about 20-25 seconds to load due to the fact that the (split)DB is running over a network, and the form itself has many fields on it. I'm thinking that my users will think that their computer is locked up and keep closing out of the DB. I would like to add a progress meter or percent meter so the user will at least see that something is happening. Has anyone ever programmed one of these things, and if so, could you please give me some insight? Thanks.
I'm struggling with a very formal, not to say aesthetic, problem on one of my form used as a progress bar.
This form is very simple, it contains only one unbound control that is called "Percentage".
It displays the percentage of completion, when launching a report based on a somewhat "heavy" crosstab query (lots of records, etc.).
Anyway, the goal is to inform the user that the report is being processed, so that he knows wether he has time to get a coffee, or whatever he wants (the process may take as long as 2 or 3 mn).
As far as code is concerned, the variant "Percentage" is simply incremented in a loop included in the report design code, and refreshes the value of the "Percentage" control displayed in my form.
Everything works fine, except that I can't figure out a way to get rid of the cursor that stays in the unbound control : in fact, the percentage is displayed in reverse video, since the cursor focuses on the control at every iteration. Which gives my "progress bar" form quite an ugly look, and makes it difficult to read, whereas besides this "bug" it is perfectly satisfying.
On frmDatabaseStwitcher, the code for Progress Bar is: Option Compare Database Option Explicit Private Declare Sub sapiSleep Lib "kernel32" _ Alias "Sleep" _ (ByVal dwMilliseconds As Long)
[code]...
This code is working in two ways:
If I go with "SetProgressBar n / NOS" then progress bar shows 2% and then connecting process time. Or If I go with "SetProgressBar n + NOS" then progress works till 100% but then connecting process time. Also SetProgressBar (n / NOS) * 100 but then connecting process time.
