General :: Query To Calculate Points Based On Dates
Jul 1, 2015
I am trying to create an attendance database, our company introducing the point system attendance,
Called Off (CO) 2 points
Left Early (LE) 1 Point
Tardy (Tar) 1 point
Employee can reduce point if they have perfect attendance for 90 days from the last day of violation. For example, an employee absent on 01/01/2015, he will received 2 points, the credit will giving on 04/01/2015, if there is no violation, but if he absent again on 03/31/2015 not only he will received 2 more points his 90 days will start from 03/31/2015, now he will eligible to get credit on 06/29/2015 and so on.So far I have created 3 tables and 1 query.
Tables
Employees: Id, Last Name, First Name
Points: Id, Description Points
Attendance:Id, Date, Employee ID, Points ID
Query
Date
Employee ID
Last Name
First Name
Point Description
Points
how and which formula to use which calculate the points based on above example.
Was wondering if it is possible to create a query or another method that would calculate future dates based on inputted info ?
For example a person inputs on a form a date completed (06/14/07) and then also selects a frequency of when this has to be revisited....monthly, quarterly, semi-annually.
So based on the date completed that the person inputs I'm trying to get the date if they select monthly of 7/14/07 (using above date example).
I've been trying to solve this problem for the past month and at the verge of destroying my PC! I've trawled through numerous web sites but just cant seem to figure this one out.I'm trying to get access to tell me what the next service moth is based on the start date, end date, and the frequency of service.
For example:
Start date: 01/01/2014 End date: 31/12/2015
service frequency: Every 4 months
Using the above information the service months are: 1 - April 2014 2 - August 2014 3 - December 2014 4 - April 2015 5 - August 2015 6 - December 2015
I have a query that has some reminder dates. 10 days before an event and 5 days after. I was wondering if it would be feasible to create an outlook reminder based on the query and if so how would I go about it?
I am trying to calculate a value based on comparing the current date to the dates in these fields. I am using the below formula. However, using 6/27/2013 as the current date, my formula keeps resulting in "Bronze" when it should result in "Standard" Am I doing something wrong?
=IIf(Date()<[Bronze],"Standard",IIf((Date()>=[Bronze]) And (Date()<[Silver]),"Bronze",IIf(Date()>=[Silver] And Date()<[Gold],"Silver",IIf(Date()>=[Gold] And Date()<[Platinum],"Gold","Platinum"))))
I'm trying to build a query with an iif statement to calculate expiration dates within a query. For some reason what i'm trying to do is not working as expected.
Here's the situation. Every employees with an exception of two employees in the company has an expiration 2 years after the class took place. The two exceptions are the certified instructors who's training certification is good for three years.
I've created a query with the employeeid, training subject, and maxoftraining date.
I'm trying to write an if statement to give me the expiration date based on the above information. Here's what I have so far; however its not calculating based on the criteria.
Expiration: IIf([tblemployee]![EmpID]=1 Or 2,DateAdd("yyyy",3,[maxoftrainingdate]),DateAdd("yyyy",2,[maxoftrainingdate]))
At this point in time, all "expiration" dates are showing + 3 years rather than just the Employee ID's 1 and 2 and the rest +2 years.
Basically I have a report that shows any 'Issues' that wasnt closed within the KPI Target.
I have the report working, but I simply want to do a count of how many days the observations overran the 'Target Date of Closure'.
The report also shows observations that are not closed but passed their Target Date of Closure. These observations will not have a 'Actual Closure Date', but I would like to still have a count of how many days its overrun closure.
This is a formula I tried to piece together but obviously not correct as it's not returning anything;
IIf(IsNull([Issues]![Actual Closure Date]),DateDiff("d",[Issues]![Target Date of Closure], Date()),DateDiff("d",[Issues]![Target Date of Closure],[Issues]![Actual Closure Date]))
I have built a query to calculate the expiry dates of training courses but I am trying to input a criteria so that only dates within 90 days of todays date show. I am using Date()<90 but it doesn't return the correct information. What the criteria should be for this?
- I currently have a table that is labeled WorkSchedule. I then Created a query called WorkSchedule Query.
- The column labels are as follows (listed from right to left): Project, Event (something inside of the project), Employee1, Employee2, StartDate, EndDate
- I created a split form that shows each record.
- On each record I made the employee1, and employee2 as a drop down box that allows you to pick from all employees.
*MY QUESTION*
How do I make a pop up form appear when there is a conflicting date based on the employee I picked?
For example: If I had assigned Rebecca to an event that went on from 11/12/2014 - 11/14/2014. Then I tried to assign her to another event from 11/13/2104-11/15/2014. I want a pop up message saying that these dates conflict.
I have a Table with a Field set to Number, Single, Fixed, 2 Decimal points in which I enter Hours (ie 11.25) then at some point I want to extract those new entries to create a Text file transfer.
I have a Macro which extracts those new entries from the main Table and copies/appends them to a new Table which contains only the new data I need to create the File to upload into a Payroll system (using TransferText option).
It all works well EXCEPT, the File it creates insists on showing 8 decimal points and I just cannot get it to show 2 only.I have tried using a calculated field, setting the secondary Table field to Text.why or where these 8 decimals are coming from.
Does your Tools Reference have an MS Office 15.0 Object Library?
Just had to share this strange occurrence in the VB Code Module:
I use breakpoints all the time, was just using them yesterday.
Noticed that some events seemed to act differently this morning. The front-end was approaching 88 MB (after compress) so it is time for a change anyway.
Created a new blank Access dB (Access 2010) and imported all objects from my last backup revision. Reset the home page and tools References. Matched the settings side by side. As usual, the database shrank from 88 MB to 60 MB. The import all objects will usually compress things about this much.
From the screen shot, put breakpoints in previous code, added a new Lost-focus event and added a message box. None of the breakpoints work. The message box fires on the lost_focus and all of the code in the Click event works fine. But, not a single break point would work.
Totally powered down and restarted the Windows 7 32 bit Enterprise workstation. Still no change.
Took the screen shot of Tool-References from the code module of a two week old archive version. Used it to evaluate my new imported object database. To my surprise, the Microsoft Office 14.0 Object library is now Microsoft Office 15.0 Object Library. Also put all the objects back in the same order. Saved and closed the new imported object database. Now, the breakpoints work just fine.
I had failed to reference the Office 15 Object Library and the VBA Extensibility 5.Office 14 Object Library is nowhere to be found except on my 2 week old backup archive.
Is this a Microsoft auto update? Is this what drives the breakpoint in the code module?
I run a service related company and I am trying to develop a service database that will automatically calculate the next service due based on the previous service date, the catch is that the service need to happen on the same week day. i.e. if the last service was on Friday 02-08-2013 and it is a monthly service, the next service is due on Friday 06-09-2013. Is there any way that this can be done? PS there are various service periods such as bi-weekly, weekly, 2 weekly, monthly, 2 monthly etc.
I have created a database that records the scores of each player etc and puts them in league table like structure.
Within this database which I would like to extend I would like to know if its possible to have a query to calculate a league table for the teams if home team overal score is greater than away team home team get 2 points for win 1 for draw no points of loss and same if away team won.I also want to be able to change it to a web database and add club address details like contact list to it.
I am trying to write a function in an access 2007 query that will calculate the date range for each of my records based on the month-ending date and the In-transit days assigned to each record (excluding any weekend days) (i.e. if the in-transit days number is 5 & the month ending date is 5/26/12 then my date range would be 5/22/12-5/25/12). I want the funtion to calculate the range, I cannot use parameters as each record will have a different range based on it's in-transit days .
I would like to create an Access Database that calculate due date based on 2 tables, one with invoices and supplier details. The other one with Supplier name et payment terms.
Input: Table with the following details: - Supplier Name - Invoice Date - Currency - Amount
Output: Table same as input but with a column that shows for each record the Due Date. The due date would be calculated by adding payment terms in days from another table to the Invoice date.
I have a database that I need to calculate a query that is based on 3 dates. For example...I have an admission date and a discharge date in my database.
If there is no date in the discharge date then I need it to calculate the number of days between the admission date and "today's date." If there is a discharge date then I need to calculate the difference between admission date and discharge date.
Basically i need a length of stay figure. I can figure the formula in excel but cannot get it to work in access. Here is my formula in excel
I wrote a basic query that allows 1 field to search another, and if there is a match, it spits it out, however, I am getting 20,000 matches. I want to add another level of query to reduce the 20,000 matches down to 1 or 2 or none...
So I consolidated a government list, publicly available, into 1 field, and created a table that I can use as my query against the large government list:
SELECT [Consolidated Denied Party Report].*, [Consolidated Denied Party Report].[31] FROM [Consolidated Denied Party Report] WHERE ((([Consolidated Denied Party Report].[31]) Like "*" & [Please Enter Your Search Term] & "*"));
this allows me to search for a word, like, create, and it gives me every single result however it also gives me hits to words like PROcreate, which is fine on one hand because it shows possible false flags, but it would be nice to also be able to query down a level.
I now want to have the query look at the word "create" but also look at another column that is say the country... Germany.. and if I have text in the second column, only give me a result if the word create and germany are in the same field.. if create and Italy were in the same field, it would not be a hit.
I am woking on a project full of nightmares. My latest, and the one I am currently unable to solve, involves trying to calculate the number of days between Billing Dates.
I have a table named "Date" - I didn't design this! It contains a field named "Date"
If I query for just that Field I get the following: Date 9/8/2005 8/8/2005 7/8/2005 6/8/2005 5/9/2005 ...
I need to figure out a way to determine the number of days between the bills so I can calculate the average cost per day.
It seems like it should be an easy thing using like the datediff function or something, but since they are in separate records (rows), I can't figure it out. I have tried and tried and tried.
I have a database with 10-12 fields containing dates certain things were completed. There is also a field for the 3 different locations we have and a program year 2006, 2007, or 2008. What they would like to do is click a button and get a list to choose the first date they which to compare, then a list to choose the second date, calculate the number of days between the two dates, select the program year from a list, and a location from a list. Can anyone help me with how to do this if it's possible?
The fields look something like this:
Prog Year Location DateA Date B DateC DateE 2006 G date date date date 2006 G date date date date 2006 P date date date date 2008 D date date date date 2007 P date date date date
For Example, I might want 2006 Program Year, Location P, calculating days between DateA and DateB, except that the next time I might want to choose a different set of criteria.
I'm trying to create a sub to count how many days between 2 dates excluding Holiday and weekend. Using the DateDiff() function is not allowing me to exclude certain days.
The below function returns correct time difference between workdays. However, it is excluding Saturday as per the code.
It is calculating 06:30 am to 22:00 pm time for weekdays but I also want it to calculate the time from 10:00 to 13:30 on a Saturday.
I am trying to use the NetworkMinutes function to achieve this. However, there is a problem getting the time for Saturday.
Code: Option Compare Database Option Explicit '--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ' Procedure : NetWorkMinutes ' Author : Rod ' Date : 13/12/2012 ' Purpose : Returns the number of work minutes between two date-time arguments.
how to return all values in a query when a form critieria is left blank. I have made some progress, the combo box criteria queries were fairly simple, but i'm getting stuck with my date criteria. My query doesn't return null values when I want it to.
I want it to return all records (including null values) if the form OpenFrom and OpenTo dates are blank, and just the values between the selected dates (excluding null values) if the form is completed.
Code: SELECT qryReportSelector2_Authority.*, qryReportSelector2_Authority.ApplicationDate AS ApplicationDateFilter FROM qryReportSelector2_Authority WHERE (((qryReportSelector2_Authority.ApplicationDate) Between Nz([Forms]![frmReportSelector]![OpenFromDate],DMin("[ApplicationDate]","[qryAllCases]")) And Nz([Forms]![frmReportSelector]![OpenToDate],DMax("[ApplicationDate]","[qryAllCases]"))));
I have searched the forum for this answer but no luck. :(
I'm trying to calculate the amount of WORKING time between two dates in an Access database. At the moment i am just subtracting one date from another but this gives me all of the time in between including weekends and evenings.
I need this time to be calculated in hours.
In Excel i know there is a NETWORKINGDAYS function which does something similar but with days rather than hours.
At least if i could get the working days i could then convert it into hours.
