View RepliesI am sending an email using SendObject. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it makes the computer freeze up with no error message. I have tried this with Outlook running or not running, seems to make no difference.
Code:
'The sub procedure below sends e-mail in response to a click on the Send button.
Private Sub SendMessagesButton_Click()
'For Access, define some object variables and make connections.
Dim myConnection As ADODB.Connection
Set myConnection = CurrentProject.Connection
Dim myRecordSet As New ADODB.Recordset
myRecordSet.ActiveConnection = myConnection
[Code] ....
I have added some MsgBox () to narrow down where it crashes. It is after 'Five' and Before 'Six'. On the line:
Set appOutlookRecip = .Recipients.Add(eMailAddress)
I am mystified as to why it works OK sometimes, and not others. The email address being used is valid.
I have a form that records data entered by a user who I then want to email the record via a report run from a query.
I created a command button on the form with DoCmd.SendObject acSendReport,"name_of_report", "format", "to","subject", False
The email program (Lotus Notes) opens a new email msg with the report attached as pdf. However, the data recorded does not appear.
with the linking tables thing to outlook can it be reversed. ie if i have a table that was linked to outlook outbox would the records form an email just like the emails from my inbox form a record.
i wanting to send emails automatically to many recipients. so i would have to use a record set and i thought that if i build the email in a record then have outlook pick it up then that would be the easiest way.
Our database is in access 2003. It has a form which has a button to send email of orders. I added a new user in this database. That button works in all other computers in the network with the same user permissions as this user, in his computer when he select to email Order it does nothing. It does not open the new email page in outlook and the outlook email is configured in his computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I send an email from Access with SendObject, how does it determine the user name, the 'from' name. Is it just the user's Outlook name? Do I have any control over that?
View 1 Replies View Related have a vba code written to have my MS Access 2007 tell Outlook to send an e-mail with several attachments to whom it may concern, but I need it to change the "From" field in the e-mail, because there's many people who can send this, but it's looking like it's all being sent as my user. This is the code, it all works, but it doesn't change the sender field. Should I make some sort of auto-login macro or something?

I searched the forums, I downloaded sample datbases EmailA2K, example, and PrintCurrentRecord_Update however I cannot get my command button to fill the TO: with my customer email address. I have gotten lost in the code so I went with a send object macro. Maybe it's my internet service. I use Compu Serv which is a by-product of AOL. Can that be the problem? Anyway I don't understand code, I wish I did. I select send object as my action in my macro. I leave the object type and object name blank as well as the output format. In the To: I put = [email address]. In the subject I put "From CG" and the Edit Message is set as "no". When I click on the button it opens up my email provider but nothing is in the To:. I first tried to fill in the Object name and type and format and it attached the records in the form, I DO NOt want to do that. All I want is to have the Email Address be filled in the To: by clicking a button. I'm about 8 hours on this and a little on edge. I would like to get a good nights rest and not think asbout this anymore. Any Macro help would be great.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHello all:
Right now, I have a contact database with email addresses, and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to implement a command button that when I click on it, it will do the action as clicking on a link that says
mailto:anyone@anyone.com
If I type the mailto: before the email address, and click on it, it will open the email message window, but I am looking for a way to have the user click on a button and then it opens the email message window.
My field for the email is fldEmail
any suggestions?

I have set up a work order database. On the Work Order Submission form I have
a command button that adds the record to the table. I also have a button to
email the Submission Report. When the user fills out the form and clicks the
Add button the record is added to the table. The user then has to scroll to
have the record reappear in the form and then click the Email command button.
This works fine but I want to make this a one click operation.
I have a filter on the report that will be emailed to limit the report to just the current
record. The filter is:
[ID] = Forms![WO Submission]![ID]
where ID is the Primary Key for that record. If the record has not yet been
added to the table and thus has no primary key, the report to be emailed
will contain no record info.
I'm thinking I may have to use a temporary table but I'm clueless about how
to make that work.
Any suggestions?
I'm working on a vacation/time off tracker and was hoping to use the collect data feature. I've created a form where a user submits their requested date and number of hours, at which point I'd like the form to be sent to their manager for approval. The manager's email address is stored in a table. Once the manager marks yes or no, I'd like that reflected in the time off requests table, and an email sent to the requester letting them know if it was approved or not. Is this possible? How would I go about it. I'm pretty new to Access, learning on the fly, but I'm pretty good at modifying code to match my situation/working backwards if you have any examples for me to look at.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLike the title says I need a command button to print preview and email two reports. I tried using macros but the problem I have is that it'll send out two emails instead of one email with two attachments. The other problem is that it won't recognize current pages information so it'll show two blank reports. But If I go to next record and come back in form view, it reognizes the changes and the reports look fine. Any help would be appreciated.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a form and housed in the form is a combo box that pulls info from managers I work with. I want to create a command button that I can click to send them an email. I have their information tabled and then have also converted that table into a form. I have their email address I just need to know how to properly code the command. I have no visual basic experience. I have had classes where I've coded in C++ and HTML but very limited.
Thanks
A command button on a form that can:
1- Open the Report called : ConsentForm
2- Print it to PDF printer (report is currently defaulted to that printer driver)
3- Save to folder: C:SOSConsentForms
4- Save as: Consent_[Last]_[First] (these are field names on the form)
Result i.e.: C:SOSConsentFormsConsent_Doe_John
5- Then send the file by email (Outlook) to : abc@hotmail.com
I am trying to figure out how to make a button that sends an email to a specific email address, containing the information from 1 row.
we have rows where we put the the address, the quantity and the time interval we can collect the packages in. these information have to be send to a trucking company. I am currently using vb code to send an email in Access on the click of a button. I want the database user to be able to enter the recipient in a text box [ToEmail] which is on form [GroupStockProfiler]. However, I'm unsure how to put this into my code. I currently have the following which doesn't work (unless I put a specific email after 'To'):
Private Sub Command414_Click()
Const cdoSendUsingPickup = 1
Const cdoSendUsingPort = 2
Const cdoAnonymous = 0
[code]...
How do you make both the text and the icon visible on a command button? If the 'Picture' propery is set, I can't see the text.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHi all,
I'd like to change the colour of the text in a command button when the user click the button, but for the text to return to it's original colour when the botton pops back up.
I'm assuming you use the following commands:
Private Sub cmdClose_MouseDown(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single)
*******CODE********
End Sub
Private Sub cmdClose_MouseUp(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single)
*******CODE********
End Sub
But I'm not sure as to how I would enter the correct code.
Any help would be appreciated,
Best Regards,
Aaron

When a command button is onfocus, how do I make it bold or a different color and when it's not onfocus to return to it's default format? I know that this is possible with text boxes but I don't know how to do it with command buttons.
Please help. Thank you!
I have 2 text boxes and 1 push button for each text box for input to table. When I click on 'SaveInput1' only Input1 is save onto the Table and when 'SaveInput2' is click only Input2 is save. I want each command button to save each input separately.
I know ACCESS have a SAVE RECORD function, but I do not want to use this because it will save the entire record all at once.
TextBox1 = Input1
TextBox2 = Input2
Commandbutton1 = SaveInput1
Commandbutton2 = SaveInput2
I would like to make a command button to change the font in a text field on a form.
Can any one give me an example of the code that I would use to do this? I would greatly appriciat it.

I have have a form with 4 subforms in it, one of the subforms is based on a filtered query . For a reason I can not work out I cannot get it to requery when I add a new record.
To add a new record I select from a combo box and use a command button to save the record
I have tried using this in the buttons on click event
Code:
Forms.trialcatalogueF!TrialCompetitorsSF!competitorsSF.Form.Requery
with no result, however it does kinda work in the combo's after update event, just not until I select another value.
