General :: Tabbed Form - Displaying Filtered Subform

Dec 5, 2013

I've attached a link below:

Basically, its a database for an entertainments agency, I've got a form for 'Artists' which shows the performers on the agencies books. I've tabbed the form so one screen shows the artist details and I want the second screen to show the bookings that the specific artist has.

I've linked to the 'bookings' table on the subform successfully, but I can't figure out how to filter it so it just shows the bookings that the specific artist showed has.

i.e.: I want it so that The Deltatones booking tab ONLY shows the deltatones bookings.

Here's the dropbox link : [URL] .....

Displaying A Filtered List

Dec 5, 2006

Help !! - Can anyone help. I have had a quick look through the previous threads and can't seem to find anything that may help me. Has anyone got any ideas.

I have a table which has many columns, one of these columns is called actions. On the design of the table, the action column is a Text Datatype and on the lookup tab the row source is a typed in list of actions.

A form has been created from this one table. A drop down box has been created which looks at the action column and so drops down to give us our typed in list of actions.

Users will select the current action from the drop down list.

What I actually want to do is depending on what the current selected action is, that the drop down box only shows a subset / filtered list of actions.

I know how this is designed is not the tidiest/slickest way of doing things, But unfortunately, I have inherited this from someone else who has been running the database this way for over 6 years !!

Main Form With Filtered Continuous Subform

Oct 31, 2006

Hi, all...

Sure hoping someone can help me with this. I have a main form with a continuous subform. I am trying to filter the subform "behavior" combo box with another combo box on the subform "learningtype". The subform filter works fine if only the subform is open, although I can't add records because it would require a record in the main form. However, now that I've added the subform to the mainform, when I open it it asks for the parameter value of the filter combo box on the subform. Can someone help me, please...I'm desperate. I'm attaching a sample for you to look at.

Thanks, gurus!!

Forms :: Existing Data In Field Of Subform Also Filtered By Combo Box On Main Form

Mar 7, 2014

I have a form with subform (datasheet) .

On my subform i have one field which shows the

productId ( which is filtered from combo boxes on main form) .
productId contains two columns
1 bound column(id) ( hidden with width 0 )
2 column (desription) ( shown with width 2 )

Now after entering the data when i come back to the form again . It hides the data from the productId field on subform , because data in combo box (on main form) doesn't match. Although the row is showing up , only the text in field (productId) is hidden.

Now when i change data in combo box on main form to match the ProductId , then the productId field text shows again. after changing combo box it hides . What i need is the existing data should not hide when i change the combo box selection.

see pic 1 where product matches and pic 2 where not. please note i am using master child relationship on the form/subform.

Subform Not Displaying Correct Records From Main Form

Feb 23, 2005

Hello. The problem I am having is related to two tables. I have a table called Void and a table called Panel. A panel can have multiple voids and a void is assigned to only panel (one-to-many). In the Panel table, I set an autoincrementing number(SprayPanelId) for the pK. In the Void table, I set an autoincrementing number (VoidId) for the pk. I place the SprayPanelId into the Void table as a foreign key (same name in the void table). The problem I have is in my forms. I created a Panel form with a button to open a subform for data entry on the voids related to the panel in a new window. Data can be entered and is properly saved in the Void table. I open the Void table in a datasheet view under the table section and see it is properly there. I can run queries where Void.SprayPanelId = Panel.SprayPanelId and it returns the correct void with the correct Panel. The problem becomes when I open my void subform, it no longer displays that record associated with that panel. however, the record is there in my void table. Any thoughts? Do I need a filter perhaps, run any sql commands? Thanks in advance, Kevin

General :: Yes / No Displaying As -1 / 0 In Second Form

Jul 25, 2013

I have a table which has a yes/no field, in the table everything displays as either Yes or No, unless you click on it to edit it, whereby No become 0 and Yes becomes -1.This isn't a big problem as users can only access forms. On the input form this is a check box, checked for Yes and unchecked for No. This used to be a drop down selection box of Yes and No and the same problem was occuring, so I know the problem doesn't relate to the check box.

I have a second reporting form which has multiple combo boxes to filter down results in a subform. In the subform the field correctly displays as Yes and No, however, the filtering combobox for this field has the options 0 and -1.

The combobox is set up as Yes/No, the table is Yes/No and the results are Yes/No. There is no other formatting or input options that can be changed to tell the database this is a Yes/No field. How can I get this combobox to display as Yes/No? It's causing a lot of confusion with users as they are having to select 0 or -1.As a note, I've already tried the following:

-Deleting the combobox and starting again.
-Deleting the table and combo box and starting again.
-Deleting all tables, queries and forms which use this field and starting again.

None have worked, this seems to be something Access is doing rather than an error in what I've done. The filter form uses this code, which may be the cause:

Code:
Option Compare Database
Option Explicit
Private m_colCombos As Collection
Private m_strFilter As String

[code]....

Forms :: Update Number Value From One Tabbed Subform Across 4 Tabs

Feb 10, 2014

I have an on click event that checks if entered number values on my first tabbed subform are not null. I then pass the values to three other fields each on a different tabbed subform using If Then Else syntax that seems to work. When I click through the tabs after the code has finished I can see the updated values on their respective tabbed subforms. However, when I click back through the tabs or requery the record all but the first and last subform values have saved.

I have tried inserting If Me.Dirty Then Me.Dirty = False in the subform after update and on data change events as well as in the on click event. I have also tried RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord and neither seems to work.

Ex.
If IsNull(Me.AMT1_AF) Then
Else
Forms![SCH_ENTRY]![ENT1subform]![AMT1] = Me.AMT1_AF
End If
If IsNull(Me.AMT2_AF) Then

General :: Order Of Tabbed Documents

Oct 17, 2012

Because of certain design considerations and the amount of data I'm maintaining, I have chosen to use tabbed documents rather than floating windows or subforms.

The hierarchy is supposed to be a person who is categorized as either a client, family member, donor, etc. Further, a client may use one or more services. In the example, our client uses Specialized Home Care. However, the tabs are intuitively out of order: the people tab is left-most, followed by the Specilaized Home Care tab, and lastly the Client tab. It should be People, People:Client, People:Client:Service. If a person uses a lot of our services, there will be separate People:Client:Service tabs and the People:Client tab will scroll off to the right. I'd like Access to order them properly but see no way to do it.when the forms are opened, it's people first followed by the high-level classification (i.e. Client), and the lastly the specific Client:Service tabs. I would expect Access to open and display them left to right, but, as you can see, it doesn't.

Forms :: Subform To Be Filtered On Just One Of Linked Fields

Jun 10, 2015

I have a form [Art_DepartmentFilter] that has a subform [Art_ByRoomSubform]. The linked master/child fields are DeptID and RoomID.

There is a list box on the form that allows you to select the department, and this also updates a list box that shows the rooms in that department that have art in them.

I would like the user to be able to filter the form to show either all of the art in that department, or just the art in the specific room. I have two separate buttons, one for each filter (cmdDeptFilter, and cmdRoomFilter).

I realized I had to add the link for the RoomID in order to get the filter for the room to work (which it does nowoCmd.ApplyFilter , "[qry_artbyroom]![DeptID]=[forms]![art_departmentfilter]![textdeptid] and [qry_artbyroom]![roomid]=[forms]![art_departmentfilter]![textroomid]").

However, DoCmd.ApplyFilter , "[qry_artbyroom]![DeptID]=[forms]![art_departmentfilter]![textdeptid] and [qry_artbyroom]![roomid] like '*'" returns just the first room listed for the department, not all of the rooms.

How can I show all of the rooms for the department selected?

Forms :: Change A Field For All Records In Filtered Subform

Aug 3, 2015

I am currently developing a crude Contact manager database and need a quick way of entering data into a selection of records (around 1000 at a time). At the moment I am manually going through all records and changing the "DateLastEmail" field manually, which can be very tiring.

Any way to assign a button to change the field for all records to today's date or something of the like.

Currently I have a form which filters my subform. The subform resides as a seperate query and when the "Apply Filter" button is pressed it requeries with a change of .filter property, so I guess that all that needs to be done is to change all records that exist within the query, but I am stuck on a way to do this without manually entering it.

Queries :: Passing Filtered Subform To Query To Generate Multi-page Reports?

May 24, 2013

I have a filtered form with a sub form displaying only non-printed invoices.

The sub-form has a check-box (which is how the form is filtered) to only show unchecked (not yet printed) invoices.

All i want to do is print only the invoices visible in the sub-form.

I've setup the report to link to a query and the report is all setup, i just can't get the query to function how i want it to!

I've got this SQL code for the Query.

Code:
SELECT tblOrderForm.OrderNo, *
FROM tblOrderForm INNER JOIN tblOrderDetail ON tblOrderForm.OrderNo = tblOrderDetail.OrderNo
WHERE (((tblOrderForm.OrderNo)=[Forms]![Export Orders]![ExportSub].[form].[OrderNo]));

However this only shows the field with focus. I would like it to display ALL data in the subform.
