General :: Changing Text So That First Letter Is Uppercase
Nov 24, 2012
I want to change text in txt boxes. when a new customer is being created we are too lazy to put uppercase in. so i want to change the text so the first letter is uppercase. i have used this on every event and it doesn't change a thing.
PHP Code:
Private Sub txtTown_AfterUpdate()LResult = StrConv("TECH ON THE NET", 3)End Sub
Private Sub txtPostcode_AfterUpdate()LResult = StrConv([txtPostcode], 1)End Sub
Private Sub txtStreet_AfterUpdate()LResult = StrConv([txtStreet], 3)End Sub
Private Sub txtFirstName_BeforeUpdate()LResult = StrConv([txtFirstName], 3)End Sub
I have this at the top
PHP Code : Option Compare DatabaseOption ExplicitDim LResult As StringDim LResponse As Integer
In a form I have fields name, first name in which I would if necessary want to put the first letter of the name and/or the first name in uppercase. I created for it a buttonUPLOW How to synchronize this action.
Code: Function MiseEnMajuscule(Chaine As String) As StringDim nCar As Integer
'Compteur (position dans la chaine traiter) Chaine = Trim$(Chaine)
I have a textbox called "name", what i am trying to do is have lowercase on first/second names in the textbox except the last word (surname)this i want in uppercase.
I'm creating a form letter in Access 2002 and the letter is completed but I want to change the formatting from align left to justify but can't find a way to do this. The detail section contains 2 label boxes and 1 text box.
I'm trying to add a search function the searches with ever letter I add to the string in the search box. if the string is not in the recordset then vbred the textbox.
Here's my code:
Private Sub txtGroupNr_KeyPress(KeyAscii As Integer) Set RstRecSet = Nothing Set db = CurrentDb On Error Resume Next If IsNull(txtGroupNr) Or txtGroupNr = "" Then ' MsgBox "Please enter a Group Number to use as the search criteria", _
I'm designing a database in which the primary key is a combination of the first letter of first name, the first letter of last name and the date of birth.
I am trying to use access to connect to SQLServer with an insert query. I need to generate alphanumeric number for each record. The letter will move to the right as the alphanumeric number increase.
For example: A0001 , A0002.... -> A9999 0A000, 0A001 ... => 0A999 1A000, 1A001 ... => 1A999 2A000, 2A001 ...2A999 9A000,9A001 ...=>9A999 00A00, 00A01 ... => 99A99 000A0, 000A1 ... > 999A9 0000A....=> 9999A Last number will be 9999A
ok here is what i want.. imagine a search box, just an empty text box that allows the user to type things into it...
there will be a simple table from the database behind it, here is the typical structure of a record
<Country>Poland <Price1>60 <Price2>85 <Price3>95
in this table there will be say a 1000 of these records... my user is going to have to quickly search through these records while on the phone to a customer, and quote one of the relevant prices associated with that country
what i would like is this most convenient system.. as the user types in the letter 'P' just below all the records with countries that begin with 'P' are displayed (with a scroll down arrow if needed)..as well as the 3 relevant prices with that record
if they then type an 'O' into the box (which will now hold 'Po') all the records with countries beginin with 'Po' will be displayed (eg Poland)
if they delete the 'o'. once again the displayed records below the box will return to just the countries begginin with 'p'
all that is needed is for the records to be displayed, thats it.. but the adding and deleting of the letters within the text search box will need to instantly manipulate this list..
i have posted on other forums, and have been told this can be acheived in access, is it hard?
I have searched and found references to converting text to dates. I need to go the other way. I have client# field and a date field. I would like to make an update query to populate a new field by concatenating the two fields minus the "/". I am making a new key field in an existing table. Then in the future when data entry is done, I would like to convert the date and client# as they are entered. I was looking at using the left$ or right$ function, but the dates may be in mm/dd/yyyy format or m/dd/yyyy format or m/d/yyyy and so on, depending on the month and day. Is there an easy way to convert the date to a number? I tried datevalue, but it leaves the "/" in there. I'm not sure how to section off the parts of the date I need, when the month and day vary between 1 and 2 digits. Thanks for any help.
I'm using M$ Access 2002. I have a query which contains an expr as one of the fields. The expression adds three text fields together to create a salutation. This is the expression:
Where all three fields are of the Text data type. I am trying to display the students grades for next year. So if the value of [students].[gradelvl] is "10", it should display "11". If it were a Number data type I think this would be easier for me to figure out.
This is very close to the label question that I also have posted. I am trying to get my report to have the back ground of some text boxes turn yellow if they are populated. I can get them to turn yellow, but they turn yellow whether they are populated or not. I have the code in the Report Open event. Here is some of the code that I have.
If Not IsNull(MMSJob) Then MMSJob.BackColor = 65535 Else MMSJob.BackColor = vbWhite End If
Hello, in my Access database there is quite a bit of VBA code. I have set my LAN and file path in some of this code but will need to change it when this database will get to other users using a different LAN and path.
Is there a way I can avoid them to open the code and manually change this information? I was thinking of some sort of text box where they will write their path (ex. \S01000sharedoffice*.*) and use a cmdbutton to overwrite the existing path?
in an initials field... i want it so that it could automatically increment the 3 letters to uppercase... how? if it can't be done in a table where can it be made (i.e. in a form, query etc)
How can I report on records which have uppercase values in a record. The data I have in the table is a mixture of Titlecase and UPPERCASE. I need to report on the uppercase values.
I would like all of the text in my database to appear in upper case. I used the > symbol in the format of all controls and in my tables also. However, on my form's lookup combos it doesn't work. When I click the dropdown it shows all selections in upper case, but after I select it turns into lower case again.
I then tried using Ucase and strConv but those don't seem to work with my combos either.
I have searched and these are all the suggestions I could find on how to do this, does anyone know another or possibly what I am doing wrong?
I am as new to MS Access as you can possibly get so please forgive such a simple question. I created a table in Design View. On one of the fields in the table I want to restrict the values that the user is allowed to enter to either a capital Y or a capital N so I created the following validation rule in design view:
=UCase("Y") Or UCase("N")
No matter what I do, the data sheet view allows me to enter a lower case Y or a lower case n. How can I make sure that this field only accepts a capital y or a capital N.
Not sure if this is possible but I have a few text boxes on a report set to vertical yes under properties. They print fine, but on the pre-printed forms I'm using they print upside down. Is there a way to realign they way the text prints when using the vertical yes setting? I really need they text to be inverted. I'm I asking an impossible question? Thanks..
I am having a query which having a category field like Electrical, Sports, House hold etc.
What I want that if i select Electrical then it should return 15, if Sports then 10 and so on i think this could be done through this below mentioned VBA but it need change from integer to text...
Option Compare Database
Public Function fncGrade(intNum%) As String Select Case intNum Case 0 To 1: fncGrade = "Same as Previous" Case 2 To 32: fncGrade = "C-3" Case 33 To 40: fncGrade = "C-2" Case 41 To 50: fncGrade = "C-1" Case 51 To 60: fncGrade = "B-3" Case 61 To 70: fncGrade = "B-2" Case 71 To 80: fncGrade = "B-1" Case 81 To 90: fncGrade = "A-2" Case 91 To 100: fncGrade = "A-1" Case Else:: fncGrade = "X-X" End Select End Function
I have a project of migrating our Access data to Oracle. One of the pre-reqs the boss wants is to uppercase all of the column names (Field name) for all of the tables. I want to avoid manually going in all the tables and changing the case of the columns because there is like 300 tables where dealing with. I was wondering if in Access..is there an efficient way of converting my column names to upper case via script? VBA or Macro?
Im linking to sql across ms access and I have all records uppercase.I need to set StrConv with first character uppercase and every other lowercase which is not problem.
Hi all, I am trying to have the rowsource change on a "subcategory" combo box depending on what the "category" combo box says.
I added an event procedure to the "Category" combo box which changes the Row Source in the subcategory combo box to something else. I'm not sure that I did this right as if I close the database and reopen it, what I selected in the subcategory combobox is gone and it is blank. Any ideas? Here is my simple, likely incorrect event procedure:
Private Sub Category_Change()
If Category.Text = "Rare Books" Then SubCat.RowSource = "scRareBooks"
End If
If Category.Text = "Legal Documents" Then SubCat.RowSource = "scLegalDocuments"
