I want to display the message "Processing Record ? of ???..." on the screen while my vba code is running without interruption. Since the msgbox requires the user to click a button to continue, what is the simplest way to display this message on the screen without interrupting the program or requiring user interaction?
I want a progress bar in a form that will increase from bottom to top . The data will from Access table. The bar will start from 0 to Maxvalue. The Maxvalue will be calculated as below:
Total number of batches in the table/ No. of working days between 14072014 and 31112014 / 2
So the above calculation will define the range of a progress indicator.
And now we have to show the % percentage that means how many batches have been scanned for today. For this the following calculations will be used:
Count total batches where scandate=today and scannedby<>null
Now this will show the percentage in the bar that means hopw much work has been completed.
The progress bar should move from bottom to top when % increases.
I would like to put a message on the screen for informing the user - mostly during some procedures that might take time or when, after a warning, I want to go on with the program but without action from the user.
Msgbox is obviously not the one I'm looking for as it needs customer acknowledge. Is there a solution for this task?
I am unable to print the progress bar of the syscmd, I have tried checning the progressbar too under the startup. When I put a debug point, it goes to that area and loops through it, by printing it in the immediate window, debug.print.
I have even put a msgbox, to see whether it is popping up, yes it does.I have tried Application.syscmd and syscmd, here I am gonna paste the coding.

How do I achieve a full screen switchboard display so that the only way to access the (table, query, form...) is by holding the shift button while clicking on the file icon. Thanks!
I need to create a message box or a form or something to flash on the screen to tell the user that a piece of "Update" code is running. the update code will be updated reports from marketing returns, but the 3 branches who use the information are separate so I am creating an update form to download and update the table.
The code for the update is already working, but can take a while, so I thought a message or splash screen would be useful as the update runs on start up.
It would have another use, I have a report which is made mainly of calculated fields on an onPrint event and also takes a while to work it out, so a similar screen would be more useful than my current spinning circle and blank screen.
Ok the question may sound cryptic, but I have a large database with many forms that all contains VBA code that can be iniated via a button and will perform some time consuming work.
I would like to be able to view some kind of status or progress of the work performed. Perhaps even dynamically like in from 0-100% work done.
Example send some status text to either a popup form or even the bottom "statusbar" text area. The problem with the latter is that I know how to change it via VBA, but as far as I know it requires me to access and change it using form and object. But I need this from so many forms and objects (buttons) that I would need to do a lot of code rework to actually know where I am calling my VBA code from.
Is it possible to change the status text "universally", that is without regards to a form and object?
Or how else can I go about to display some status/progress text which will work from any form and object without passing form and object name.
I have a form of data base which is being shared by 3-4 persons. The problem being observed is, in Laptop it shows the complete form on screen but in PC of 14" monitor, we have to adjust the seek bar to view the form up/down. Can there be any solution to automatically fit the form size to monitor size?
We have a button running a SQL query via VBA, how can I make it so the results doesn't show up in a table/preview?Also, I know it's for the SQL forum but how can I make a text box to show the results of a query to display it on screen?
I have a macro in the On No Data event of a report that displays a message when the item number a user requests does not exist in the table being queried.
Now I need to get the same functionality in a form. The form is based on a parameter query with only one criteria [Please enter item number]. The form opens in Edit mode when a valid item number is entered.
I see that there is no On No Data event for either forms or queries, so I'm stumped on how to proceed.
Hi, does anyone know how to create a query/or form that promts the user with a message box that says "enter table name", from this if the user types "A" then table A will be opened for the user to add data into or if the user types in "B" then table B will be opened for the user to add data into. Ideally I would like a form that opens (either form a or form b) that allows the user to enter the details into the corresponding table (a or b)
Tables A & B are both emty to start of with. The field names in both tables are: user_id, firstname, lastname, date
Hello guys, I have created a form which generates the data into new access database, now I have to show a message "Processing" while data gets generated. And when its done this message should go away by itself,so any suggestion please let me know.
Hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have a field on a form and if I tab out of it without entering any data and go to the next field, I could do with a message box coming up stating you must enter a value in this field, and then have the curser go back into this field.
I'm trying to display an image which is saved in the table as an OLE Object in a message box. The field with the object is "PowerCurve". This is what I'm trying to do. It allows me to get as far as clicking yes to view the second message box but then it results in an error when it tries to display the image.
Code:
Dim strDetails As String strDetails = DLookup("Details", "ExistingDeviceDetailsQ") Dim strCurve As String strCurve = DLookup("PCurve", "DeviceT", "DeveloperProduct = '" & Forms!DeviceF!D_ExistingDeviceCmb & "'") If strCurve = "No" Then MsgBox strDetails, , "Device Details"
[code]....
I get the error "Object variable or With block variable not set" on the line
Is there anyway to diasble the window that has the circle in the left hand. When I open my database I just want the form to open. I dont want the window with the toolbars to open it jus gets in the way an is more of a hassle to deal with.
I have been tasked with creating a database to log employee suggestions and then automatically present reports around the site. I have developed the database and it works OK and can output *.PDF reports, but I'm having problems with how to display these reports. My idea was to output the reports automatically as *.TIFF or *.JPG files and have them stored in a folder that the My Pictures screensaver uses. The reports (in fact, any site report stored in this folder) can then be shown on any screen dotted around the site when it goes into screensaver mode. However I can't find any way to output/convert to a picture file.
The other option is to create a webpage that rotates through the saved PDFs, but this isn't ideal as the PC users will have to load the webpage to display the reports.
I have a report which is an invoice I have a button on the report to reprint It . Now if this is a duplicate Invoice I need to add a background Image ,something like a duplicate stamp . I have added a message box which says" is this a Duplicate Invoice" .If the answer is yes then I want to display the backgrond image and print the report .If the answer is no, then print report without background image
I am currently using access 2010 and I have been wrecking my brain to figure out how to display message in place of my charts when there is no data. Currently, whenever the chart has no data to display it just shows a white blank space. I would like to replace that with a message.
I have a few update queries that will check X number of items, based on what the user inputs.
What I want to do (if possible), is return the number of items selected based on what they type in a message box.
I have set all warnings to false for update queries.
Example:
User runs the "Check Items By Location" query via the form, then receives a message stating "[Total Selected] Items Have Been Selected from [Location]."
I have a button that duplicates records 'X' amount of times based on a value in a text box.
I need a message box to advise the user that they have created record number from - to
Eg
User creates 5 records - first record created has a auto number of 3200
I need the message box to say 'you have just created records 3200 - 3204
Is this possible?
Here is the current code on the duplicate button courtesy of Uncle Gizmo
Private Sub AddRecord_Click() On Error GoTo AddRecord_Click_Err Dim x As Integer For x = 1 To (Me.txtAmount.Value - 1) DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSelectRecord DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdCopy
I am trying to build a Multi Search Screen and just do not know how to achieve this. what I want the application to do is:
1) I Created a main form for data entry called 'Orderfrm' 2) The Orderfrm Field EmpNo - I created a Search Button. 3) Users to enter the Employee No or Surname or FirstName (multisearch) and hit the search button to search for the relevant employee. 4) I would like then to open a 'SearchFrm' with the details of the employee. 5) If it is more than one employee - the system to list them all 6) users will select the correct employee details and finally the system to autofill the details in 'OrderFrm'
I created a form which fits to my screen resolution. When I open it through an another computer which has different screen resolution then my form is opening according to my 1st screen resolution.
I wanted to fit the form resolution to the desktop on which it it opening. Is it possible?
How to set the form the screen resolution on which the form is opening.
I have tried to make a login screen, I have also searched for information and tried some of the examples but, I just can't get one to work. Is there someone or somewhere where I can get information on how to build one step by step in simple easy instructions....(access 2003).
Also, how do you get access to open all the windows, tables, queries etc in full screen mode. I have expaneded them and shut it down and then reopened it but they still want to open out of full screen mode.
Thanks, everyone has been a great help in creating my first Access program.
The record source of a form that I have is based on a user selection in a combo box in the header of the form. When the form opens there may or may not be any records to display. Currently I put up a message box when there are no records displayed but this only happens when the form is newly opened.
I was wondering if it is possible to have a label displayed in the detail section instead whenever there are no records to display, such as something along the lines of "There are no records to display with the selected option, please choose an alternative.".
I realise that I may be asking the impossible but I'm a member of the "If you don't ask you'll never know" club.
