Exporting data from a table or query, into Word 2010?

I've googled the crap out of it and the only thing I can find is mail merge...which as far as I can tell is used for creating letters and mailling lables or emails.

What I would like to do is click a command button on an invoice which would export company name, province and date, into an existing word template, save it as a new filename, and then close.

I have a MS Access 2010 application when the User opens form CONTACTS Form

◦User finds single record to be used CONTACTID is identifier to be used for selection
◦User clicks button to open form frm_MAIL_MERGE
◦Frm_MAIL_MERGE has a drop down combo box that reads the folder location where the application resides and displays all .DOTM files (that is all template files) and one more combo box which contains the CONTACTID.
◦User selects single .dotm file for merge
◦Frm_MAIL_MERGE has either drop down to select CONTACTID or UNBOUND data field for user to type in CONTACTID number
◦User enters CONTACTID to be used for the mail merge
◦User selects SUBMIT
◦Application merges selected .dotm file with the information in table CONTACTS for the selected CONTACTID
◦Merged document is saved on the user Desktop as xxx.docx

I'm strugling with transferring data from access to word template.

1. transferring single data fields works okay, with bookmarks etc.

2. transferring multiple records (e.g. orderlines) to a WORD template fails. The # of multiple records are variable. So could not be defined upfront how may records i have to transfer.

I tried to transfer the data in a word table both with bookmarks and with merge fields. The result was that all data was placed in de first cell of the table in WORD.Setting up de WORD template combining with the VBA code.

General :: Slow Searches After Update To 2010 Data?

I have a big application, which we updated to Access 2010 a month ago. It ran fine. Then we also just updated the data from 2003 to 2010. Now we have very slow searches of big tables/queries, and the tech says that 'cpu usage on the server has gone to 100%'.

What can be happening? Nothing else has been changed except that the data has been updated to 2010 accdb.

And I would like to generate a output text file like below:

FLD00101=1
FLD00102=AAAA1233456
FLD00103=210
FLD00104=1230
FLD00201=2
FLD00202=BBBB1222234
FLD00203=45G1
FLD00205=1330

FDL00.... should be generated automatically, starting with 101 for 1st container and 201 for 2nd and so forth. The output should be in vertical manner.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and it's my first post, any help is greatly appreciated.

I have just been given a big project of firstly transferring information we hold in word documents over to Ms Access and then using ASP or .NET I got to make this a searchable, more user friendly web page displaying the information from the database.

I have tried searching on the web but have not found anything that can transfer information from a table in a word document to a table in Ms Access, does anyone know of anything out there that allows this to be done without losing any data in the transfer?

I have tried saving the document as a text file and importing it into Access but it did not transfer the data across correctly.

Exporting A Sub Form To Word

Hello Access People,

I am sure this has been answered but i can not find it after searching all day.

I have a main form called "Main Form", then a sub form call "DPriority Assessment" on the main form i use this to filter the results, of only the data for one report shows and the results follow all works this far.

I am using a button to export the results from my sub form in to a word document, the data is copy over ok, but the page setup keeps changing from A4 to Letter, and the page changes from Landscape back to portrait, i have checked my printer setting and the setting in both word and access all looks fine.

I am not sure if some kind of code is need but i am not sure were or how to go about this. If anybody has any ideas i would be grate full or examples would be better.

is it possible to get the information entered into the form and suvbforms exported to a Word doc? if so, can someone give me the steps involved or some pointers please? im not talking about exporting reports, it needs to be the form and sub-forms

I wish to work in Access 2010 with a subset of my Outlook 2010 contacts (all desktop- no network barriers), so I am exploring the Desktop Contacts DB found in Microsoft's templates. It passes contact data back and forth using the standard macros, but I wish to add more fields from Outlook. It seems I need to find the code associated with the macro. I believe I can solve the problem using a Linked table, but am wondering if there is another solution?

Calendar synchronization is another issue. Linking gets me to the Archive Calendars, but not the Current one in Outlook which is what I want.

Exporting Field Value To A Word Document

Hi.

I'd like to export only email addresses separated by ";" to a word document based on a result of a query.
Query gets build dynamically in VB behind the form as there are many search criterias. so user can eneter one field or many in the form to build the query. Queries work and i can extract and display the email in a report or another form, but now i'd like to export it to a word document or outlook (but i would prefer word).

Can anyone please give me advice how i should approch this issue.

When exporting my tables from access to excel my table names change if they have a space in the name. Example table name "New Record" turns into "New_Record".

What I am trying to do is export the table data to excel than update my access program than imort the table data back. This way I can take a vertion of my access program and update/modify it as time permits than reinsert all current data with min down time.

The code I am using is as follows:

I need to export a table to a .csv file.

One of the fields in the table is "Posting Date". Data Type: Date/Time. Format: Short Date

All records in this field are dates. Format is "dd/mm/yyyy". None of the records include a time.

When I export the table to a .csv file, the time is added to the date. So the exported result is "dd/mm/yyyy 00:00:00" e.g. 17/10/2013 00:00:00

I am exporting the table using "delimited" format in the wizard.

I cannot use the fixed width option.

How do I prevent the time from being added?

I've set up a piece of VBA code to loop through and email various recipients data, in the form of records within the email body. This works fine, but occasionally produces an error whereby the email output body lines are duplicated spuriously. This only seems to happen when running a large number of email loops.

The data source for the email body content is a table, which for each 'loop' is refreshed with new data by 1) deleting records from that table, and then 2) appending data to the table.

The portion of code for the loop & email:

Forms :: 2010 - Exporting To Excel Via Navigation Form (blank Reports)

I have decided to move away from Switchboard in Access 2010, to what I find to be more user-friendly; the Navigation Forms.

However, when I attempt to export any of the data from my navigation forms, the result is a blank Excel sheet. I can easily go into the forms themselves on the left navigation panel and export from there, but when myself or a user attempts to do this from the navigation forms themselves; well, the blank Excel sheet is the result.

How do you create a work-around, so that it is possible to export to Excel from these navigation forms?
