How to open a search form with a mouse click on Button_Search
My idea is to pop up a form where user can enter the search text and select the required name and get back to the old form with all details about the entry. This form alone is workign fine. I want to call it in a mouse click. and pass the data back to old form.
I have two forms. One is a datasheet. One is a form with a default view of Single Form (which contains combo boxes).I want to have the user select (click) on a record in the datasheet and have the second form open to that record. The datasheet form acts as an advanced search on two title fields.I tried the open form macro but I dont know how to have to second form open to a specific record.
I would like to be able to click a button on a form in my data base and login to a website using my username and password.
The manual login, requires two clicks after username and password, "Login" and "Click to continue"
I have tried many solutions found on the internet, none work for me. One forum reply was to send me a link to another site and it was for Excel. Is the code the same? Didn't work anyway.
From the website I want to login to, I have copied the code into a Word doc from the "inspect element" to work out the names of the fields I'm trying to put my username and password into. (see attached)
I would also like to be able to use Google Chrome as my web browser if possible?
I currently have a button that opens a report. the report pulls from a query that has parameters set to "fromdate" and "todate". instead of using dates and parameters that pop up as blank text boxes, I would like to click the button, have a form pop up with a combo box to select all of the options available (currently 23 options) and then click a button to make a report that only displays the record (1-23) selected. I do not need any time constraints because as the databases get updated with more records, there would be more than 23 options to choose from.
I have an access form that fills an access table (MS Access 2003). Also, I have a Word (2010) document/template with some template text and empty fields which should be filled with data from access. Is it possible to insert a button in access form which would open a word document and populate appropriate fields with data from that form?
But what I need is that before printing, open the preview to set the margins and page size ... or at least to pre-configure so that when you press the button, and comes preformatted.
enable me to run some code before a button is clicked I want to be able to click a button via VBA code.Basically I used the auto button wizard to make an add record button. To ensure a shed loads of if checks and queries on the entered form data run I wanted to make this button invisible, then make a new button running code not embedded macros to run my checking module then click.
I know how to use a callback to to action a button click directly.
But I also have a drop down list of my buttons on a form (they are dynamically created, so the details are stored in a table), I want to select a button from my drop down lists and then action the button selected.
EDIT: In short - I want to execute a ribbon button via vba knowing its Control.ID.
I have a database that has a main form, and from that main form there are buttons that open their respected forms. I am curious as to how I control the size of all of my forms. They are all pop-ups at the moment. It all works fine on my monitor, but when opened on a smaller monitor it is too big and I can't even see the bottom of the screen. The main form is set to open automatically after the user logs into the database and it opens to fit the screen. also, all of my forms are modals.
In ContactIDForm it contain 1 textbox name 'TextBox' with Button Name 'Btn'
In ContactIDForm there is only 1 Text Box ContactIDTextBox and 1 Button. User Enters ID in TextBox and On Button Click Event it should check data from TextBox in Table name (ContactDetailTable) in field ContactID and if there is record matching, ContactInfoForm should Open else NewContactForm should open with ContactIDTextBox value in it.
I am sending an email using SendObject. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it makes the computer freeze up with no error message. I have tried this with Outlook running or not running, seems to make no difference.
Code:
'The sub procedure below sends e-mail in response to a click on the Send button. Private Sub SendMessagesButton_Click()
'For Access, define some object variables and make connections. Dim myConnection As ADODB.Connection Set myConnection = CurrentProject.Connection Dim myRecordSet As New ADODB.Recordset myRecordSet.ActiveConnection = myConnection
[Code] ....
I have added some MsgBox () to narrow down where it crashes. It is after 'Five' and Before 'Six'. On the line:
Set appOutlookRecip = .Recipients.Add(eMailAddress)
I am mystified as to why it works OK sometimes, and not others. The email address being used is valid.
Often I use Labels as buttons due to the fact I can colour them the way I want, and use the on click event to trigger code. The code below however works for a command button, but not a label button.
DoCmd.OpenForm "frmdatetime" Do While Forms!frmdatetime!OKFlag.Caption = "False" DoEvents Loop
When this code is run by clicking on a command button, it works fine. If run by clicking on a label, frmdatetime opens, but the mouse will not work on either of the 2 open forms unless you go down to the windows task bar, jump onto another window, and back onto frmdatetime. If I remove the loop with the DoEvents in it, then the problem does not occur.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why this behaviour occurs.
I have a few search forms that, when search parameters are entered, a continuous subform displays the results (summarised...not all fields show).
I want to be able to double click a field in any given record, and have it open in a form allowing editing of the record.
I know I need something in the OnDoubleClick event of the text box I want to double click, which would then open the form, but I don't know what code to use.
For the sake of argument, I want to double click on the txtSerialNumber text box to do it, as this is a unique field.
I all I have looked in the forum but can't find anything that matches I have a form containing a subform called eventswich shows some events in date order, as I have too many information on the table events I could not put them all in the subform if not only the essential information, what I need is if I double click on the field "DATE" it would open the "EVENT" form and show me all the information contained in the record. At the present time I have the filed SELECT RECORD set to NO on the form properties! Hope I have given a good explanation!!!! Thanks Marco
I have the following code that I have been trying to get to work:
Private Sub txtSocNumber_DblClick(Cancel As Integer) On Error GoTo Err_txtSocNumber_DblClick
Dim stDocName As String Dim stLinkCriteria As String
stDocName = "FrmApplicantFullDetails"
If IsNull(Me.txtSocNumber) Or Me.txtSocNumber = "" Then MsgBox "This record is empty", vbInformation, "No Data" Me.txtSocNumber.SetFocus Else stLinkCriteria = "[ApplicantID]=" & Me![InvestigatorID] DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria End If
Exit_txtSocNumber_DblClick: Exit Sub
Err_txtSocNumber_DblClick: MsgBox Err.Description Resume Exit_txtSocNumber_DblClick End Sub
I have the following two tables:
Applicant and Investigator
Applicant: ApplicantID InvestigatorID etc
Investigator: InvestigatorID etc
The relationship is setup as 1 investigator to many applicants.
What I am trying do is this. I have form with a subform in it. In the subform there is applicant info IE SS# LName, FName and that is it. What I want to do is be able to double click on the SS# have the form "FrmApplicantFullDetails" open so you can view the work up on the applicant or edit info on the applicant.
Am I going about this the right way with the above code? Or is there something else I am missing in the code or is there code out that will do what I am looking for that is easier?
Hello everyone!I need to call the button_click procedure for a button on a form (button1), from another form, if you see what I mean!.Basically the user opens form1. They click a button which opens form2. Once they have finished on form2 they press the close button, which is the point where I need to call the button1_click procedure on form1.I imagine it's something like this:Call Forms![frmForm1]![button1]![Click] orCall Forms.[frmForm1].[button1_Click()]But no matter what syntax I try it just won't work! They're very basic forms, with only 2 buttons on and basic commands.Any help appreciated! Thanks
I have a continuous form with button for every record, wich has a VBA code. I want to put Button in header form, when i click it, then should run all button in continuous form. How can I do that.
After data is entered into text box, on the "On Enter" event, how do I make it click a button on the form?Similar to the effect of when you enter your username then password, most people just hit enter on the keyboard to auto click the login button.
I am trying to create a proposal log for my company to make things easier to track. I have made a multiple items form to list the proposals. I want to be able to double click the record to open up another form (that i have already created) that shows the information from the proposal table and the proposal details table. So.....
I want to double click the field named "Proposal Name" and have it open up to form i have called "proposals details form".
I am using the following event code to open a database from another. Everything works fine but, I would like add a mxgbox letting the user know the database does not exists and to contact me for assistance.
Private Sub cmdOpenTime_Click() Dim accapp As Access.Application Set accapp = New Access.Application accapp.OpenCurrentDatabase ("c:PILOT_ApplicationTIME.Accdb") accapp.Visible = True End Sub
I have the following code attached to a form: Private Sub Go_To_Project_Click() On Error GoTo Err_Go_To_Project_Click Dim stDocName As String Dim stLinkCriteria As String stDocName = "Project Main" stLinkCriteria = "[R&D ID#]=" & Me![lstsearch] DoCmd.OpenForm stDocName, , , stLinkCriteria Exit_Go_To_Project_Click: Exit Sub Err_Go_To_Project_Click: MsgBox Err.Description Resume Exit_Go_To_Project_Click End Sub
Private Sub txtsearch_AfterUpdate() Me.lstsearch.RowSource = "Select [R&D ID#], [SKU#], [Project Name], [Construction level], [Manufacturer], [Hobbico Status], [R&D Work By], [Product Manager], [Desktopper]" & _ "From [Project Main]" & _ "Where [Project Name] like '*" & Me.txtsearch & "*'" & _ "OR [SKU#] like '*" & Me.txtsearch & "*'" & _ "OR [R&D Work By] like '*" & Me.txtsearch & "*'" & _ "OR [Product Manager] like '*" & Me.txtsearch & "*'" & _ "OR [Desktopper] like '*" & Me.txtsearch & "*'" & _ "OR [R&D ID#] like '*" & Me.txtsearch & "*'" Me.lstsearch.Requery End Sub
Private Sub Exit_Search_Click() On Error GoTo Err_Exit_Search_Click DoCmd.Close Exit_Exit_Search_Click: Exit Sub Err_Exit_Search_Click: MsgBox Err.Description Resume Exit_Exit_Search_Click End Sub
Basically a text string is entered in the txtbox and a list of matching records shows up in lstsearch box. One selects the desired record in the lstsearch and clicks on the "Go to project" button and the appropriate form (aka "Project main") and subform (aka Project History) open up with the desired record and record history.
What would I need to add to lstsearch so the users can double-click on the record to open it instead of selecting it and clicking on the "Go to project" button?
