I want to replace my String ("Evidence required of this please" ) in this code 1) following which works fine, with a variable (textToPaste) as in code 2) which doesn't work.
1) TextBox1 = "<div><font style=""BACKGROUND-COLOR:#FFFF00"">Evidence required of this please</font>"
2) TextBox1 = "<div><font style=""BACKGROUND-COLOR:#FFFF00"">textToPaste</font>"
Can I persuade the statement to accept "textToPaste" as a variable and not a normal string?
Let's say I have a database saved in Folder 1. Is there a way for me to create a read-only copy of that database in Folder 2 so that it can be up-to-date with the changes made in the Folder 1 database? I am running Windows 7.

i have to create one Master Data transformation tool use Microsoft access. The input file and output file of this tool are excel spreadsheet. There are 2 levels of the data transformation, first level is data mapping and validation on the raw data, second level is data update on the field value.
My question can someone show me step by step how to build this tools using access and read from excell.
The database I am working with suddenly says that is ready only, and I cannot make changes! How can I make it not read only?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a database and I manage to split it into front end and backend. now I'm going to make an EXE of the front end.My question is when I open the front end, I need the database to be empty, and them create a button that will make the user select which project he wants to open (backend).I also need to create a button that will create a new empty backend and save it as a new project.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm sure it's not random, but it doesn't seem to follow any sort of rules. My database has become "Read Only" 3 times now causing all workers using the database to stop work until IT can fix the issue. All IT does is kick everyone out of the folder that my db is in and suddenly it is no longer read only.
View 2 Replies View RelatedBeen using XP all this time, just got a new computer with Windows 7. Still using old Access 2000, not my call to update as this is the decision of the guy who owns the database.
Anyways, I opened Access for the first time, just a blank database so I can set up the user account. When I go to Tools > Security > User and Group Accounts and try to assign a password to Admin, I get the error message that it cannot update because the database is read only.
Where did this come from? I have never seen this message before, and the person who owns the database has a couple computers with Windows 7 that I have set this up on and did not run into this issue.
I realize that there can be some compatibility issues with Windows 7 and Access 2000 but it has worked on other Windows 7 computers, and not using the virtual XP mode.
I have read only access to a database maintained by a vendor. I am using an append query to search for new records in that database every time my database opens through a macro. This adds any new records to my table. I then add additional information to each record in my table. This is newly acquired information, not calculated, and it is different for each record.
My question is can I keep my table up to date with the vendor table without running the append query macro at open every time as my database may remain open for extended periods of time during updating of records.
I have a simple database that is on a desktop that I have a shared folder and have not had issues till now. What would cause it so say, "This database has been opened read-only." Nothing has changed. Only thing my co-worker did was reboot the machine a few days ago.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a small Access DB (multi-user) on a network that keeps turning into a read-only DB, with a message bar saying please save as . . . and it will not let you complete that. It seems to lock the application, and when I can get everyone out and copy the file out I can finally get it back to its normal state.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 2 tables and from them I do a query called "Query_Dates". There, I created 4 calculated fields which compares fields of the two tables previously mentioned.
What I am trying to do is everytime the calculated fields are equal to "Diff", gets the value from the second table (ADHOC) and and puts it in the 1st table (Master_Table). In total there are 4 fields I would change depending on other 4 fields called (CheckRR, CheckQual, CheckProd, CheckCap).
The problem is that it gives me an error 3027, object is read-only.
Below, you can find the code.
Private Sub Comando27_Click()
Dim rst As DAO.Recordset
Dim rsd As DAO.Recordset
Dim supplierName As String
Set rsd = Application.CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("Query_Dates", dbOpenDynaset)
Set rst = Application.CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("Master_Table" , dbOpenDynaset)
[Code] .....
OK, I tried to see if this was possible but not finding much of an answer. So I figured I'd check with our merry band of experts if it even is.
I'm using Access 2013 and I have a database I would like everyone to be able to see but only those that have a password to be able to change data.
Is there a way to even to do this? A code somewhere maybe?
I've been able to find the option to make the whole database password protected but that's not what I'm looking for.
I am having problems opening my databases. Access automatically opens them in 'Read Only' mode, and I cannot find a way to avoid this - so I can never add data to the original tables ....

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to open up an Access database as read-only from another running Access database. The code I have to open the database currently reads:

We have a database on a PC located on our network. The database is located in this computer's shared folder. Another database grabs data from this database occasionally. We're running into a problem where we cannot open the DB located in the shared folder (permissions granted) without it being a read only instance even with no users accessing the DB.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI routinely export queries etc from my development database to the 'live' master database used by users. Every so often I get the error message 'The database Mydatabase.accdb is read only'. Then I can't export anything to it. I don't know why it should suddenly become read only. How do I make the database changeable, and not read only?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two separate database files, a front end with all my forms and a back end with all my tables. The backend is stored on a network drive, is there any way of being able to store the frontend on the drive with the backend? Users do not use the actual computer to store information or access files, everything is usually saved on the network drive. I have created a shortcut that launches the front end database in the read only kiosk mode.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a SQL Server DBA and have a few Access 2010 Db's to look after and occasionally have to make amendments to (as is the case today). I've been asked to apply permissions to certain users of the Access database whereby users in a group we're calling 'Viewer' only have read permission and users in another group called 'Writer' (original I know!) have both read and write permission.
The database is form driven (i.e. no-one directly accesses and amends the tables in the database), the file is saved with a .mdb extension.
I've played around with the 'Manage Users & Permissions' in the File Menu however these don't seem to do what I need them to and only result in having to input a user and password to access the database on start-up.
Hi there,
It would be quite useful to have a help button on my forms which when pressed, showed a short help tag for each button etc on that form. SO the user knows exactly what each function does.
Im not aware of any built in function to do this? Is there anyway to show all the 'ControlTip Texts' on the page?
Thanks
Does a (the) .ldb file have to be closed for another user on a network (separate FE linked to network drive BE) to read/write info to a table? Or even select info from a table?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAccess 2007-2010 format Form, 9 bound fields, grouped together Smart Tag = "UnitGroup"
Summary: Needing to run VBA whenever the value is changed within one (or more) of these fields. User could be placing new value (defaults at 0) or editing(changing) previous value entered.
I am not good on writing loops/next statements. But I am wanting to make an image visible to true when someone changes the value within the group.
This is what I have so far:
Dim ctlGroup as Control
For Each ctlGroup in Me.Controls
If ctlGroup.Tag = "UnitGroup" Then 'finds the smart tagged controls
If ctlGroup Then 'if any fields within group changes value then
Me.Image321.Visible = True 'show image
End if
End If
Next ctlGroup
I don't even know if I am close with my code - clearly it is not complete and lots of holes of wonderment!! Maybe it would be easier just to use the individual even (on change) with each individual field (9).
I have an Access template I downloaded which has smart tags. I want to remove all smart tags all of the forms but how.
It must remove all tags as other users will be using the same database on different pc's. So mustn't be a local client setting.
I produce visualisations for architecture companies and use a lot of 2d images of people, cars, trees, skies, etc. As it stands now, I have a folder that contains a huge amount of images that I flip through when I create a new image. I have seen that some websites, such as [URL] .... allow you to filter through an image database based on different tags.
I would like to create a similar database, but stored locally on my computer. I have actually never used Microsoft Access before, but I'm thinking that this might be the best program for me to use. Is this true?
Essentially I would like to organize my library of images of 2D people based on things like: 'staring', 'bicycle', 'looking up', 'back view', 'crowds', 'pointing', 'sitting' etc.
