General :: Main Form Is Set To Open Automatically After User Logs Into Database
Jun 29, 2015
I have a database that has a main form, and from that main form there are buttons that open their respected forms. I am curious as to how I control the size of all of my forms. They are all pop-ups at the moment. It all works fine on my monitor, but when opened on a smaller monitor it is too big and I can't even see the bottom of the screen. The main form is set to open automatically after the user logs into the database and it opens to fit the screen. also, all of my forms are modals.
I am trying to create a database that keeps track of deficiencies in various logs and reviews of the logs. Each log is required to be reviewed by two individuals (determined by their title) everyday. I am trying to make the review table populate with a required review daily and then when the supervisor does his review he will update a checkbox to indicate that the review is complete. I would then query and update the calendar for which supervisors are still required to perform log reviews.
I have made a basic form and use it a log on screen. This requires the user to in put a user name and a password before gaining access to the main database.
The background to the form is a table where the users details are entered including the i enter the user name and password.
Is there any way to add a counter that is only visible in the table, so I can report on the different users.
I am attempting to create a patient tracking database for a clinic I work in and I am stuck at one small but major part.
I have a parent form called frm_Patient_index. On this form you can enter patient details such as personal details, observations ect. I need to create a lab request form for certain tests to be performed.
I want so that a button on the frm_patient_index form opens a subform where the relevent tests can be requested via tick boxes. Now here is my problem I have managed to create all of that except for the information to be entered into the frm_lab_request automatically and get SAVED to its corresponding table. It will not save for me.
I can get the information such as Badge Number, First Name, Surname and DOB to all enter into the fields automatically but getting them to save to the table is not happening.
Hi, When the user clicks on the file name, I want the form to load automatically & also at the same time minimize the database window (i.e. the window where all the tables, queries etc are listed). Any suggestions?
I have a database with a Main Menu Form, containing a Button that loads my main data entry form. When the Button is Clicked portions of the data entry form that is loading shows through the Main Form Background (e.g. portions of the navigation bars, and portions of the boarder on the form that is loading.)
i want to ask is there any way to open another access database using when click button at form.. for example i have tracking.accb then at my switchboard form, i would like to have a button that can go to another access which is borrow.accb. can these possible for me to do it..?
I have a multi user database in Access 2000 that is on a server. The individual users have shortcuts pointing towards the server instance. One user and one user only when opening the shortcut gets the error "you do not have exclusive rights to the database" .
All other users can enter the database with no error box. I have checked the advanced setting under options and they are correct. Ironically if you go to start and open access then navigate to the database shortcut. It opens with no error.
is there a way to find out who has a record open and send him message or someting similar? It happens from time to time that some one has a record open (selected in a form) and then is doing other things while the record is locked and a second person can't do nothing to the record.
In access database, Is there anyone know how use macro to open a word document on a share drive..(example S:safetyRegulation.doc)?.
Here is what I did and it doesn't work.. Runapp command line: C:Program FilesMicrosoftOfficeOfficeWINWORD.EXE //S:safetyRegulation.doc. Is there any easier way to do this? Please advice..thanks Rob..
I have one table containing name of restaurant with its address etc. Then i created another table to list out the restaurant workers names and details. Just as an example,
Table:Restaurant Restaurant name Address line 1 Address line 2 Restaurant # Website
Table:StaffContact Staff Role Name speciality email phone
I have the main form that has all the restaurant details only. And i have another form containing the Staff information. Please note the two table have a relation and it works well.
Now to make it user friendly(basically easier for the lazy ones), I dragged the staff contact form on to my main form and displayed it as a datasheet(basically a sub form).
Now, my boss does not want users to add/delete on this sub form(datasheet). So,he wants me to create buttons to open new record of staff for each restaurant(new form)
My issue is with opening a new record to enter a new person to the staff list and give them a role as well in form view. The new form has
So i ran a Macro, with open form with Where condition
I'm making an Access front-end for an existing app based (I think) on SQL Server 2000. (The Access thing makes labels... the "label wizard" supplied with the SQL Server program isn't very good.)
I can use it fine, but eventually it's going to be used by non-techie people. As it uses linked tables, when you first run it you get a message box similar to this popping up:
http://www.rainjam.com/images/login.jpg
On some machines it tries to create a trusted connection automatically, and fails, and then gives you this box with "Use Trusted Connection" ticked - thus making it even harder for people to use.
Ideally I don't want anyone to have to bother with this. Is it possible to put something into the form's OnOpen event that passes the server, database, user & password details to SQL Server, so it all happens invisibly? I've already tried creating a file DSN on the machine it'll be used on (doesn't seem to do much) and also putting this code in:
Set objConn = New ADODB.Connection objConn.ConnectionString = "Driver={SQL Server};Server=[server];Database=[db];Uid=[blah];Pwd=[blah];" objConn.Open
(I must admit this was a bit of a stab in the dark... it didn't work anyway)
I also found this thread (http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=50449) and tried the code but it didn't seem to work (got one of those "You entered an OnOpen expression that can't be evaluated"-type errors).
Finally... I briefly investigated redoing this whole thing as an Access Project, but haven't ever used them before and don't really have the time to learn!
Any tips would be really, really gratefully received...
I have a main form with a combo which lists all forms in my database. There is also a button which open all the forms depending on this which I will choose from my combo.
Private Sub Command2_Click() DoCmd.OpenForm Me.cmbforms End Sub
Is there any way to open the forms in a subform in my main form?
I have data in all sorts of tables and databases that are linked together through different systems. I'd like to update some of the information automatically in the evenings or in the middle of the night without needing someone to push a button. Is there a way to do this?
I want to create a database that keeps track of contributions of members of an association. Every member can voluntarily give a standing order to contribute a fixed amount every month. A member can as well decide to review his/her contribute.
how I can come up with a database that can automatically add the contribution of a member monthly without manual input since the stated contribution is known. So that I can run a report for individual member and the report can capture the every monthly contribution that has been added automatically and shows when ever a member changes his/her contribution amount.
I have created an MS Access 2007 for a user. When the user uses the database, it automatically saves a copy of the database. Why is this happening? I did create for the database to compact/repair each time to user closes the database. ... However, when I open/close the database, there are not new copies of the database.
I have a table in my DB named TblStock and another named TblStock2..I also have a form in the DB named "frmStock" with the control source being "TblStock" . This form has a sub form "FrmStock2Subform" with control source being "tblStock2". The two forms are lined by "PurchaseID". This form is made to be used in entering products that have been bought for replenishment of stock. The problem I have is that when I enter data in the main form, by the time i click on the subform to start entering data, the table "TblStock" gets already updated.
Now lets assume somebody was about to enter data in the subform and later on changes his mind when the "TblStock" had already been updated, this will cause a waste of useful space because there is no corresponding record in the table "TblStock2". Secondly, if many users are entering data into the DB using that same form, I guest there will be some problems too. What i want is that the form should update both tables when the users validates the records.
Hi I need code to open TeacherDetailFrm form Main form.
I have TeacherStudentSubFr*m on the Mainform, FirstNameTxt on the TeacherStudentSubFr*m, and TeacherDetailFrm. I need code to open the TeacherDetailFrm By double click on the FirstNameTxt.
I use this code but no data come and query dialog box come.
Private Sub FirstNameTxt_DblCli*ck(Cancel As Integer) Dim DocSubForm As String Dim DocText As String DocSubForm = "TeacherDetailFrm" 'DocText = "[Result]=" & "'" & Me![result] & "'" DoCmd.OpenForm DocSubForm, , , "[ FirstNameFld ]=forms![TeacherStudentSubFrm]![ FirstNameTxt]"
End Sub
I like to upload the file but no way in this forum
I have an option button for a field [Fully Paid] (Yes/No) in my LoanT and i want to know if it's possible for my database to automatically choose an option depending on a calculated field
(Calculated field from another query) = [Outstanding Balance]
Say... if [outstanding balance] is = 0 or negative (refundable), then Yes should be On, if not it should remain No/off so that i wouldn't have to go over every record and manually choose the option
The option button is very useful when i want to display loans which are Paid and/or still active. How do I go about this?
I just created a database and need to connect it to the data source. The data comes from a http website (intranet from work). When I open the link using firefox, I can view the website with the data in it, but when I open it from Internet Explorer, I get a save as pop-up message to save a csv file which contains all the data. The extension of the http website ends with csv. So it is something like http (slash slash...) Intranetname/referral_dbase.csv
Currently, I am opening the file using firefox, copying all the data manually, and pasting it in a text file using notepad. After that, I import the file into access. The delimiter of the data is this symbol: |
I am trying to find a way to link my database to the website where the data is located so that I can skip the manual process of opening the website and copying the data and saving it into a text file and then importing that file into access. I was thinking to have like a form in access with a bottom that will automatically import that data from this link and paste it into a table in access using the delimiter symbol mentioned above.
Is this too complicated? Is it even possible in access 2010?
