View RepliesHow can i retrive Bulk Data - from Different database into this database table. At the moment i loop through all the records which is not good idea...i want it to be real quick without linking the table...
I heard something like Insert into statement can work but have never used one....
It's been some time since I wrote the following, which takes a string made up of "Lastname Firstname Telephone" and writes it at a specific time in Outlook. It uses Late binding so it works across all Oulook versions.
Code:
Public Function funOutputAppointmentToOutlook(dtmDate As Date, strSubject As String)
Dim olApp As Object
Dim mNameSpace As Object
Const olFolderCalendar = 9
Const olAppointmentItem = 1
[Code] ....
I would like to first check the specific Outlook time slot whether the string exists already and only if it does not exist to write it.
Is it possible for a website to pull data from an Access database?
We have all our department's policies in a MS Access database on our server. Some of these policies need to be made available to the public on our website. I'm wondering if there's a way for the website to pull directly from the database rather than having to manually upload the policies to the site every time they change (annually, semi-annually).
I've used MS Access a fair bit in the past but am somewhat lost since moving to 2013Pro.Some years back I was using software to document radio intercepts, this was based on Access but used a program to display and enter the data.That program was lost after upgrading to a new computer (tied to the CPU) .And the company has long since gone out of business.So I am left with the MS Access elements.In the form of a 3mb database that has nothing but a long list of tables to show for itself.Each table opens and has some ID columns with text like this in them 'L096e0dd24757c 1533a7cc1 53e 6ba44 bd' and after has usable data. What I want to do is set up Access so I can use as much of the data as possible.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just created a database and need to connect it to the data source. The data comes from a http website (intranet from work). When I open the link using firefox, I can view the website with the data in it, but when I open it from Internet Explorer, I get a save as pop-up message to save a csv file which contains all the data. The extension of the http website ends with csv. So it is something like http (slash slash...) Intranetname/referral_dbase.csv
Currently, I am opening the file using firefox, copying all the data manually, and pasting it in a text file using notepad. After that, I import the file into access. The delimiter of the data is this symbol: |
I am trying to find a way to link my database to the website where the data is located so that I can skip the manual process of opening the website and copying the data and saving it into a text file and then importing that file into access. I was thinking to have like a form in access with a bottom that will automatically import that data from this link and paste it into a table in access using the delimiter symbol mentioned above.
Is this too complicated? Is it even possible in access 2010?
i want to hide external data and databasetools tabs from my access program.
how i do it ?
I am trying to write a code that will run through one of my tables and copy a value from that table and then open SAP and run a search of the value, then save an excel copy of the results of the search, and repeat for each value in the table.
I am not asking for the code for the entire thing, just the code to access SAP similar to the way you open up other applications like internet explorer.
server administrators have expressed concern about my website that it is having a negative impact on the server.
He said this typically occurs when a website has a memory leak (where it obtains server resources and doesn't release them) or is opening database connections and not closing them until the point where no more are available.
I'm using asp.net to control Access and open the connections.
I don't know why it isn't closing them? the website is:
pedalcar.com
Any thoughts of what the problem is and what the statement I need to close the connections?
Background I have a query (Q1) that retrives data from a table (Table 1). One of the fields in Table (F1) contains both text and numeric data (ie: 24 eggs). I want to separate these values in Q1.
Questions
How can i in Q1 retrive only numeric data from F1 and display that data i a field?
How can i in Q1 retrive only text from F1 and display that data i a field?
I have a question about user level security / access control.For my database I have a back-end containing the tables and a front-end with forms, queries and everything. I have set up the access user level security.Dependent from the access level of my users, some front-end options will be hidden and some queries retrieve only part of the data. For example: I have a form to calculate clients' end prices. A vendor can only see prices for his own clients, not for other vendor's clients.
BUT: to make the query work, all users need access to the tables and the back-end must be stored in a public place, right? Now all vendors can just open the back-end and see all information.Maybe protect the BE with a password and store this in the queries?
When I change a font for a control, save it and then reopen it the font changes back to another font.
It's always the same font.
I'm trying to save it to Calibri but it reverts back to Constantia for some reason.
I've deleted the bound control and added it back but it did no good.
The only way I can change the font is to set it in the On Load of the form.
I am working on a project where I am creating a database that tracks open orders (old and new orders that still need to be billed but haven't been billed for one reason or another).
I have my "Master" table built and now I need to create 2 queries, one query retrieves the Top 20 orders based on value and that are older then 30 days and the second query is to retrieve the Top 100 orders based on the same criteria but the Top 100 query should not include the orders that appear in the Top 20 query.
My Top 20 query is below
SELECT TOP 20 MASTER.COMBO, MASTER.[Customer Name], MASTER.Status, MASTER.CCD, MASTER.Area, MASTER.[Order Type], MASTER.[Order Value], MASTER.AGE, MASTER.ANALYST, MASTER.COMMENTS
FROM MASTER
WHERE (((MASTER.AGE)>=30))
ORDER BY MASTER.[Order Value] DESC , MASTER.AGE;
I have tried multiple ways to do the Top 100 query and exclude what is returned in my Top 20 query but so far no success.
I have a access 2007 file. with a table with a yes/no field. When I link the table to another db using lnked table manager, the yes/no display is not a checkbox (as set) but is turns into textbox.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHi,
I create the table1 in SQL Server and then link the table to MS Access using ODBC. But, when I write do this statement
Dim rs As DAO.Recordset
Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("Select * from table1")
for i = 1 to rs.recordcount
msgbox rs.field(0)
next i
It only retrieve 1 record only, but the table have 10 records.
What's wrong with it?
I check rs.recordcount, it only loop one time.
Additionally,
it doesn't work this function in the ODBC link table
rs.addnew
rs.field(0) = "hello"
rs.update
And, when we use ODBC link tables,
we cannot delete data in the table.
currentdb.execute "delete * from table1"
it will give out error message, the table is read-only.
Please let me know about it, thanks.
i want to retrieve some data from a table i have pieced together a bit of code but get an error to few parameters.
Code:
Dim db As dao.Database
Dim Lrs As dao.Recordset
Dim LSQL As String
Dim Lname As String
'Open connection to current Access database
Set db = CurrentDb()
[code]....
when i paste the SQL into a query it works fine
I have a form and report created in Access 2010 that contain an ActiveX Control.

How to write Sample Code to Retrieve the Current User Name?I have done for short name only and I need it full

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have visitors who come in from one to several days at a time through different times of the year. Usually someone visits each day. Currently I use Excel to track visitors but I often keep typing and retyping the same persons over and over.
I would like to create a database of these people but I'm stuck with how to enter and retrieve the information on a daily basis. Should I create a table with many date fields (up to several); or just two; one FROM and one TO and try to draw the information out through a query? If so, how would one ask ACCESS with a query to PRINT TODAYS LIST and another VIEW TODAYS LIST (of visitors) with a button on a form (I know how to create buttons).
MS Access 2007. I am trying to make a form.
Form2
Text0 = Textfield for ID
Text2 = Textfield for LName
Text3 = Textfield for FName
btnRet = Button for retrieve when ID is entered in Text0
btnUpdate = Button for saving the changes made in the textfields.
How can I search the ID from the Table I made? And when it was matched, get the details of that ID unto the designated text fields. It was like retrieving the data from the table with the ID typed in the text field from the form I made.
Then when it was retrieved, I can edit the fields and when I hit the Update button, the edited fields will replaced the original data.
Also after it was updated, a new record will be added in the history table that the ID was edited. Is is possible?
For now, i want to know how to retrieve the data with the ID and edit and save it after and update the table. Does it applies with the codes with the retrieve button and update button?
I have a table in which i want a column name as output when the data in it is null.

I'm retrieving all **Basecode** column data starts with only letters other than 'W', 'N' by this query
Code:
SELECT tbl1.EID,tbl1.Description,tabl1.Basecode FROM tbl1 WHERE Not
IsNumeric(Left(Basecode,1)) AND Left(Basecode,1) Not In ("W","N");
And retrieving all **Basecode** if column data length >6 and with numbers '96', '78','54','15' by this query
Code:
SELECT tbl1.EID,tbl1.Description,tabl1.Basecode FROM tbl1
WHERE (((Len([Basecode]))>6)AND ((Left([Basecode],2))='15')) OR
(((Len([Basecode]))>6) AND ((Left([Basecode],2))='54')) OR
(((Len([Basecode]))>6) AND ((Left([Basecode],2))='78')) OR
(((Len([Basecode]))>6) AND ((Left([Basecode],2))='96'));
How do i get other data which won't retrieve based on above queries, other than data mentioned on these queries like this
