Apr 26, 2015I've used MS Access a fair bit in the past but am somewhat lost since moving to 2013Pro.Some years back I was using software to document radio intercepts, this was based on Access but used a program to display and enter the data.That program was lost after upgrading to a new computer (tied to the CPU) .And the company has long since gone out of business.So I am left with the MS Access elements.In the form of a 3mb database that has nothing but a long list of tables to show for itself.Each table opens and has some ID columns with text like this in them 'L096e0dd24757c 1533a7cc1 53e 6ba44 bd' and after has usable data. What I want to do is set up Access so I can use as much of the data as possible.

Jun 30, 2015I just created a database and need to connect it to the data source. The data comes from a http website (intranet from work). When I open the link using firefox, I can view the website with the data in it, but when I open it from Internet Explorer, I get a save as pop-up message to save a csv file which contains all the data. The extension of the http website ends with csv. So it is something like http (slash slash...) Intranetname/referral_dbase.csv
Currently, I am opening the file using firefox, copying all the data manually, and pasting it in a text file using notepad. After that, I import the file into access. The delimiter of the data is this symbol: |
I am trying to find a way to link my database to the website where the data is located so that I can skip the manual process of opening the website and copying the data and saving it into a text file and then importing that file into access. I was thinking to have like a form in access with a bottom that will automatically import that data from this link and paste it into a table in access using the delimiter symbol mentioned above.

Feb 14, 2007server administrators have expressed concern about my website that it is having a negative impact on the server.
He said this typically occurs when a website has a memory leak (where it obtains server resources and doesn't release them) or is opening database connections and not closing them until the point where no more are available.
I'm using asp.net to control Access and open the connections.
I don't know why it isn't closing them? the website is:

Jun 27, 2012I have a question about user level security / access control.For my database I have a back-end containing the tables and a front-end with forms, queries and everything. I have set up the access user level security.Dependent from the access level of my users, some front-end options will be hidden and some queries retrieve only part of the data. For example: I have a form to calculate clients' end prices. A vendor can only see prices for his own clients, not for other vendor's clients.
BUT: to make the query work, all users need access to the tables and the back-end must be stored in a public place, right? Now all vendors can just open the back-end and see all information.Maybe protect the BE with a password and store this in the queries?
General :: Access Keeps Changing Font In Form Control
May 18, 2015When I change a font for a control, save it and then reopen it the font changes back to another font.
It's always the same font.
I'm trying to save it to Calibri but it reverts back to Constantia for some reason.
I've deleted the bound control and added it back but it did no good.
The only way I can change the font is to set it in the On Load of the form.

Jul 24, 2013I am working on a project where I am creating a database that tracks open orders (old and new orders that still need to be billed but haven't been billed for one reason or another).
I have my "Master" table built and now I need to create 2 queries, one query retrieves the Top 20 orders based on value and that are older then 30 days and the second query is to retrieve the Top 100 orders based on the same criteria but the Top 100 query should not include the orders that appear in the Top 20 query.
My Top 20 query is below
SELECT TOP 20 MASTER.COMBO, MASTER.[Customer Name], MASTER.Status, MASTER.CCD, MASTER.Area, MASTER.[Order Type], MASTER.[Order Value], MASTER.AGE, MASTER.ANALYST, MASTER.COMMENTS

I have tried multiple ways to do the Top 100 query and exclude what is returned in my Top 20 query but so far no success.

I create the table1 in SQL Server and then link the table to MS Access using ODBC. But, when I write do this statement

It only retrieve 1 record only, but the table have 10 records.
What's wrong with it?
I check rs.recordcount, it only loop one time.
Additionally,
it doesn't work this function in the ODBC link table
rs.addnew
rs.field(0) = "hello"
rs.update
And, when we use ODBC link tables,
we cannot delete data in the table.
currentdb.execute "delete * from table1"
it will give out error message, the table is read-only.

I would like to create a database of these people but I'm stuck with how to enter and retrieve the information on a daily basis. Should I create a table with many date fields (up to several); or just two; one FROM and one TO and try to draw the information out through a query? If so, how would one ask ACCESS with a query to PRINT TODAYS LIST and another VIEW TODAYS LIST (of visitors) with a button on a form (I know how to create buttons).

Text0 = Textfield for ID
Text2 = Textfield for LName
Text3 = Textfield for FName
btnRet = Button for retrieve when ID is entered in Text0
btnUpdate = Button for saving the changes made in the textfields.
How can I search the ID from the Table I made? And when it was matched, get the details of that ID unto the designated text fields. It was like retrieving the data from the table with the ID typed in the text field from the form I made.
Then when it was retrieved, I can edit the fields and when I hit the Update button, the edited fields will replaced the original data.
Also after it was updated, a new record will be added in the history table that the ID was edited. Is is possible?
For now, i want to know how to retrieve the data with the ID and edit and save it after and update the table. Does it applies with the codes with the retrieve button and update button?
