Generate A Report Based On Value From Combo Box

I am trying to design a form which would have a combo box cbo1(Market) and a command button (btn1) to finally view a report based on the values selected in the combo box. The query (say qry1) that the report uses has about 11 columns, in which Market is one of them. And I have 8 different Markets. Now i need to be able to generate the report for two options:

1. I should be able to show the columns for the selected market ONLY(it need not be multiple selections; just one will do). Example: If I selected the Market 'Chicago', I want the report to display the column values for only Chicago.

And the other option is.

2. I should be able to show the columns for 'ALL' markets together. I dont actually have an option by name 'ALL' in the 8 values for market. I would like the combo box to show the option 'ALL' along with the 8 values in the list.

Hi guys . I created a form that has 3 combo boxes. Their name are Project Number, year and weekno . It has also a button that on click action supposed to generate a report baced on my combo box criteria and then loads that report for me. could any expert show me an example on how to do this. I have difficulty finding an example in google since i did not exactly what is called this method of generating report in access 2000.Thanks

Generate Value For Text Field In Report Based On Query

Okay I have a report (rptHorneOstbergQuestionnaire) that is based on a query (qryrptHorneOstbergQuestionnaire). In the report I have a total (HOTotal) which is the result of an expression created in the qry. Based on this result I would like to generate text in a text field (HOType) that is found in the same report.

Basically if the field HOTOtal shows any vaue between:
16 and 30 then I want the unbound text field to show the text Definitely evening typw and so on ...(see case statement below)

I thought I could do a case statement on report open but I am getting an error that my expression contains no value.

Here is the case statement

Problem When Using A Combo Box To Generate A Report

The premise:
I’m trying to create a report that is based on one of the columns in my data set. This is a rather large database, but there are only a few variations in this column and I’d like to have a report of the individual variations.

The current fix:
I’ve been able to make a report of all the variations and they are organized within each group. I cannot get Access to make a report that has only one of the variations.

How I’m doing this:
I am currently trying to use a combo box to pick which variation I want. I created a table that is related to the main table, which only has the names of the individual variations (and none are repeating, so I believe that was done correctly).

Then I am using a command button to call the report format (I am using VB to do this).

The issues:
Rather than just displaying the single variation that I chose, the one I chose is highlighted and all of the others are showing up directly below it. Then all of the data sets are showing up.

The needed fix, I think:
I don’t think I have the combo box and the command button linked properly. Does anyone know how I should have the parameters set in the combo box and what command I need to include in VB to draw the information from the combo box?

I also have a form with two combo boxes name cboState and cboCounty base on field from the table and a control button called Get. Now, I would like to make selection from the two combo boxes and generate a report after updating both combo boxes based on my selections.

I am trying to get a report based on a selection from a combo box. The issue is many fold. Firstly I have been playing around with it so much that I have messed up the syntax and can't remember what I had. Here is what I have at the moment (this is based on a button):

DoCmd.OpenReport "RepClassrooms", acViewPreview, , " Class = '" & Me.cmboRepClass & "'"

The second issue is that it isn't filtering on the combobox - it gives all the data from the database based on all the entries in the combobox but this is probably down to the syntax again.

When i currently select the name of the person that i want, it creates their own individual report of their workload.What I want to do is to be able to select that person and it generates their individual report and then attaches it in an email to that individual.

Print Specific Report Based On Combo Selection?

Hi

I need to print a specific form based on the selection made on a combo box.

I have been able to set it up to open the relevant form when the user selects an option from the combo box, but am unable to find a way to be able to print the specific report based on the selection.

I have a command button which prints a report based on the data in my current form, but would like it to also print the specific form based on the combo box selection.

Is this possible, and if so how is it possible?

I am struggling to pull out a report based on the combo box selection. I have NOI database and want to pull out a report for a specific customer that how many NOIs are generated by this customer..

I have a separate table of customer and another table of NCRs and the customer information comes from customer table.

I have tried the below statement but gives me an error message:

code for Macro that pulls the report in click event:

do i need to mention the report as well in some where in report ?

On paper I have designed a faculty contact database and have now come to the point where I am designing the form. In the contact information table are Cell, Home, Office fields as well as Personal, Work, Alternate email fields which will contain the corresponding information. On the form after the information is entered the person needs to select an option from each of four combo boxes to indicate which is the preferred number, number for student, preferred email and email for students. The question is how to populate the text fields in a report based on the selection of the combo boxes with the information stored in the corresponding field (cell, home, office phone numbers and personal, work and alternate email). I am assuming it is done in the query but I don't know how or can it be done in vba?

My Access 2003 Database contains the following objects:

1. tblTrackerData
- this contains over 1,000 student enrollment records.
One of the fields "QualCourseName" (text) contains the name of the Training Course that the student has enrolled in.

2. qryCourseNamesGrouped is a query based upon the above table with one field only - QualCourseName. This includes the names of the training courses and has been grouped so that only 17 training courses appear, not over 1,000.

3. frmParameter is a form that includes a combo box cboFiltered based on the above query AND a command button CmdFiltered to open a report rptCourseNamesGrouped and filter the report based on the selection made from the combo box.

I have added the following code to the OnClick event attached to the cmd button"

This works great to return a report if the user selects something from the combo box. How do I adapt this so that the user can also leave the combo box blank and filter the report to return all records?Additionally, what if I want to have the user filter between dates selected on the form; i.e. between 'txtStart' and 'txtEnd'

Hi,

I have the following very general question, but I hope you can give me a few hints so I can start and find things out on my way.

I just created a database which via VBA procedures runs all kinds of queries and puts the results in tables, for instance I have about 20 tables now with 10 fields each and for every table I want to run the same type of report.
I already made one report for one table via the report wizard, I would like to use the layout of this table for all other tables using a VBA code, so when I run this code it will create all these reports for me.
What is the best way to start?

I want to input a number value in [field1], then i want [field2] to generate an auto number BUT i want it to increase based on [field1] THEN combine them into [field3] creating a unique SKU for every item I have.

EXAMPLE1: I will type in [field1]: "001234". [field2]will enter "000001" because it is the first occurrence of "001234" in [field1]. [Field3] will then have a value of "001234-00001"
EXAMPLE2: I will type in [field1]: "002468". [field2]will enter "000001" because it is the first occurrence of "002468" in [field1]. [Field3] will then have a value of "002468-00001"

AmoundPaid

AmountPaid = How much each customer paid

Tables :: Auto Generate Hyperlink In Table Based On Field Name

I Have a table with 15000 entries. This table lists components we use. This table is used to generate queries/forms. I have been asked to add a hyperlink to this table to link to a drawing of the component. All the drawings are in PDF and in the same folder. I am looking for a way to automatically update the hyperlink fields all at once. The Hyperlink will be in the format of servershareddrawings12345.pdfwhere 12345 is the component name from the table.

But there are a few small problems with the component names.
1. If the component begins with a B- . The drawing name will be all the characters except when there is a second dash in the component. So if the component is B-12345-678 the drawing name will only be B-12345.
2. If The component begins with AB, The drawing will be the first 5 characters regardless of what follows, e.g. AB123.
3. Finally for all other components the full component name will be the drawing name.

Putting the naming to one side, how to go about auto generating the hyperlink. I have posted this in the table section, but maybe this should be in another section like queries or VBA.

General :: Can Access Generate Emails Based On Record Date

Using Access and Outlook 2010. I have a database that tracks Contracts for our University. One of the fields it tracks is Expiration Date.

Is there a way to have Access prompt Outlook to send an email to my boss when the contract is a month or within a month from expiring?I'm assuming when the database is opened it would have to run a query for expiration dates expiring within one month of today's date (which i know how to do).

I just don't know if it's possible to generate an email or some kind of message with those records/contract numbers displayed? I should also note my boss is the only one who uses this database so even if the email notice isn't possible, is there a way to show a message of what contracts are expiring soon when he opens the DB?

I'm trying to track daily production at a manufacturing company running many different processes at different locations each running multiple parallel "lines." The tricky part is that the number of lines running and the shift schedules e.g. 2shifts 10hrs/day 4days/week or 3shifts 8hrs/day 5days/week change frequently for each process.

Right now I have a form for process data that specifies the schedule and number of lines running each day. Then I'm running an append query to a "production" table that generates blank production records associated with each item made in each process for the correct shift/line combinations.

Up to now I've been manually changing the date on the append query each time I run it. Then I have a seperate query for each process that pulls out the production records for each day. My problem is that the preferred interface for production data entry is a spreadsheet with the following layout:

--------DAYS LINE 1 DAYS LINE 2 SWING LINE 1 SWING LINE 2
ITEM 1 100
ITEM 2 2250
ITEM 3

which changes each time the shift/line schedule changes for each process. The only way to achieve this layout I know of is a crosstab query which isn't updateable. Ideally, each day the manager will specify the shift schedules and forms will be automatically generated with the correct structure and sent to the process supervisors. I'm open to different form layouts and even redesigning the database completely.

I have a database of events and most repeat daily, weekly, etc. When I enter them into Access, they go in as a single entry with a start and end date. But I need to have them as individual entries for each day so that rather than one entry of 5 days, I need to create 5 entries of one day each.
