Permissions Greyed Out

Jul 22, 2005

Hi,

I have secured a DB and everything is tickety boo except for the fact that I want to be able to administer permissions from the FE (MDE) and the modify permissions button that i have put on a custom toolbar is greyed out when I log in?

I have full admin rights on my group and own all the objects and Access lets me assign all the permissions if I enable the shift bypass and enter the development MDB that way but that's quite a bit of hassle if I want to just change a permission or two.

Can anyone tell me why it won't let me change them?

Thanks, Tom

Relationship Window, Enforce Referential Integrity Greyed Out

Mar 29, 2007

Hello..

I have a simple database of 4 tables.

luTblJobTitle
JobTitleID (pk)
JobTitle

luTblReason
ReasonID(pk)
Reason

tblDateReason
DateReasonID(pk)
EntryNumber(fk)
Date
Reason
Entered

tblEmpMain
EntryNumber(pk)
EmployeeNumber
Etc//

I have a 1 to many setup between tblEmpMain and tblDateReason.

When I try to setup the relationship between the "reason" field in tblDateReason and luTblReason, Referential Integrity along with the other two check boxes are greyed out.

It still shows one to many but it will not let me enforce referential intergrity.

Why is this? Did I setup the database wrong? Or am I trying to do something I shouldn't be doing??

I have attached the db.. It is split with both the backend and the front end.

Button Changing Value On Table

Aug 14, 2007

Hi all,

I'm struggling with a small issue that has to be quite simple.

I have a form called "Project Main" with a label called "Check".
There is a sub form called "PM Main" with a button "Button1".

What I want to do is to have the label "Check" change color when the button "Button1" is clicked. The color change is record specific, so here is what I have done:

-Created a table [Updated] that contains the project number [ID#] and a yes/no field [PM Updated]

-Now I need to be able to change that value (yes/no) when the button "Button1" is clicked.

-Then I need to have the main form "Project Main" check to see what the value of the [updated] table is.

-Then I need to have code to update the color of label "Check"

Does this make sense or am I making more complicated than it is?

I am looking for a way to attach X amount of pictures to a record. I want to use a command button that opens an explorer to choose X amount of files. I don't want to just open a folder because that won't return the file location.

How to open an "attachment explorer"?

How To MessageBox Contents Of A Table With A Button

Feb 27, 2007

This may seem a very simple question, but I really don't know how to do it. Basically, I want to MessageBox contents of a table with a button. I have a table called Map, and has two fiels: Column Number and Description. When a button is pressed, then I want a messagebox to come up and show the column number and the description of a single field. Although I know it is very wrong, here is the code I used for this (r![column Number] = 4 is meant to be the forth column number in the table):

Dim d As Database
Set d = CurrentDb
Dim r As Recordset
Set r = d.OpenRecordset("Map")

r![column Number] = 4
MsgBox "Column No: " & r![column Number] & ". Description: " & (r![Description])

By the way, there are seperate buttons for seperate fields. It is DAO as well
Thanx in advance

Forms :: Delete Row From Table Button?

Jul 16, 2013

The purpose of this database is to have a simple form that inputs data into a table. There is a subform view on the form so they are able to see their data that was submitted into the table.

Problem:I have made an attempt at making a Delete Row button. The idea behind this is to allow them to select a row on the subform view and then delete it from the table.

Form = frmEvaluationForm
Subform = frmReviewSubForm
Table = tblEvaluationDatabase

figuring out what is causing this error 3075 (syntax error in query expre. Is there a more specific way to delete a row that has been selected?

Access 2007

Code:

Private Sub cmdDelete_Click()
'check existing selected record
If Not (Me.frmReviewSubForm.Form.Recordset.EOF And Me.frmReviewSubForm.Form.Recordset.BOF) Then
'confirm delete
If MsgBox("Delete this record?", vbQuestion + vbYesNo, "Delete") = vbYes Then
'delete now
CurrentDb.Execute "DELETE * FROM tblEvaluationDatabase WHERE CAccount = " & Me.txtCAccount
'refresh data in list
Me.frmReviewSubForm.Form.Requery
End If
End If
End Sub

Coding Command Button To Add A Few New Records To A Table

Nov 2, 2006

I have 2 tables, one has a list of comments indexed by numbers.

The second table will be populated with numbers that correspond to the first table based on usage of the form that I'm about to describe.

The form contains several check boxes. Each corresponds to a comment from the first table. If 3 of the check boxes are selected when the command button is pressed, I want three separate new record entries to go into the second table and the data that I want entered is the text in the label that is next to each check box on the form. After the records are added to the table, I'd like to reset the check boxes.

I simply cannot figure out how to code the button to do this.

Modules & VBA :: CMD Button To Clear A Table Column

Mar 26, 2015

I'm currently making an Experience Statement for my company. In one of the forms I've created I an Industry sort that is weighted and connected to a table so that it'll show a report based on the numbers provided IE. 1-5 One being shown first and a blank statement not showing on the report at all.

I have the report function working correctly the only thing I would like is a cmd button that clears sort table of numbers so that it doesn't show anything and can start fresh. What VBA code shall I use?

I was thinking something along the lines of this, but it's not working.

Dim s as String
s = "UPDATE All_Projects_Sort_Table SET Industry Sort = Null;"
CurrentDb.Execute s
Requery

Attached are some images ...
