I want to run a query that does a GroupBy with DATE and Counts the number of records associated with that DATE.
I can do this, but I also want the dates to group together by Month so I can count the number of records per month for multiple months in the same query. How do I do this?
How can I group records based on values within a particular field? For example, if I have records of people with different annual incomes, what is the easiest way to allocate the records to income bands? I assume the starting point will be to create a band classification in Excel and import as a table. How do I subsequently run a query to achieve the desired effect?
I have chart in ADP project/MS SQL Express and I want to see in chart table (date Field, data field) grouped by year and month: 2005.01, 2005.02, 2005.03.... I try this str = DATENAME(yyyy,date)+ DATENAME(m,date), SUM(data) FROM table GROUP BY DATENAME(yyyy,date)+ DATENAME(m,date) ORDER BY DATENAME(yyyy,date)+ DATENAME(m,date)
problem is with sorting: 2005April, 2005februar,2005,Januar - its sorting not by date, but alpabhetic.
I have a Date field, (an Expiry Date) and I want to use this in a Report that with Group the Report into Months. So we know, such and such a month, these are set to expire. Rather than have a separate Month column... how can I make use of exisiting Date in expiry field. Some one must know... Thanks in advance.
I need a subgrouping for a report I am working on.
I have a DateIn field that contains date as mm/dd/yy. I have managed to get a count of all of a certain type of document that came in during a certain period of time that usally spans a quarterly period. So typically there are three months in the query. I would like a subgroup that breaks the numbers up in the 3 month period by each month.
So if a total of 150 docs moved in 3 months it shows 50 moved the first month, 50 the second, etc. I believe this is grouping by month. I have not been able to determine the criteria for getting the query to group by a single month as well as the three months period being grouped by document type. Here is what I have so far.
SELECT ctblDocuments.DocTypeID, tlkpDocTypeList.DocType, Count(ctblDocuments.DateIn) AS CountOfDateIn FROM ctblDocuments INNER JOIN tlkpDocTypeList ON ctblDocuments.DocTypeID = tlkpDocTypeList.DocTypeID WHERE (((ctblDocuments.DateIn) Between #7/1/2005# And #9/30/2005#)) GROUP BY ctblDocuments.DocTypeID, tlkpDocTypeList.DocType ORDER BY tlkpDocTypeList.DocType;
I have a query that gathers information from the tables in my database and returns something like this:
Code: Field Pest 1 Insect1 1 Insect2 1 Insect3 2 Insect1 2 Insect3 2 Insect4
Field and Pest are fields in two separate (but joined) tables. Field exists only once in its table, and multiple pests are attributed to each field. I'm looking to create a table or query in which the values would be listed as follows:
Code: Field Pest 1 Insect1, Insect2, Insect3 2 Insect1, Insect3, Insect4
The purpose for this is to create a legend for a map used by another program based on the information gathered in the database. I do have other criteria for which fields and pests show up in this query.
my database was working fine until a new month was added in the attendance now each staff member has about 20 records when they should only have two. if i remove the second month it corrects its self but i can't do that permanently also i have office 2010 but the office has 2003 so i saved it to 2002-2003 file format and it was working fine up until today when it has started to give and error message Which Reads: Your Microsoft Office Access database or project contains a missing or broken reference to the file 'ACEDAO.DLL' version 12.0
Hi all, I have a db for logging meeting action points. Each action point has a description and owner. I'd like a query/report which will produce a list of action points grouped by owner (easy), but with a particular owner's action points at the top.
Essentially, rather than do a GroupBy and ascending sort, i need to specify the first group that is displayed. I don't care in what order the other groups appear.
Eg.
Action Point Owner 1. Task 1 DC 6. Task 6 DC 8. Task 8 DC 3. Task 3 AG 4. Task 4 AG
So, above if i just did an ascending sort, the DC records wouldn't be at the top.
I am trying to create a database that will keep track of the orders placed for a given part number by month. Currently, my table houses the part number, and the ordered amount for the past three years by month (there are thirty-five columns for every part). My column headings are ORDER_MAY_2013, etc. I would like to set a query up that will look at the column headings and pull the amounts ordered for each part for the past twelve months. In other words, I have three years of data in my table. In my query, I just want one year. However, I don't want to have to rewrite the query every month so that it will pick up the new data. Is there a way to accomplish this?
Is there a better way to build this database? I thought about just have four columns in my table - PART_NUMBER, ORDER_MONTH, ORDER_YEAR, ORDER_AMOUNT. The only problem there, is that every part (there are about 450 parts) would have to be listed 35+ times. That seemed too redundant to me, so I built the table this way. However, now I am having trouble querying against it.
I wish to make an Access DB that will work as a HUB for a few different people in our company to work off of as a means of putting analytical results in tables where a SampleID is given to each sample and is unique. I want to know if there is a way to group any given number of SampleID records together into a 'ProjectGrp' and produce something along the lines of a work order form so the other people in the company can look at a ProjectGrp, see what SampleIDs are part of that group, and then fill in the data for each SampleID.
I am trying to display the number of issues logged and closed for each particular month. My SQL query works, but the number of closed issues is where I get stuck. I can only see a way of displaying the number of closed issues per month by specifying the exact month number in the query (Loop?)
SELECT Year(bg_reported_date) AS [Year Reported], Month(bg_reported_date) AS [Month Reported], Count(dbo_bugs.bg_id) AS [Number of Issues Logged], (SELECT count(bg_last_updated_date) FROM dbo_bugs where Year(bg_last_updated_date) = 2006 and month(bg_last_updated_date) = 1 and bg_status =5 and bg_project = 12 ) AS Closed FROM dbo_bugs WHERE (((dbo_bugs.bg_reported_date) Between #1/1/2006# And #12/31/2006#) AND ((dbo_bugs.bg_project)=12)) GROUP BY Year(bg_reported_date), Month(bg_reported_date) ORDER BY Year(bg_reported_date), Month(bg_reported_date);
I have a select query from a few related tables, one relationship being many-to-many. The resulting query, when run would have several groups of records where each group has all but one field different (a text field). Is it possible to do a report where this group appears as one record with the results of that field as a list?
Is it possible to group and summarize fields while in a query instead of doing it in the report section? Please find the query attached. For each day, I need to group the "Expr1" field (shifts employees worked) and "Date" field and to summarize their corresponding "Cases" and "LBS" values.
This is how I need to see it (actual groups and totals):
I have Table as PL2008 and RPT2. Both tables have one column named PTUNID. My goal is to first Group, sum certain Columns in the PL2008 then match PTUNID from this Grouping to RPT2 Table's column PTUNID and then show the results which do not match.
I have written following Qry but what really happenning is its giving me all the results ( match and no match in both tables ) and Sum values are incorrect.
SELECT [PL2008].PTUNID, Sum([PL2008].[Total Hours]) AS [SumOfTotal Hours], Sum([PL2008].[Actual Cost]) AS [SumOfActual Cost], [PL2008].[PRFIELD] FROM RPT2, [PL2008] WHERE RPT2.PTUNID <> [PL2008].PTUNID GROUP BY [PL2008].PTUNID, [PL2008].[PRFIELD];
I have a table, which is full of information, but could be broke down into something like the following:
Dan - Job 1 Dave - Job 1 Karl - Job 1 Steve - Job 2
I want a form to appear with the different job's on, and then from there I select which job I want to view the details for.
So for example, in the list it would say Job 1 or Job 2. If I click Job 1, it would bring up a form showing details for Dan, followed by Dave and then Karl. If I click on Job 2, it would just bring up Steve's details.
When I try and do the query, it lists all of the Jobs (Job 1, Job 1, Job 1, Job 2), where I just want it to group all of one kind together.
I created a query and everything is OK, but i wanted to group the result, here is the code
Code: SELECT Equipment.Category, ([Equipment]![weekday_rate]*[Rent]![weekdays_num])+([Rent]![weekend_num]*[Equipment]![weekdend_rate])+(([Equipment]![weekday_rate]*[Rent]![weekdays_num])+([Rent]![weekend_num]*[Equipment]![weekdend_rate])*0.2) AS Income FROM Equipment INNER JOIN Rent ON Equipment.Equip_ID=Rent.Equip_ID; I want the total for all equipment which belongs to the same category
I have a query that selects usage records from a table where a data field falls within a rolling 12-month period that ends on a month and year selected by the user on a form.
PARAMETERS [Forms]![frmReport]![cboMonth] Short, [Forms]![frmReport]![txtYear] Long; SELECT UsageID, dtUsage, dblUsage FROM tblUsage WHERE (((DateDiff("m",[dtUsage],DateSerial([Forms]![frmReport]![txtYear],[Forms]![frmReport]![cboMonth],1))) Between 0 And 11));
I also have a query that pulls data between two dates that the user specifies using two textboxes on a form.
SELECT UsageID, dtUsage, dblUsage FROM tblUsage WHERE (((tblUsage.dtUsage) Between [Forms]![frmReport]![txtStartDate] And [Forms]![frmReport]![txtEndDate]));
On the form I have an Option Group control that sets the visible properties of the 4 controls; 12-Month Rolling cboMonth - Month Combobox txtYear - User entered year Date Range txtStartDate - User entered Start Date txtEndDate - User entered End Date
What I was planning on doing was adding two new textboxes (txtQryStart & txtQryEnd) and depending on what option is selected, change the dates accordingly
If blnDateRange Then Me.txtQryStart = Me.txtStartDate Me.txtQryEnd = Me.txtEndDate End If
If blnMonth Then If Me.cboMonth = 12 Then EndMonth = 1 EndYear = Me.txtYear + 1 StartMonth = EndMonth StartYear = Me.txtYear Else EndMonth = Me.cboMonth + 1 EndYear = Me.txtYear StartMonth = EndMonth + 1 StartYear = Me.txtYear - 1 End If Me.txtQryStart = DateSerial(StartYear, StartMonth, 1) - 1 Me.txtQryEnd = DateSerial(EndYear, EndMonth, 1) End If
Now I can use one query to accomplish both types of query; SELECT UsageID, dtUsage, dblUsage FROM tblUsage WHERE (((tblUsage.dtUsage) Between [Forms]![frmReport]![txtQryStart] And [Forms]![frmReport]![txtQryEnd]));
This approach works. It saves me from having to duplicate the queries and some future headache if anything needs to be changed in the queries.
What I was wondering is there an better/simpler way to do this? :confused:
I am using the following code to get results from next month,
Code:
Month([ptdate])=Month(Now())+1
which works great to get next months results. I try to get what is left of this month by adding the code:
Code: Between Now() And Month([ptdate])=Month(Now())+1
This actually gives me results from July and August, eventhough it is Sept.Basically I want the results from the remainder of this month until the end of next month.
I'm planning to create a form that would show total number of sales transaction per week: If today's month is February, i would like users to see records like this: (Week should start on a Monday and ends on Saturday)
