it shows the data after removing the filters from the form when it is opened.
in fact the filters are set to false

I have a form that has a field called Project Name where a user types the project name. We have certain abbreviations we use for a building making it hard to search in the future.
I know we can set the autocorrect option on Access Program but that will effect all MS applications.
Is there a way to have a certain field or for have these autocorrect options?
I am trying to build a database for the handling of events for our clients. I therefore do have four tables named "Client", "Invitation", "Invitation status" and "Events". The table invitation includes an own primary key and the primary keys from the tables "Invitation", "Invitations status" and "Events" as so called secondary keys. I have now built an ongoing form, based on the "Client" table.
This form has a list field which includes the upcoming events. All our clients are listed below this form (as it is an ongoing form). After the name of the client I do have a drop down field calles "status" (source is the table "Invitation status" where we can remark if the client is invited, has confirmed his attend and so on.
The problem is now as follows: I am able to put in the status of a specific client for an event. The result is saved in the table as wanted. I am also able to change the status and this will be saved in the table as well. What doesn't work is that if I want to change the event, the status doesn't change. This means that if a client hast the status invited for event X he has the status for all events, which shouldn't be. The aim would be that if I am changing the event, the status also has to change.
My DVD library database I have a memo field which has the description of the movies.
In some cases, like my tv show records, I have a lot of data because of the episodes and episode descriptions.
I'm currently displaying this data using a split form with the datasheet on the left
I must use a small font in the memo field in order to display all data.
I could use a larger font and simply scroll but I'm looking for an alternative.
I've even thought of creating a hyperlink filed and point to the movie on IMDB's web site. But when I click the link nothing happens even though I copied and pasted the link into the field.
I am looking for a way to export my database and all linked files into one folder with automatic updated links. I would like to transfer the complete project to an other computer. Is this possible? How to do? Thank you.

I have a continuous form based on table "INCOMES" that shows all the payments received, which mediums can be (field "PMNT_MEDIUM"):
- check
- transfer
- taxes
- cash
Table "INCOMES" is filled using another form, but in this particular form I just want to show "check", "transfer" and "cash" (not "taxes") so that I can track all the cash incomes.
Note: taxes are loaded because they appear in my invoices and I need them there to reach the invoice total amount.So my form has a search bar which allows me to search by PMNT_MEDIUM listing all "checks", all "cash" or all "transfer". I can also search by payment number (meaning: check number). To that end I have a "search" button that applies the filter. And I have another button that "cleans" the filtering by "putting a "" in the search-bar and then calling the "on click" of the search button".
What I need is, no matter if I click over the "search" or "clean" button, it NEVER shows me the "taxes".Search button, on click code:

the original value should stay there
but when you view the record it should only give *****

I only want the active screen on the toolbar. and all other screens like the DB screen and forms that are not active to be hidden on the toolbar.

I'm not brilliant at using MS Access - can't use the VBA codes or anything like that.
basically, I want to set up a database of photogrpahs where you store thephotograph in Access, and then run a query to search for specific photos, which brings up a form showing the picture.
I seem to be OK at doing all of this so far except I can't get the photo to appear in the form - it just displays a link which you double click on to get to the photo.
I've tried to look up how to sort this on the web but don't understand the way people speak about access :confused:

I have completed a db and am satisfied with the structure and forms. The object window is hidden when the database is opened, and the main entry form automatically opens for the user. This db will be in a network folder and several users will have access to it. I want people to be able to enter data and run reports, but not make any changes to the database itself, or accidentally delete the database file or some other change to the structure. What is the proper way to set up the folder rights and anything else associated with the previous question?

I have a database that currently has security in place so that users input their own usernames and passwords to access the database. The users have recently been added to a windows 2000 server and I want to be able to use their windows 2000 server logon credentials to provide them with automatic access to the database. Is there anyone out there who knows how to set this up? It is a rather urgent request if you could get back to me either on this forum or via email

I have a form that is showing data from 1 table. That table has 12 different fields on it and I want to be able to filter based on selections I make in a combo box in the header of the form. The filter string must be dynamic enough to allow filtering based on 1 criteria selected, or multiple criteria selected. For example:
If I have values in filter fields 3, 5, and 9 I'd want the filter string to be created as follows:
"...WHERE field3 = field3filter.value AND field5 = field5filter.value AND field9 = field9filter.value"
If I have values in only field 7, I'd want th efilter string to be created as follows:
"...WHERE field7 = field7filter.value"
And so on and so on.
I have created some filters before but all of the different VBA syntaxes I'm using seem to come up short.
I am opening and closing a series of Excel 2000 Workbooks using Access 2000 VBA and want this sequence to be able to complete without any human intervention.
However, there are 2 instances when this stops and waits for a human option to be selected:
1. When the spreadsheet is password protected
2. When the spreadsheet has automatic links I get the message:
"The Workbook you opened contains automatic links to information in another workbook. Do you want to update this workbook with changes made to the other workbook?"
How can I code it so that in situation 1 it skips this file and in situation 2 it automatically defaults to do not update?

If I have a report in MS Access 2000 generated based on the criteria selected of a project with work order "9999" with the labor costs, materials costs and the Totals of each crew1, crew2,... and I would like to have those expenditures populated in corresponding cel in Excel for each crew, HOW would I do it?
To think it out loud, could I create a button on a form, so when I select the criteria for the work order, and when I click the button, it should refresh/update the Exel file with the new data...?? How do I write VBA code for that...?

I'm getting an error (SQL command not properly ended) but main thing is, I can't get it to recognize the ms access db.
In a nutshell...I want to query the oracle db for a number and count, then scan a number into msaccess and have it 'find' the matching number in oracle and return the count only to ms access. More comments below between the code and here are table names for both oracle and access:
ORACLE: Table name is: batch_status bs
Field names are: batch_num and Batch size
MS ACCESS: Table name is tblbatchstatus
Field names are: batchnum and idcount
CODE in PASSTHROUGH QUERY:
select batch_num,BATCH_SIZE
from batch_status bs
(this works and selects all batch numbers and sizes from oracle)
(If I say 'where batch_num = 60024 -----this works also....)
However...when I add the below part...I get errors...it can't seem to match to access database....
SELECT tblbatchstatus.Batchnum, tblbatchstatus.Idcount
FROM tblbatchstatus;
where batch_num = tblbatchstatus.batchnum
And I want to just say: where batch_num = <<<scanned batch number>>> and return the id count.

I have recently been doing a conversion for my boss for a access 2000 database (both front and backend) to a MSSQL backend.
I finished the conversion today (as quite a lot of the code / queries ran slow due to access running the queries locally rather than on the server). And tested it on my and my boss's machine with no problems so he gave the go ahead to update everybody to our new mssql 2000 backend with the modified frontend.
This is when the problems started; We had two different sets of forms for accessing one of our databases systems - the log system, one is the original dynaset based form, and the other is a newer set which uses snapshot views and preforms updates via queries. Nobody uses the old dyanset system apart from my boss and one of the administrative team as they have things on that window which they need to see. About 30 minutes into the release of the new database the system frooze up on my bosses computer and nobody could create a new log (the server was timing out). I assumed this had something to do with the old dynaset's creating locks on the table.
I offlined the database and kicked everybody out of the front end, turned it on again and tied again, this time banning everybody from the dynaset system. Within 10 minutes another computer frooze up, again with a timeout on the insert query. I discovered that after you had added a new log to the database it would timeout on all subquent additions (something it hadn't done during testing) . Further investigatiion showed it was the snapshot list window causing the error, so coded the add log window to close the list before preforming the insert query and then reopen it afterwards. This allowed my machine to make multible additions without flaw. So I released a new client to everybody. 15 minutes later it was timing out again, but this time there you could not even make one new record.
I checked for locks on the table though the server management table and couldn't find any for the Log table. I have restarted the SQL server box and with no avil. So I reverted our backend to the access mdb file and told people to use the old client.
I am at a complete lose to why this is happening, if anybody has had any expericences like this or knows the cause please tell me.
Some information on the database in question.
It was made as an access 2 database all intergrated into one file, then it was seperated into two files (frontend and backend). Upgraded to Access 97, then to 2000 before this final update to MSSQL 2000.
The log system has two main tables. The first is the log title / info table which links (one to many) to a log entry table. This problem only occurs on the main log table and does not appear to be reoccurring anywhere else within the database. The main log table has just under 18,000 rows in it.

I am a first time user of access. i am trying to create an Data Access Page which will list all entries in a table and then allow me to add, change and delete them. I have created the page using the wizard but it will not let me add, delete or update. i view all the entries at one time but that is all. the navigation toolbar shows up at the bottom but it is grayed out. any ideas on what i may be doing wrong?

I have a two level security system to protect my date. The first uses the MS Access security, the second is a simple login system wherby a user enters their name and personal password to gain a customised view of the data eg if the user is me, I can see all tool bars, other users cannot. What I would like to be able to do is write a query wherby I can use the users login details to diplay only their data. An example of the script I built is as follows

I am using MS Acess2000 and need to make a report that will be passed around with production work. My primary key is the invoice number of the work order. Currently to open an invoice i have a macro, attached to a query with the following qualifiers; Like [Enter invoice]
This pulls up the current record fine.
for the form and flags the folloing in the property filter sectin of the form
(((([CustomerTableMasterRef].[Invoice]) Like [Enter invoice])))

Now I am trying to use microsofts how to filter a report using a forms filter...
This picks up on the Invoice query as shown above but does not just insert the query results...
Is there better code or another way to approach this... Currently i am using:

Using this code not only does my report not detect the correct fields to import data (no data is filled in) but it requerys the invoice or atleast should, which I could do with out all of that code...

I have placed a filter button on a form as a filter and written the following on-click event procedure:

When I click the filter button I get a blank message box titled 'Microsoft Access" and an OK button, when closed the filter works perfectly.I have checked this procedure in other forms and it works without showing the blank message box.The only difference with this form is that its control source is a union query.

I've created a database where a query who'se result is loaded on a form uses following function --
DateDiff('d',Date(),[Target Date])-(DateDiff('ww',Date(),[Target Date])*2)-(Select Count(*) from [tblHolidays] where [HolidayDate] between Date() and [Target Date])
I've notice that 2 ppl get an error message when they try to open database, with thatt function coming on an error message
Does this mean they have older access version ?
How can I tell ? Any advise on what to do ?
So here's my problem. I'm trying to update a listbox in excel with values that are being pushed in a table in access. The problem is that there are repeated values in the column in access, but I only want to show each value once, regardless of how many times it appears in the table. I would give a code sample but I'm having trouble getting started...

I've converted a microsoft access 2000 into 2002-2003 filesystem because I want to build a mde.
First I downloaderd the jet service pack 8.
The problem after the conversion:
reports in a form don't work anymore, the references to form values are popping up as parameters disrupting all the functionality.
The same with the data-entry within this form as i'm using a lot of conditions which reference other form values.
I found out:
The reference to one of my subforms is to the 'name' of the subform which is correctly spelled in the subform.
When using the 'build-up' function to build a reference the loaded form shows a subform name 'with the source-object name' while access normally uses the name value of a subform. What a scam

I have a problem with making a (simple!) search form work in Access 2000. I wrote the code in (what i believe to be) Access 2000 version, and it runs on my machine that is Access 2002-3. The search form uses VBA code; an if-then logic for 3 fields that are chosen by the user, and discounts fields that are not selected. The code then filters results from a query based on 2 tables and presents these in another form.
This all works fine on my pc, and on others using Access 2002-3, with macro security set at medium (and macros approved to run). However, the search form does not work on pc's running Access 2000. I do not know the security levels for these pc's but please if anyone knows of what may be causing this... please help!!
